Configure client tools OBIEE
HelloI installed the Version OBIEE/BEEP 11.1.1.7 on GNU / Linux and the client tools on Windows 7 now I want to configure the two, could someone help me out here?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Goud S.
The steps below to install the OBIEE 11 g on windows client and connect to RPD (the repository file) in online mode.
1. install the OBIEE Client tool Windows. Client software OBIEE 11 g is available here
2 set up an ODBC DSN for the Oracle BI Server on Windows using the steps here
or go to the control panel->-> Data Sources (ODBC)--> Add--> Oracle BI Server (N)-> finishing-> provide tools of administration server BI details when prompted (you will need to server_name BI & port to connect)
To find the name of the Server BI and Port, connect to http://server:7001 / em (Business Intelligence-> coreapplication-> Capacity Management-> Availability-> Value under column port against row in coreapplication_obis1 BI Servers
3. now open the repository in Mode online.
Mark as correct if it is useful.
Thank you

possible to install the client tools OBIEE and OBIEE server in the same machine
Hello
possible to install the client tools OBIEE and OBIEE server in the same machine.
Ex:
Last week I've updated Patch BP1 in my local system, in the process, we got the update also oracle Client tool
But in my Administration tool in the built-in tool automatically updated, we need to install the client tool in my system?
My doubt:
Please check this screenshot
http://ScrnSht.com/sskbjb
Please help me,
Thank youYou should not install client tools because they will be automatically installed w install the server. The 11g installation guide says "do not install client tools on the same computers that host your server instances Oracle Business Intelligence, client tools are already installed on these computers (as part of the installation of Oracle Business Intelligence)."

I have tools customer Oracle BI (11.1.1.7) installed locally (Win7 - 64-bit).
I am able to access all the web interfaces (OBIEE, EM, Weblogic) using the username/password weblogic.
When I try to log in the administration tool or Catalog Manager, I get errors.
i.e.
Admin tool = "the connection failed".
Catalog Manager = "unable to connect to the presentation server.
I have 3 servers that are running different instances of BI. I am able to access 2 of them, but can not access the third.
I tried to copy the repository of a body of work and by deploying the instance of non-working. Same question.
I tried adding a new admin user and connect with this user. Same question.
Any thoughts on what could be the problem?
Thank you
Raymond
Can you please try to avoid double counting in the future? Can't access BI client tools
Or you end up like now where you do not keep the two aligned son makes it useless...

Install client tools Oracle 12 c crashing during
I have about 200 users running the client tools of Oracle 12 c on their workstations. A user tried to install the tools on his machine, but Setup still hangs. We were unable to find a solution. Java has been removed and reinstalled several times, the installation was run as an administrator, and we tried to install it under different user accounts. I apologize for the incoming wall of text, but it is not an attach option or the spoiler.

I found the problem, but it was not referenced in any of the newspapers. There was an instance of Oracle 11 g 64 bit already installed on the machine and 32-bit 12 c has been seen none of that.
I've renamed the registry HKLM\Software\Oracle key, installed 32-bit 12 c, then changed the name of key return. No problems during installation or post-installation tests.

Oracle BI developer Client tools without Tnsnames.ora
Hello gurus,
In my local computer of the user, I installed Oracle BI developer Client Tools version 11.1.1.6
It allows us to open a repository online/offline without installing OBIEE and Oracle database in our user, just put in ODBC connection.
But the problem is when the user want to try to create the new repository, it seems that "the connection failed".
There we have to copy some tnsnames.ora? In our local computer of the user, there is no tnsnames.ora since it does not install OBIEE/Oracle database on the local computer.
Help, please
Thanks in advance
See you soon,.
JOEHey Joe,
If you import data from an oracle database. You must install the Oracle database client. Then only, you can import data from Oracle database.
In addition, you are supposed to copy file ora, TNSNAMES. -
Dell printer configuration web tool
I have 2 Dell 3000cn printers in the network connected as network printers.
I am only able to connect to a printer "printer configuration web tool" using the appropriate IP address.
The other printer, I get a response "unable to connect". I tried to connect with Explorer & firefox using windows XP pro, Vista and Linux mint as OS
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Hi Tim,.
Thank you for the update. I would still lean towards the failure of the NETWORK card, as seems to be problems with that specific Protocol. You can try to Flash the firmware to see if that helps at all.
Kind regards

Hello
I installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 64-bit on my Win7 PC client. At the opening of the administration tool, I get an error
[nQsError:47077] File NQSConfig.ini was not found. Make sure that your environment is configured correctly.
I then put the path variable and variables Oracle_home and Oracle_Instance env with the correct paths, but the error remains.
Please let me know a work around for this.
Thank you.
Jeby
See the NQSConfig.ini file in the path of the Oracle Instance and see if the file exists and is configured correctly.
Please chck the link below and remove the # as necessary in the configuration file.
You can very well the file in the path ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obisn.

WEP to WPA migration / easy deployment to wireless clients tools
Hello
I would like to learn all the tools that I could use for the deployment of wireless to wireless clients settings in our local network. I came across some links in Microsoft using Group by AD (GPO) policy, but GPO seems more than one deployment of operating system or applications, have not seen anything that the wireless.
You know all the tools, Cisco wireless, or even MS GPO management clients if this can be done with easy deployment of WEP to WPA change.
The tool should deployment SSID, WPA pre-shared key.
Concerning
Hello
MS group policy will do, no problem.
If you create a new policy for your ad group (or use your default GP) and go to properties-> the Computer Configuration-> Windows settings-> security settings-> wireless-> Create New strategies-> follow all the next, next, next steps and then add the details of your WLAN.
If you use a separate policy to the default policy, make sure that the policy options you check otherwise default group policy will stop the new parameters being the subject of a push to your ORGANIZATIONAL unit. The next time that the machine joins the domain, the settings will be drawn down and can connect to the WLAN.
If you use a MS domain is the best way to do it (both with the help of your customer WZC) and no third party tools i.e. Intel etc.
I hope this helps.
See you soon

Imaging of HP Thin client tool
Hello
My apologies if this is a repost and has been processed before
t5740 trying to install "Thin clients microsoft windows embedded standard image", specifically a version with an older version of the agent HPDM, however same issue on all versions.
currently have windows embedded standard 2009 5.1.2600
in other words, unable to use the 'thin client HP imaging tool.
the 'usb format' or 'deployment' options work.
When booting from newly created usb key, received the "error loading operating system" on the light client device.
am I missing something really really obvious!
the USB is fine - is it specific to a file that could be a problem, I wonder?
...
Thanks for any idea!
got Ahold of the image of the HP website...
However, nothing wrong with the image - curiously was to do with the bios not recognize a 64 GB usb key!
an old 2 GB key worked well.
keep these old 1 & 2 GB handy glue!
Bravo nevertheless!

So I would try to set this up via the command-line, however, I can't find any doc about all this that I find are for routers, ASA and PIX. Have a walk through this set up via the command line?
Thank you
Dan
Configuration of the VPN Client on UC500 is the same as the router. You can use the example of the configuration of routers.

How can I configure the tool move the tool by default when you open photoshop cc?
Since I upgraded to CC PS I get the marquee as the tool tool by default when you open Photoshop. It is always used to be the move tool by default when you opened the first Psalm
How can I reset this back to be the move tool and not the marquee tool? Thank you!
How to set up the "move" tool for starting a Photoshop tool?
You will see a script that you can configure for it.

Configure client connections view
my environment is essentially connected LAN Wyse P20 customer zero. When you configure the client connections to see that I am currently using the default 'secure connection tunnel.
should I consider that instead use "direct connect"?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers.
I don't think it's that much more administrative overhead. You can change the direct connection and since the LAN environment based so there would probably changes to firewall is necessary. In anyway, if I'm not mistaken the P20 would directly connect anyway when using PCOIP.
