• Cannot type 3 digit values in the Windows 7 color picker

  Hi - I can not enter any RGB or STL greater than 2 digits in any Windows color picker (x 64 Home Premium) even if a 3 digit value shows already in the area.

  All ideas, bugs? It's really, really frustrating to have to try to surf on the color picker to get an accurate value.

  Hi Ronnie thanks for your suggestions - however, there only was nothing wrong in my logs, and I just installed Windows 7, a week or two ago, I decided that I had nothing to lose to restore my own backup - IE a complete restoration of the system of the restoration as opposed to a "restore point." I prefer this, because it's like the hot flashes. :) That fixed the problem, thank God, but let me still puzzled about what caused the 'thing' happen in the first place. I'm reinstalling bric and broc and check the color picker after each change to see if I can find the culprit - so far without success. Anyway, thanks a lot for the quick and courteous answers! • Only use the STL color picker in Illustrator?

  I want to only use the STL color picker in Illustrator. Yet it still shows the default RGB color picker. Is there a way to change this behavior?

  Is it possible to get a usable in Fireworks color picker?

  I mean, I have no problem with the OSX in principle color picker (Omnigraffle have implemented it very well). but in FW, it is virtually unusable.

  The problem is twofold.

  (a) island Color picker works from a different profile from that of FW (FW is not color managed, while the OS x color picker uses the profile of monitors, even if it is the default).  I don't care if it is Adobes or problem of apples from a technical stand point, but the fact of the matter is that FW has decided to use a color chooser that actually does work with it rather than develop its own or just using the Adobe one you get in other applications in the suite.  It would actually be a big deal if did not exist the following point:

  (b) changes not updated in real time (I mean come on), so rethinking the color change is full error.  Some people like games, but personally when I work, I like to avoid.  The PS color picker is a great tool; but it seems that FW has no interest in the use of color outside the grid of 256.  OmniGraffle uses the OS x color picker and updates the changes in real time, so I can only accept it as lazy coding on an essential feature.

  Now I don't expect someone from Adobe to read this and send me an update in the coming days that solves this glaring problem; (but I hope that there is a sort of workaround that fixes either one) or b), or even both!  I would even be willing to pay for a 3rd tool third to cope with this problem.

  Ok. You mean that the system color picker. You are right. It will not update the color until you click on validate. Have you tried to use the Panel color scheme instead of the panels color chart? It updates the live colors.

  

• Color Picker eyedropper size

  I have iMac Yosemite (10.10.3). The pipette in the preferences system color picker > > desktop and screensaver produces a circular selection box that has a diameter too large. This makes it almost impossible to select the color of a smaller area of pixels. Can't seem to find how to reduce the diameter of the area of selection of the pipette. Suggestions please?

  The reason why there is no way to reduce the circular area of the pipette, it's that he isn't making the selection. There is a small square in the center of the circle that you place on the color to be captured, and then click. It is sufficiently accurate so that I can choose the dark in the middle of any character typed here.

• Color picker bug heavy?

  The color picker is not choosing the appropriate color values.

  Try the following to reproduce the problem:

  1. Define a new shade of color - lets say R = 255, G = 0, B = 0 (pure red)
  2. Draw a rectangle and assign this color as a fill
  3. Draw a new rectangle and open the filler panel by clicking the fill icon in the Control Strip
  4. Choose the color picker and click the red rectangle filled with the color red, defined in step 1.

  The color that is transferred to the second rectangle using the color picker is here R = 252, G = 52, B = 27.

  Why? What values using the selector? Local monitor profile,...,...?

  The problem of color picker seems to be a Mac problem. The color picker is able to choose the colors of the entire screen (not only from the windows of the Muse), and Mac OS, it is only possible to choose the color of the color management. There seems to be no way to retrieve the RGB values of pure "successful pre" screen. In other words, Zak Williamson of the Muse team describes.

  The team of Muse is certainly aware of this problem. Let us wait and see what happens in the next version.

  I googled this without success. For some reason any Adobe color chart is missing from my Photoshop 8.0. I don't know when he disappeared. When I double click a shade in the box tools or Swatches palette or fill the window layers or effects or any where I can think about getting the color picker pop-up that I get nothing. My eyedropper tool is enabled, but there is no color picker to be seen.

  I changed my maximum screen resolution to see if he has escaped an external area of the office and did not find it. I also went to window > workspace > reset palette locations but still no luck. I went into Photoshop preferences > General > selector of color with the Adobe option is selected I toggled in and out of the it in case he had to reset itself, but I still have nothing. Right now I'm on my color chart Apple, I think it's very limiting. I'm still all Pantone, TruMatch, etc files in Applications > Adobe Photoshop > Presets > folder color books, but no Adobe to access with color picker.   (1) what is the file name and the extension of the Adobe Photoshop color picker? Maybe I'll be able to get my system and locate somewhere.

  (3) download the ADOBE color somewhere picker? The only one I want is from Adobe. Especially for the choice of spot colors.

  I don't have the original disks of Photoshop for a re - install.

• Adobe please add shortcut color picker

  Until someone rings with "it's dummy F6. RTFM! "this isn't what I want. I want to be able to have the foreground/background color picker window that appears in THE bar of TOOLS available via a command key vs having to actually physically click on the square for this pop - up. Why? Because there are many of us who use the PS as a painting tool. From now on, the only solution is to use the Autohotkey program, which uses your screen coordinates to map mouse clicks. Of course, this operation will fail if you TAB away your toolbar or F select a different view. Please Adobe? The addition of the canvas rotation was fantastic, just this tweak plus one would make MANY of us VERY happy illustrators. Thank you.

  It is already on my TODO list.

• Why the Color Picker is a circle?

  I have been using FCPX for a while and sometimes I need to use the color for a third-party effect selector, but instead of the usual pipette or magnifying glass icon, I get this big circle with a small rectangle at the Center.  It get bigger, but the circle is too much.  No idea what happened to the usual color picker?

  The 'default' selector is a favorite of "color wheel" typical of most of the artists. It is indicative of the perceptual nature of color (red - orange - yellow - green - purple - blue - cyan - red.)

  The System color picker may be a circle of color wheel, sliders, 'tags' or tabs or color chart (However, you want to refer to them), spectrum and color pencils (48 colors). There are five small icons at the top of the switch. Choose the system that you want to use. If you select the selector of cursors, you will have the option of grayscale, RGB, CMYK and HSB. You can also 'load' the squares down with your "favourites".

  Whenever I select a color using the eyedropper icon small (used to be a magnifying glass) in the color picker, the cursor goes away after I made the choice of colors.

  I have that experience under El Capitan, but I had the same problem in Yosemite as well as Mavericks and on Mac computers. I've seen this behaviour being reported in the forum for older versions, such as the Mountain Lion, but never with a real solution (workaround has been on creating a new user and delete the old).

  I hope someone has a solution for now.

  The eyedropper tool worked very well for me and still does (I just checked).

  If creating a new user solves the problem then, you have some corrupted in your account settings, or, less likely, you run an application (possibly a connection point) which is the origin of the problem.

  Hold down the option key, and then use

  Finder > go > library

  menu item. You have a folder 'ColorPickers? If so, is it empty?

  What you want to replicate from El Capitan in Yosemite?

  1. The file containing all the samples stored color of the Apple color picker?
  2. The color picker itself?
  3. Both?

  Question 1 is a simple transfer of a single file.

  1. From the Finder, press shift + cmd + G keys to go to the folder. Copy and paste the following in this dialog box:
     ~/Library/colors
  2. The file has your stored color swatch is: NSColorPanelSwatches.plist
     1. On Yosemite, quit Word, Pages and other applications that use the Apple color chart
     2. Repeat step 1 on your machine of Yosemite
     3. Rename (do not remove) the Yosemite NSColorPanelSwatches.plist existing NSColorPanelSwatches.plist.old
     4. Copy the color swatch file El Capitan in Yosemite file location
  3. Launch the applications that use the color chart to see Apple El Capitan from swatches.

  I really don't see the issue. See this snippet (drag it into a diagram to use) - a single click displays the selector, the second allows you to select the color.

  I have a strange problem. Every time when I double click on the color picker in illustrator, I hear a boring. It's the same when you make a mistake, only then I get a dialog box with information about the error. The color picker appears and flashes at first. It works normally. I got turned down the volume, but of course that is not a solution. Anyone has any idea what it is?
