compatibility of service

The feature of report of problems in the Control Panel indicates a problem of compatibility with a bluetooth service.  Have stopped all the bluetooth services that emerged since the problem always causes the machine to lock up.  downloaded a microsoft tool that shows the details of the service, but says nothing about the problems of compatibility of service.  How can you proceed from this point. ?

MNewsome salvation,

I suggest to try to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

If the problem persists in safe mode run clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Try to update the drivers.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-drivers-recommended-links

Also install the missing updates via windows update.

Provide the information to the event log.

  • Cannot turn off Program Compatibility Assistant

I hope someone can provide me with a way to disable the program compatibility Wizard. I had this same problem in the Beta, but of course during the beta test I used Windows 7 Ultimate. First off I would like to start by pointing out that I do run with Windows 7 Home Premium.

That said, I know that this means that the most common solution, using Local Group Policy Editor to disable the program compatibility Wizard won't work, as the Home Premium does not gpedit.msc.

Now, this is the part confusing, at least to me. I found an alternative solution specifically designed to fill this gap. I was directed to the access to Servicesand localization Program Compatibility Assistant Service, stop the service and then turn it off (via the properties for this service). I did exactly that. He is arrested and the Startup Type is "off". I even rebooted.

Now here's the part that confuses me... it always comes back. How can he do that when I have the service stopped? This is another aspect of the security of Windows 7 I am not aware of this must be disabled?

As a note, when I tried to install the software in question, I chose "Run as Administrator", just in case, and who didn't yet have any advantage. If anyone knows what I have to do, including instructions on changing my recording, let me know. Thank you.

    Hi Mobius187,

I'm afraid to say that in Windows 7 Home Edition Premium, it is not possible to disable this feature.
The only way to turn it off is by using the Group Policy Editor.

    Hope that answers your question.

  • My computer crashes because of microsoft services

    Hi all

I don't know if it is displayed everywhere elsewhere or if im not in the right Department, if any of you please redirect me.

Now for the issue. A few days ago, I turned on my computer and it froze. It froze all showing the office (all the shortcuts and icons were there) but when I put my cursor over the taskbar, things were going to turn into the loading circle. I could click on the office, but then it would freeze too. CTRL + ALT + DEL didn't work, nor the windows button, alt f4 or anything else. Had to restart manually by using the restart on lap button. Initially, the only way to make it work again was to enter in safe mode and restore system to update critical windows. Which fixed the problem only for this perticular restart, if you restarted the pc problem reoccured and had to start all over again. After I saw that by selecting Start from the last know configuration by pressing f8 at startup, I was also able to work around this problem but once again only for this specific initialization. I also tried the system repair via boot and the windows CD, but windows has detected no errors (?). So I searched online for the problem and found a thread of usefell on how to do a clean boot. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

After many restarts and a lot of boot to the last known configuration, I came to the conclusion of paragraph last step 5. As a last step i rebooted since the last good configuration known and seen that microsoft services is running, and who have been arrested. (I came to the reason that the problem is caused by one of the stop microsoft services have I reason to suppose that?) The problem is there are much too that many order services and im asking if anyone knows a way I can quickly find without having to reboot every time one by one and if anyone else has had the same problem. (Oh and is it possible to list all the services does not).

    My computer specs are:

  • Offered a LOT of Office 2007 updates... but I have Office 2010

I have a new laptop with Windows 7. It came preloaded with (among a lot of other things, Boulard for Toshiba bloatware) a trial version of Office Home & Student 2007.  I never activated it. I bought a card of product key for Office home and student 2010 and got that downloaded and installed.

Now, in the list of updates of Windows being offered to me, there are a whole bunch of stuff for Office 2007. I uninstalled this trial version. I don't think that I need these updates. I want that they go away. How to make that happen? I don't want to download and install more than 300 MB of stuff I don't need, just to make my tidy list updated. Thanks for the suggestions.

You have Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack, the Web, viewers etc. installed components?

Let the update install - it downloads only what suits him and then you'll get rid of it. However, you can hide it if you really want to.

You might just have something installed requiring a small part of this massive download that is why it will not download the entire file if Office 2007 is not installed.

It has nothing to do with what version of Windows you are using. He
has to do with which version of Word you are using (or if you)
    have installed the compatibility pack).

The .docx format is the default format used by Word 2007 and 2010.
Since you are using Word 2003, you can't natively read .docx
    files.

There are two possible solutions to your problem:

    1. ask your correspondent to refer the file to the old .doc format. He
can do this by choosing Save as, rather than save.

2 download and install the free "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats"to

Should I all of this and if not those who can I delete to make room on my drive?

    1. you have Office 2007?

    2. you receive files in Office 2007 format?

  • Scans registration in the wrong place! Epson Perfection V300 and 4990, scanners Canon MP250 and Windows 7

I have a network of 4 computers using scanners Epson Perfection and Canon with a scanning interface that writes data to MS Access. Since we were forced to move to Win7, when we try to scan, the scanner tent to save files on the wrong drive, even if for the program .ini settings to specify a certain path (a drive shared on our main computer) and I also put the scanners to record on the same path on the shared computer. I work at a University and the tech here guys are stumped. We rotated scanners on compatibility XP service pack 2 and 3, and which seems to solve some problems, but certainly not more. Our scanning time is now much more time, as if there is a queue we expect and if someone else is written to disk, the second in the queue gets hunting their Doc local computer or desktop folder. Before winning 7 upgrades, we never had this problem. Some computers are brand new, others are a bit older. Any suggestions here?

Finally we will migrate to a SQL format, but until we have completed the first phase of our project we stuck withAccess and this problem of scanning.

  • Vostro 460 - impossible to format HDD / secondary 3 - to

I am trying to replace my 1 TB * secondary * hard drive with a 3 TB drive (my system drive is 500 GB).  I can't format the drive - error "the Volume Simple volume is currently in use.".  If I continue, the system hangs with BSOD.

I have Win - 7 64-bit Ultimate. I was given the option to format GPT or MBR and I chose TPG and the partition has been created using the disk set.

    Disk management plugin displays:
1 basic disk; 2794.39 GB; Online
    (F) 2794.39 GB GROSS
    Healthy (Primary Partition)

It is a disc of 3 TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 for use as a backup disk internal.  When I right click on the drive and choose format, I get the error "disk is in use".

I would appreciate help get this disk formatted.

I read that the AntiVirus software can be the cause of the error. These are processes which I think could be the cause of the problem:
-Microsoft ForeFront Client Security (main AV)
    -Malwarebytes Anti-MalWare (side AV)
    -2012 Jersey Acronis

If I disable the ForeFront and Malwarebytes, the same thing happens.
I went into services and off all Acronis and also above AV software services and get always the same problem.

Someone told me that I needed to UEFI, but I don't know how to tell if it's in the Vostro 460... and, why I have access to the option in the GPT format, and then have the whole disk partition appears in disk management?

  • Visual Studio Team System 2008 Service Pack 1 Compatibility Update to the newer version of Team Foundation Server 2010?

    Hello

is the Setup Visual Studio Team System 2008 Service Pack 1 Compatibility Update for Team Foundation Server 2010interoperability your component most recent?

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=CF13EA45-D17B-4edc-8E6C-6C5B208EC54D & displaylang = from & displaylang = in #Overview

I discovered that was released in October 2009.

I'm looking for the information if it was only your latest version?

    Thank you in advance,

    Ewa Jolanta

Yes, it seams to be the latest version. But for development issues, use the MSDN Forums:

  • No XP (service pack 3) or run as Administrator program compatibility options.

Another issue is before you install a program that I downloaded, I right click it and go to properties > compatibility and under run this program in compatibility mode for: there is no option for Windows XP service pack 3 or run as Administrator option. It lists only older versions of Windows and Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5). I doubled checked that my OS is XP (service pack 3) and my account has administrator privileges, so it's really confusing me! Any clarification would be much appreciated!

    -Eva :)

Have you tried just downloading, just empty without trying to run it in compatibility mode? I don't think you'll find an xp in the drop-down list entry simply because you run a xp machine and there is no place to enter xp when you try to run a compatible software xp on a xp machine.

  • Compatibility issue with the version of media center 2004 and Windows XP Service Pack 3!

I have a problem getting Media Center 2004 version compatibility to work with Windows XP, Service Pack 3. Does anyone know of a problem here? Are they compatible? If not, anyone know if there is a fix for this?

The material that I was referring to is the material that you were talking about, namely your card graphic and sound card. I thought that this could be as simple as installing the correct hardware drivers.

As I am not very familiar with your particular PC, it is not that I do. You can switch to the thread where PA bear you helped:

  • XP service pack 3 compatibility. __

I have been unable to find out what support for the operating system above stopped or will stop and all the tracks on the site of MS to find software and hardware compatibility ends without answers.

Specifically, I had great difficulty establishing Epson NX415 in my XP service pack 3 operating system. Epson claims it's XP problem. I have finally done installation but always error message when I turn on the NX415 installation failed - "color invalid profile" I simply ignore that both the scanner and the printer works now from this computer. Installation on a laptop with Windows 7 has been flawless - no error - no problems - but I started by downloading the drivers from Epson online and avoided using the CD as it does not list Windows 7 on CD - ergo research of hardware and software on the site of MS re the NX415 and XPpro Service pack 3 32-bit system compatibility.

There is a lot of confusion and mislead of information available on the Internet on "end of support" for Windows XP and Microsoft doesn't make things easier.  As nearly as I can determine, Microsoft will continue to provide updates of security (via Windows/Microsoft Update) until April 2014.  See, for example, http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/xp-in-2020-not-even-close-read-the-fine-print/2270?tag=mantle_skin;content

The foregoing is completely irrelevant to your problem to install an Epson NX415 on Win XP sp 3.

Whenever 1 it reseller says, 'the problem with my product is computer dealer of 2 problem', the consumer is one who has the real problem.  If you are going to rely if Epson fails to support his product and ask for help here, it would be helpful if you explain exactly what Epson claimed was the problem with Windows XP. Or do you have Epson technology not simply say: 'we cannot understand it. It must be a Windows problem. »

Can you describe the "great difficulty", that you had to install the Epson software?

In general, the best way to deal with printer problems is to completely uninstall the printer and all related software and then start again.  I can understand that you may be somewhat reluctant to do so given the time and you have already apparently devoted an effort, but that is my suggestion.

The driver and software package for your printer for Windows XP 32-bit is available from Epson here:http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=128287&prodoid=63083741&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows (it seems in fact that if the same package is for XP, Vista and Win 7, then you already on your computer in Windows 7).

Download the package and follow the instructions here to clean your old s/w before installing the new:http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_One.htm

You can also use this: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

If I were you, I disconnect the computer from the Internet and turn off your antivirus application completely and all other anti-malware applications before starting the installation of the printer software.

You might even go so far to start msconfig (start > run > msconfig > OK), perform the following steps:

    • Click on "Select Startup" and uncheck "Load Startup items".
    • Go to the Services tab, click the box for "Hide all Microsoft services", and then click "disable all".
    • Click OK
    • Restart the computer before proceeding with the installation of the printer software.
  • Compatibility problem XP Dell Wireless 1395 mini-map WLAN driver currently installed Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack II

Hi, my OS is Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack 2 - installed on XP by the owner without first unintalling XP.  Although my Device Manager lists the mini-map Dell Wireless WLAN 1395 as working properly, what Windows says that it has stopped working correctly because the driver installed is not compatible with my current operating system (just one of the many questions).  Although I can get online wireless most of the time, IE and Google Chrome often freeze and there are a few minutes, I got a blue screen - not for the first time - that shut down Windows.  I note the other error message information that a fatal error has occurred that required Windows stops, so am not sure that the two problems are related or not.  I tried to find a compatible driver for what I assume is a WLAN Mini card for the original XP OS on the compatibility of Vista site, but there is no driver is listed for the Dell Wireless WLAN mini-map 1395.

I have the Vista installation CD, but not the verification code necessary to reinstall.  It will appear somewhere on this computer under the program or the ancillary system (information) available to administrators?

Just out of curiosity, there is a feature of rectangular white USB printed with the name "Biogear" attached to one of my ports, although he is not listed among devices on my computer since the computer laptop original owner died and I can not ask what is its purpose or what program it was meant to facilitate. I tried to remove it and it came out (the envelope detached the part inserted into the USB port) without affecting my ability to access the Internet wireless.  An internet search has a line of golf apparel and a few articles in German... Any ideas?  Thanks, Lara

If the original owner installed Vista on XP, you need to reformat and do a fresh install of Vista or you will continually have problems multipling. If the original owner is an update from XP to Vista it is OK. However, the problems that you're seen suggest the original owner installed Vista on XP. Verification code (if found on the computer) will not be for Vista but for XP. As long as your operating system is installed, you can retrieve the key with Free Key finder software, do a search and you will find them on the internet. Also if you have the CD and ask for a new key to Microsoft you will get it at a very low price, I don't know no current tax, was $ $10,00. Since you are not the original owner (and the first owner died) both of these options may not be totally legal, unless you can provide proof of purchase or the person deseased was a member of the family.
