Compass problems

My IPhone 5SE now uses OS 10 and the compass is more calibrated when turned on - and it seems to point anywhere, but to the North.  Is this a problem with OS 10?

Hi derekfrombeverley,

Thank you for contributing to the communities of Apple Support.

It seems that the Compass app on your iPhone 5 is not calibrate after update to iOS 10. This looks like a problem that we can solve the problems.

First of all, try to remove and reinstall the Compass application by following the steps in remove the built-in apps Apple from the home screen on your device iOS with iOS 10.

You can restart your iPhone between the removal of the Compass application and put it back in the App Store -restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

If the same thing happens after reinstalling, try enabling / disabling location Services and turn it on in settings > privacy > location Services.

You can also try to switch the calibration of the compass defining more precisely, by going to settings > privacy > location Services > System Services.

Let us know if this helps and we can offer you a few extra steps.

Sincerely.

Yes, I have a flipout. I tried Labyrinth lite and it works fine.

You can try to go in the game settings and calibrate the level. You can also try to do a software reset the phone, but you may have a hardware problem.

If a reset does not work, then you will need to exchange the phone. MotoBlur will restore much of your data, but you will lose messages SMS and photos - but let's go back to the top of your data on your computer or SD card.

  • Problem of transparency with a compass 2D plot

    Hello

I use a compass 2D field to view the joint angle. I have the desire to have the plot area and the transparent border of the chart, the plots are so over a picture on my wall and nothing else is visible. So that I can put it in the editor control and with the paint bucket in my VI tool. When I save and reload the vi transparency has been removed. Does anyone have a solution for this? I am running LV10.

I'm sorry. There is no such node property in LV2010. The only work around is to open the next VI and make transparent controls framework using the coloring tool. That VI gives the original looking for the compass. Of workaround only affects the control of Compass on your machine.

  • Xoom compass

Anyone else have problems with the compass of the Xoom? Most of the I downloaded the applications that use it have the compass off the coast of 90 degrees (this may be because the standard Xoom orientation is landscape and phones are portrait). I hope updates but saw almost nothing about it on any of the Xoom advice and starting to wonder if my device is defective!

    mfloser,

I'll keep an eye as well and let you know if I met a trusted application, you can test it with (I can validate myself as well). In the meantime, use Google maps and the GPS function works to see how your Xoom reacts to movement (walk around and check the orientation). It is the same technology used to drive a digital compass interface.

  • Problems of GPS navigation after the 23.4.A.1.200

After updating my Z3 Compact to the 23.4.A.1.200 firmware version, when I lorsque j' utilise uses a navigation app my position (the point) is displayed correctly but my direction (arrow) appears in the opposite direction. Navigate is not convinient, because if I'm heading North my devide believes I'm soing South and, therefore, gives me the wrong orders. First it something I can do about it, or I have to wait for a new update that solves the problems caused by this one?

I checked with Google Maps maps & HERE and that they work as expected. You could try to calibrate your compass sensor. Just search any application of Compass on Google play. There are a number of those that are free.

Another way to do is spend in Service Mode:

    Enter * #* #7378423 #* #* in the dialler.
    Select "Service test".
    Select "compass."
Follow the instructions on the screen to calibrate the compass.

    It will be useful.

  • Updates to blackBerry Q10 compass?

I use the paid version of Star Tracker 1.6.1.1016 but have noticed lately that it all works 'a bit' is not as reliable 100% as it used to be. i.e. the nightsky objects which alignment correctly can be now several degrees off when displayed on screen for example. hold the phone up to the Moon and instead align with the Moon in the sky - it shows the moon as being more high/low/East/West etc. of its present location sometimes completely off the screen. I went through the process of calibration of the compass, and indeed, an icon appears on the screen indicating that calibration takes place and that it is complete.

Logic suggests that the compass on the phone is not calibrated correctly with the app or vice versa. I have the latest version of Star Tracker itself, but with no new BONES carrier (Canada Koodo) update from 10.3.2.2474 - I wonder if there is a refresh/update option enforcement compass itself? Other applications that use co-location services, including the "send my location" feature are very accurate - to the point of identifying correctly (in +/-3 meters) my position within a building.

I had a Q10 SQN100-1 OS 10.3.2.2639, version of the 10.3.2.2474 software, radio version10.3.2.2640 and I don't know if this is relevant, but bands operational capacity of UMTS is 1,2,5,6 and LTE bands capacity is 2,4,5,17

Simple English thoughts or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

In fact, I don't think it is as you say - the compass app. rather, I think it's the GPS receiver, coupled with the accellerometer and other internal devices, which is responsible for the data necessary for the compass with many others (including your Star Tracker app) app.

But, the answer to your question is not... unless BBWorld offers an update for various applications BBWorld provides to your device, then there is no way to force an update of those. And the GPS is a core component, wrapped up to I believe in the core of the operating system itself, not in the applications of any add-on.

Your operating system is not old... but no new marks. There have been three versions of BB since the version you're using, but I have no way of knowing if the issue you report is a known bug at all, and if so, if the fix is included in all the most recent OS releases. But we encourage you to read the OS here release notes to see if something will be useful:

The fundamental question is, what has changed? With these devices, things don't normally just degrade over time, some intermediate event becomes rather due to new behaviors. An update of the OS, a new application, equipment, etc. are all possible intermediate events which could be due to the behavior you're seeing. He liked anything happening?

It could also just be the Star Tracker app - it's totally plausible that they have bugs in their application which are attributable to problems that you see. But, of course, only they can answer that question for you.

There are actions you can try, but most of them will be destructive for the data and configuration that you have on your device. They involve things like a RAG on the device, a refill of OS and other tedious steps... with only a hope of fixing your issue, zero with no guarantee.

One last thought... you did the most basic repair attempt? Restarting the device?

Let us know how you want to proceed.

  • 10 new 10.3.2.440 software problem BlackBerry

is just obliged to software update on Z10.  lock screen messages do not work.  lock screen icons do not work.  very disappointed with blackberry OS.

Yes, a "security Wipe" is the suggestion.

That's if you've already tried several restarts or redefinitions - hold the volumn buttons up and down at the same time for about 10-30 seconds - or until white logo of name 'BlackBerry' come and then goes before releasing the buttons.  This force the phone to close and restart.

If this does not work, then you can try the wipe

A wipe will take some time - like an hour or two (depending on how much you have on it), but it clear out all app previous charge, settings, everything.  It essentially brings your phone to a point where it's like you just received this new out of the box.  It will go through initial and all - including the gestures tutorial installation brief that you will have to go through or he'll you bug on if for days later.

Before you do something this radical, launch a backup with link.  Use the custom option, and then click on "Configuration".  Here, you can include the application executables too.

You can restore, but I'd say at least a selective restore - only your apps but not the settings.  And among the applications, does not restore the duration of BlackBerry.  I also don't usually include the few apps that come with the OS itself, like the compass or the computer - but I think I get those optional only because these applications were updated separately in BlackBerry World and became selectable.

If you were in 10.2.1 before the update, some things don't translate well to 10.3.2,

But, honestly, you're one of the few real problems I've heard since the AT & T roll-out.  There have been complaints here and there - mostly just gripping on the new look.

I heard a lot of problems for those who got the 10.3.1 update OTA on 10.2.1.  I think (and this is just a guess) that AT & T has resisted releasing 10.3.1 because of this.  But, the California law that requires carriers to provide a 'kill switch' (what 10.3.2 provides) forced AT & Ts hand this time.

The security wipe will force you to reset all your settings on the phone, but it is also a good time to get through all the settings to see what has changed.  And a large number.

Remember to save all your multimedia files and documents that you may have in the device memory.  If you have an SD card, which will be very well - nothing would be affected in the process.  But, if you want to tbe course, you can remove it just as you have done.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones has someone else has met the 9900's compass disappear after a security Wipe?

A few days ago, I decided to do a cleaning of security on my 9900, so that I can restart from scratch and troubleshoot problem a few apps. I have discussed this at the time that Rogers (my provider) support, and they told me of all the possible consequences.

Since that time, my Compass app (the one provided with the 9900, out of the box) has disappeared.

Rogers seems to know none of it and wash their hands of it. I was told that I could take with RIM, which will charge me $ for a case resolution. RIM also told me that I can take with Rogers and ask them to take it with RIM, but Rogers tech support says that this is beyond their reach, and they will not do that. Climbing with a Rogers tech support managers has not solved the problem.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

    HERE'S HOW:

I had to tinker myself, but I learned a few things that were not obvious for me: Security wipe and Clean Reload are NOT (on the 9900, at least) the same thing! Security Wipe erases all memory, and then reinstalls the operating system, * but not everything is reinstalled! * In my case, it wipe out compass and possibly other things that I had not even noticed.

Regarding the Clean Reload, I thought if I didn't choose the "Make Backup" option, he would do what I expected with security Wipe, less real SURE wiping from memory. But it does not all of this. For example, I noticed that after clean Reload, there are still a few apps I had installed on my own, as well as compass in return.

    HERE'S THE FINAL SCOOP:

What I did, to my 'out of the box' experience: I did the security wipe, followed by the own of the charging, with no backup. Compass was back.
