  • Computer Toshiba laptop does not start after trying to install SP2 for vista 32 bit

Tried to install SP2 for vista updates, it stagnates at 12%, message saying a problem has been detected and windows has been closed to protect the computer. At the bottom of the error message screen, it reads, technical info-stop OXOOOOC1F5. Windows doesn't start at all now, has tried running safe mode, pilots seem to load, then it returns to the screen error message with the same problem said. Nothing seems to work, tried same recovery disk came with the computer, it says it is loading files, then it returns also to error message screen. Computer came with vista pre-installed, so I don't have this drive to try. Someone at - it solutions? Very frustrating, how do I search problem when the computer will not start at all? Help!

Follow the info below to try a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

If yours falls into the category above, download the ISO on the link provided and make a bootdisk of it.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

  • new laptop does not start with the boot CD or DVD disk

HP Pavilion laptop computer g6 brand new windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.  Updates Windows, updating the Bios and Telus security installed, otherwise the system is factory.

I'd like to partition the hard drive partitions with Partition Wizard on a boot disk, maximum because I don't need a 650 GB partition to do the maintenance on more I like to keep my data and other separate files of my operating system.

The DVD drive is set to boot first.  The DVD player works (made recovery discs, checked the content on the CD, etc.).

What happens when I try to boot using the CD or DVD - the DVD drive sounds like it is being accessed, then stops and I get a blue screen. This happens as well with the diskette in the partition Wizard and recovery disks.  Whenever I start even if the bios is set to boot from the first DVD I press the esc key and reset the DVD to start everything first.

I checked the disk the wizard partition on a desktop PC and it works fine.  I updated the bios after checking on the internet, as was the fix for this issue.  It don't did not help me.

It took me a while, but I thought about it.  The laptop and DVD player with Windows 7 can't read a bootable disc, made by another computer.  It won't even read a USB stick formatted by another computer (Windows XP).

    What a pain.

  • Laptop does not start with the display.

I have a song DV 9700 Windows Vista Home

Removed from the hard drive, it is readable and operating system appears intack.

Had the computer for 5 years, still in good condition. Any ideas would be useful.

    Thank you

Black screen means graph. Perhaps the external port or the card itself or the taking of the MoBo to the GPU, it might have a problem. It can also be the monitor! If you cannot even see the Startup logo and cannot access or the BIOS it may very well be the monitor that has a problem. Overall, since you said that you have 5 years now your warranty is probably outdated and you can easily go to the nearest tech IT to check the components of your laptop to see if one of them is broken. Anyway, if one of the components I listed above is broken I think you should just consider buying a new laptop rather than fix 5 years, a.

    Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you are facing problems with your Windows 7 computer. The question might be if there is a file system corruption. Then I suggest you to perform auto repair. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

    Method 2

Try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    3. Click repair your computer.

    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

  • Pavilion dv6: computer HP pavilion laptop does not start and I do not see the screen because it's broken

I have the HP pavilion computer laptop windows 7 and I broke the screen about a year, I can't see the start menus. I have been using an external monitor and it has always worked well, but now I can't see how to fix my computer to boot.  I did a hard boot but nothing happened, and with a broken screen, I can't see any of my options on how to fix it.  It does not start.  Looks like it is, but because I don't see the menu F8 or Boot, I can't call themselves that the screen can be done.  Help, please.

    Hello @SPKaler,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Forums Guide first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post on the issue with the laptop won't start does not and wanted to help you!  I understand that the screen is damaged and you are using the external monitor to view the screen.  However, now that the laptop does not start, you can see is more of the external screen to see what is happening.

From my understanding, you should not be able to see an image on the external monitor, until you start the operating system.  You can try to perform a system restore by using this document:

HP computers - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

You may be able to follow along, long enough until the image is displayed on the external monitor.  Otherwise, you can contact HP support by phone, for additional options.
