Qosmio G40 - how to monitor audio input?

I installed Adobe Audition on my Qosmio G40 but were unable to control sound input or get audition to record. (It used to work fine on my xp pc) I was able to record sounds, but he can't listen to as his '' go. '' I also tried to install an external sound card: CREATIVE EXTIGY but can't get the laptop to recognize that it is installed.

EXTIGY can work with my laptop?

How to monitor input sound?

His card is Realtek

Advice welcome.
Sean.

Hello

Have you checked the Realtek HD Audio Manager in the control panel?
To do this.

On the right, you will find the analog ports, internal speakers and mic and digital.

Unfortunately, I m not a Qosmio G40 owner but I have a Satellite phone with Realtek audio chip and in my case the audio HD Manager provides some settings that can be changed.

Must check and play with it.

  • Qosmio F10: How to record audio and video and use QosmioPlayer

I am owner of a Qosmio F10-122 with TV tuner and I really need HELP. I'm Italian.

    The questions are:
1 QosmioPlayer version 4.0.1 (2005022812) (according to the procedure of the forum) has installed fine but the sensitivity is poor; in any case the question is: is is possible to record videos? Also is it possible to record audio?

2 input and video output are stupid; I can see Windows and QosmioTV on HDTV via DVI/SCART but I can't input in MCE TV or QosmioPlayer any signal IN Composite; so the question is once again how can record AUDIO from my Home stereo or VCR VHS VIDEO?

    3. I only use VIDEO IN to WATCH is not to save: where is my fault?

    Thanks, Marco

    Hello Marco

I did some testing and I can tell you about my experience on Qosmio G20.

    1. as far as I know early versions of Qosmioplayer did not have the registration option but now I hope that your preinstalled version has REC option. If so, please be sure that you have about 5 GB of free space for the recorded material.

It is not important what signal is sent to your Qosmio (TV or VCR VHS-connected) you can find it if you look at the channels. With REC option, you can save what you want. I tested it with my VCR VHS and I recorded some old movies. This material was recorder und great quality was the same as on cassettes. After recording, I started Windows MCE and transferred the material recorded in Windows using Qosmio player utility.

I have not tried, but I put t think you will be able to record audio using only Qosmioplayer.
    2. you can record movies VHS if you connect your VCR VHS on the Qosmio using the antenna cable. Launch Media center Edition (TV option) and scan channels. In my case, I could watch movies VHS on MCE on channel 31. Using REC option you can save all documents of video cassettes. Later, you can change the recorded material and create own DVDs. It really isn't a problem.

Your audio Home Audio recording can be a bit more problematic, and if you want it to be on the professional path you will need a device external and of course some professional recording software.
    3. I don't know what to write here. Just try to do what I already descriebed under 1 and 2.

  • Qosmio G40 - how to reconfigure the keys above the keyboard?

Since the upgrade to Windows7, the buttons on the top of my G40 (TV, multimedia, Rec, Dolby, etc) don't work anymore. When I click on one, a pop-up window appears asking me to set up the button.

Now, I've changed a single button to task wrong.

    (1) how can I change this back?
    (2) how can I get functions return when moving the cursor to the top of the screen (does not work either)

    Hello

I think that you don t have to reconfigure the keys, you just need new version of Toshiba Value added Package which controls the multimedia keys.

I checked the website of Toshiba Qosmio G40 and Windows 7 and there is a newer version that is compatible with Windows 7:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

It seems the newer version 1.2.40

    Why can't it do it?

In addition, the teletext on the remote control key does not seem to do anything.

  • Qosmio G40: How to get the sound on 4 speakers rear

Here's the thing, 3 days ago, I bought the G40 model. I needed a laptop on which I can work with Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel Draw.

When I bought it, I went on site update from toshiba to see what is new and what I need to be updated. Afterwards, I checked on a few other sites of manufacturers (realtek, nVidia, etc.) which is new, because they get the first pilots.

I noticed that there is a new driver for sound card for this computer so I decided to donwnload it and run the drivers. Everything went well, but after installation I lost the option DolbySurround and instead of all 4 bass speakers, only 2 speakers worked so I decided its better to revisit the original Toshiba drivers.

After that I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba site, installed and put to day all, I noticed that the software for audio, downloaded from Toshiba site has no dolbysurround option. Help, please!

Secondly, I also removed the TOSHIBA accessibility option, which is to control the 'F' keys After that, I can't turn the Touchpad mouse. Help, please? Ideas, suggestions?

What to say dude. Seems to be something wrong with any system files or registry entries
Why change something if you have no problems?

Take my advice and never change a running system ;)

So now your problem and some advice how to solve this stupid question!

I would recommend to restore the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. Use the tool from Microsoft called system restore.
Eventually, you know this tool since the MS XP OS.
You should find somewhere in accessories.

If this procedure is not enough, you could use the Toshiba Recovery CD and could reinstall the whole OS!
But before you make the installation of the recovery CD don t forget to back up your important data! ;)

  • Latitude D531 monitor Audio input problem

Just need help on audio problems...

I have a Dell Latitude D531 and that my job requires me to hear audio from the microphone so I followed the instructions that spoke on the FAQ. I am currently running Windows XP and using a Sigmatel STAC 92xxHD Audio Chip. I tried to change settings in the registry as indicated by replacing the binary codes of the registry "EnableInputMonitor" and "EnableIntSpkMute" by "01" and "00" respectively.

I restarted my computer and when I went to properties, it does not show the "Monitor input" option under "show the following volume controls". Can someone tell me if this is due to the fact that the laptop uses an AMD prcoessor processor or what I have wrong? It would be great if I can get the entries of people who suffer from this as well as the experts who were able to play with it. Appreciate the help.

  • Qosmio G40 - 120 Integrated TOSHIBA hybrid Analog/PCI DVB - T TV Tuner HOW to

Hi everyone and thank you in advance for your help.
I have a qosmio as in the subject with this hybrid tuner. This seems to work well, but the fact that the only software recognized as dual tuner is windows media center in vista ultimate oem supplied.
Some other software which is cyberlink powercinema and mediaportal OpenSource can only dvb - t sintonize, other channels (for example virtualdub) see only the analog section of the tuner.
Indeed, the problem is that the Media Center does not give me the ability to use the tuner at the same time to receive the analog channels and TNT. If I want to change from analog, dvb - t, or vice versa, I have to redo the hardware configurations :(
So the only chance I have is to use two separate software.
I'm doing something wrong? Is the ability to force another software to see the other part of the tuner (i.e. dvb - t for virtualdub) or analog-mediaportal? Is there a method to use media center in both directions without configuring again eveytime I change from analog to digital TELEVISION?

Sorry my friend, I see no problem here and I think you have misunderstood something. As far as I know "hybrid" follow: 2 functions, but only one can be used.

As much I know as Qosmio G40 has a TV in the port and how you want to use DTT and analog at the same time.

  • Qosmio G40 - not more healthy with the last driver audio Realtek

    Hi all!

Whenever I have install the latest audio driver Realtek 6.1.0.53.97 on my Qosmio G40 (Vista), the sound not work more (not at all) so I don't have to return to the previous version.

Has anyone noticed this problem or has an explanation?

    Thank you.

    Louglitou.

    Hello

It's not easy to say why you n t get the noise after the update of the audio driver, but in my view, this problem may appear if a problem occurs during the installation/update procedure.
    But I have two questions;
Why do you want to update the audio driver? You have sound problems?
I think that if your sound is ok so an update is not necessary, I noticed that the Realtek audio drivers are updated from time to time. My audio driver is about 3 years old and I didn't update because it works very well.

    Best regards

  • Qosmio G40 - no sound on HDMI

I can't get sound on my LCD TV connected with cable HDMI with my Qosmio G40. Help please.

    Hello

I found a very interesting document from Toshiba which provides a step by step instruction how connect a Qosmio G30 to a TV using the HDMI port and why there is no audio over HDMI on Qosmio G30 under Vista.

[No audio over HDMI on Qosmio G30 under Vista. | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ7A01ZU0005R01.htm]

    _The paper said: _

    (1) open the "Control Panel" to click 'Start'-> 'Settings'-> 'Control Panel '.
    2) click on 'Hardware & Sound.
    (3) left-click on "his".
    (4) a window appears where you can select the playback device. Left click on 'device of digital output (S/PDIF).
    (5) after selecting the digital output, click on 'Set as default', then 'apply '.
    (6) now the signal must be properly transferred correctly to HDMI.

    Check this box:
    1. fix a television for the Qosmio G40 HDMI while both units are State in a "powered off the coast.
    2. turn first on television and then the Qosmio G40.

_Notes on the HDMI connection: _

S ' Please refer always to the manual of your TV on how to select and activate the TVs HDMI input port.
-Please ensure that TVs equipped with a HDMI input port can be connected to the computer.
S ' Please use a HDMI cable (NOT supplied with the computer) commercially available to connect to the TV and the computer.
-Not all TVs equipped with a HDMI input port have been tested for compatibility with the computer. Therefore, does not guarantee that the HD DVD-video content can be displayed on any TV with an HDMI input port. Contents of the DVD - video HD may not display correctly on some TVs.
-Qosmio G40 should automatically detect the HDMI connection and video output can be seen via HDMI to the TV.

  • Audio input on mac (MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inch, mid-2014) which has a single audio port for headphones and number of PORT of ENTRY.

How to do on my MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inch, mid-2014), which has only a headphone audio input port? Do Garageband, or Preferences/audio, or Audioand MIDI or what?

Connect an audio interface to a USB port to have an audio input, or insert a divider entry in the headphone port. You need additional hardware to have an audio input.

  • Can you stereo audio input in an iPhone and listen in real-time?

Well, it's rather a strange question, so I will explain briefly the background... I am a user of the hearing and I'm considering the purchase of hearing aids new fantasies that are capable of connecting to an iPhone (wireless via THE Bluetooth); This allows several things, including the ability to listen to the audio from the phone.

I currently don't own an iPhone but wonder if buying one, as well as these hearing aids (Starkey Halo 2, if you're curious) might be a good option.

The thing that is currently my attention is: is there a way that I could use this configuration of audio stream of (for example), a TV or a stereo directly to hearing aids? To do this I would need power audio * in * the iPhone and do share the same audio output for hearing aids. The audio input should be high enough quality and (especially!) in stereo, not mono; so we couldn't use the 3.5 mm jack. Ideally, I'd like to audio input via a digital SPDIF (PCM stereo) connection; If this is not possible then via a signal analog stereo level line (preferably via XLR, but failing that would make a jack or RCA). Another important thing is that (except what is inevitable due to the nature of the Bluetooth connection), this should be pretty low latency.

I guess I would need some kind of accessory for this and perhaps also additional software.

    How possible it seems?

You might want to repost on in the forum "hearing". There seems to be a number of users of Halo.

  • Qosmio G40-108 - prevent recovery of product disc ask to insert the disc

I have a Qosmio G40-108 and it works fine even if the disc is not read discs any longer, perhaps because of a motherboard failure that I replace the disk with a new of brans and it still does not work, but my problem is the following... I have the product recovery disc, I tried to copy it to a USB key and reinstall the OS from USB and the start of software loading a page with the logo Toshiba asking to insert the recovery disk into drive F: I can't use is more like it's broken. How can I prevent the disc from asking to insert the disk into drive F:? There are lines on the laptop recovery disk to install the USB without using the disc?

I managed to install a generic Windows Vista 32 bit downloaded from a Web site and my serial key works with it, but I really want to reinstall the original software
P.S. Recovery of product is for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and just in case there is also a serial number of the disk GMR400766ENG

I don't have any experience with this, but I found an interesting article on creating recovery USB - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

Maybe you'll be able to create the USB stick recovery. Check it out.

  • Qosmio G40-10 s: graphics card problem

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G40 laptop 10s with a Nvidea 8600 M GT grafixs card. I was playing a game when it locked up and pasted what I would describe as flashing red/green 'Matrixy' search screen.

He then a blue screen and trys to reeboot.
He tries to start windows, but once again the top matrix. If it loads to the top, it is in 16 bit color with red dots all over the screen.

I am sure that the GPU is fried... and I was wondering what I can do? It's been 5 months out of warranty now.

I read on some forums that there have been a lot of problems with this Nvidea card... Is there anything I can do outside my warranty period with what there is a possibly faulty card in it from the beginning.

It will cost a lot of money to get it repaired, but its too good a laptop to let go to waste.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    J

    Hello

You also have these lines on an external monitor?
If so, there seems to be a graphics card problem and it must be replaced.

These overheating problems also occur if you use the nVidia display drivers directly. Toshiba drivers are pre-tested and don't overheat your system.

But I think you need professional help. You should contact an authorized service provider and talk to the technicians. They will help you! :)
