  I did the recovery discs when the laptop was purchased (compaq cq62-423nr).

  I recently had a disk failure hard and bought a seagate 500 GB 5400 disc to replace the disk of 320 GB 5400

  has run the recovery discs twice more than minimum and also full reset. the recovery process all 3 times crossed the 4th disc until the end and restart found no bootable disk.

  has ran the bios diagnostics and recovery disk diag too. all the past. It also has the BIOS current rev.

  Would be to put Linux on, if it was not the wife. Any help to get out me of the dog house is appreciated.

  I have a compaq laptop CQ62-217AX, and I have recently run recovery on it, and after that the laptop finished recovery process has restarted and showed a bar that says Windows load the files, then he quickly vanished and changed to the loading screen 7 Windows and after that a prompt is displayed in windows and dialogue full screen then stands up and says "recovery did not complete.

  My computer compaq laptop is a month old. When I turn it on, I hear the fan, but that's all. No beeps and the only visible light is the caps lock key, which does not turn off. The screen is completely blank. No cursor blinking, no music windows, nothing. I tried to turn it on using only the stored battery power - no luck. I turned on and off several times - no luck.

  Try the following.

  With the laptop off, remove the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for a minute.  Plug the power adapter (leave the battery) and see if the laptop boots.

  Well this is saying me tha theres no drivers on the pcwhen I try to program it, but on the screen after the compaq sign spell he found bootablr device. Insert a bootable CD, then press to continue, can I get help on this

  No boot device would mean that it cannot read a boot sector of any of the devices detected by your machine.  This could be because the hard drive is bad, the boot sector is damaged or you let a non bootable DVD/CD in the drive.  You can enter the bios and see if you have all of the hard drives listed or recognized by the system?  My best guess is that you have a problem with the hard drive.
