Configuration of the keyboard

Hello Lenovo community,

After looking on google and on this forum and not being not able to find the answer, I decided to ask for your help.

Yesterday, I received my Lenovo Y510p and it works well, however, the configuration of the page layout is the Canadian multilingual, which is annoying, but I can live with that.

However, my question is how to configure it correctly? I tried all the configurations of Canadian keyboard and none seem to match. It could be something missing on windows 8 64-bit home, but I have no idea. Anyone can get noticed on the right track?

Thanks in advance and let me know if I need to post more information.

Thanks in advance,

I found the solution here:

  • AIR can control the behavior of the keyboard?

    Hello

The app is installed on an Android 2.2 tablet.  When we type the keyboard space, it will display a selection bar on top of the keys for the selection of ""!, @ _ ".

We can do this, go away?  Or is there a method to control the behavior of the keyboard?  We are programming using AIR2.5.

    Thanks in advance!

No you can't control the keyboard. You can restrict the entry with the textInput.restrict properties, but you cannot change the configuration of the keyboard. It might be possible in AIR 3.0 (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplatformruntimes/air3/)

  • Satellite L500 - 19 - how to properly configure the keyboard?

I bought a Satellite L500 - 19 c with Windows 7 64 bit and I am having trouble with the keyboard mapping for the correct use of the Portuguese language.

When I try to highlight a letter, for example by 'one', I get the side ' ~ ~ ' instead of the accent over the letter. I checked all the configurations of Windows and Toshiba SW and everything seems to go well tuned for Portuguese (Portugal).

Please help me how to fix.

    Hello

Normally, you can change the layout of the keyboard so go to control panel > keyboard. Here, you must add the keyboard layout you want and delete all other layouts you want.

After that, the keyboard should work fine.

  • Configure the keyboard backlight Timeout

Hello, I want to configure the keyboard backlight Timeout on Dell Latitude E6440. I use pre-installed Linux OS Ubuntu 12.04.2 Dell.

I found this post http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/f/4448/p/19415396/19975858.aspx#19975858 of Warren Byle.

He wrote how to change the keyboard backlight with tool CCTK lighting level. I downloaded CCTK for Red Hat Linux and looks like it works fine on Ubuntu too. With that - token orders that I am able to change the level of backlight on the keyboard which is good.

But I still don't know how to change the keyboard backlight Timeout. Backlight is still off after 10 seconds. Is there some special - token for this timeout setting?

According to other messages, looks like configring timeout to 5 minutes could be possible, as there are Windows applications that could do that (for example Dell System Manager Application checkpoint)

  • Keyboard not configured by the new virtual machine

    Hi Experts,

I am very new to VMWare stuffs. Recently, I've converted a physical machine (windows XP) machine virtual with VMware Converter v3.0.0 by using the Import of machine function and then configured using the configure machine button. I don't change any customization of the virtual computer. Now I have a VM (virtual machine workstation 5.x) of the PC. So I closed the physical computer and starting the virtual machine on a different computer using VMware Workstation v6.5.1. When you start the virtual machine appears "your guest operating system is Windows XP and you have one or more virtual SCSI peripheral isntalled in your virtual machine. Please be aware that XP does not support the BusLogic SCSI adapter that VMware workstation is currently using for virtual peripherals... Download the driver... ». I press OK to continue.

Now, VM, boots and to connect, I press altcltinsert but VM is not recognizing this command. Only the mouse running inside the virtual machine as I can drag the message autour window, but not any command of the keyboard. So, I am struck at the login page of the virtual computer window.

A tip for the login and the keypad?

    Thank you.

Stop VM, between in his option material vitual to version 4 (used in Workstation 6.x) and re-install VMTools.

  • How to configure the keyboard shortcuts App for submenu items?

    Hi-

I'm trying to define keyboard shortcuts for Pro Tools. I am facing a problem, however. I want to put a shortcut for the menu item

    View-> view-> Inserts A-E Edit window

in the keyboard preferences window, so I've created a shortcut to the App to «inserts A - E» The problem is that there are other elements of submenu in Pro Tools with the same name, for example

    View-> Mix window views-> Inserts A-E

    Track-> Bypass inserts-> Inserts A - E

and it is the latter who eventually be triggered by the shortcut. In fact the shortcut appears in the three places during the navigation in the menus; but it only triggers the item "bypass".

In the keyboard preferences pane, is it possible to specify which menu a submenu item resides in?

    I'm on El Capitan 10.11.2, ProTools 11.3.1.

    Thanks in advance

    ~ peter in istanbul

It is not possible that you are trying. Shortcuts can handle only a single menu command name. The command being the last point. Other menus of the parent are not considered.

  • Portege R111 - where is the 'END' button on the keyboard

    Hello

    I have a laptop Portege R111, model No. PPR11N-01KOK2.
In the bios, I changed. The changes are applied to the key 'end '. Without changes to the ESC.

This key 'End' I find it on the keyboard.

Can someone tell me where the key on the keyboard?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dag

This portable Portege is not known to me... He doesn't seem to be a European model for laptop so I did find many details on this unit... However, depends on the allocation of key keyboard keyboard language.
On the keyboard of my computer laptop first END is located between the LED and PGDN (page down) button buttons.

The other laptop supports another configuration of keyboard and the END key is placed between POS1 and PGUP buttons (previous page).

Also I recommend you to check out the user manual too.
Especially different keyboard layouts are described in operating manuals

  • L50-B-2FN satellite: select the keys on the keyboard does not

    Hello

I have a Satellite L50-B-2FN, bought just five months ago (February 2, 2016), and apart from a problem recurring with the lid doesn't close does not correctly, I now have a hardware problem: the keyboard stopped working fully, with most of the numbers keys does not respond as well as the letters R and Y.

I checked the keyboard configuration and drivers via Device Manager and the computer tells me that everything is working properly and updated, but this is clearly not the case. I tried Toshiba's own online recommendations: uninstall the keyboard (http://support.toshiba.com/support/t...TYPE=COMPUTERS) and a restoration of the system to the last automatic (http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/System-...10/ta-p/657989), but neither solves the problem.

What I understand online forums, like thi keyboard problems are a problem common _very_ Toshiba satellites, especially those running (or update of) Windows 10 (mine came with Windows already installed 10). He, however, seems to be a clear or coherent solution. Can anyone help? Apparently the warranty on this unit (serial number, part number) expired on December 1, 2015, so even if I only bought it from the store on 2 February 2016, he is not covered - otherwise I would request a replacement, especially since the problem with the lid doesn't close does not correctly too...

    Thanks in advance, Martyn

Hi - suddenly a similar probs with Tosh laptop Satellite... 2, w, s, and c keys do nothing. Upgrade to Windows 10 about six weeks ago... any ideas please? /

  • How to compose utf-8 characters from the keyboard (osx 10.11.4)?

    Hello

In any other non-named operating system, you can press ALT-E28099 enter a utf character.

I've seen instructions on how to do this in an earlier version of Mac OS x, but these instructions do not work.

They tell me in system preferences | Language and text-> then a way to select UTF, but this possibility is therefore more in the new language and region settings.

When I go to my little flag in the menu box above right, I am not shown UTF - 8 as a possibility.

    Help!

    Thank you!!!

OS X does not use utf - 8 for entry.  Normally, you would use the character Viewer (Edit > Emoji and symbols) for the input characters that are not already included in the layout of the keyboard via the option and option more shift.  It has an option to display all Unicode characters.

If you really want to enter special characters through numbers, you can go to the sources of the system/preferences/keyboard and activate the Unicode Hex keyboard configuration.  You can integrate any character by holding down the option key and typing sound 4-digit (or 8 digits for those outside the BMP) hexadecimal Unicode number.  e28099 is 2019 in hexadecimal.  It's the curly apostrophe which can also be made directly from the US keyboard via the shift option]

  • Some keys on the keyboard for Satellite A500-025 are strange

My Toshiba Satellite A500-025 has a keyboard with strange symbols on it. The back key on the right side of the keyboard is also a vertical rectangular key with 2 keys between the key containing the semicolon and the return key which is too far.

On other Toshiba keyboards I've seen in stores, the return key is a horizontal rectangular key with that one key between the semicolon and the return key. Anyone know why I have this strange configuration on my keyboard?

    Thank you

To be honest I don't know on which keys you mean exactly, but I think you should consult your dealer and ask what it can be.
If you want to discuss about it here please make the photo of your keyboard and mark them with red circle, what do you mean exactly.

I don't know what other Toshiba keyboards you mean but fact is that the Satellite A500 is Toshiba the first laptop with screen 16 delivered with larger keyboard, including the numeric keypad.

  • How to turn on the light of the keyboard and BT on Satellite A500D-10F

    Hello.

I would like to turn the backlight on my keyboard on my Toshiba Satellite A500D-10F.
But I can't find the button. I read in the manual and it said to use fn + z, but this combination has no effect on my keyboard.

Is there another way to turn on.

Also I can't get my bluetooth works, It allways get stuck during installation. Is there a device built-in bluetooth Toshiba Satellite A500D-10th?

    Bjorn H.

    Hello

You should know that not all A500D are equipped the same pieces of equipment.
    There are different hardware configurations
Then A500D-10th isn't compatible Bluetooth and so you can't activate the BT module.

I think that it s even with the keyboard if the keyboard contains no such sign then it would mean that the keyboard backlight is not supported.

I think you can find an information that this function is only supported by some laptop models in the user manual.
