  • Pavillion DV4 - add WWAN - Possible card?

Now, before it all goes further: Yes, I know , I can simply add a USB WWAN solution and I thank those who might suggest that, but this isn't what I want to do. Don't mean to be rude, just want to go to the essence of what I seek to do and get answers for this purpose only.

I am interested in adding a WWAN card on my laptop Pavillion DV4.  I opened the compartment where the card should go and see that the location is available.  What so I'm looking at?  Is it really that [relatively] easy, adding just the card, or is there something I'm missing here?

I watched the maintenance manual for the DV4 and see that it mentions the WLAN and WWAN antenna under the screen.  Network card wireless antennas attached to it, but in the compartment where the card WWAN would go there is no antenna that I see.  Does this mean that he is no antennas as part of the screen, or just simply not visible from the compartment?  And, more important still, actually kills any possibility of using WWAN via this minimap (except rewiring the frame of the screen, of course)?

Want to play mad scientist with this project and I know that I can make it work, but I could use some answers from someone who has a knowledge of this machine.  I can take it from there.

Thanks in advance for any feedback/input; We appreciate it!

  • Satellite L10-155 and Mini-pci

    Hello

    I plan to buy a Satellite L10-155.
I know there is no mini-pci wireless network card installed, but my question is: is there an empty available mini-pci SLOT which could hold such a card?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ted

As much as I know this unit is not ready WLAN. That means there is no antenna and mini PCI card can not work at all. The only solution is the external device, as the card wifi PCMCIA or same WLAN USB stick.

  • Satellite 2450-101 Mini PCI card please

I have a Satellite 2450-101, which is longer under warranty. I upgraded the memory and noticed a mini-pci slot with two waiting for a card antenna cables. I need a g card (the 3300 looks like a good bet). The manual refers to a mini-pci slot and the CD from the laptop comes with Atheros drivers for the same... I am currently using a PCMCIA card but want to spend money with Toshiba to get a good onboard solution. I called Toshiba who say that he is not a slot in my laptop... Please please don't refer me to a partner because I've never actually talked to one yet. Honest answer please... can I mount a mini-pci card... is the 3300 OK, and how do I join the cables (if this is difficult, I won't)...
    Thank you

    Hello

I found information that your device is ready for the Mini PCI Wireless card. As you know on the wireless card there are two connectors that are marked of PRINCIPAL and auxiliary normally a white cable goes to the ESSENTIAL and a black to the auxiliary voltage

Sorry, but I can't tell you exactly what wireless card will be the best for you. In my opinion, you should contact partner in your country. I'm sure they can give you correct information, which is compatible with your device and how much it will cost.

    Good luck!

  • On port free mini pci-e in Pavilion dv4 series

I know that whole new dv4 series features a free mini pci-e slot.

When you customize, which is optional for the WSSD. is it not?

Then, can I use this mini pci-e slot with mSATA SSD?

    Hey Ruby,.

You are right, you can use the mini pci-e slot for one SSD drive.

  • N Alvorix-RS880-Μatx, mini PCI compatibility.

    I have this computer: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02629593

I would like to be able to upgrade the Wi - Fi card. The current 'integrated' card in what I can identify as a machine slot "mini PCI express. Every ounce of research I did said that there should be documentation that tells me what are the cards will work with the motherboard. but I can not find this material anywhere.

If anyone knows where I should look for this documentation, I would be grateful!

Specifically, the map I want must be able to strips 5.0 GHz and 2.4 GHz, so to have the bluetooth feature.

I already bought an Intel Centrino card from this page: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007QXLIU0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and had to return, as the drivers do not work on my PC. I contacted Intel support and all they could tell me was that I needed to find the above documentation for my motherboard.

    -Stephen

Ok thank you. This is useful. I'm not sure what Intel you expect to do with 'literature '. Your motherboard is here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02560084
... who says just you have a mini PCIe location. I noticed that the Amazon reviews were mixed. It seemed to work for most people, but there were a few that had similar problems. Looks like the people who had questions were configurations ASUS/AMD... that yours is as well. I imagine that this Intel card would work pretty well along with an Intel chipset. Like you, I found nothing of system requirements Intel on this product that he mentions would be incompatible with a PCIe version sort. I'm puzzled. I can not recommend one brand over another, but a little research for one that works better with an AMD chipset?

  • Install the Mini PCI wireless network card. Need help!

    Hello
I have laptop Toshiba 5200-701 which is upgradble of wireless network, so I bought the mini PCI card Philips wireless brand. The reference is PH12127-E/PH11107-E and support 802.11a/b/g network address MAC 00 4F 05 43 88 F4.
When I inserted the card in the laptop it shows new hardware found and then I downloaded website IBM software since I was told that this card is basically designed for laptop IBM, however, my laptop is unable to install the software and still facing problem... so please could someone help.
    Thank you very much.

    Moral salvation

Well, in my opinion, you bought a bad wireless card. I don t think that your game can works with your device. Before you buy some hardware components, you need to check the compatibility of these parts. Toshiba service partners always have information about the units on the right. However, I found a wireless card that is compatible with your laptop. It's a PA3212U-1MPC.

  • Satellite P10 722: what Mini-PCI WLAN can I integrated?

    Hello

I have a Satellite P10 722. It seems to be ready wireless (it has an LED to show the WLAN activity). I would use an internal Mini-PCI card in it. Ideally, it would be a b/g card.

Anyone know what model/part number Mini-PCI card will work with this laptop.
She is not in the list of compatibility of the any of the maps on this page (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/options_and_accessories_search.jsp?z=16&service=UK & selOptionCategory = 4696)

    Thanks for your help,
    Shane

    Hello Shane

Sorry, but this kind of information can give you just the authorized service partner. I don't know if the P10 722 is ready WLAN but you can check only. In the lower corner of the unit, you will find WiFi coverage. Remove it carefully and check if there are two antenna WLAN (black and white) cables. If so, the device is definitely ready WLAN.

Contact the Service partner and ask them for you to adapt to your model of laptop. As far as I know, the consultation is free.

Just for info. One of my friends has P10 with WLAN (802 11b Agere) card.

    Good bye

  • Card wireless Mini PCI for Satellite Pro has 10

Someone at - it successfully installed the Toshiba PA3300U-1MPC or any other in Satellite Pro A10 (model PSA15E-01PJY) wireless Mini PCI card? This model already has the internal antenna, the switch and the LED
    mounted.

On the site of Toshiba UK accessories compatibility table indicates that the wireless adapter is compatible with the Satellite Pro A10 series. When I called the helpline (0870 444 89440) Toshiba, we said that this wireless card was not compatible with my laptop and have been unable to provide any internal wireless card that was.

    Thanks for any help

    John Storey

    Hello

@ drewlfths: I m not 100% sure where the wireless network card is placed on Satellite Pro M10.
But in my opinion it s under the keyboard. I think the best way is to contact Toshiba service in your country for details.

By the way: the Satellite Pro M10 supports only the standard Wi - Fi: 802. 11B. In this case I n t think you will be able to use a super G standard.

In your case, I prefer to use an external solution such as a Wlan USB key.

  • The NB305 has a mini PCI-E slot?

    Hello
    I have a NB305 (PLL3AA-01E009), I have purchased from HN about 3 months ago.

I just read with interest on Whirlpool where a guy pulled apart his Aircard 880U and adapted from the mini pci-e card in his laptop computer "Dell".

As my NB305 has a light for WWAN (at the front), but no hardware, I wonder if she has the pci - e slot, where I too may be able to adapt this card?

I checked the specifications and is no pci-e slot - but the light on the front gives me hope!

    See you soon,.
    Rick

The light in the front doesn't say much. Loan of equipment (slot, antenna) and compatibility is important.
If I understand you well this guy that write you about has probably changed his address. What you want to change on your laptop?

If you want to use the AirCard 880U USB version of this card check card.

  • R100 mini PCI slot

Is it possible for me to access the connector MINI PCI on my Portege R100? If so, how is it accessible? I want to upgrade the wireless network card.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I put t know exactly where is the MINI PCI slot. In my opinion, he may be somewhere under the keyboard. I don't really know if it's a good idea that makes you one. This is a very nice and in my opinion very sensitive unit.

In my opinion, this should be done by professionals. By the way your device supports wireless LAN / Wi - Fi Standard: 802. 11B and Wireless LAN / Wi - Fi Standard: 802. 11 b / g.

  • 5200-903: Agere Mini-PCI will not find any wireless LANs

    Hi all

I recently installed the correct map of Toshiba Mini-PCI (drivers Agere) on my Satellite. Drivers installed end (v. 7.62.0.390), but the card refuses to find my access point. Config-Free utility said: No WLAN connection. I checked the cables of more than two times :-), know what configured (IP, WEP etc..) ... After checking the radiation that WIN XP must set up WLAN, it worked not either (MSKB 871122).
Is this a known issue with everyone, or are there any other config tools compatible to the Mini-PCI?

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Hello

I hope that the WLAN antenna is properly connected. Check if the white cable is connected to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltage

  • Mini-PCI I have a Satellite A60-302 - myth or reality?

    Hello!

I have a Satellite A60-302 (PSA60E-00J030HU) and theoretically there is no MiniPCI slot in the computer (at least it does not mention the Hungarian manual), but the online manual (preinstalled on your laptop) refers to a cover on the bottom as "Cover WLAN", that material incidentally doesn't not part of this model. (And the part of the motherboard under this coverage is not something that resembles a slot MiniPCI, well that according to the English manual and specifications online to some Toshiba Page, I found in the Linux knowledge base, it must be part of this config.)
Allright, there is no MiniPCI, I said, I should buy a PCMCIA CardBus WiFi adapter. I thought I'll check on the toshiba online store, to be sure, I'm buying quality products. But when I choose 'Specific product Options' and choose my config, the Bank's research concludes _only_ MiniPCI solutions for my laptop, which theoretically (and physically) does not support.
Is it not a bit strange? :)

    Hello
beginning of the "742" series machine was delivered with Wifi (Build-in).

But even if a Mini PCI card would fit in your Machine, the problem is that you have no generation of antenna in.

These are normally inside the display cover.

So the best way is to buy a Wifi USB key. His fabulous work but not manufactured by Toshiba.

    Running perfectly with my A60-102...

  • Satellite A30 - 303 install wireless mini PCI card internal

    Hello
I am installing a PA3300U (Atheros) mini PCI WiFi internal card and have a basic question that I hope someone will be able to answer. There are two cables, white and black (under the cover of the wireless card on the case) which I suppose are for the internal antenna. The question is where do these attach to on the mini-PCI card (unfortunately I have no instructions for the card mounting)?
I'll be very grateful for any assistance with this.
    Best regards, Dave.

    Hello

I don't actually see one of the Atheros cards, but on other brands, there are two connectors that are marked with the HAND and to THE.
A white cable normally goes to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltage
