  Hi, frustrated comment pop annoying ups I get whenever I use the highlight tool.  Sometimes I want a comment, but 99% of the time that I want to just emphasize the text. Is it possible that I can disable the automatic comment box so the highlighter does not?

  The tool used to highlight text has been changed in a recent update.   She went under a line long and fine with a circle inside a circle which is close to the text.   Therefore, it is difficult to highlight.  The new circular tool being close to the text means I'll have to drag the tool in the the text originally from my fingers cover what I'm trying to highlight.

  It seems that you are talking about the text selection hoarders who are used to adjust the text that should be highlighted. These have been recently changed to increase accuracy when selecting text. We have noted your question and should try to fix it quickly. To work around the problem, you can select using the "Highlight" tool in the toolbar of substantive comment.

  1. Tap anywhere in the PDF file to reopen menus if they are hidden.
  2. Tap
  3. Press the second action icon in the comment menu.

  

  4. slide to highlight text.

• Cannot use highlight tool

  You are able to highlight normal (not scanned) pdfs?

  What happens when you use highlight tool, you see no error message?

  Check if there is an update available for Acrobat, launch Acrobat > go to the Help menu > then click Find updates. If there is an available update, download and install the update, then check if Acrobat works as expected.

• I bought the pack of pdf, but I can't access the files tool combine.

  I did the $14.99 per month plan for Acrobat Reader DC.  It does not access the many tools, including the files tool combine, I currently need to use.  He had me sign in the last week, and I had access to all the tools, but today when I open the program it says 'Add' tools.  When I click on 'Add', it takes me on the Adobe site that wants me to buy the same plan that I already bought.  Any help would be appreciated.

  I installed Acrobat 9.5.5 Pro as part of the CS4 Suite several years ago.  I'm a casual user of Acrobat 9 Pro.  I used the tool to highlight and the typewriter tool on many documents over the years.  Although I recorded on my computer.  They have renderable text!

  Suddenly, the highlight tool and typewriter tool and others disappeared + went from the tools + its submenus.  I'm a pretty savvy computer user.  I don't remember that I did something to change the Tools menu.

  When I go to View\Toolbars\More tools... the highlight tool and the typewriter tool don't show up there either.

  I reinstalled Acrobat 9 Pro from the original CD... the Tools menu is always missing the Highlight tool and typewriter tool and others. (I say 'other' because, even if I can't have used them, I feel that there are already more visible tools on the tools + its submenus)

  Well... you can go through this post/problem in your list.  I couldn't wait any longer.  I had the tools/functions that have mysteriously disappeared.

  I spent about 3 1/2 hours deactivate the Suite CS4, uninstallation of the CS4 Suite, removing any reference I could find of 'adobe', 'NPF' and 'flex' of my files and the registry, clean my registry and restarted.

  Then I had to go through the process of installation 3 times (each time), in order to get all the Suite CS4 programs to install correctly.  (No other programs running during install.)  Thanks for the good old old-fashioned print magazines!)

• Can someone help us get COMMENTS SETTING TOOL to work as described in Acrobat Pro XI?

  Our company seeks to pass on comments on paper to electronic shared reviews, and Adobe XI has been selected. (Window 8, Acrobat XI) However, we have a lot of difficulties.

  Our problem is that we would be able to join the small files (Word, jpeg, etc.) during the send it for shared review as described in the videos and the online help.

  What we have experienced is the following:

  1. a reviewer attaches the file using comments trombonepublishes comments and then closes.

  2. when they, another appraiser or the initiator opens the document, the name of the file to 'Unknown' changes and the name of the file with the extension appear in the Description in the list of attachments. This makes the unopenable file.

  Everyone knows this?  During the initial period while the file name always appears under the name in the list of attachments, it is pensionable.  When this name is placed on the Description field, it is lost.

  Here's how we do it:

  1. Choose the paperclip in the comments - Annotations
  2. Choose the location in the document and click it to select it.
  3. Select the file in the popup box and click Open.
  4. Click OK to select the icon and it is placed in the document.  File name now appears in the list of attachments in the left side of the document.  Using the simple arrow (right), it shows the attributes (name, Description, change, size, size compressed) the name appears under the name, the Description is empty, the size compressed, size and update the fields are filled out. Given that everything is finished, press on post comments.
  5. When the initiator or other reviewer opens, the name is unknown and the name of the file is now under Description and there is no way to identify the file or open it.

  Can someone please help us with what we're doing wrong?  They make it sound so simple, but nothing don't we try works. It was one of several features that direction really wanted.

  When I click on the highlight tool, I get the text selection indicator to highlight, but I can't go any further.  The text is not growing.  What I am doing wrong? >

  The document must be an image.  I can't select words, just a box.  I checked some documents that I knew were test and the tool works properlywith them.  Thanks for responding.

  I pointed out in my document, but now he had to stop using this tool but there seems to be no way to do it. I went to edit (deselect all), but it did not work. I tried reselect tool highlighting thought that it would be clear but it only changed it. Can someone please give me some advice on this? (I don't have time to waste on a highlighting tool)

• How to activate the highlighting tool?

  I use the Pack PDF in the Acrobat Reader XI.   I can easily activate edit 'add a comment', but cannot get the highlight to start tool.   I don't know what I'm missing here.  Ideas?

  This tool works only if the file contains the text 'real '. If it only contains images (for example, a file scanned) and OCR did not, then you cannot use this tool (or another of annotation tools that have a "T" in their icon).

  The VIX 3016 error code indicates the tools are not running. However, I check if the tools and running and installed (through the java api) before calling the method "runProgramInGuest".

  Please note that this fault is also found in some cases when trying to call the method "listProgramsInGuest".

  When the error says, "Please see the server log", what paper I'm supposed to be looking for Guest VM operations?

  Curiously, however, this happens on one of the clones of a basic VM. that is, I clone a virtual machine base three times (linked clones) and run a program in the comments. This anomaly is only visible on one of the virtual machines and runs correctly on the other two.

  It turns out that the problem is when cloning. Linked clones are created using the diskMoveType the value "CREATE_NEW_CHILD_DISK_BACKING".

  But when linked clones have been created using the value 'MOVE_ALL_DISK_BACKINGS_AND_ALLOW_SHARING' diskMoveType the problem no longer occurs.

  VMware Tools are installed on the base virtual machine and I understand the basic disk is shared among related clones but I always thought that the basic disk become read only when the linked clones are created. If so, why would be a mistake "tools does not" occurs then? are not just the "vmware tools" files being read from the disk basic and performed by the RAM/vmswp clone? Am I missing something?

  Can someone explain why this error occurs when Linked clones are created using 'CREATE_NEW_CHILD_DISK_BACKING '? In addition, a link/document to fully understand the Linked clones would help.

  OS: Mac OX X 10.11.1 (El Capitan)

  I put my drawing tools to use a cyan border and a fill opaque 50% cyan in the Properties Windows. However, when I design a form commenting in my document, they come out a deep in Burgundy! However, if I select the form and check the properties, the correct color is indicated.

  It was a bug they have since resolved. Update your Acrobat version and that should fix it.
