Configuration network LaserJet P1606dn

Hello world

I have a problem with establishing a new LaserJet P1606dn on our network. The installation software provided with the printer assumes the environment uses a DHCP server to obtain an initial IP address and then you can evaluate the printer through the web interface and change it. My problem, we do not have DHCP on our network and I need to set up an IP address on this printer. My question, is there any other utility that can be used to find the printer, and then set the printer with a static IP address.

Thank you in advanced for assistance.

Steven

Too bad. I found another way to access the printer. It seems to have assigned the printer an IP 169.254.x.x wherein I changed my desktop to the same subnet and then access the printers web interface to configure networking for the correct IP subnet.

I tried to do the textbooks, but as soon as I test the sheet it prints ever.

This means that it doesn't have a valid IP address.

You must determine the IP address range and others that match that uses your network and configure the printer to work in this range.

If you open a command prompt on your PC and then type in ipconfig/all you will get the information that you can then post it here and I can help you.

  • HP LaserJet P1606dn IP Configuration problem

I have a HP LaserJet P1606dn, brand new and fresh out of the box. I've already implemented to print via the USB port of a laptop to test, and now I'm trying to configure it for network printing. My challenge is that the default IP address (depending on the Configuration of the device to Test/Self page) is 0.0.0.0. Internet Explorer does not recognize as a valid address, and I can not change the settings on my computer (Windows XP, with a Broadcom 570 x Gigabit network card) to get on a 0.0.0 subnet. This means that I can't to the Web page on the built-in web server to change the IP address to something suitable for the network.

I can't ping 0.0.0.0 - I get an error of "Specified Destination is incorrect." I tried to connect to 0.0.0.0 both a switch connected to a desktop computer by a cable modem connected directly to my laptop computer Simulator, both without success. With the crossover cable, the network on the printer lights are green and orange (normal communication), but the lights on my laptop are dark orange (bad connection) and orange flashing (for communication). With the connection of the switch, the network on the laptop lights are green and orange and the Office can communicate with other devices on the network. There is no antivirus or other software installed on the laptop that would interfere with network connections.

Any guidance you can provide to connect to 0.0.0.0 via a web browser, or change the IP address of the printer completely, is appreciated.

There is no way to connect to this IP address. That intellectual property means that the printer is not simply connected to any network. You have the Ethernet cable connected to the printer? If it is connected, you have DHCP enabled in your router?

  • Printer HP LaserJet P1606dn Professional after firmware update

    Hello!

I upgraded my HP LaserJet P1606dn Professional today the latest version of the firmware 20110826, of 20101011.

Everything worked perfectly with the old firmware, but after the upgrade I can't print via network, although it works with USB printing.

I printed a page of device configuration, and everything is as it was with the old one, which happens to me from printing, except his status in the network information section, which is 'boot' instead of 'connected '.

I can't access the web interface via my browser by typing the IP address that is provided in the device configuration page (which is the same as the old, btw)... no idea?

I also tried printing as well as access to content the printer via the web from different computers on my network, one with Ubuntu, another with Windows XP, and both get the same problems.

    Thank you!

    Hello!

I finally solved it, the problem was the setting of DNS which has been reset when the upgrade of the firmware. I followed the following steps:

-Reset the configuration of the printer

-Connect to the web interface printer with the IP address the printer automatically sets to himself

    -Change all configuration, including DNS

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1606dn: Fatal error Laserjet p1606dn - hard reset does not help

I powered on my printer this morning and having to "calibrate" - type sounds for about two minutes, the Attention, ready, and go lights on (solid, no blinking). The printer prints everything I have send to it, even test pages. By following the instructions on this page, I did a hard reset by putting off the printer, unplug the power cable, leaving unplugged for about 60 seconds, then in him plugging back in and turning it back on. Same thing: makes noise for a minute or two, then three strong lights.

The printer is on a wired LAN, and I tried printing from two different computers on the network. I tried not to do a direct USB connection yet because this seems irrelevant to the question. The network (10.10.10.x) page shows the status of the printer such as "Printer Error".

FWIW, he showed the same error last week, but a hard reset fixed it on the first try. This time, it does not.

EDIT: If it helps, the date of the firmware is 20120814. I tried to update to 20150114 via the update utility, but he says that he can not find a serial p1600 printer is installed.

EDIT 2: the printer will not even turn on. Tried a few different outlets, power strip directly into the wall vs - nothing. I think he's dead. Based on my experience with HP printers, I'm not surprised.

Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you are having problems with turn your Laserjet P1606dn. I can help you with that.

To start, you will want to make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet , not a surge protector. Once's done it, this document will help you with your power problems.

If you are able to turn on the printer, then that's fine. If it doesn't always turn the printer will need to be repaired. You can contact HP by clicking on this link by clicking on the form below.

  • HP laserjet p1606dn professional prints same document over and over

    Hello

I have a problem printing to my hp laserjet p1606dn professional

My printer print the same document over and over again.

    I use a hp Workstation xw4600 with Windows 7 64-bit OS.

I upgraded the firmware and driver from the HP support site.

    #2 solution worked.

I deleted the printer on the network, demolished port allocation.  I then added the print device, use the locally available printer driver, do not use the current driver.  Tested ok.  Works fine now.

But it is good to know the two-way functionality. I will definitely keep in mind for the future.

  • I have a LaserJet P1606dn - all of a sudden, I can't use the automatic on both sides print - Please help!

I have a LaserJet P1606dn - all of a sudden, I can't use the automatic on both sides print - Please help!

    Hello

Make sure that the automatic duplex printing option is selected:

Enter the control panel > printers

Right click on the printer icon, and then click Properties (printer properties for Windows7).

    Click the Device Configuration tab.

Make sure that the option allow automatic duplex printing is checked.

If there is no change, try to uncheck the print manual duplex option below, then check any change.

The terms may be a little different because my OS is not in English.

The front part / duplex must be placed at the bottom left part of the device Configuration dialog box.

Please let me know of any changes,

    Shlomi

  • environment of server terminal server HP laserjet p1606dn

Is it possible to use a hp laserjet p1606dn in environment terminal server?

Page 10 of the Manual does not say explicitly that it supports environments Server terminal server (the note was the only reference I could find for server environments terminal server).  This leads me to believe that it is not guaranteed to work without causing performance or errors occur.

However, you could try posting in the business community.  Consumer forums is more for use domestic and I suspect most home users need to print in an environment terminal server.  They may be able to answer the question more easily or be able to recommend a printer that works in an environment terminal server.

  • Print duplex on HP LaserJet P1606dn

Why my HP LaserJet P1606dn provides only duplex printing for Web sites, but not for PDF or Word documents? The 'duplex' box shows that in the print menu when you print a Web site, but not when you print a PDF or Word document. (Why the print menus does not seek him still print a PDF/Word-doc vs site?)

Problem solved: If a Word or PDF document printing, we have chosen "Layout" in the "Copies & Pages" menu in the print menu, then double-sided printing. (When you print a web page, simply check the box for print double-sided, right next to the box where you choose the number of copies.)

  • LaserJet P1606dn: Win7: Over Ethernet: list of current control Codes (PCL 6?)

    Thank you.

I searched in vain a list of control (PCL 6?) for the LJ P1606dn codes so I can work codes, such as "Page Eject" in a database application I'm prototyping.

Many references PCL 5/5 on the Internet, but nothing related to the current culture of LaserJet printers.

    Appreciate any guidance.

    SafeSectors, Inc.

The LaserJet P1606dn printer is a device based on the host (see http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01995860 ).

This means that it does not include traditional Page Description languages (PDL, s) - PCL5, PCL6 (aka PCL XL) or PostScript - such as used on the more expensive models.

The host-based devices use owners (unpublished) languages that vary from a model and manufacturer.

I think that many of the models HP, the language is known as JetReady, which is (loosely) based on a variant of (very) stripped of PCL XL; most of the fomatting is done from the host work station (where the name), with all (text & images) converted to encapsulated, compressed image dithered. interpreter in the printer just unencapsulates and decompresses these images and prints the points resulting.

Note that even the printer supported standard PCL6 (PCL XL) PDL, it is extremely difficult (in most cases impossible) to inject anything (such as your "page eject") in the flow generated by the driver, due to the highly structured nature of the PDL.

  • LaserJet P1606dn pick roller...

The roller on my Laserjet p1606dn collection is a bit dirty and sometimes takes 2 "catches" the paper. The illustration in the guide of the user of this printer is quite different from that of the printer itself and is of no use because I have no basis for comparison. So, I can't release the roll so that I could clean it up.  The printer is still under warranty, I called HP tech and they were of no use, because he sought simply to the same user guide that I was... something releasing 2 white pills. I don't see any white label anywhere. There are 2 black tabs or something, but they are both firmly attached to the body somehow printer. Am I missing something here? I can never remember any of my other printers HP being this difficult.

Never mind... I fixed the problem myself. Thanks anyway
