Compensation of host EEPROM on NI FlexRIO 6585 adapter

I'm trying to clean up memory host on 6585 LVDS adapter OR using methods descrived in the letter of volatility http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4B0A422D33D86C8986257788006ED0DE.

The document indicates that no Volatile memory size in 2 KB. When I try to use the FlexRIO_Host_EEPROMReadByteArray, it doesn't let me read 255 bytes of 2 k.  This size is correct and if so, is the user part accessible through other means?

When I read it, I get AA, 1F, B1, FF, FF in hexadecimal 10, 74, 88, 93, 01... (continuous FF at the end).  These initial FF, identification device configuration information numbers and the module?  If I crush them with the values null, I created the module of reading problems?

-Jim

Hi JKneale,

I think that the first 8 digits are for the configuration of the device and the credentials of the module, but I'm climbing this question for R & D to provide you with a response more concrete.

    Thanks for the extra detail. I see that you're not the only one who experiences this problem, it looks like something Microsoft would have to help you with.

  • Fibre channel host bus adapters should be removed if not in use?

    We have a Dell Poweredge R720 server that has a Qlogic host an orphan in her bus adapter. The lighting on the HBA flashes yellow, green and orange. I wonder if this orphan adapter could use the system resources and if it should be removed.

    Kimblbob,

    Despite the HBA is not used, it will use resources. Now granted it's a very tiny amount, but he uses them what. When the card is installed, it will draw power, as well as the host server will spend processes in the sending of communications "heartbeat" with the card, it is ready to use it... Thus, while it is a VERY small amount, he uses them.

    I see no problem with you withdraw during a maintenance window.

    Hope this helps to answer your question.

  • USB Wifi between host (Win7) and comments (Ubuntu)

    Hi all

    I learn some stuff of WiFi security, and I installed Ubuntu in my VMWare Workstation 11 environment. My host OS is Windows 7, which is connected to my home network via Wifi

    Now, what I need is in the OS (i.e. Ubuntu) invited, I should be able to allow wireless access (so that I can run Wifi network scans etc.). I filled my network and laso used NAT, that give me access to my home network via my host, but they appear as wired connections in Ubuntu. If I understand correctly, this is possible by using a USB WiFi dongle.

    I bought a USB WiFi dongle now (it should arrive in a few days), but I don't know how can I get my Ubuntu OS guest to use this USB Wifi adapter while keeping my OS host on the built-in Wifi adapter.

    Simple I plug in the USB network adapter in my laptop and it will be recognized in Ubuntu or whatever I need to do some settings in VMware?

    Thanks in advance

    I got this job, post my answer for posterity

    I bought a TP Link WN823N USB Wifi adapter.

    (1) keep your host Wifi on. Plug the USB, let it download the drivers
    (2) once installed, turn on your virtual machine
    (3) open VMWare, right-click on your VM-> removable devices
    Here, you should see your USB adapter. Select Connect (disconnect from the host). He will now connect the adapter USB Wifi for your Linux VM and alto - it should work!

    What it does is essentially the WiFi adapter will be connected to the virtual machine and disconnected from the host and the host can continue to use the built-in WiF

  • Cannot add P2000 SAS LUN to host vmware

    I have two HP DL380 G6 vmware hosts and a P2000 storage device. The P2000 is connected directly to the two hosts with two SAS controllers. In hosts, I installed HP Sc08e PCI HBA adapters. A host (running ESXi 4.0) is connected to the storage and can make use of data warehouses. The other host (running ESX 4.0) does not see the new storage adapter.  During POST, the server lists the new adapter so the hardware itself is aware that there is a new HBA, but within Vsphere host is not simply see the adapter.

    The P2000 LUNS are mapped to all ports of P2000 for two guests. P2000 configuration the two hosts are set up for exactly the same thing.

    Can anyone suggest why I'm having this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Are the two hosts on the same build? According to the HCL , looks that the driver has been added to ESX 4.0 with update 1. Before that, you need to download and install manually.

  • Strorage VMFS on ESX 3.5 host with multiple disks

    We have an ESX host configured with 2 discs: the first is mirrored (raid 1) 230 GB for the host operating system. The second is a 4 TB raid 5 for VM.

    When we look at the host "Configuration tab - & gt; Hardware - storage adapter - & gt; Target component"SCSI 0 reflects the mirror (230 GB) and SCSI target 1 reflects the Raid 5 (4,09 TB) correctly.

    If I go to "Configuration tab - & gt; "Hardware - storage" curiously the vmhba 0:0:0 (230 GB drive) does not appear in the listed storage pane.

    and

    When I try to 'Storage to add' the greatest player, I can create on vmhba 0:1:0 (4to) is a vmfs3 96 GB partion.

    I would use the partion full 4TB! I can do this with vmfs3 or am I still limited to 2 TB without point. (Prefer not to use the extensions)

    Finally 'and how' since when adding storage gives me only 96 GB as "Max capacity"?

    Your help is needed and appreciated muchly.

  • DRAM - FIFO 'always' FULL

    Hello!

    Currently working on streamed data with an associated 6585 adapter 7952R surfboard, I try to use DRAM as a FIFO memory to store my data and then returns data back to the host using a DMA.

    Loops of acquiring runs at 125 MHz (derived from the onbaord clock 40 MHz clock).

    Whatever the structure that I use I am faced with always the same problem: FIFO returns the status COMPLETE, but always free space in the FIFO.

    I have attached a code I did, if someone can look at and tell me what could be the problem...

    Interesting on the screws are "FPGA_ValidDRAM_xxxxxxxxx.vi".

    Thank you!

    Hello zyl7,

    Do you mean when you say "FIFO always returns FULL, but always free space in the FIFO" DRAM indicator is defined as true? or you have an error that occur every time that you run the application?

    In addition, it may be possible for the COMPLETE node show a REAL high (greater than 40 MHz) speeds, because his memory arbitration CLIP may need for some time before it performs all of the Scriptures.

    Have you checked the behaviour to 40 MHz or 100 MHz?

    Kind regards

  • The names of the photo on iPad app

    Is there any application or workaround or parameter that displays the name of a photo in the Photos of the iPad? IMSP nods a lot of time to name the pictures on Mac and then see them at all on my iPa.d.

    N °

    iOS has no file system structure and therefore does not recognize the names of the photos/images or can not put these naming in iOS data.

    You will need to rename your images, once again, in the iOS.

    There are applications that allows you to create images that you can create and name folders/subfolder and name duplicate images and pictures to reorganize, once again, within iOS.

    I use an app like this called HD Photo sorting.

    They are other similar applications in the iOS App Store.

    Find one of these image/photo hosting applications which will be better adapted to your needs.

    Good luck!

  • Graph: graph of WPF. Error Plots.Clear)

    Hello

    I need dynamically add patches to the chart. Code like this,

    ObservableCollection dataSource = new ObservableCollection ();

    Graph DataSource = dataSource;

    public void AddOnePlot (Point [] pointData)

    {

    Plot = new Plot();

    Graph Plots.Add (plot);

    dataSource.Add (pointData);

    }

    But when I call graph. Plots.Clear: the error is "beach action are not supported.". How to erase all the plots in the graph?

    Looking forward to your response. Thank you.

    The Plots collection on the Graph class derived from NotifyingCollection , which raises a single optimized global event when several items change. On the other hand raises the ObservableCollection .NET separate events for each item in the collection. Measurement Studio controls are supported on both models, but the WPF controls such as ItemsControl do not support aggregation events ("actions range" in the error message).

    However, there is a bug in the current version of the Legend control: If you bind the ItemsSource property to a collection rather than a chart, you may encounter this error if a default collection view is created. To avoid this, you can serialize events (as you demonstrated above, removing individual items instead of compensation), or you can use the NotifyCollectionChangedSimplifier to adapt the collection for the model "a separate event for each item:

    xmlns:ni="http://schemas.ni.com/controls/2009/xaml/presentation"

        xmlns:niPrimitives="http://schemas.ni.com/controls/2009/xaml/presentation/primitives"

    I have created a virtual Distributed Switch (vDS), 3 groups of ports vd and have added the first 2 VMHosts service VDS using PowerCli.

    My problem occurs when I try to add my vmnic host that need the VDS (10 GB NIC).  I get the following error:

    A code snippet is attached.  I appreciate any suggestions on what may cause this error.  You feel something in my environment.

    Thank you Luke, you gave me the idea and I was able to understand.

    In my script that I was connected to 2 my vCenter server and ESXi hosts and I never specified the vCenter server in cmdlets for a list of the network adapters.  So instead for expansion via vCenter cards, I received the ESXi host and this is why the Add-VDSwitchPhysicalNetworkAdapter complained.

  • DNS ROUTING GATEWAY SETTINGS?

    Hello.

    I have ESXi 6.0. 32 GB of ram, SSD, Intel 2 NIC
    One NETWORK adapter for WAN (DHCP static address of my ISP)
    A NETWORK LAN (192.186.0.1) card

    1 virtual machine running the service router, DHCP, DNS, NAT (192.168.0.1) Pfsense static
    1 virtual machine running Web/mail/shared folders (192.168.0.10) Dhcp (mac locked)
    ESXi got the static IP 192.168.0.49

    My Question is on the DNS configuration and routing in ESXi.

    During installation, the default IP for dns and gateway is set to 192.168.0.49, the ESXi host yourself.
    Is this correct?

    Should I configure dns for 8.8.8.8./8.8.4.4 OR 192.168.0.1 OR my ISP dns servers?

    Or Preferred dns 192.168.0.1 and replacement of 192.168.0.49

    Or Preferred dns 8.8.8.8 and replacement of 192.168.0.1

    And default gateway? 192.168.0.1 (on vm) OR 192.168.0.45 OR my ISP default gateway OR my ISP static ip?

    / Brian

    Looking at your Setup program.

    Let your ESXi host management IP address to be 192.168.0.49

    PREFFERED DNS: 192.168.0.1, DNS auxiliary: leave this field blank

    Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

    Now remember, you assign subnet IP, mask, DG, DNS etc to any physical NIC of your ESXi host, you set these parameters VMKernel adapter created in the operating system of ESXi. Your PFsense which is to have two interfaces, one pointing to the public network, where you have configured the ISP associated IP settings, while the other interface that points to the network internal who has private IP settings so ESXi vmkernel adapter must be configured according to private IP parameters.

    See if that helps.

  • VMware networking question

    Hi people out there. First time poster in the hope of getting some ideas. Here's some information and what I'm trying to accomplish.

    So I set up a VMware environment for me and a friend to me so that we can play with ESXi and virtual systems and configurations.

    My home system has 1.5 to storage and 32 GB of memory, so I decided to use my system to be the host.

    With the help of VMware Workstation 9, I created a virtual machine with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage to use for our game environment. I installed the ESXi host on this virtual machine (Yes a VM will be my virtual machine host).

    -J' have the host connected to VMware Network Adapter VMnet8 from my PC to give it a different IP subnet separate from my primary home network on 192.168.65.x

    -J' have a Terminal Server running Windows Server 2008 R2 as my first virtual machine with 2 network cards virtual

    -J' have a second vSwitch systems to connect to my home network primary 192.168.1.x. whose purpose is specifically to the server terminal server, so I can route RDP on the internet for the TS.

    -I don't want my virtual systems with access to the main network (beyond the Terminal Server computer) and I don't want ALL of the virtual machines to have internet access on a network.

    -My level of router, I have internet blocks from the host and IP address on the second card of the server terminal server. Then I'm OK.

    Here's my problem. Power of the internet on the TS works that until I got disabling the adapter connected to the 192.168.1.x. I can always get internet access through the 192.168.65.x of my main PC adapter. All my other virtual machines will be connected to the reseau.65 so they are not using my primary network traffic and I don't want them having access to my internet. I want to just beyond the server terminal server itself, being separated from my home network and that you have access to its own internal virtual reseau.65 and nothing outside of it. I know individually, I can specify an IP address and just put the default gateway to something like 0.0.0.0 and which effectively blocks this system to have internet, but I don't want to have to rely on set up this configuration or pressing the friend who will use to access this virtual network to do this in any new VM he created RDP. I want to do in the world in terms of network, if I can.

    Any thoughts are appreciated. If I failed to point out anything please let me know and I'll try to explain.

    Thank you!

    Welcome to the community,

    If I understand your requirement, all that you need to do is to open the virtual network Editor, create a new 'Host-Only' virtual network adapter (uncheck the box "connect an adapter to the virtual host in the network) and use this new host only instead of NAT network adapter.

  • vLAN is not projection in ESXi COP out

    That doesn't seem to work for the collection of information VLAN is to allow the development of statistics on the level of vmnic... This seems to show all tags VLAN on the trunk connected. As a test, I installed an ESXi 5.1U1 host, configured with a single NETWORK adapter connected to a trunk port where only one VLAN native could as well as a labeled (VLAN5). No other VLAN is allowed on the port of pSwitch...

    Then I activated the stats on the vmnic function... (statistics of vlan network nic put true-e - n vmnic0 esxcli)
