• Is there an equivalent for Photoshop adjustment layer masks After Effects?

  I have a clip showing the clouds in a blue sky and the Valley in the bluish shade, and I want to darken the blues of the sky without affecting the Valley. Effects such as Hue/Saturation or curves produce good results on the sky, but apply to the entire composition.

  In Photoshop I would just do something like painting a gradient on the adjustment layer mask, but I don't see an equivalent in after effects CC2015.2 and wonder if I forgot something. Pointers?

  Mast track controls are in the Modes Panel. The second icon in the lower left corner of the timeline will reveal the switches and modes column in the timeline panel, or you can press F4 to switch between them. If the second icon is not selected, then you should also see a switch at the bottom of the column switches switches/Modes.

  Here's how I would setup a colour correction in this train yard shot to put a glance Kodachrome faded on the bottom of the frame without turning the yellow sky.

• Masking of the scale on the adjustment layer issues

  Hi all

  First of all I'm new to Premiere Pro. but I ran into a few problems that resemble bugs for me.  But if someone can put me right I would appreciate it.

  For example, I have a static image on a layer, revised downward to more small as the size of the total composition.

  I have an adjustment layer on it with an opacity mask, subtract blending mode, reversed.  The resulting crop all away from my picture out of the mask.  So far so good.

  If I then add keyframes to the scale of my image, I get a zoom effect, while the size of the image is the same (the size of my mask), that's what I want to achieve...

  However, a further review, there is a very faint line that shows outside of the mask, expanding outwards, which seems to be the contours of the image unmasked.  :-(  That is the number 1 issue.

  If I also add keyframes for opacity on the image, at the same time, I have a weird effect, almost as if the mask is ignored, because the image grows and becomes more opaque, but then finally catches up with the mask.  Almost as if, opacity, scale, and hide is just too much for the program to process.

  I tried rendering the project, but both of these issues show on the finished film.

  While experimenting with ideas to try to overcome the problem I also tried the feathers at the edge of the image... but giving still more bizarre results, with the edge to feathers, showing outside the masked area.

  Suggestions as to how I can get the result of desire would be appreciated.  (Who is to have an image, most smaller than the whole of the composition, but that remains the same size, zooms.  I would also like to be able to fade in).

  Whenever I have similar problems, they are usually resolved by nesting the clips to force the order of effects.

• Reduction of noise in CS5 workflow: still possible to do it on an adjustable layer?

• "Adobe Photoshop cc has stopped working" when I click on an adjustment layer

  I get this message "Adobe Photoshop CC has stopped working".

  I've done everything there is on the help site. Still no luck. Here's what happens:

  Photoshop opens and I can work with it. It seems that almost all functions work perfectly, HOWEVER... When I try to access an adjustment layer, say the levels, then Photoshop will stop. Strangely, if I select the black & white adjustment layer, it WORKS? The OTHERS don't.

  I also had on the Adobe help forum and can't help and say it could be a flaw in Windows

  740 NVIDIA graphics card

  Avast security

  The modules work perfectly in Safe Mode BUT not when I do a clean reboot.

  I also did the following:

  Creates a new user

  Run FIXIT

  SFC/SCANNOW

  Uninstalled and re installed Photoshop CC

  Uninstalled and re installed Driver Nvidia

  Restored to the old NVIDIA driver

  Uninstalled all drivers (Wacom tablet & external HD)

  There were also times that I could not get into the event viewer (this message appeared "Microsoft Management Console has stopped working")

  b. what fixit did you run, when you say "Run FIXIT"?

  You have tried most of the linear troubleshooting, it can be concluded that the question could arise also following a conflict of third-party software that impede the performance of Adobe Photoshop CC. To diagnose the problem, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

  Method 1:

  It is possible that the application has not been uninstalled properly and have hampered after the new installation. I suggest to try to start the next fixit and then try to install the program Photoshop CC.

  If the problem persists, try the following method.

  Method 2:

  When adding an adjustment layer icon in the layers panel using the 'Alt' key closes the choice rather than to name the adjustment layer and add a mask.  I set the preferences automatically create a mask, and let me quote the layer.

  So are the ways that I can get the name box to appear (on CC2015.5):

  All first using menus
  a. click Layer

  b. left click - new adjustment layer

  c. click appropriate adjustment layer type

  d. layer naming dialog appears

  Secondly, using the settings panel

  alt - left click on the settings icon.

  b. layer naming dialog appears

  Third using the icon create new fill or adjustment layer in the layers panel

  a. press the Alt key and keep it is pressed

  b. right click on the "create new fill or adjustment layer icon" and the button right mouse down

  c. move the mouse over the type of adjustment layer in the menu

• Paint over the video after the addition of adjustment layer?

  Hi all

  I have a little video, 30 seconds, and I try to draw the frame by frame on top of the video with a brush. While it's easy I would first change the black and white video. By adding a black and white adjustment layer, it does not allow with a brush. I was wondering if there was another way to select all the images in the video and change it to black and white while helping paint me over it frame by frame.

  I struggled to learn by trial and error, so my workflow is questionable, but I'll try and at least help you get started.  My screenshot is too big for the page, then click to expand to see comfortably.

  So I started with a group of video with the Lady driving a cow.  This is the video Group 1.  With the video layer selected in the layers panel, I add a B & W adjustment panel and my video becomes black and white.

  To add an animation on top of that, I have to make a new video group using the small movie icon at the left end of the Timeline.

  For me, I see the second group of video, and so I have to drag the timeline at the bottom of the page and make more great by dragging its lower edge.

  You need something to draw, so with the video Group 2 twirl open, add a layer. It will be too long, but don't worry at this stage.

  Make your drawing on this layer.  If you want that the animation to change two images, move forward two frames of the time indicator and use the scissors to cut the video group at that time.

  You will need to market the onion skins (steal our in the upper right corner of the scenario)

  You will now be able to see a ghost of the last image to use as a guide to draw on the other.

  Note: every time you cut the track, it will create a new layer draw.  By clicking on an item in the Assembly will select this layer.

  Therefore, my axe up to attempt using video editing for animation.  Until very recently I agreeing me with those who cannot not work why onion skins isn't available only for video and image animations.  It was an ordinary user error!   I'm sure that you'll be able to Polish my clumsy workflow, and I'd appreciate a heads up if you do.

• Small white dots on the adjustment layer.

  Starting from 23/11/2015, I had a problem using the curves adjustment layer.  When I invert the layer and then use a brush to paint where I want the layer to show, it gives me little white dots everywhere.  Does anyone else have this problem.

  I had a problem like this in the past, but it was encircling as a selection.  Now these are the points.

  I don't know that I'm not the only one seeing this.  I looked at the form and and do not see anyone else talking about it, or I just forgot.  When I export the creative video using an adjustment layer my video flickers. I noticed it especially when adding a vignette. Could it be that I'm the only one?

  I'm looking for help to set up an adjustment layer to compensate for a specific lens coloring problem. Basically, I use a GoPro (on a drone) but I got a flat lens of spare parts. The sharpness is good, but the lens has a well-known problem: it translates into a pink coloring around the edges/corners. Most of the time it is barely perceptible, sometimes he jumps. It also depends on the screen, that I use for example. My TV seems to bring out a lot more than my laptop.

  Since any change in RGB channels influence the tonal scale, perhaps to the laboratory, with m/g-b/y juxtaposition and distinct tone level would be a logical choice. Here, a few sweeping curves (and a rough mask, sorry about that) need to be addressed.

• Adjustment layer to make my black videos!

  When I use the adjustment on top of my videos layer, as soon as I use ANY effect my video goes black. If I delete the effects my video shows once again. It happens on all the projects I have and it's annoying because I use the adjustment layer to create a look, and then I can control intensity by reducing the opacity. If I apply the same effects directly on clips, works very well.

  Adjustment layers are not supported for XML FCP so it would never work unfortunately. I don't see the problem you describe well how the adjustment layer is interpreted varies depending on whether you have exported the sequence or the project However, the point is irrelevant since the adjustment layer will never properly no matter how export you the XML file.

• Failed to create a mask on the adjustment layer

  I want to apply motion tracking to mask data, that is why I am trying to use an adjustment layer to control the position of the mask.   Adjustment layers are applied not necessarily affect alpha channels. You could simply cut the adjustment layer and then use the adjustment layer has a matte.
