Close a program open to the users server in 2012

I'm new to servers in general and have used a local service company to get us set up and running, no problem.  I have the right to administer the server.  I am trying to install an update to a program, but it cannot install because a remote user closed their desktop connection remote without stopping the program.  I need to access the desktop of users on the server, so I can stop the program.  How can I do this?

Hello

Support for Windows Server is not provided in these forums. On the other hand, it please repost your question in the relevant Microsoft Technet forum here:

The problem is, Chkdsk will not fix this, and I can't access the file. This opens up a world of problems when I need to fix this error, so I can upgrade to Windows 7. Help, please!

I just ran the scan again. He said of the errors found, but could not be repaired.

This problem actually has nothing to do with internet explorer. It's the cookies folder that is corrupt in the Windows folder in roaming. The error file is in conjunction with the programs, that I try to run (AIM, Skype, so forth). Trying to enter the folder it says it's corrupt. I don't know what is the root of the problems or how to solve this problem, but these measures have not helped so far. Regarding the repair, I will try that next.

    Alas...

As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.

Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Click Start, run and enter the following command:

    regsvr32 appwiz.cpl

Click OK and you should see a message like this:

    DllRegisterServer in successful appwiz.cpl

Restart and see how things look now.

  • Program opens off the screen in a multiple monitor on Windows XP configuration

Original title: I URGENTLY need help with an XP several problem of monitor!

Our company has recently migrated to a new office and I got stuck with the displacement of all the computer systems to the new office. To make a long story short, one of our employees use four 4 monitors. After many difficulties, I finally got the monitors working as a horizontal screen with scrolling smoothly from left to right.

However, I have a BIG problem. One of the programs of this employee uses disappears (flies off the screen right most) when maximized. I can bring it by moving to the right screen, but I can't understand how to do that a permanent solution. ANYONE - your help would be appreciated. Is it a matter of swapping the screens? It was rather difficult to get properly prepared screens because it did not meet the order, I tried. Anyway, these people are rare flowers and get bent out of shape, if the program opens on the designated window. Is there a way to specify which window it can open on whether it can be remedied at all times?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Petrovsky9000,

Have you tried disabling 3 additional screens and then by testing the application? If you need help of deactivation and activation of the monitors, you can use the following as a guide:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/Setup/hwandprograms/monitors.mspx

If you always lose the application when the window is maximized, try the following:

    1. With 1 active display, maximize the application.
    2. In the display properties window, set the resolution of the single screen for a step down from where it is now and apply the changes.
    3. Accept the new resolution, and now to see if your application is in the center of the screen.
    4. Now go ahead and set the resolution to what it was and and apply the changes.
    5. Make sure the application is always visible and maximized correctly. If so, go ahead and turn the other 3 views and see if everything works properly.
Here are a few steps that solved the problem for my own systems in the past. I hope this helps!

Thank you, Ned.   I got it to where the program opens behind the Welcome screen.  I would like to get rid of have that arise every time.  This isn't in CS5 - but at least I get the program!

I have no familiarity with the program to be able to tell what to do.  If it's like other Adobe software, there should be a setting in preferences (assuming that there is an option) that allows you to dictate how the programs opens.

In the software that I use the most, for example, if you select Edit-> preferences, the Panel that opens has what see you below where you can choose what the program has when it is launched...

  • Problems to open PDF files after the upgrade of the file server for 2012 R2

    Hello

This weekend we have improved our main Windows 2003 to 2012 R2 file server.

Since the upgrade, users (including myself) cannot open a PDF of the file server.  If I double click on a PDF file, it opens as usual, but if I double click a different PDF, the acrobat reader flashes (in the Task Manager I can see another instance AcroRd32.exe starts and stops) but the second document does not open.

If I close the first document and then try and open the other, and then it opens without any problem.

This only affected the opening of files on the new file server, opening several files on a local disk is very good.

If I disable 'enable protected mode at startup' then I can open several documents of the file server.  I would prefer not to have to do.

Users are using Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 on 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop.

Does anyone have any ideas, it may be the cause?  And does anyone have one solution other than to disable the protected mode?

    Thank you

    Joe

    Hello

Try the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and check if the problem still exists or goes.

It can be downloaded from Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install for all versions

  • Each program opens in the command prompt

    Original title: default window program.

all the open program in cmd EPM. I click on any program it will open in the cmd program.  I would like to put the program icon in the default set. so, what can I do?

There is a small free utility written earlier to unassociate mainly shortcuts (.) LNK files)) a bad file association execution but it runs on the. Association of EXE file as well. The ' catch 22 ', is that the program itself is a.. EXE, so it cannot be opened unless it is renamed to unassoc.com. I renamed the executable file of the public service and placed a copy in the public area of my DropBox for you. I'll probably remove it after some time then you want after return once you have it.

    UnAssoc.com

    UnAssoc_ReadMe.txt

Just download and then run the utility to unassociate the. EXE files. Select. EXE from the list on the left and click on remove the associated file (user) or remove the file type , and then restart the computer.

  • All programs open in the small window

    Original title: ask the community

Windows 8.  All programs open in a small window. How to vary the size of this window, or alternatively, to have the new window opens automatically full size?

    Thank you

    Hi Matt

Yes, I have had this problem since I bought the computer.

However, I tried your suggestion and, guess what, IT WORKED!

I am so happy.  Thanks for your help. Something so simple but if you don't know what to try then it can be so frustrating.

Incidentally (and this is not a complaint) by clicking on desktop icons now open full-screen windows, which suits me very well, but when I hit the screen button "reduced" on a window then all windows to open in reduced format, but ALL are EVEN smaller.  I'll play a little more but thanks again. You have made my day.

  • Blank PDFs open while the user uses the Web browser

One of the users of our company presents a strange problem with Adobe Reader and Internet usage. Randomly when it is on the internet reader will open 1 empty PDF. After leaving this black PDF that opens without apparent reason, a second blank PDF opens. Only after the closing of the windows of the second PDF, reader cease to open a blank PDF.

To be clear, the question, I was in his office when open PDF files on him, and he has not yet clicked a PDF file to view. It just seems to happen after he clicks on a link on the web.

He uses Windows 7 professional 64-bit, and I'm sure he's got Reader X or later version on his machine.

I think he uses Google Chrome browser when that happens, but he said recently this problem with Internet Explorer, "accidentally, I open internet explore and click on an article of new KETV.»  This time the problem of pdf did not stop.  He opened several tabs for the article I've tried to see. And he tried to open a pdf file, sometimes more than one pdf for each open tab.  "I got caught in a cycle until I used the Task Manager to kill it."

If you have an idea why this is happening please let me know.

    Thank you

I found the solution to my problem, fortunately. If ever, someone else come across this problem and found this post. Users were using Reader 9. So I have updated their XI player and did not have the problem again. If this never happens on the road once again, I would say to upgrade to the latest version and you shouldn't have the problem more.

  • Determine if a port is open on the remote server

I am trying to write a function to determine if a port is opened on a remote server. I want to do it in ColdFusion.

See below for what I come up with so far

The problem I have with this method is that on broly, it takes 20 seconds to return. I found methods using InetSocketAddress which allows you to set a time-out, but that doesn't seem to be available in ColdFusion

I'm certainly not stuck on Sockets so it another method that works.

    I use CF 7 on Server 2003

    Thank you

That seems to work exactly as I hoped.

    Thank you!
