  Of course. Just compare the date field in your database with the current time as returned by the function of date of your DBMS. Assuming you are using MySQL, you would compare your column with the currdate() function and the appropriate use of upper / lower to operators in the WHERE clause.   I can certainly understand not wanting the Finder of an external drive window to keep opening to a folder that has been used months ago because I wouldn't mine to display that way either.  No worries, there are a few steps here to get the default view has changed on this issue.  Follow these steps here and he should be able to be changed for this external drive:

  Open the Finder, click Display > Display Options > a window will appear to select your display preferences, make your selection here > and if possible use the button "Use as default" to maintain this point of view.

  The "Use as Defaults" button may be grey, if the format of the external drive is not OS X Extended.

  Have you of the 'show Talking Points' enabled in the view menu? Then you can see small white boxes superimposed on the image in the Viewer.

  

  You can enable or disable on / off power with ⌥F talking points.

  on the assumption that you always have access to the navigation bar, right click on the stop button, when the home page is loaded and check the 'Menu Bar' option in the context menu that appears.

  I have a relatively old Satellite A200, yet almost all inside is new except the battery. The battery has a very short life, but that's because its old. Recently the computer started to suddenly lose the battery, so the charge light stays on, the battery light turns off and the battery icon said "plugged in, not charging." However, the computer still work on battery power. If I see it at the time, then by removing and replacing the charger repeatedly, I can start it load again, but if I am not it switches off without warning. Since the battery life is now less than a minute which often.

  Don t think someone could help here in your case.
  No lights (power led, led battery nor ac DC plug-in led) means there could be a problem of serious material maybe the motherboard is missing.

  If the AC adapter is defective, then the laptop must always turn on using battery power ok, this is not possible if the battery would be too empty.

  So usually a technician first test adapter and should try to plug an AC adapter right in order to test this.

  But to me it looks like something wrong with a motherboard :(
  Of course, this is only my personal opinion...
