Configure client connections view

my environment is essentially connected LAN Wyse P20 customer zero.  When you configure the client connections to see that I am currently using the default 'secure connection tunnel.

should I consider that instead use "direct connect"?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers.

I don't think it's that much more administrative overhead.  You can change the direct connection and since the LAN environment based so there would probably changes to firewall is necessary.  In anyway, if I'm not mistaken the P20 would directly connect anyway when using PCOIP.

  • ICMP traffic view Client to view connection server & desktop

I noticed that when users log in view that there is a lot of ICMP traffic from the Client host view to view connection Desktop server & VDI.  I have ICMP blocked for from external users so I see a lot of these attempts in my logs to deny.  I checked the VMware documentation and can't find anything to talk to allow ICMP.

So I guess I wonder why the client view is trying to do, and what is the purpose?  I'm hurt anything by blocking ICMP traffic?

    Hi nzorn,

    This is the expected behavior.

The reason is during an active session of view's PCoIP traceroute for their peer endpoints and record results in their respective newspapers. This information is necessary to PCoIP troubleshooting purposes eg determine the number of jumps and the latency of the ICMP.

  • white screen when connecting using the client to view

    Hello

I have a situation on my hands if I try to connect to my office using the client to view I can connect but when I click to start all I get is a black sceren.  If I can access the external url of my security server, I can connect and my desktop appears.  If anyone has experienced this? any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You can connect from a WAN using PCoIP if you use a VPN. If you are

using the server security, for now, you will need to use RDP.

So far so good. We have created a dynamic office and were able to deploy desktop computers. We use an ad group to allow users to this pool.

To access desktop computers in this pool via the web portal is no problem, but when the same user attempts to use the Client to view we get a message that authentication has failed. In the View Manager events, I got these messages:

    1 (SESSION: E2C6C98C7A5AB8A624450E4B70DB9A78; 8 D) XXXX\YYYYYYYY: 18B0AC59A9A16F3F0158209FC1CC26) the user USER; USERSID:S - 1-5-21-nnnnnnnnnnnnn; USERDN:CN=S-1-5-21-484522859-389107532-2199480311-219035,CN=ForeignSecurityPrincipals,DC=VDI,DC=VMware,DC=int; has disconnected from VDM

The strange thing is, I left all this next door for a few minutes and tried to connect via Client discovered again later. This time, it worked, but at the opening of the session of office (office of screen already appeard) closes the windows desktop without any message. After you start the Client view again, the authentication will fail again.

Time is synchronized in all entities.

    Any ideas, tips, solutions?

  • Fault of DNS round robin to 2 connection view servers

Help! We have recently improved view to 4.6 and have now 2 view connection servers (viewconnect2.wheatonma.edu and viewconnect3.wheatonma.edu) set up with DNS round robin. We have customers to enter the name "viewconnect.wheatonma.edu" and there are 2 records to change the name in DNS to what he (to the IP address of viewconnect2, the other to the IP address of viewconnect3). We found only intermittently when a View Client tries to connect they will get the following error

"View server connection authentication failed. Initialization failed when connecting to the server ""https://viewconnect.wheatonma.edu:443' " "

Because now we have just removed one of the mentions A name so viewconnect.wheatonma.edu just points to the IP address of viewconnect3.wheatonma.edu and everything seems to work well.

I have the SSL from GeoTrust certificate issued for viewconnect.wheatonma.edu correctly installed on both servers, so I don't think that is the question.

In View manager when I check the settings for each server under "Display Configuration"-> "Servers" here is what I got when I edit entry of each server.

    Viewconnect2 settings

    No Tags set

    Secure tunnel HTTP (S)

    External URL: https://viewconnect.wheatonma.edu:443

Use Secure Tunnel desktop connection is checked

    PCoIP Secure Gateway

    PCoIP External URL: 155.47.24.11:4172

Use Secure Gateway of PCoIP PCoIP connections to desktop is unchecked

    Viewconnect3 settings

    No Tags set

    Secure tunnel HTTP (S)

    External URL: https://viewconnect.wheatonma.edu:443

Use Secure Tunnel desktop connection is checked

    PCoIP Secure Gateway

    PCoIP External URL: 155.47.24.12:4172

Use Secure Gateway of PCoIP PCoIP connections to desktop is unchecked

Am I missing something? Is DNS round robin is not supported for the connection view servers? The firewall is disabled on the connection view servers

    Thank you

The problem is that your "External URL" settings are wrong.

These must represent URLS that get directly on the specific login server and cannot be load-balanced or go through a round robin DNS entry.

    Set the external URL:

    Viewconnect2 https://Viewconnect2:443 or https://155.47.24.11:443

    Viewconnect3 https://Viewconnect3:443 or https://155.47.24.12:443

This way your connection secure tunnel will go to the same server connection as was chosen by repeating alternating DNS or load balancing.

Your users always enter https://Viewconnect:443 the view of customers.

There is an example here http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-14974

    Select this option.

  • ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection

    Hello

I'm getting "ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection" error trying to connect to the "PDB". Here are the details of my env and I do:

    Windows 7

My PC to install Oracle 11 g 2 Client (that's how I got this PC). And I already 11 GR 2 installed Oracle software and a local database that is named "ORCL" (whichdesignates currently the stop).

Yesterday, I installed Oracle 12 c (12.1.0) and created ORCL12C (CBD) and a PDBORCL (PDB). I connected to the PDBORCL as SYS and created user 'SCOTT '.

I am able to connect to ORCL12C (PEH) without any problem (SQL * more and TOAD). I can go to PDBORCL (alter session set container = pdborcl) without problem. But I get the error above (ora-12518 am) when I try to connect to the user 'SCOTT' created in 'PDBORCL' using SQL * more or TOAD. I want to connect to the user SCOTT and create objects in schema SCOTT, etc.. I get the same error, even if I try to connect to the PDB as user SYS (alter session command works fine).

I am new to 12 C. So it is quite possible that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.

I think you are the problem of configuring the following listener results:

    1. (SID_DESC =
    2. (GLOBAL_DBNAME = PDBORCL)
    3. (SID_NAME = PDBORCL)
    4. (ORACLE_HOME = u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1)
    5. )
    6. )

    >

as you can see, you have defined an entry static listener for SID PDBORCL. If I read your message correctly, you are CDB Instance SID is ORCL12C and you're PDB is PDBORCL.

So, in my opinion, as part of the configuration is the problem. PDB is saved as a dynamic Service to the Instance that you added

an entry static listener for a non-existent Instance. And so you're static listener overlaying the APB Service dynamic PDBORCL configuration.

and that is why it does not work.

Look at the output of a registerd APB to a listener success:

    lsnrctl status

    ...

    Summary of services...

    Service '+ ASM' a 1 instance (s).

Instance '+ ASM' READY State, has 1 operation for this service...

    Service 'ORCL12C' has 2 occurrences.

Instance of 'ORCL12C', status UNKNOWN, has 1 operation for this service...

'ORCL12C' instance, State LOAN, has 1 operation for this service...

Service 'PDBORCL' has 1 instance (s).

'ORCL12C' instance, State LOAN, has 1 operation for this service...

    The command completed successfully

    Hello, Prashant-

It depends on your version of vSphere.  By the maximum of Configuration docs, the maximum rates are:

    vSphere 4.0 with 32-bit vCenter server: 15

    vSphere 4.0 with 64-bit vCenter server: 30

    vSphere 4.1 (vCenter works on 64 - bit): 100

So you have on this machine
-Oracle 10 g client (only) and in another ORACLE_HOME
    -Oracle 11g RDBMS

First of all, the 10g client connects fine to the database 11g

Second, the 11g database includes the base client software, but odbc drivers are not installed by default. You must run YES choose "custom" installation, then select "windows components" in the list of available components.

I never wanted to install the odbc driver as part of the installation of the database . Only on the remote client installations.

What are you really will it achieve?
