Compatibility of Portable HP Officejet H470 with Windows 7 wireless capabilities

I bought a HP Officejet H470 back in 2010 and the wireless features are not compatible with Windows 7.  Does anyone have information looking for drivers of compatibility?  I did not.

Original title: Portable HP Officejet H470

It seems that if cut off the part of your answer.  For this

When I download the base drivers or the full version, the system does not recognize my USB connection.  Can't find it on the

say you cannot the printer to be installed even by using a USB connection?  The printer must be installed using the USB cable before installing the wireless adapter (although this is not mandatory).

This

When I insert the USB key for the printer (802. 11 b/g adapter USBeless LP/SC) the following message is what I get when I try to update the driver:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information.

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

sounds as if you plug the wireless USB adapter into your computer.  If I understand correctly, you're supposed to plug this unit into the printer.  See these directions: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01160515&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_us/c01160515/loc:1 & cc = us & dlc = en & lc = en & product = 3619495 for some pictures.

I think it's time for a fresh start.

What follows assumes you have another printer installed on this computer (or you don't mind reinstalling all other printers).  If this assumption is not correct, proceed to the "light option" below.

This procedure also assumes that you have never installed this printer on a network that uses a router. Your printer is able to record 3 different network profiles.  As far as I know, the Setup program on the CD assumes that the printer is at its default value of the plant, so if you have already configured the printer works on a wireless network, Setup may not work correctly.  To deal with this, the simplest method is to reset the configuration of the network default printer (assuming that you have more need configured network settings before).  To reset all 3 network profiles, press and hold the Power button, press the Cancel (X) button twice and then press the Resume button (down arrow) six times.  See user's Guide page 58

  1. Unplug the printer from the computer.
  2. Uninstall all software of printer from the control panel > programs and features.
  3. Download and run Microsoft 'Full mode' fix 50979 from here--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793718/en-us
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Connect the adapter to the printer wireless
  6. Run the "full functionality" package that you downloaded (OJH470_Full_13.exe)
  7. Click the menu button for the type of connection to use (wireless)
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions, temporarily connect the USB cable when prompted

For more detailed instructions, see pages 50 et seq. of your User Guide.

Light option (if you do not want to uninstall and reinstall other printers):

For step 2, don't uninstall the HP printer software

For step 3, use the "light" mode fix 50984 from the same web page, such as 'Full' Fix It mode.

For an explanation of what do Fix It mode light and complete routines, see http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2012/02/24/microsoft-fixit-for-printing.aspx?Redirected=true&PageIndex=1#comments

  • levels of ink onto printer officejet K5400 with windows 7

recently turned to a new computer with windows 7 and downloaded the compatible print driver 64 bit works fine but there is no tool more for ink levels and no way to determine which of the 4 ink ink cartridges when I get a message of ink out of.  print test page didn't help not-show not good, even when she ink give ink levels and all the boxes.  does anyone have a solution?

    Hello chickenman,.

    Hmm, ok. Let's try this:

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program HP Imaging\bin or C:\Programs\HP\Digital Imaging\bin. You will find a file called hpqtbx01.exe. That right click and select "Create shortcut" right-click on the shortcut you created and select Properties. In the area called target, add "HP Officejet Pro K5400 series" after the existing path if it looks like this: "C:\Program HP Imaging\bin\hpqtbx01.exe" 'HP Officejet Pro K5400 series' (note the space between the path and the name of the printer). It might be that for you, the name of the printer must be different because it must match what we call the printer in printers and devices, but if you have not renamed the printer after installing it just, you should be able to copy the above.

When you use this shortcut to open the Toolbox, you should be able to see the ink levels etc. Place the shortcut on the desktop and rename it to something that makes sense, like Officejet Pro K5400 Toolbox or something like that.

  • With the help of printer wireless HP Officejet 6500 with Windows 8.

I have a HP Officejet 6500 wireless all-in-One printer and a laptop from Samsung with Windows 8.  How can I select print all, selection or Pages (option) when you print a document online or on my computer?

I use a printer-E709n and thank you and all the others to try to help me with this problem, but I found the solution to my problem.  It seems that not all e-icons are not created equal.  I have internet access of the e icon on the start page of Windows 8 when I should have access through the e icon on the office page.  They take you to two different pages.  Open Web page through the e-icon of the start page has no internet tool gear symbol in the header (the symbol of charm tool gear does not bind to the printer either) and clicking on Ctrl-P does not bring to the top of the window to print even as in previous versions of Windows.  My spirit guide was able to get this information for me.

  • How to install my HP OfficeJet G85 with Windows 7 (64-bit) and a parallel cable?

I have a PC that has Windows XP (sp-3), the HP OfficeJet G85, all works well with a parallel cable of the G85 to the computer.  I got the updated operating system upgraded to Windows 7 (64-bit).  Put everything back with my parallel cable, I installed the G85 on the computer and tried to print a page.  Nothing.  So far, help did not help and I'm getting nowhere.  Someone knows how to fix this?

I'm not sure if Win7 will come back to the parallel cable. Is there a reason any your using the parallel cable instead of USB? This printer driver is included in Windows 7, but AFAIK you must use a USB cable. Here are the instructions on how to install Win7 with a USB cable: the driver for your product is included in the Windows 7 operating system

    Good luck!

  • HP Officejet J4540 All In One: Why can't check my ink levels on my officejet J4540 with windows 8.1 installed on my computer

I want to check on my printer ink levels, but there is no way I can see to do since I installed

Windows 8.1 on my computer. There must be another way to check it out, but I can't figure out how.

    Hi @sneakers1491,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you're wondering how to check the ink with your HP Officejet J4540 levels. I'm happy to help you!

First of all, I recommend going through this guide, check the ink levels for HP Officejet J4500 and J4600 all-in-One Printer Series.

If this does not work for you, on the printer itself, press the key icon in the upper right corner, it will take you to settings, then continue to press the right arrow until you see print report, then press OK. You will see the self-test on the screen, press OK again. Will display the test page, and then you will see the level of ink on the printed page.

    I hope this information helps!

  • Configure the xbox with windows vista wireless controller

I recently bought a wireless Xbox 360 controller to use for playing mainly with Call of Duty 4 on my PC
I followed all the instructions and have the wireless receiver but cannot operate at all which is extremely frustrating
I have an install 32-bit windows vista Home premium
    Can someone please

    Hello Foxesfan1.

First step would be to ensure that the controller is actually seen correctly by Windows.  I'll assume that you have already synced the controller and the wireless receiver by pressing the button on the receiver and the little one on top of the controller.

To make sure that the controller is configured correctly in Windows start tying the game controllers in the box start the search on Windows 7, the option is called installation USB game controllers.  It could be called game controllers or something similar on Windows Vista, I have here in front of me to check.

Anyway it should open a window called game controllers, the controller must be in there, in this case click Properties and check that all buttons work properly.

If it is then its probably does not work because Call of Duty either is not setup in support of controllers (a ride in his options to enable the controllers support), or simply does not support at all, not all areas of PC games. • Scrolling the mouse stuck with (Windows 7) wireless mouse

I have an optical mouse Labtec wireless for laptops. It causes a scrolling to happen unintentionally with the sliders and the drop-down lists, as long as the mouse is positioned on the element.

    For example:

    (1) when I joined these forums and had to choose a country made mouse scroll down to the bottom without my intervention (other than by selecting the menu drop-down). Almost all the drop-down boxes tend to be done regardless of what program it is in.

    (2) if I try to adjust the volume in the system triggers the sound mouse tray even when I'm trying to lower it.

    (3) in some programs of the mouse scrolls the page automatically. It does not work with all programs. Chrome, IE, Firefox, Acrobat, Notepad and many others is not affected.

    (4) I don't have these problems with XP at all, but I did when I used Ubuntu (mouse would scroll the tabs and cycle always to the first area of the taskbar of Ubuntu.) I had to alt - tab to switch windows).

    (5) for my first installation of Chrome, the mouse would be automatically scroll the tabs to the first even if I haven't done stationary above the tabs. I could could properly select another tab if I clicked it and then left mouse tabs quickly.

I did which solved the problem:

" The document suggested to change some registry values to disable this behavior of high resolution. So I did exactly cela and adds the following entries 2 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\HID\Vid_xxxx & Pid_yyyy\\Device Parameters

    VScrollHighResolutionDisable  = 1

    (5) I tried to open the mouse and by removing the mouse wheel. This had no effect. I couldn't scroll through manually, but the mouse would be automatically scroll.
    I'm puzzled. Can anyone help?

    Seted Hello,

Thank you for your message.  Have you tried to use a different mouse or port on your computer?  In addition, you can try using your mouse on another computer to see if the behavior is the same, in this case, the problem may be with your mouse.  Please let us know.

    Hello swindco,

Have you tried to change the wireless channel that your router is running at? There may be interference that could prevent the network connection:

Take a look at step 6 in this article that give more details about it:

If you need assistance to change the settings of the specific router, you will need to contact your router manufacturer or your internet service provider.

    Hi Steve74Navy,

The main problem is that the printer does not support Ethernet connectivity or wireless. Most of the routers on the market have wireless and Ethernet ports. If this printer has an Ethernet port you can connect to the router and then connect PC to the router and print that way. I don't see how you get this printer wireless sorry.
