Connect mercury 3500 to NI 9401

Hello

I'm trying to connect mercury 3500 encoder to NI 9401. The pinouts are confused and any help is appreciated.  Here's what I think should work, but I'm not sure.

Encoder AXIS AXIS OR 9401

4                       1

5                      14

9                      16

10                      3

14                     17

15                      4

ExcelX salvation,

Currently, the connections of the two instruments together is performed as indicated in the attached connection_diagram.png

I'm not too familiar with 3500 of mercury but think you have to connect pin 9 (mercury 3500) to pin 3 (OR 9401) and 10 (mercury 3500) PIN to pin 16 (OR 9401) to ensure that all of your negative terminals are connected to the Terminal on 9401 com also need ensure that the two instruments share a common ground then you must also over the pin 1 or PIN 13 on mercury 3500 on the NI 9401 ground.

  • Connections of encoder with cDAQ 9401

I hope that some of the experts here can help me with this as I am new to encoders. I want to make sure I connect this right but am finding conflicting information on this subject. I found this tutorialwhich shed some light on some things for me.  If I interpret it correctly, 9401 card that I use (with 9172 chassis) can provide 5 VDC needed excitement for the encoder on any unused line. However, I have seen a response to an applications engineer OR which suggests an external power supply is necessary to this thread.

So my first question is if I need an external power supply.

Secondly, I have an encoder with 8 sons and am a bit uncertain to know if I need to connect each of them for my angular position measurement, I don't see any reference to A', B ', Z' in the documentation I found. Here is the datasheet for the encoder I use, in line driver configuration (I think it's x 2).

I have also attached a picture of the stitching and the configuration of the meter for this encoder for someone who won't get the full data sheet.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help!

    Hi Johnny,.

In this case, as we have said before, this module won't be able to excite your encoder properly using digital lines. It will not be able to provide the full 5V on a given channel output. Also, since the input for your encoder voltage is 4.75V minimum, you will need an external power supply. Who will provide the adequate power to drive this encoder. As long as you can excite the encoder properly, this module should be good to read the signals and interpret them for angular position measurement.

  • Capture of frequency with the NI 9401 in cDAQ-9172

    Hi all

I searched through all the examples and find the same results than my own code in Labview. So, I go back to my hardware to solve my problem. I use a digital tachometer that displays pulse with 2 wires (hot and ground). I connected these to the NI 9401 for 16 PINS for PFI 1 and PIN 3 on the ground. When I open the module through MAX, he reads the perfectly when hi and lo as well as count properly if it is placed in the location 5 or 6.

However, I try to use the frequency max task and the task fails to capture anything in the table. I get a time-out error, even if my tach is read correctly. I have attached my settings of the task. Thanks for any help

Your samples to read is set to 100.  If all the samples of 100 are not available before the timeout is reached, you will get a time-out error.  What is the frequency of the input signal?  Maybe just try to read 1 sample on request first.

Hi lestat2204, based on readings, there are only a few printer models that have been tested to work with the X 3500. You can check it from this link http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=924b2530e16c41f08e474610011092c2_List_of_tested_US...

  • Aironet 3500: Spectrum Expert Mode of connection

How can I connect to a 3500 to see the analysis of the spectrum? The manual says to download version 4.0 of the software Cisco Spectrum Expert, but the latest version is 3.3.52. What Miss me?

I want to make the most of these new APs!

    Thank you

    Andrew

It is still Beta code.  Not only do you have the Beta code, but a key

as well.  Once you have installed, you connect to your controller and

change the mode of your AP - SE connect and reboot the AP.

Then you go to the AP, copy another "key" in the AP and also

collect the IP address if the DHCP.

You paste the key into your Spectrum Expert running on your

laptop, as well as the IP address of the AP.

Then, you can remotely see your spectrum.

I've done this before, because I tested a 3500 for a few weeks before

    refer to Cisco.

I am impressed... It is definitely an interesting option.

  • What I can (and if so, how could I) connect two encoders (a linear and angular) for the same chassis (NI 9401) and get their respective MAX OR tasks as simultaneously as possible?

Sorry, but I'm still pretty new to LabVIEW and NI MAX I plugged the two devices (a linear probe and an angular encoder) for my NI 9401 chassis. I figured out how to create tasks for each and continuous readings of samples of each. Trying to run both in LabVIEW, I get the error message saying that I can't run several tasks at once. He suggests the control task VI, but I did not see any help. Any advice?

Here is some general information, whatever it's worth: two encoders work the same clock source, PFI4, which, to my knowledge, is the CTR 1 A, where the the angular encoder signal is wired in. Physical channel linear is ctr0 and the angular is ctr1.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review this issue and help me out!

  • How to automate the SSH connection/commands on a series of switches PowerConnect 3400 3500 and 6200 series.

I'm trying to find a way to automate the commands to send a series of switches (about 20) showing some configs and save the output to a file. The way I was trying to do was using plink and creation of a batch of files for her.

Essentially, it would be something similar to the following.

    ECHO

    for /f % in (devices.txt) plink % l word of PAST of USERNAME-pw-v - m C:\Batch\commands.txt > output.txt

To split the above command, looking for my ips in the devices.txt and made a "plink pw - username PASSWORD - v IP-l m - COMMANDS > OUTPUT" for each. The problem, I'm running is that the switches do not accept logins, they constantly ask for the user and the password again. Even when you try to put them in the commands.txt he will not accept the entry. I googled using plink with dell switches but there is nothing to talk about this problem.

So my question is, is it possible to automate this sort of thing in a batch file? Or some way to automate a series of commands to a switch via SSH? I'm just not wan't do manually connect to each of them, carry out my orders, out, reconnect and repeat. I did it on cisco switches so I thought the process would be similar but I don't understand what obstacle I'm running in here. Ideally, I'd like to see how to do this via SSH but at this point, I am ready to accept almost any alternative (secure) to automate the sending of orders for my switches.

I hope that all makes sense.

Sorry, I haven't used before plink, so I'm not sure what to change to get this to work. In the past, there was another Member of the community who has been able to use expect to establish connections to switches and save configs.

    Linux.Die.net/.../expect

It may be somewhat more than installation, but you can be able to make it work for your needs.

  • PP CC blocks - perhaps in connection with Mercury Playback and AMD / HD6950

I had a lot of instability with my set-up.

    i73770K - 32 GB of RAM - HD6950 2 GB - Windows 8

Computer has been and is very stable in all but the first Pro CC.

I have clean re-installed Windows 8 and Adobe CC.

I'm going to regularize with beta drivers 13.4 and 13.6.

I think it's directly related to mercury reading because when I disable GPU acceleration and will software only, it does not crushed, but even on this pretty good system, it will not play well and it is a bit slow hogging all my CPU unless I use a lot of deception low display resolution.

I have projects that threat, so I need to get to where I can change something soon.

I suppose that here are my options:

$1 $$ buy a more recent video as a HD7950 card. Maybe a new card would help? Or maybe the AMD drivers are a few sketches or support open CL is simply too new?

    2. $$$ buy a Nvidia card. Is there evidence that the Nvidia support is more stable and more mature?

    3. change on my MacBook Pro with HD6750M. It will simply not be as smooth and quick that my office with portable fans will turn off and all that. I prefer to use my beasty office.

    4. $$$ bail and just go FCPX on my Macbook Pro. It seems ridiculous because I am paid upwards to the CC workflow.

I'd go with 2.  Reported problems with the latest nVidia 320 driver, but using an older driver 314 it works petty darn good.

  • Device USB 3.0, USB 2.0 connection ports of iMac

USB 3.0 device not recognized: my iMac a 2011, 4 USB 2.0 ports.  I bought an external WD My Passport for iMac USB 3.0 external hard drive.  It is not recognized by the iMac.  The device works of WD - I plugged on new MacBook Pro from a friend and it worked in the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports and on a newish iMac (I forgot to check the vintage).  How do I obtain backward compatibility so I can connect the WD USB 3.0 device to the iMac, USB 2.0 port?

Data: operating system is current at El Cap 10.11.6. iMac (21.5 ", mid-2011) I've updated the installer of DW disk utilities, but that did not help.

The device has been formatted as Mac OX extended (journaled) using disk utility. If not then of course it will not work, most drives come preformatted for need to be reformatted to work with your Mac and Windows boxes. BTW, have you considered buying a top quality case such as a Mercury Elite Pro (www.macsales.com), WD case aren't the highest quality and tend to have a high failure rate.
