collect system statistics in a CCR environment
11.2.0.2OEL 5, 2 node rac
If you gather system statistics it populates the sys.aux_stats$. How does this work on a 2 node rac where you can have 1 with favorite services for oltp and other nodes with a service for favorite batch? I want to get different statistics on the other node to different purposes.
Collect stats system (automatic or manual setting) on a single node affect the other? I remember vaguely a node that said I could change if I need but can't locate it on playback support.

There is only one set of statistics the system, visible by all instances. It's what you want, assuming that the nodes are the same. Two instances must this information be correct, regardless of the type of work they perform. I suppose it is theoretically possible to have two nodes with different processors and disk controllers, in which case it could be a problem - is it really you?

MBRC and SYSTEM STATISTICS in Oracle database 10g.
Hi all
I am performing the upgrade of Oracle 8i Solaris database to Oracle 10 g HP - UX using the exp/IMP.
But I have some doubts about the MBRC and system statistics.
MBRC in Oracle 10 g is adjusted automatically if MBRC parameter is not defined, but I found the value 128 as shown below.
Also, I made a simple full table scan to test... but read scattered file db performs on 128 blocks. So I don't think that 128 and is automatic, I mean MBRC is not defined in consequence he always uses 128.SQL> select * from v$version; BANNER ---------------------------------------------------------------- Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production CORE 10.2.0.4.0 Production TNS for HPUX: Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.4.0 - Production SQL> sho parameter multi NAME TYPE VALUE ------------------------------------ -------------------------------- ------------------------------ db_file_multiblock_read_count integer 128
The MBRC value affects the performance of the whole base?
About SYSTEM STATISTICS, I found below result:
Now if it is better NOWORKLOAD or workload, and this server is still in the process of building... so how can I accumulate the workload statistics, as it is not possible to make a high load on this server? Is he really need to collect system statistics, what will happen with stats NOWORLOAD?SQL> select * from AUX_STATS$ SNAME PNAME PVAL1 PVAL2 ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ---------- -------------------------------------------------- SYSSTATS_INFO STATUS COMPLETED SYSSTATS_INFO DSTART 11-09-2009 04:59 SYSSTATS_INFO DSTOP 11-09-2009 04:59 SYSSTATS_INFO FLAGS 1 SYSSTATS_MAIN CPUSPEEDNW 128.239557 SYSSTATS_MAIN IOSEEKTIM 10 SYSSTATS_MAIN IOTFRSPEED 4096 SYSSTATS_MAIN SREADTIM SYSSTATS_MAIN MREADTIM SYSSTATS_MAIN CPUSPEED SYSSTATS_MAIN MBRC SYSSTATS_MAIN MAXTHR SYSSTATS_MAIN SLAVETHR
I saw no single database where system stats are gathered in our organization with more than 2000 databases.

performance degrades after the collection of statistics
Oracle 11 g 2 OEL 5
We have several very large tables (40 million lines and more) and recently we gathered stats on tables and it degraded our performance. He began to do table scans complete rather than use the index. The same queries are very well in other environments. Only difference is the collection stats. Logically, the performance should be better after the collection of statistics. But it is rather poor.
I ran track 10053 on request and I see that the cardinality and the cost is medium high in the inefficient environment. A test, I have restored the old stats in the environment and it put everything back to normal - the query runs quickly again. Note that the restored stats were collected for more than a year. Should not collect us statistics regularly on very large tables?
Thank you.Hello
the stats of the default collection behavior is to determine the number of cells (i.e. a histogram is necessary or not and if yes, how accurately must be) automatically, depending on distribution and usage of the column of data in different types of predicates. This means that, in many cases collection histogram is almost a random process - once you get a histogram, the next time that you don't have, even if there is almost no change. This is (unfortunately) the normal behavior.
I could quite at the bottom of your question - the optimizer esteem seem to be all correct in the second case, it is not clear to me why the plan that is so bad (there are also some other problems, as lines of 40G supposed to be returned by one of the nested loops, or estimation of cardinality missing for another nested loop). But in any case, histograms and bind variables do not mix, so you can just solve your problem by specifying method_opt => "for columns
- size 1' to disable the histograms for this table.

The system could not find the environment option that was entered.
I have Vista Home Premium. I must have met a significant corruption or a virus. Here's what the system won't let me do.
System restore
Launch any program exe
run cmd as administrator
launch msconfig
Basically, everything I download don't throw (including several ladies virus recommended this forum and others)
If it's a virus, he got by AVG free edition
Safe mode does not enable all the options I get always "the system could not find the environment option that was entered."
It of almost as if someone really took time to reflect on how to thwart an attack and then implemented in the opposite direction. Is blowing the entire disk and back at my only option?
Help!; 0
Zitouni,
Thanks for your reply, good point on the File Checker, I didn't know that. Unforuneatly I have not see your reply until I decided it was time to re - install the system. One thing to note, I couldn't do a 'run as administrator' anyway possible. This system was really corrupt which leads me to believe that he may have been a NTFS/Fat 32 Co-mingling question. Just a guess, but I really don't see how it could have happened otherwise.
Another thing to note, if you have a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a 250Gig HD-make sure that you format the partition, you then load the SATA drivers! Also, make sure that the restore partition does not primary. Make sure that you format (assuming that you have backed up your data before!). Otherwise, it hangs on Setup to complete the installation. Who took me ahwhile to understand.
Everything is cool now (reinstalled Vista), just thank ful there is a site like this to run things by! ;)

The system could not find the environment that has been entered - option Windows 7
I don't know what I was doing at the computer before this problem started. However, I first noticed that something was wrong when I tried to open the photo viewer and was faced with the problem of the impossibility to find the module specified for this program. In an attempt to solve this problem, I tried to download and install the Photo Gallery in Windows Live and this is when I first discovered that my system has this problem.
I went online to search for solutions to these problems, but none of the solutions worked. Here are the steps that I tried in vain that the system could not find the environment option that was entered.
I tried open CMD with administrator privileges but am unable to do so. Once more, the next step on the start-up of the Installation DVD of Win 7 to use the Startup Repair tool doesn't have that the system was unable to find the environment option that was entered. I proceeded to try to use the system restore, but is facing the same problem too.
This is the report on my existing variables according to the steps there. But unfortunately, this thread has shown no solution, that I could undertake, given that I can't open Regedit too.

Can someone help me please? I think to reformat my computer if this continues (think of how to do it now I can't run the Windows 7 Installation disc either).
Thank you very much.
Nicholas CYou can probably fix your problem by using the system restore. Here's how it works:
1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
2. select Repair from the menu.
3. Enter the administrator password when you are prompted. It is often empty.
4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
5. set Windows to a point before this problem occurred. -
System could not find the environment option that was entered.
The Trend Micro Client caused a bit of stir in my computer.
He gave me the UiSeAgnt.exe error and I couldn't open any .exe files. I uninstalled Trend Micro and that pop up more rises. But the "System could not find the environment option/variable is entered" is yet to come when I try to run the .exe. This means that same cmd cannot be opened. I can not connect to the Internet independently wireless or wired. Audio system is not even the sense system speakers or external audio devices.
I tried the system restore, did not work. I tried SFC/scannow, did not work. Now my current idea is to back up my files and blow the computer on with a clean restore. What should I do? I use a Vaio E series 14 p, btw.
If it really comes down to it, how much memory should I backup everything?
Hi Vey,
Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft community.
Your system is connected to a domain network?
This problem occurs in situations where Shutdown.exe cannot access the UserDomain environment variable. The task of the judgment which is on demand by using the at command runs under the system account. When the task is run under the System account, the UserDomain environment variable are not accessible because it does not exist. But the problem occurs mainly on the areas of server.
I would suggest trying the following steps and check if these help to resolve the issue.
1. start your system in safe mode.
2. press on the Windows key + R.
3. type sysdm.cpl , and then click OK.
4. click on the "Advanced" tab
5. in "Startup and recovery", click "Environment Variables".
6. under "System Variables", click 'new '.
7. for "Variable name", type in windir%
8. for 'Value of the Variable', type in C:\Windows
9. click OK on the all the dialog boxes that pop up.
10. restart your system in normal mode.
If, however, your system is connected to the normal mode, please see the following support article.
Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

Running in parallel in a CCR environment
Hello
I receive the advice of the parameter parallel_force_local to true to allow freqency queries that are run on a specific node in a CCR environment.
Parallel_force_local (= false) default behavior is to allow the execution of a SQL statement on any or all the Oracle RAC nodes.
I think that this defect can spread to the top of the 'load' on all nodes.
What can be the advantage of set to true?
Thanks and greetings
(When setting this parameter), the question is whether or not you want parallel processing for crossing borders (node RAC) h/w?
There is a fee for the h/w border crossing (paid via interconnection).
There is a fee for not crossed limits h/w (paid by using more memory from the local server, e/s of bandwidth and CPU resources).
Extreme example: If you have a 12 server with 96 cores, 512 GB of RAM and more than 8GB fiber channel pipes to the SAN - it makes sense to keep a large load of parallel and local processing on the server. If you have a server 2 socket (without seeds), 16 GB of RAM and a 4GB fiber channel pipe at the SAN - it makes sense to allocate a large load of parallel processing, in several of these servers.

Collection of statistics takes forever after adding new index - why?
Hello everyone,
I'm on Oracle 11.2.0.2. Collection of statistics for one of my paintings takes extremely long (several hours), and I don't know why.
I'm inserting about 11,000 new records in a table with 5.3 million existing records using a INSERT INTO... SELECT...
This insert takes a little more than 3 minutes
Then I collect stats using:
DBMS_STATS.gather_table_stats ('SCOTT', 'S_RMP_EVALUATION_CSC_MESSAGE', estimate_percent = > DBMS_STATS.) AUTO_SAMPLE_SIZE);
It takes 2 hours.
If the number of records increases, the time it takes for the stats increases (8 hours after 70,000 newly inserted records)
I don't have this problem until recently, I created the I_S_RMP_EVAL_CSC_MSG_ACTIONSindex, but I do not understand why it would cause a radical change like that. Especially since the insertion of records to update the index takes only a few minutes.
I'm writing the create for the table and the index statements in the table below.
There are about 5.3 million records in the table. The table uses about 7.8 GB of space for the 'regular' table data and 37.6 GB for the LOB. Use the index:
Index Space used I_S_EVALUATION_CSC_MSG_LMID:

What causes this extreme long to collect statistics, and what I can do to fix that (apart from the removal of the index again)? Why collect stats lasts much longer than the update data and indexes?
Thank you...
It's a VIRTUAL column - Oracle does not store the value of the function in the table for each line, it simply records the description of the decisive function in the column definition in the data dictionary. The index takes the calculated actual value (with the identifier of the line from each value), but Oracle does not have a mechanism to watch the index when collecting column statistics. (In fact, such a mechanism could only be created for a single column still index).

Collection of statistics online
Hi all
Is it possible to collect statistics for a schema that use sound. When I try to analyse the tables to a diagram, it shows that the statistics for this table are locked. So is it possible that rather than analyze a table, one by one, I can go for gathering statistics for schema objects of this scheme while is still in use (such as DML or select statements issued on these schema objects).
DB version: 10.2.0.4
Version of the OS: RHEL 5.8
DB type: CARS
Kind regards
Imran KhanImran khan says:
Hi Mark,Why is there a question about the inability to update statistics? Someone has locked the collection of statistics.
How can we check if statistics collection has been locked? Are you talking about on the level of the db, or for a particular schema or its purpose? As far as I know in oracle 10g statistics are collected automatically (if I have a lot of m).

Well, as SB said, just look at the relevant information in the documentation for your version.
If you don't have local copies of the documentation for your version, you can find copies for recent versions here:
http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/documentation/index.html
(or docs.oracle.com or tahiti.oracle.com)
I recommend you watch DBMS_STATS package and the [USER |] ALL THE | S/n] _TAB_STATISTICS view (s).

Collection of statistics with the cascade option is slow
Hi all.
The database is 11.2.0.3 on a linux machine.
I published the following command, but the session was a bit slow.
The size of the table is about 50 GB and has 3 clues.
I said 'degree = 8' for parallel processing.
When collecting statistics on the table, parallel slaves have been invoked and gather statistics on the table ended pretty quickly.
However, when he goes to the collection of statistics on indexes, only an active session was invocked and so "level = 8" option is ignored.
My question is:
Do I need to use dbms_stats.gahter_index_stats instead of the option "cascade" in order to gather statistics on indexes with parallelism?
Thanks in advance.exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'SDPSTGOUT',tabname=>'OUT_SDP_CONTACT_HIS',estimate_percent=>10, degree=>8 , method_opt=>'FOR ALL COLUMNS SIZE 1',Granularity=>'ALL',cascade=>TRUE);
Best regards.Hello
This could happen due to the index being created as NOPARALLEL. Try to redefine with DOP = 8 and see if that helps (running a quick test to verify this before making any expensive DDLS).
Best regards

Collect table statistics take longer for large tables
Version: 11.2
I noticed brings his stats (via dbms_stats.gather_table_stats) takes more time for the large tables.
As number of rows must be calculated, collection of statistics on the table a big would naturally be a little longer (running COUNT (*) SELECT internal).
But for a table not partitioned with 3 million lines, it took 12 minutes to retrieve the stats? Outside the County info and the row index what other information is collected for the table stats gather?
Size of the Table is actually important for the collection of statistics?USER_TABLES DESC

I have to run a package to "gathering statistics?
