Compaq Presario 5410us - memory

Hello, I am trying to upgrade the memory of machines. It is Compaq 5410us windows xp home edition 512 MB 32-bit running.  It has two memory slots.  Where buy one was empty, I recently inserted and 256 MB.  Recently, I have flashed the bios Rom, 686p 9 now v1.04 v1.11.  My research on xp says it can support up to 4 GB.  Syncdram-dimm pc133 is the memory in the machine.  This machine was purchased in 2002.

Can the mother card featuring two 512 MB supported? He will recognize?

Thank you, nyvid

Hi, David:

The maximum memory that can take is bars of memory 2 x 256 MB to a maximum of 512 MB.

Windows XP 32-bit can address up to 4 GB of memory, but the hardware in the PC has also in support as well.

Unfortunately, you does not work.

  • Compaq presario 5000us memory problem

I am new to this post and try to help a child of 14 years to get his 1 pc. I realize that I shouldn't be wasteing my time with this machine, but he got it from someone and I said that I would be put in place. The problem is its supposed to support 768 total memory, I have 3 kingstons 128 meg, but there only see 128 and complains about 164 memory size error and error 201-memory 08000000B 3. I went into the bios (which well see MB 384) and saved the changes, but still no errors. I loaded xp and he sees also only 128 meg. Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply, I solved the problem, believe it or not, he seems to have been little dust on the top of the dimm support, I cleaned it took it off and no more complaints. It wasn't inside the slot, he was on the top of the slot. Thanks again for your answers to my question.

  • Upgrade memory - Compaq Presario SR1630NX

Planning the upgrade on my HP - Compaq Presario SR1630NX memory. Before buying a product of memory, I want to make sure it is compatible with the Compaq. Info on the Compaq Presario SR1630NX memory is as follows: 1) 512 MB (2 x 256) memory installed in the 4 slots 2 DIMM; (2) 2 4 DIMM slots open. (3) type of memory is 184 pins DDR SDRAM. It is a bit confusing when you try to sort the different products available memory. Identified the PNY Memory twin 2048 MB PC3200 DDR 400 MHz memory (2 x 1024MB), Model #MD2048KD1-400. Memory is this product compatible and recommended? Otherwise, any suggestions?

    Hello

    JJM says:
I ordered the Crucial memory upgrade kit. Then will come the real installation. I'm a little tentative trying to change modules of memory because I've not done this before. Are there problems I should be aware of that I open the SR1630NX, find the motherboard and memory sticks, remove and install new?

    It's really very simple.

All it takes is patience and attention to the location of the index in the module and the game inside the DIMM slot.

Unplug the power connector from the power outlet.

    Open the case.

touch something metal in the case with your hand to dissipate static electricity from your body. I actually always use an anti-static wristband.

Press the tabs on each side of a module locking and it comes out.

use the thumb and forefinger on each end of a module and remove it carefully.

during the installation of the modules to place them in the same locations you deleted the 'old' of.

Search the index of the module tab and the tab corresponding inside the ALS DIMMt.

Use the slots on the inside and under the locking tabs guide to guide the module in the DIMM connector correctly

now, use your thumbs to the top end of the module for shake it gently in the DIMM slot.

you will know that it is in place as you feel / hear a click.

now check to make sure that the locking tabs are in place at the ends of the module.

Repeat the process with the other modules

That's all there is to it.

    Kind regards

  • About RAM compatibility...? HP Compaq Presario B2000

    Hello everyone,

First of all please forgive me for my lameness...

I have this old laptop that I use constantly up to now I have had NO problem/s which so than ever, except it requires upgrading memory, since it had 256 MB of memory when I bought it... I decided to update my ram at least 1 GB for my laptop to be more or less at par to the current requirements of modern software... Now my question is concerning the ram compatibility, I just wanted to ensure that the Rams are compatible since RAM DDR1 SODIMM are quite expensive compared to their DDR2 and DDR3 variants and once the Rams are purchased cannot be returned... more than info posted below...

Laptop: COMPAQ Presario B2000 (model: REPLACEMENT-L07C)

    s/n: KRD43404JD

    p/n: PE972PA #AB0

    Service: B2028AP

    OS: Windows XP

The only DDR1 SODIMM RAM available to my place where I live are:

    1. the TEAM Elite PC3200 DDR400 1 GB module

    2. TEAM Elite PC3200 DDR400 512 MB module

    Now my question:

1 are those DDR1 PC3200 RAM compatible with the laptop?

    2. If these Rams are compatible should I expect (1module) 1 gb ddr400 or (2modules) 512 mb ddr400 RAM to achieve a system of 1 GB of ram?

    3. I know it sucks but where I am from RAM DDR1 SODIMM are kindda rare and very hard to find.

Thank you that very very very much... and I hope to hear your words of wisdom... Thank you...

    You are the very welcome.

Analytical result image has not yet passed censorship HP.

I can't find anything on Crucial or Kingston of the site or the other, but I found this...

    http://www.upgradecomputermemory.com/RAM.cfm/memory/C/Compaq/Presario-notebook-memory/Presario-B-Series-notebook/Presario-B2000/

It's showing that this notebook can take up to 2 GB of memory (2 x 1 GB PC-2700 memory).

I don't know what to tell you. If it was me, I would buy only a single chip of 1 GB at a time to make sure it worked.

This place says that their memory is also guaranteed to be compatible.

  • Compaq Presario CQ5300Y desktop PC - memory upgrade

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all well.

I have a desktop PC Compaq Presario CQ5300Y, to which I would like to upgrade the memory.

The product specifications indicate clearly that the motherboard, a M2N68-(Narra5), 2 x DDR2 memory media. (In addition, the amount of installed memory is 2 GB.)

The product specifications, in the information section of upgrade memory also mention the following:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dual channel memory architecture
    Supports two DDR2 DIMM (240-pin)

    Supported DIMM types:

    PC2-5300 (667 MHz)
    PC2-6400 (800 MHz)

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports DIMM DDR2 2 GB modules
Supports up to 4 GB * on 32-bit PCs
    * 32 - bit operating systems cannot resolve a full 4.0 GB memory.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm clear (with what the article said) I have only available two DIMM DDR2 2 brackets.

"What confuses me is the statement" ""supports 2 GB DDR2 DIMM '. This is the reason for my question.

"Supports 2 GB DDR2 DIMM" means that I have to use 2 GB DDR DIMM only, which means I can only go to 4 GB? Or could I use 4GB DDR2 DIMM, which breaks the barrier of 4 GB?

In a few words, I would like to - at least - 8GB (assuming that I find two modules DIMM DDR2 4 GB). Would it be possible to have the above configuration?

It is important to mention that the PC is running a 64-bit operating system.

I would appreciate the attention he can draw on this issue.

    Best regards.

    Hello:

Each slot of memory on the motherboard of your PC cannot accept that a maximum of one module of memory of 2 GB.

    1 x 2 GB will work.

    2 x 2 GB will work.

    1 x 4 GB will not work.

    2 x 4 GB will not work.

    Hello world

    I have a Compaq Presario CQ57-104TU. I recently decided to upgrade the ram (currently 1 x 2 GB Elpida PC3 - 10600 1333 Mhz). I bought 2 x 4 Gb Hynix HMT451S6AFR8A, PC3L-12800. Unfortunitely when I install the new Ram (Hynix)

the computer does not start. Is there something I can do or the Ram is not compatible?

    Any help would be appreciated,

    André

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p.2. Specified memory is DDR3-1333 1.5 volt and you try to install low-voltage DDR3-1600. In addition, memory that you are trying to install is high density, because it has 4 blocks on each side, where I am betting that original memory was of low density (8 blocks). Long story short, it is not compatible. It do you no good to install DDR3-1600 by the way. Best of cases, it will anyway be downclock speed 1333.

  • Compaq Presario CQ61: BSOD - memory management error

    Hello

So, I have my other laptop, Compaq Presario CQ61. For like 5 or 6 months I had a lot of problems with it, like freezes, BSOD-s and not to forget that convenience store was down. I transferred all personal files on the external HARD disk and decided to reinstall Windows (7 - legal copy), hoping that the problem will be solved, but in vain. Finally, I installed Windows 8 Pro, because as said in the forums, people, it may be a problem with the installation disc. For like 4-5 days my HP laptop was running well, all the updates that are installed (haven't seen it lately), I just thought it was a miracle and my problem is solved. Today, he appeared. BSOD. After reinstall or to install both versions of Windows, I had, it is my belief that it is a hardware problem. I tried the memory management test and the result was something like "problems were found, contact your manufacturer. So my question is, is it a problem of RAM or a HARD drive? I've heard both versions, and if someone had in the past has the same symptoms as my laptop and he managed to cope, please enlighten me as well. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Calin1 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your Compaq Presario CQ61 and works very well, and then get the BSOD and stop. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings if you can get it to go to the screen. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. No restoration. Restore default BIOS is necessary because I think that this will solve the BSOD.

Here is a link to solve the BSOD if the restoration of the BIOS does not help.

If this does not help at the end of the document it tells you to do a test equipment.

The hardware test indicates if any parts are missing or have problems.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Can I put my Compaq Presario SR5030NX to win 8 and can it use more than 2 GB of memory so?

    Hello

I have Windows 7 on it now and it works fine, but the specs say that it can take only 2 GB of memory. I didn't know if the Compaq Presario SR5030NX is capable of running Windows 8 and if that would allow him to use more memory, or if the memory is a hardware limitation.

    Thank you

    Tania

The following link will offer you if HP has tested your system for Windows 8:
    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/Ad/Windows-8/instructions.html

If your system is not tested, HP will not release the drivers directly for your site template Web HP.com.

The following hyperlink will suggest if your system is compatible with Windows 8:

2 unknown devices would be listed as such and plotted with a yellow question mark.
    3. Select the unknown device or any other device you need of drivers and right-click to access the properties.
    4. in the Properties window, click the Details tab and select Device Instance of Id or hardware ID from the drop-down.
    5. an alphanumeric string, like this DEV_7130 & PCI\VEN_1217 & SUBSYS_012F1025 & REV_01\4 & 6B16D5B & 0 & 33F0 is the marker for the identification of the unit.
    6. Please provide this number so we can offer you the appropriate driver.

According to the specifications of your system, the motherboard can support only 2 GB of maximum memory:

Your laptop has two DIMM slots. The maximum amount of memory, others have upgraded to 4 GB is. The maximum recommended by HP is 2 GB. The memory of replacement should be PC2-5300 667 Mhz, 1.8V

Here is a link to the memory at Crucial.com.  Only use the modules of replacement by major memory creators who produce guaranteed compatible memory modules to avoid the risk of buying incompatible modules.

  • Problems with Compaq Presario 5BW220 RAM

This office is 8 years old and supposedly supports 512 MB memory SDRAM PC100.

Recently, I worked on this for my son-in-law.  It came with 64 MB of SDRAM PC100 and Windows Millennium Edition.  I tried to install 2-256 MB memory SDRAM PC133 maximum amount supported RAM, but it refused to start.  I replaced every 256 MB module with a 128 MB PC100 module and managed to do start.  I expected to read 384, but he will read only 256 MB.  I had not all PC100 256 MB modules to use.  I finally installed modules from 2 to 128 MB PC100 and he left like that.

I never had a problem in the past with an old desk accepting a combination of PC100 and PC133 modules, so it was a first for me.

The Compaq Presario 5BW220 have a problem with the acceptance of this combination, and she actually says a maximum of 512 MB?

Their scanning system could not see what kind of memory I had, but he told me exactly what my motherboard could support. (Type and max of 1 GB per slot)  He even suggested several configurations of memory.
