Highlight tool

The tool used to highlight text has been changed in a recent update.   She went under a line long and fine with a circle inside a circle which is close to the text.   Therefore, it is difficult to highlight.  The new circular tool being close to the text means I'll have to drag the tool in the the text originally from my fingers cover what I'm trying to highlight.

Is there a way to change this new tool to highlight?

Hi kayk95580445 ,

It seems that you are talking about the text selection hoarders who are used to adjust the text that should be highlighted. These have been recently changed to increase accuracy when selecting text. We have noted your question and should try to fix it quickly. To work around the problem, you can select using the "Highlight" tool in the toolbar of substantive comment.

  1. Tap anywhere in the PDF file to reopen menus if they are hidden.
  2. Tap
  3. Press the second action icon in the comment menu.

4. slide to highlight text.

Please let us know if this does not solve your problem.

Thank you

Check if there is an update available for Acrobat, launch Acrobat > go to the Help menu > then click Find updates. If there is an available update, download and install the update, then check if Acrobat works as expected.

  • Highlight tool, typewriter tool, menu missing + missing etc.

I installed Acrobat 9.5.5 Pro as part of the CS4 Suite several years ago.  I'm a casual user of Acrobat 9 Pro.  I used the tool to highlight and the typewriter tool on many documents over the years.  Although I recorded on my computer.  They have renderable text!

Suddenly, the highlight tool and typewriter tool and others disappeared + went from the tools + its submenus.  I'm a pretty savvy computer user.  I don't remember that I did something to change the Tools menu.

When I go to View\Toolbars\More tools... the highlight tool and the typewriter tool don't show up there either.

I reinstalled Acrobat 9 Pro from the original CD... the Tools menu is always missing the Highlight tool and typewriter tool and others. (I say 'other' because, even if I can't have used them, I feel that there are already more visible tools on the tools + its submenus)

Can someone tell me how to recover point highlight tool and the tool machine to write?

Well... you can go through this post/problem in your list.  I couldn't wait any longer.  I had the tools/functions that have mysteriously disappeared.

I spent about 3 1/2 hours deactivate the Suite CS4, uninstallation of the CS4 Suite, removing any reference I could find of 'adobe', 'NPF' and 'flex' of my files and the registry, clean my registry and restarted.

Then I had to go through the process of installation 3 times (each time), in order to get all the Suite CS4 programs to install correctly.  (No other programs running during install.)  Thanks for the good old old-fashioned print magazines!)

What a pain in the anus!

  • How can I get the highlighting tool to work correctly?

When I click on the highlight tool, I get the text selection indicator to highlight, but I can't go any further.  The text is not growing.  What I am doing wrong? >

The document must be an image.  I can't select words, just a box.  I checked some documents that I knew were test and the tool works properlywith them.  Thanks for responding.

  • delete the comments from the highlight tool

Hi, frustrated comment pop annoying ups I get whenever I use the highlight tool.  Sometimes I want a comment, but 99% of the time that I want to just emphasize the text. Is it possible that I can disable the automatic comment box so the highlighter does not?

    Thanks in advance

  • How to deselect the highlight tool?

I pointed out in my document, but now he had to stop using this tool but there seems to be no way to do it. I went to edit (deselect all), but it did not work. I tried reselect tool highlighting thought that it would be clear but it only changed it. Can someone please give me some advice on this? (I don't have time to waste on a highlighting tool)

Hand tools - Select & Zoom - tool

It is usually also on the toolbar. If not, you can add it.

  • Comment / highlight tool combined

There was to be a tool that combined noting and commenting on - you would like to highlight the text, and a comment box would automatically jump to the top. The icon was a T with a comment balloon. Tool disappeared for me and that's the one I use most often. Someone knows how can I fix? I don't have not updated anything recently or changed the settings or anything like that.

    Hi Noa,

Regarding "highlight text and a comments box would automatically jump upwards,"

    Try setting the preference:

-> Edit-> preferences commenting-> check "automatically open comment jump - rises for comments other than notes '-> click Ok

Now, when you select any text in the document, a pop-up comment window automatically opens.

  • Adobe Reader highlight tool is more full of text, simply create a line around the text

The highlight in Adobe reader tool no longer works as before.  Instead of filling the text, as it is used, the tool creates just a line around the text.  This makes it much harder to identify strengths.

I am running Win 8 and using Adobe Reader XI version 11.0.09.

I have attached a screenshot to illustrate.  The way the tool used to work, they testify as I want it, highlight all the text in the document.  As it is it currently works, is shown on the first line of the text, where a part of the text was highlighted with the tool as it works now.  I have just created a yellow line around the text.

I checked how the highlight settings are both the former highlight text and the new text, and they look identical.  Percentage of the color settings and opacity are the same.

  • How to activate the highlighting tool?

I use the Pack PDF in the Acrobat Reader XI.   I can easily activate edit 'add a comment', but cannot get the highlight to start tool.   I don't know what I'm missing here.  Ideas?

This tool works only if the file contains the text 'real '. If it only contains images (for example, a file scanned) and OCR did not, then you cannot use this tool (or another of annotation tools that have a "T" in their icon).

  • Tool to highlight in different colors on a base with a single click

Concerns Acrobat Pro ms in the latest version on a Mac. I'm looking for a way to have the highlight tool (sorry, only a German version - it's the tool with the yellow pen, which allows to highlight the words) in the comment section available in various colors on a base with a single click. Of course one can with the colors in the Panel property of the highlighting itself, but it's pretty heavy. It is possible to put the tool in a toolbar customized, yet, the color of a single instance of the switching tool will change it in all cases. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Alex

  • No active highlight text tool

    Hello

I downloaded some documents in PDF/A of open XML specification (PDF version 1.4, created using MS office 2007 word) of the w3c Web site. I wanted to use the text highlighter tool to highlight the important parts so that I can quickly refer to it later but found that the tool is off. I even tried to convert the PDF to a new version (1.6, 1.7) and in PDF / X etc. but nothing helps.

When I see the security method, it says "No Security" and all (printing, editing, comment) are "authorized".

I don't know how to activate the tool. Another edition associated tools are also disabled (Text edit, add sticky notes, etc.).

Is this protected document, if yes then why he said "No Security", and is there a way to unprotect so that I can highlight text inside.

    Concerning
