Close a port
If a particular port is open, how close this same port?
Thank you
Well, I downloaded limewire which is a P2P program. It is a symbol that there is a firewall. I went to the vista firewall settings and the program is on the list of exceptions. So I don't know what port open and if im about to open a port how should I close.
In any case, I'm really grateful for your reply.

How to close port 445? Should it be closed? What effect will have open/closed? I am a novice user and understand many uses and ways to configure certain parts of my computer. This open port sparked yet another in the functioning of my PC. Thank you Jerome.
I can't imagine why you would want to do and I have no intention of frelling with any of my Windows machines to try it for you. If you feel better close your port 455, simply use the Windows Firewall to do. You must take the advice of Steve Gibson with a grain of salt. If your computer is clean, you have a good antivirus installed, you are using a firewall, are behind a router and practice "Safe Hex" then find something else to worry about. But that's just my opinion.

my router from r7000 nighthawk is currently running firmware v1.0.6.28_1.1.83 and I'm comcerned with security of my network from ports 21 (ftp) and 443 (https) are both always open to exploits. These results, to which I refer are scan utility shield of gibson research online.
I closed port forwarding in the router nothing works management. and it's only the first ports scanned 1056.

Your question would be preferable, in the proximity of the forums section. On the homepage there is a link to some frequently asked questionsand in the FAQ says how matching works.

Is it possible to close the ports open on the new Mac Pro network? We place one as a server in a corporate environment and the internal security/network group uses automated scanning software security to "detect" the ports open, they want closed. They will be too firm in order to allow the machine on the network. If possible can you point me to documentation on how this is done? Thank you.
In a normal workstation that is behind a firewall, you control, NO ports are visible from the internet.
If you configure a Mac OS X Server, this software controls which ports are open. Your query can do better on this forum:

Serial port visa and while loop
Hello
I am trying to acquire data of a device through serial communication. This is an RS232 interface. I use a port of visa and I know open and close the port of visa again and again while the program is running is bad style. So, I trieed to use a while - excluding the Visa open loop and nearby (see the attachment of a second, program 2). Unfortunately this work of isn´t program and I can´t find the bug. However the first attachment (program 1) works properly (except that the speed is maybe more low). Sombody could me to get the second work programme.
Thank you!
Best regards
Soffi
What you need to do is to add a register to offset for the name of resource VISA and error. See attachment a screenshot.
I couldn't find this anywhere in the examples of NEITHER. (This one is based on the basic series example write and read vi.) When I started with LV, I asked tech support how to do this, and they told me. I WISH THEY WOULD SHARE THIS TECHNIQUE WITH USERS IN THE UNITED STATES!
I hope this helps. (I can reach the vi if you wish.)

Visa OR written closing serial port
Hi all
Currently in collaboration with LV2011 and NOR visa 2014. In my application, I have 7 open including 4 serial ports I write for devices, 3 are simply listening. Now, I write to 4 of these devices, alternating between them, the second time I try to write to a device, the writing is not received, but when I exit the application and close the port, the message is received. I saw this on 2 similar devices and it is a bit random. Possible, it is a matter of the unit, but I don't see this problem when you use the tera term. We never seen it before?
I can post code, but it is a great application and I use the AMC add on.
Thank you
Matt
Using native serial or USB-to-serial adapters ports? USB adapters often behave in certain circumstances wrong with LabVIEW.
If he can be a bit of work around the problem, is it possible you can close the reference in LabVIEW just after writing of visa for 'forcing' the message, and then open again the serial port reference?

Hello
I want to read a string of NMEA (1 Hz update rate) of a server. The original NMEA (series, 4800 baud rate) is converted by a MOXA to TCP.
Here is my minimum program, I normally have a timer "wait until 1000ms" inside.
The problem is that the MOXA closes its other port every minute. I can still read, but everyone else is blocked.
Other Terminal programs work. The network guy told me that he sees a lot of traffic from my address and he thinks that, at some point, the MOXA is confused and shut its ports.
Is there a possibility that read TCP sends a string of status or failure?

How fast this device sends its strings? -What is simply spit data without any query command to be sent? If so your Moxa can be a problem too, because he doesn't know what to do with the data if there is no client connected to read. Also your Moxa converter can struggle to serve more than one client TCP on port even anyway. What should you do if several clients try to access the same port? Send the same message to everyone? Or send the incoming message randomly to one of them?
Do you get your TCP read once errors Moxa "closes" the port as you say? If so you should terminate your loop on any error except maybe a timeout error and reopen the port in a second outer loop until your program wants out. Your loop never stopping on the errors will prevent the close TCP to run that will keep open socket and prevent the Moxa to see good handshake that the connection has been properly closed by the customer, which will probably prevent the Moxa device able to accept new connections. Network communication can be tricky and one of the first things you have to learn is the appropriate error handling. No matter what mistake anywhere in the network connection, usually error timeout on reading, with the exception should be managed by closing the connection and tries to reconnect.

If Port 3389 must be open?
I use HP Desktop with Visat Home premium 32-bit with SP2 for Vista
Security is Norton
I've seen attempts at unsolicited incoming connections IP addresses connecting to this port, or at least try to connect (small notice number of bytes sent and received)
When I run netstat - ano, I see that port 3389 is in status "listens".
Shields Up indicates the port is "open".
I have not checked on remote help
a few questions come to mind
1 is this port open even if remote assistance is disabled by default on Vista?
2. How can I close this port?
Hello
By default, Remote Desktop uses port 3389 as listening to all the Remote Desktop connections incoming port. You can change the port to prevent any attack.
Step to change the listening port:
a. Click Start, and then type regedit in the search box start and press ENTER.
b. expand the registry files to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > control > TerminalServer > WinStations > RDP - Tcp
c. then, locate the registry key under:
PortNumber
d. on the Edit menu, click on edit and then, in her change the DWORD value, click decimal that will show us the exactportnumber.
e. Enter the new port number, and then click on the OK"" button.
f. exit the registry editor and restart your computer.See this link:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Remote-Desktop-connection-frequently-asked-questionsWARNING: this method contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you change the
Register incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it.
Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link:

Port of uplink on PowerConnect 8024F went to the D State down
Hi all
We had a strange behavior on one of our switches PowerConnect 8024F. The uplink port of the device (connected to a port on a Cisco Catalyst 6513 10Gig) came down. The output of 'show interfaces status' looked like this:

Now, can someone explain to me what the "D-Down" State means? I have not found anything in the documentation and using google not any success.

It's all associated spanning-tree protocols. D to the bottom is synonymous with diagnostic downwards, which occurs if more than 15 BPDU per second is received during 3 seconds. The switch closes the port. USL worker task is bound traffic so a big change covering tree cause it's really high.

SSH server check failure daemon SSH (sshd) is not running on port '22 '.
Hi guyz,
When installing the agent of control of cloud 12 c the following error message appears: failed check server SSH SSH daemon (sshd) does not run on port '22 '.
Why that port 22 is necessary? I can't find in the documentation. There will be a connection between hosts on the level of operating system command and FS. What data will be transferred? Can I close this port after installation?
Thank you in advance.
Please follow the below doc

2009 time capsule cannot connect to the internet via a modem
I had my 2009 Time Capsule or airport works very well with the modem from my ISP for years. I use the TC a hub wireless and backup. The upgrade of the modem: no problem. Over the weekend, there was a failure of the internet that has since been corrected for days. Since my TC failed to connect to the internet via the modem. I can get online via an ethernet cable from the modem to my two computers (one is a janky PC, the other bought a MacBook Pro in 2015), so I know it's not the modem.
I turned off and reset the modem several times. I turned off and reset the TC, repeatedly. I've reconfigured the TC twice per the instructions found in other discussions here. I _may_ not having the latest version of the software installed, but this has never been a problem in the past. Reconfiguration will display a green light, but in the diagnosis of the airport, it shows that it has not Internet even when connected via the Ethernet cable to the modem to work. Icons wireless on my laptop an exclamation or a warning icon.
The cable operator suggested that sometimes the router manufacturers 'close the ports' and must be reopened if the connection is down for awhile. It makes no sense to me, but I'm not very technical.
Any thoughts? Thank you very much
Renee
What is the number and the model of the modem?
There is a connection by Ethernet cable from the modem to time Capsule. The cable is connected to which port of the modem? The cable is connected to which port on the Time Capsule?
If you open AirPort Utility on your Mac... (Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility)... is displayed the image of the time Capsule? If Yes, when you click on the image, a small window pops up with an edit box... or... an option for installation manual appears at the bottom of the window?

I want to send data using labVIEW to arduino using write visa and the process and to take action using arduino. After that, I want to arduino to send out necessary via a serial port to labVIEW which should be read using visa read and store in a chain. While I am able to write or read both individually, I can't do it consecutively. I used advanced read and write vi for checking my code, but nothing is helping. The wrong bed 'time delay before execution. " Please let me know where I can go wrong. Also is it possible to write code for hx711 using labVIEW
1. you need not "\n" on your orders println(). This command adds an end of line character already in the message.
2. you get the error because you have a loop around your reading. After the first reading (well technically, the second because of you add an extra line end character), there is nothing left in the port. As a result, you will get the timeout.
3. you should really consider using a Structure of the event. This way you just don't write and read when you press the Write button and you can also use the structure of the event to make the loop to stop. I also go up to close the port inside the stop-> value Change event.

to convert decimal table table of Boolean
Hey all
I have a decimal table (or at least that's what I think it is).
the table is 1010 (and the number of bits can change depending on the application)
that 1010 is decimal. I want to convert that into a Boolean 1010, because I have to open close some ports in this logic.
Help, please
Thank you very much
Well done more to give
Your information is a little sparse, so I fill in some blanks by guessing...
1010 is not a table (and no Boolean value either!)
Is each figure part of the picture? What is the representation?
If each digit is a digital element of the array, just wire 'not equal zero' to the table and you will get an array of Boolean.
It might be easier if you can fix a simple VI which contains the table that you have and the table you want. Thank you!
