Color picker: hue 360 degrees, no more?

I wonder if anyone knows why there are 360 degrees of tint to select... is this a theoretical choice, a technical limitation or a choice of design? I wonder if there are more colors out there? Are there replacing swatches to install? Any suggestion of mixing colors in Photoshop for a higher selection color granularity...

Thank you!

It seems that the human eye cannot really detect the difference between ~ 2-3 degrees away from hue, this is probably why the selection set is as discreet. So maybe it was a design choice?

The Photoshop document that you are working is in RGB color Mode and the Illustrator document that you are working is CMYK.

  • Properties Color Picker in Fireworks CS4 picks up is more color

I upgraded to OS Lion yesterday and this morning have noticed that the colors in the properties pane selector at the bottom of the screen no longer works. I only will change color if I select one of nuance, but not of an element on the page. I can only change to a different color by manually entering the hex code. It's incredibly long, for a variety of tasks such as change the font colors, color swap, color fill etc etc. !

Don't know if the upgrade of the OS has nothing to do with it, but it's the only thing that has changed on my computer since yesterday.

Does anyone have ideas how I can get around this or if there aosme other settings I can change to make it work again? Thank you!

  • Display the color, the color picker dialog box (like colorbox click)

    Hello everyone

I wish next (problem?). I want to show the colordialog that usually appears when you click a color box, control clicking on a cell of a listbox control.

Here are a few screenshots to see more clearly my problem. The main thing is that it is not possible to manipulate the labviews legends, in a way, I want. This is why I want to use the diagram below. To save space, I would like to the first column of color with the color of the plot. It all works perfectly.

I just want to change the os of color, plot and the cell by the nice color picker.

Do you have any idea how to do to access this object.

I am aware that I could use .NET but ist would be nice to have the labviews one.

    Best regards

    Gernot

I really don't see the issue. See this snippet (drag it into a diagram to use) - a single click displays the selector, the second allows you to select the color.

360 degree Image Slider is a jQuery plugin. If I have a glance at Sixty Slider, this example is much faster that the one you are referring to.

It's an accessible HUD color picker by Shift + Alt + right click.

HUD means "Heads up Display" as instrumentation placed in front of the driver, so it doesn't have a glance down to read.

Some like the idea of appeal place a color picker from of them to choose a foreground color, rather than join their attention from the document panel color to choose a color to paint for example. It is not as complete presented as the color Panel, but for some, it is enough and a time saver.

Enter Photoshop general preferences, you have the choice between the band of Hue (which is shown in your screenshot) or a color wheel in a selection of sizes.

And that's the point of the HUD color picker.

  • Color picker will appear when you move the first Pro CC

    Anyone else having this problem...

Sometimes when I leave on Adobe Premiere Pro CC, the color picker appears.  After that I closed the color picker, first farm in unexpected ways as usual, but sometimes I have to close the Color Picker 3 times before it goes away.

It is not always do and I can't understand what triggers it (besides the creation of quitting).

I run on Windows 8.  First Pro CC v7.0.1 (105).  I only started noticing in this first Pro CC was last updated.

This bug has landed on my plate recently for investigation, and today I managed to nail a case simple repro: in AE, copy one or more solids or adjustment layers to the Clipboard (or a model containing materials solid/AdjLayers), then right-click in the project Panel of the body, chronology, or the effect controls panel. I get one instance of the color picker for each solid copied to the Clipboard.

A workaround for this repro case is something else that a solid layer or adjustment copy to the Clipboard before right-clicking in the BODY.

Edited to add: I meet the color picker only the first time I did a right click in the body after setting focus on the application. Also, once a solid AE or AdjLayer on the Clipboard, this bug can be reproed whenever body regains the focus, regardless of whether the app had changed focus.

If the color picker is popping up for you in cases that do not fit the scenario that I just described, please send me a private message I want followed to isolate your case.

    Hello

I remember this one looked more complicated than it is.

The color picker is not a real after effects user interface, but it's an OS user interface. Is not in the SDK of EI, but in the SDK of ExtendScript (JavaScript Tools Guide)

    $.colorPicker (name)

name: the color to be shortlisted in the dialog, as an RGB hex (0xRRGGBB) value, or - 1 for the default value of the platform.

    Return number

    defaultColor var = 0xff0000;

    var color = $.colorPicker (defaultColor);

  • Problem of color picker

    Hello

A problem that I've never experienced with Photoshop CS4 (running on Windows 7).  I can't seem to find a solution online, so I hope that someone here will have some suggestions.

In fact, when I shoot to the top of my color picker, I have more a smooth gradient of color; Instead, I'm getting that radiate to the upper left corner.  "Only Web colors" is not checked, but my Color picker appears much as it would if it had been checked (only the banding is less accurate - maybe to halfway between the way he normally looks and the way he usually expects the checkmark Web colors).  It is also causing my brushes behaving oddly; the colors are interacting in a funny way, producing mixtures really desaturated sometimes, and other times, appearing almost to have some sort of effect of burning/multiply current.  All the layers and brushes are set to normal and the image mode is RGB.

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them.  The only thing I did recently I can think who might have caused it is an update of Windows on a bunch of my drivers, yesterday afternoon, which included updates to my graphics card and the Wacom tablet.

What you see in the devices tab, is that it uses.

And I think it is without doubt the Dell factory profile for this monitor, given its name.  I suspect that it's wrong, that's why you see display problems.

You can choose to go in one of two directions from here...

    1. you can buy a color calibration device and generate your own profile, which will replace the one you have now.  This will ensure that you have accurate colors, but I don't think anyone can guarantee that you will not see some banding.

    2. you can replace the one you have now with a "well known" generic profile (sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1) and see how it works.  This will almost certainly remove the problems you see with the color picker and color you see in Photoshop under several conditions correspond to your non-management applications colors.  What it won't do is give you calibrated color.  You might find, depending on your monitor, sRGB documents will appear more saturated color.

Maybe you could try #2 first, experimental (costs nothing)...

    • Start - type color management, click color management when it comes to the top.
    • Devices of tab, make sure your monitor is registered at the top.
    • Click on the [] use my settings for this device check box.
    • Click on the [Add...] button.
    • Add profile sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 and set it as default.

After doing the above and before the test, it's a good idea to log out of Windows and back again to make sure that everything takes effect.

Note that you can return it to the feature from before if you just uncheck the [use my settings for this box of the device.

I'm curious to know if the sRGB profile will heal the strapping you see.

  • Sample of color picker

    Hello

I have created multiple instances of the base color picker component, using a color picker bound library.

I was wondering if it is possible to change what color are available in the shade?

    See you soon

    Shaun

I don't know what you are after.  The answer easier to offer, it's that you just need to change some image that you use for the choice of colors.  If it is the tutorial of your other display, I doubt that you will find something that has more choice with the exception of an enlarged version of this one (not an enlarged version of this one particularly well).

  • In the components Inspector color picker

I want to add a parameter to a custom component that uses the color picker in the components Inspector. I'd rather be able to define the parameters of the component with the class (rather than manually add/subtract settings).

However, there seems to be a conflict between the 'Color' parameter type and the class Color.

    To reproduce this problem:
    1. define the class of a symbol with the class 'test' attached.
    2. set the component parameters in the definition of "component" for the class with the same class of 'test '.
    3. drag the symbol on the stage.
    4. click on the symbol and set the color parameter in the Component Inspector (important step, otherwise it does not try and set the color)
    5. run - receive "1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type int to type fl.motion:Color unrelated." error.

The only way I can see to resolve this is more like a hack - to remove the class 'test' for the definition of component, but leave the color parameter. Now to adjust the color variable in the class of 'test' to expect an int, rather than color.

However, I prefer to keep the test class in the definition of the element, instead of manually changing the settings.

Feels like this area of component settings is in documentation and even maintenance margin (a sort of type this apparent conflict between the class Color and color setting).

Someone at - it ideas or comments?

I just found a good tutorial that answered a few questions I had on the custom components - including this question.

You can separate the definition of the parameter type and the type of variable. You can do this by specifying 'type' in the tag of Inspectable. If its possible to declare a variable of type int, which includes a definition of type "color".

You do this then: (it is essentially class dzedward where the color variable was declared as int, but with the color type that is specified in the tag of Inspectable)

  • The mouse pointer (still) disappears when using the color picker

Someone suggested to start a new discussion, since the old writing is a couple of years now. Thanks for the tip!

Whenever I select a color using the eyedropper icon small (used to be a magnifying glass) in the color picker, the cursor goes away after I made the choice of colors.

I have that experience under El Capitan, but I had the same problem in Yosemite as well as Mavericks and on Mac computers. I've seen this behaviour being reported in the forum for older versions, such as the Mountain Lion, but never with a real solution (workaround has been on creating a new user and delete the old).

I hope someone has a solution for now.

The eyedropper tool worked very well for me and still does (I just checked).

If creating a new user solves the problem then, you have some corrupted in your account settings, or, less likely, you run an application (possibly a connection point) which is the origin of the problem.

Hold down the option key, and then use

    Finder > go > library

menu item. You have a folder 'ColorPickers? If so, is it empty?

  • Color Picker eyedropper size

I have iMac Yosemite (10.10.3). The pipette in the preferences system color picker > > desktop and screensaver produces a circular selection box that has a diameter too large. This makes it almost impossible to select the color of a smaller area of pixels. Can't seem to find how to reduce the diameter of the area of selection of the pipette. Suggestions please?

The reason why there is no way to reduce the circular area of the pipette, it's that he isn't making the selection. There is a small square in the center of the circle that you place on the color to be captured, and then click. It is sufficiently accurate so that I can choose the dark in the middle of any character typed here.

  • Added hex tab in color picker

On my MacBook Pro several years ago, I downloaded an app or utility that allowed a hexagonal tab on the color picker that appears particularly in MS Office applications, but I think that in other applications, too.

On my MacBook Air, running 10.11.4, I can't understand how to do the same thing.

I see a lot of apps in the App Store that allows to identify a hexadecimal number in a pixel, but I want to be able to, not necessarily IDENTIFY hex colors, but choose them in apps. I already know what Hex numbers I want to use, I want to be able to choose them, in Word, for example.

    How can I do?

I use Hex Color Picker.  It is abandonware, but the latest version is always available on this site: http://wafflesoftware.net/ to download directly from this link: you can download this special version that has disabled updates.

It is a color picker plugin that goes in the Mac HD/library/ColorPickers folder or in your folder Users/home/library/ColorPickers .

It will be shown that circled in the color of any application selector pane
