Code 19: Unrecognized DVD player
My DVD player suddenly stopped working on my laptop, literally from one day to the next. I tried running the kb314060 of Mr. Fixit, but when he tried to reinstall the driver, it failed.
I don't know exactly what to do now...

Error code 39 on DVD player?
My dvd drive is not being recognized. Device Manager gives a code 39. When I try to update the driver, I said that I have the latest driver available. Equipped with Vista.
Hello
Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.
Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
the question.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

IDE error - unrecognized DVD player - Satellite 2410-504 #1
Hello, recently I got a rug * a dvd - ram UJ - 831 s Reader installed to replace by my insurance policy in my Toshiba Satellite s2410-504. The car worked well until recently, when I get the IDE #1 error at startup, then the drive does not appear in Windows - Win Explorer or Device Manager. I tried to update the firmware for the recommended: DVD + r / + RW/RAM Drive(UJ-831) F / W revision: V102. But I got the message that the drive is not connected when I am asked to open it. I want to emphasize that I tried this update when the drive is actually (sometimes is just appear randomly, sometimes it appears after the release of the standby mode)
I also tried 4 or 5 times the resettlement of the drive with no luck. How can I fix my drive? I have read on the bypass and master/slave problems but not too sure about this or if it's the right thing to do.
Thanks in advance for your help,
DavidHmm, it would be very interesting to know if this message appears.
For me, this looks like an auto damage with a bad firmware.> I get the message that the drive is not connected when I am asked to open it
For most of these messages are displayed if the drive is not connected OR the firmware was bad. I think that it s because of the second possibility.Maybe the firmware has changed the master/slave/c-salt settings and now the BIOS does not recognize the disc correctly.

Hello
Someone help on this?
I have an A-100 and the DVD player has stopped working in XP. I checked the Device Manager and see XP disc but returns this error "Windows cannot initialize the device of this hardware driver. (Code 37) »
I also noticed that ASAPI.sys is not running in the Task Manager.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the problem.
I tried to reinstall the device drivers, but this made no difference. Any suggestions?
Hello
Error code 37 means the driver returned failure from its DriverEntry routine.
You can try to delete the driver from Device Manager and rebooted the new OS should recognize the drive device and initialize the driver again.If this is not enough, try this procedure:
Run REGEDIT and open the following folders:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
-> SYSTEM
-> CurrentControlSet
-> Control
-> Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}After you click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should see two settings on the right side:
"Upperfilters".
'Lowerfilters '.Click on each of them, press DELETE, and then click YES.
Then restart the laptop and see if it was useful.

Hello microsoft forums,.
Last night I tried to play a DVD in my Dvd Player. It would not work and does not appear in the computer so I tried several other discs. I went into Device Manager on my driver and it says:

Update Vista causing an error code 10 on my dvd player
After one of my systems reformatting, I get an error code 10 on my dvd player. Everything works fine until the updates for Vista (Vista Home Basic) are installed, then the drive is dead. I replaced the drive, but got the same thing. I tried to uninstall the device and update the driver in Device Manager and I get an error telling me that the unit was not installed correctly.
Any suggestions...?
Thank you

Understand the Extras in Windows Vista and Windows Update info is at the link above.
Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:
1. a System Restore to before the updates:
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next
If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.
If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:
Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.
System restore steps according to the info above.
Also:
2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window
> then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
> Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
> or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
DVD player not recognized; error code 10
Our Museum has a Dell Optiplex 745 on which the XP operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 Professional. The DVD drive is not recognized, and the error code 10 stipulates that the driver could not be loaded. I tried upgrading the driver online, but I was told that the driver installed is the right one for this player. If I remove the drive with the machine on, uninstall the driver, stop and then restart and then restarting to reinsert the DVD, the computer recognizes the drive and install it and it works. When you restart the computer the next morning, the car disappeared again. Would appreciate any help I can get!
Thank you!
Does anyone know how to unlock region on a CD-ROM DVD player codes?
Does anyone know how to unlock region on a CD-ROM DVD player codes? I have this stupid Windows 8 and so far I only have PowerDVD. But I also have windows media player. I am trying to get Windows Media Player to access the DVD that I used for Windows 7, but whenever I stick one in this computer stupid, by default it starts to Power DVD.
According to the power dvd faq: "the limit is in accordance with the requirements specified by the major movie studios. PowerDVD allows you to change the codes of the region up to 5 times (also depending on your DVD player) and then automatically record fifth region code setting. Subsequently, you can only play DVD titles in the fifth code region or non - CSS all regions DVD titles. Area code will remain locked even if you reinstall PowerDVD. »
Is there by chance a legal way around this? I wish I could watch my DVDs on my laptop when I want without locking on my other. I don't do anything illegal as piracy of DVDs, I just want to be able to watch them. Could someone please? Thanks in advance.
Use another program like VLC player or Potplayer.
It's by design, not much you can do about it. He was there for Vista/XP
Otherwise, you will have to Flash a hack of firmware for this DVD region
