Port of the printer (LPT 3)

The device requires manual configuration.  Change hardware settings jumpers or running a vendor supplied tool and then use the tab "resources" in Device Manager to configure the device. I have a Lexmark x 4530 printer and a Dell computer running windows XP 32 bit and all of a sudden the printer does not work.  I found this message as an explanation of what I have to do, but I have no idea how do.  I said it must be done by someone with advanced knowledge, but no one I know has a lot of computer experience.  If I can get a line instructions, I hope that I can do.  I've been in contact with Lexmark and they said they could fix it for a minimum charge of at least $70, I told them that I could buy a new printer for that price.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problem after connecting via the USB port of the printer. Error 0x0000007a

Recently, I plugged my HP Deskjet2360 printer via the USB port on my HP laptop (running w7 Home premium 32-bit) and can not print at all. When I try to print a test page I get the following message ' operation could not be completed. Error 0x0000007a. Operation failed.

My usual Setup is to have my printer connected to my desktop (Windows XP Pro). My HP laptop is connected via a wireless connection to my home network, which is also connected to my desktop computer. Of course, this means that I have the office turned on to be able to print from my laptop.

Everything worked great until I decided I'd rather have my connected printer to directly to my laptop via USB.

When I connect the printer via the USB port on my laptop, windows installs the software and reported no problems. Yet when I try to print a test page, I get the mentioned error. When I then reconnect the printer to the desktop and try to print a test page to my network, I get exactly the same error message. The office and the printer still work fine, it's just that I can't print from my laptop.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on my laptop with the USB connection and the network, but it still does not work. The resolution of the problems on the laptop reported no problems, and the printer is set as default printer. I also get an another error msg when I click on the Preferences button in the printer properties: address of the 0x5aeba4f1 function caused a protection fault. (code 0xc0000005 exception) Some or all property pages cannot be displayed.

The only way I found to get around this is to use windows restore and restore my laptop before the point when I connected the printer via the usb port.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

This error 0x0000007A describes the data area passed to a system call is too small. ERROR_INSUFFICIENT_BUFFER
You can try to uninstall and reinstall printer driver and check if that helps.

    Here's how you can do:

    1. open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click programs, and then clicking programs and features.
    2. Select a program and then click on uninstall.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

After you have uninstalled the driver to restart the computer, this should install it the appropriate drivers for it. You can also try to download the latest driver from the manufacturers website and install it.

  • How to configure a printer LPT when adapted to use a USB Port - Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit

I have a computer that does not have an LPT port, and the printer that I want to use (EPSON Stylus Color 850) is not a USB Port or Ethernet.  I bought a cable USB2LPT and attempted to get the printer to work.

My problem seems to be the choice of the port to use.  Here are the steps I followed:

    1. pick "Add a printer" of the control panel. Printers
2 choose 'Add a local printer' (even if using the USB Port, like when I plugged the USB cable into the computer, I received the message installing driver recognition but not familiar "bong".)
3 selected "use an existing port.
4 select "USB001 (virtual printer to USB Port) - it was my best estimate of the long list provided."
5 choose the EPSON Stylus Color 850 ECP2/PCS.

The pilot was then installed without error and tried to print a test page which is that hangs without error.

I deleted the printer then tried to assign the LPT1 port.  No help here either.

If someone can help me with the installation, so I can get my documents to print I would appreciate it a lot.

    Thank you

    Dave

You do not have an LPT port.  When you select the LPT port data are always written him even if your computer does not have the hardware installed to make it work.  It would work if you have installed a parallel PCI Port card.

USB001 would be the first choice, then USB002...

The next step as Fouzan points out is to contact the supplier of cable or Epson for support of printer you.  Start by Epson.

You can try other cables, parallel PCI card or another printer. Alan Morris Windows printing team; Here Microsoft Knowledge Base search: http://support.microsoft.com/search/Default.aspx?adv=1

  • Using the second ethernet port to connect to the printer?

Hi I have a Mac Pro 2.1 old school and I'm wondering if I can connect to the network with an ethernet port and connect the latter to a printer?

    If so, how?

    Yosemite running.

    Thank you

Physically, you use a port and a cable to connect to your network and use the second port and a second cable to connect directly to the printer. The printer must obviously have an interface Ethernet himself.

However, you need to configure the second port on the Mac and the Ethernet port on the printer for each manually configured the TCP/IP addresses and these should be in a range of different network to your main network.

If you the main network is something like 192.168.1.1 then your printer and the port on the Mac connection to this need to be in another network, such as 192.168.11.1.

In theory, if the printer supports Hello aka. mDNS, then maybe you can get away with not having to configure TCP/IP addresses for the connection.

The main reasons to use a second separate connection as this would be the performance or security, and frankly I don't think that's really relevant here. This would mean that no other computers on your network will be able to access the printer.

  • Can I print by inserting a USB stick into the USB port of a printer?

    Hello

I'm trying to use someones printer to print my work (I can't connect intot his computer). The printer includes a scanner and a copier and has a USB port on the front. My friend uses a similar printer to print and seems to be able to print documents that she recorded in PDF format by simply putting in his pen USB into the USB port on the front of the printer, options come for her to choose which document it wants to print and off she goes.

When I put my USB, my USB content are not started, and I have therefore no options to print. The only option of PDF who came, had to print "USB Disk Pro User Manual". I pressed this option, and a manual began printing I cancelled. How is my friend to print when she inserts his USB pen, and I can't?

    Can anyone help with this?

    Thank you!

The USB port on the printer is made to connect to a computer, not a USB flash key.  At least not usually.  Want to check your owner's manual to find out.

  • the printer queue

Bought a new copy and the old does not work. Have documents in the print queue for the old printer that I need to print, but can't figure out how to transfer those to the print queue of the printer?

Ok. you gave all the info I requested. All we need to do is change the printer driver and port of the printer icon F4180 for the corresponding parameters of the C6380.

To do this, open the Printers folder. Right-click on the PS C6300 series printer icon, select "run as administrator '(if available) and then click on 'Properties'." Click the Ports tab and note the FULL NAME of the port currently highlighted and ticked. It would generally be USB002 in your case. Close the Properties window.

Now, open the Properties window for the series the same way F4100 printer, but now, click on the "Advanced" tab, you should see the driver in a drop-down list. Change DJ F4100 to PS C6300. no go to the Ports tab and change the port that you noted down earlier. Click apply, and it should start printing. If it isn't, then restart your laptop.

  • installation does not see the printer when I plug

I have a printer HP LaserJet, 1006 running on a Windows XP 32 - bit attached to a USB1 port system. I have no USB2 ports. The printer works fine, but the drivers are up to date. I downloaded the file (hp_LJ_P1005_P1505_Full_Solution_ROW.exe) and when I run it, and it gets to the point where it tells me to connect my printer, I plug in and turn on and nothing happens. Apparently the installer does not see when I turn on my printer. The problem would be that it is plugged into the port of USB1 and if so what do about it?

Sorry must have misread your first message.  Before trying to reinstall the software, make sure that the printer and the old software is uninstalled.  The installer can be easily confused by older facilities, in order to ensure that those who are cleaned before installing the latest orders.  Hope that helps.

  • How can I get my USB to the printer wirelessly to a network without a computer?

If you have a USB port to the wireless printer and no computer to use software to do this and do not want to use the WPS option (or it is not available), then the following method can help.

That doesn't get a key USB Wi - Fi, as the printer Deskjet 3512, on the wireless network when there is no computer available.  However, this can work from a computer as well if you prefer not to install the software.

For these steps, I'll use an iPad.

    1. the printer will broadcast a wireless network of its own.  This has usually HP Setup and model of the printer in the name of the network.  Connect a wireless device to the network.

    2. Once connected, open the browser.  In my case, it's Safari.

    3. Enter the 192.168.223.1 address in the address and press go to access the status of the printer page.

    4. once there, there will be several tabs at the top.  Select network.

    5. Select the wireless configuration wizard.

6 Select next at the bottom.

    7. it looks for available networks.  Select your network from the list and click Next.  The network should be highlighted, select it again if it's not.

    8. you will be asked the password.  Enter the password and click Next at the bottom.

    9. the printer should now be connected to the network.  It may take a few minutes to share.  Reconnect the computer or mobile device to your regular network and it should be good to go.

I know that there are some users who have only a Tablet and a USB port to the printer wireless with no other way to get it on a network.

I hope this information is useful to someone.

  • has obtained a new wireless network and I can not connect the printer to it.

I have a photosmart c4780 wireless.  Got a new Airport Express Wireless yesterday.  It is connected to my MacBook Pro without problem, but I can't get the printer to connect to it.

I have a MacBook Pro, OS v. 10.6.  My HP Photosmart C4780 worked perfectly on my old system wireless (Apple product).  Yesterday I bought a new wireless Airport Express and I can't get the printer to recognize the new system.  Where it shows the name of the printer in the system, the box below (called location) is empty.  I tried to put the name of my Airport in it, but no luck.  I know it just needs to be connected internally somehow, but can't find where the information goes.  I don't have a USB port.  The printer is connected to a modem, and the modem is connected to the radio (is this is what is called the router?) Airport Express - just like it was yesterday when he was working with my old wireless.
