    Take a look in the folder c:\windows\system32\drivers for this file (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive):

    Tcpip.sys

    If the file is missing, you must replace it.

    We know that XP likes to keep the backup copies of critical system files in this folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

    Look there for a backup copy of the file tcpip.sys and paste in the c:\windows\system32\drivers folder where it belongs.

    If you do not see a copy in the dllcache folder, search for a copy here:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

    If you do not see here, you can download it from my SkyDrive and network disks exceeds the system afflicted on a USB or floppy drive.

    I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

    You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

    Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

    When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

    When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

    You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called tcpip when the name of the file should really be called tcpip.sys (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

    You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

  • Cannot connect Windows XP to the wireless printer.

    WINDOWS XP PRINTER WI - FI CONNECTION

    I have Windows XP Media Center Service Pack 3 OS that worked a HP Photosmart Plus B209 a - m with a USB cable.  Since I just bought a new laptop (Windows 7 Professonal OS) I decided to create a home network with a router Cradlepoint MBR 900.  The two laptops (XP and 7 OSs) were connected to the internet via the router with no problems.  Windows 7 Pro OS laptop is connected wireless to the printer Photosmart Plus, I had implemented as confiquiration wireless the printer first.  But the failure of the attempt to get the OS Windows XP Media Center to connect to the wireless printer.  During the installation process to connect the printer to the XP system wireless it asked me to choose which printer I wanted to connect to.  The Photosmart Plus printer was selected and visible, then I clicked Next.  Shortly after, a small screen appeared stating the "serscan.sys" file could not be found and I have to insert a Windows XP Pro CD to get the file or run the installer of this file.  This issue has occurred both when I tried to install it with the CD provided by HP and when I tried installing the HP download website.  All I have is a recovery for Windows XP disk provided with the laptop and not a CD Windows XP Pro.  What should I do to fix this?  Thanks, Lonnie

    Thanks, that was fast.  Please, let me make sure I have this correct.  First of all, I have two recovery disks provided with the computer, with Windows XP Media Edition and one for the drivers.  I should not use either of these disks, right?  If I had the previous correct answer then let me ask the following question;  When looking to borrow the disc should be Windows XP Media Edition or can I borrow any disk of Windows XP?  Kim Merci for your help continues.  Lonnie

    Lonnie,

    Before the hunting around for friends who might have a CD, do the following research.  For each of them, make sure that you have checked the search options in the 'Advanced Options' to

    • Search system folders
    • Search for files and hidden folders
    • Search subfolders

    Search your entire hard drive and both CDs you have to serscan.  Do not include the .sys at the end of the file name.

    Search for Driver.cab.  Report of the Office (s).  On your hard disk, you should find one or both

    • C:\Windows\i386\Driver.cab
    • C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab

    You can also find these files on the "recovery disk".

    Report what you find, including locations of found nothing.  It is possible (but I don't think likely) you will find a file named serscan.sy_ - If Yes, include this information in your results.

    Or, if you want to ignore all this, you can download serscan.sys since my SkyDrive-->

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?CID=18b259158254905b&RESID=18B259158254905B! 225 & Thierry = 18B259158254905B! 214

    The file should go to C:\Windows\system32\dllcache (a hidden directory) and probably in C:\Windows\system32 (I do not use this file, if it is not in my system32 folder).

    Or you can just save it to your desktop and "direct the Setup" it there (if you do this, check more later to confirm that he got into C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and if not, put a copy).

  • Problems connecting to internet - says network cable disconnected, not sure I have the correct driver installed.

    Had a big storm - got the new modem.  but they said that my drivers where missing or damaged.  Downloaded Marvell Yukon of gateway - to the GT5432 model. Always says cable unplugged network. However, Bishop says peripheral device works correctly. Don't save: no update-unable to connect to the internet.  I uninstalled and reinstalled; rebboted, etc. - still nothing. It has a problem with the PCI connection - no driver, but I don't see anywhere to down load or know what to download. Oh and another adapter on - think 1394 - when I turn that on and off the wonder; It shows the signal for the 1394---400 and does not say his unplugged, but still can not connect to internet.
    The "old" computer to try to find information; noticed that said, unplugged network cable but it allowed me to connect to the internet. When I disabled the 'extra' adapter message there went, speed signal only at 100 than at the 'old' calculation is not any other PCI devices connection listed.

    I'm not sure of what continues.

    The 1st computer was working fine - then picked it up to move it to where it belonged to my office and that's when he went out-made no sense to me!

    Because you seem comfortable opening your computer, have you tried re - a corner of the map (with power off, remove the card and reinsert it into the slot, be sure to exercise static precautions if you are in an environment of low-hu7midity).  If there is an empty slot, you can also move the map Marvell to another location.  See the comments below.

    It's a long shot, because even if you did not provide the complete ipconfig output, the data that you have provided appeared to be normal, but...

    Open network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK)
    Right-click on the icon for your network adapter, and then select Properties
    You should see a screen like this--> http://screenshots.modemhelp.net/screenshots/Windows_XP/Network_Connections/Local_Area_Connection/Properties/General/Index.shtml
    Issues related to the:
    In the upper area, under 'Connect using' said 'Marvell Yukon 88E8039 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller?  If this is not the case, what does say?

    In the second box, what are the items are listed under "this connection uses the following items"?

    The only other thing I can think is that the Marvell Ethernet card was damaged in the same storm that got your original modem/router.

    *******************************************

    According to Gateway, the GT5432 has 4 card slots:
    A PCI Express x 16 (GUI)
    A PCI Express x 1
    Two PCI Conventional

    Your motherboard should look like this:

    Orange, top, connector is the PCI Express x 16.  You probably have a video card in this slot.

    The short white connector is the PCI Express x 1 connector.

    Two more long white connectors are the standard PCI slots.

    If I understand your installation, you should have the Marvell Yukon map into the slots of two down and your Agere modem on the other.  As long as you have the SMC1244TX PCI card, why don't just remove you the Agere modem or the card Marvell and insert the card CMS in one of the two PCI slots?  You are not using the modem and the working hypothesis is that the Marvell card does not work, so there is not much to gain by leaving a card in your computer.

    Download the user guide and drivers for the SMC here--> http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=viewProduct&localeCode=EN_TUR&cid=9&scid=51&pid=238 map

    Moreover, assuming that your open slot is the short PCI Express x 1 slot, you can buy another Ethernet card that will work in this niche: see--> http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100010064%20600016290&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=100

    If I were you, I blow up the cheaper models and get the Intel EXPI9301CT $ 36 10 / 100 / 1000 Mbps PCI Express Desktop Adapter Gigabit CT.  Note that this is the same card with a similar name (with close to 400 customers) which sells for $29,94.  The price difference is because the cheaper "BLK" letters in the description, which means that it is "sold in bulk" and has no drivers, user guide CD or anything else in the box.  There are several negative comments from people who do not understand this difference and then had trouble finding the driver for the card on the Internet.

  • PC Cleaner, Ouch! Can't connect after I use it? I'll have to use another computer. Can't access mine?

    Good yesterday, I decided to come here to try to find out why I kept getting "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." Does this every time I tried to access my computer the files/folders. (downloads, program files, etc...). Well, saw some success messages on PC cleaner and how he solved this problem and others. So I downloaded and executed. Once he was done, I clicked on the option "Fix All". Has done his thing, and then I restarted my computer. Well when I get to the Log-In and click on my user icon, it says connection... and returns immediately (as fast as a breath), once told your settings, the exclusion by the vote? I have not been able to log on since. Help. This happened directly after PC Cleaner has done what ever he did (after restart). Connect to my computer makes me nowhere.

    I can access BIOS but nothing to change there.
    I do not use the password option in the configuration, so it isn't that. Safe mode has no effect. Still can not connect. «Your parameter of loading '... then once 'your settings' "Logging Off".»

    Windows XP SP 3

    Help and thanks to whom ever can tell me how to fix this problem

    Do you mean that no matter what you try to do to log in normal or any kind of safe mode, you continue to see a message loop that look like this:

    Starting Windows...
    Loading your personal settings...
    Once your settings...
    End the session...
    Loading your personal settings...
    Once your settings...
    End the session...

    If so, it is usually a sign that your system is currently or has been reached by malicious software.

    I don't think that these links KB will work and KB307545 there's a lot of work - and you don't have symptoms suggestive of a necessity to implement KB307545.  You have symptoms of a file userinit.exe lack.

    There is a malware that removes, corrupts, or replace the file c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe and/or some registry settings associated with it.  It is also possible that your anti-virus quarantined (actually deleted) file c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe, thinking that he was in some way afflicted.

    The userinit.exe is the file that processes your login in normal mode or any kind of Mode safe, so if it is missing or broken in some way it creates a never-ending cycle of failed logon attempts in any mode for all users.

    If you have some other affliction and used the Configuration System (msconfig) utility to add the option/SafeBoot for STARTING systems. INI to solve some problems, it will present the same symptoms a userinit.exe file missing.

    Did you use the Configuration System (msconfig) utility to add the /SAFEBOOT option to the BOOT. INI on your system?

    If the userinit.exe file is missing or damaged in some way, it is usually easy to just replace. Even if the replacement of the file will let you log in again, just replace the file is not solved the problem - it fixes the symptom of the problem.  When you log in again, you must do a little more work to relieve your system of any malware got your system distressed in the first place.

    It can also modify your registry so instead of the registry pointing to userinit.exe, that it points
    in another file called wsaupdater.exe.  Sometimes scanning programs can find and replace the wsaupdater.exe file but not to repair the registry you will need to somehow get the system to start and fix the rest of the problem at hand.

    It is quite popular to have Microsoft create a knockout that describes the problem of wsaupdater:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/892893

    I have not seen the problem of wsaupdater in a long time, but the absent userinit.exe is common.

    The following guidelines cover situations more than the article, but you should read the article anyway to figure things out a little better.

    AprΦs the dΘmarrage on the Console and recovery after run chkdsk/r with success, you should be in the C:\WINDOWS folder and the userinit.exe file is in the SYSTEM32 folder then change to the system32 folder by typing:

    CD system32

    Check the presence of the userinit.exe wsaupdater.exe. They may be there or they may not, but we need to know:

    Userinit.exe dir (post results - the file exists or not)
    wsaupdater.exe dir (post results - the file exists or not)

    No matter what you find, replace in any case the userinit.exe according to a copy elsewhere on your system.

    There is a copy backup of the userinit.exe in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache folder then copy it to the
    the c:\windows\system32 folder.

    In the c:\windows\system32 folder, enter:

    Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\userinit.exe c:\windows\system32

    If the file is not found is dllcache, this can work according to your installation:

    copy c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 c:\windows\system32

    If even that fails, you can get a userinit.exe on a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk and replace it.

    There are a userinit.exe XP SP3 on my SkyDrive, you can download:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39%21311

    Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file and then you should see a
    message 1 file (s) has been copied.

    If you have a bootable installed genuine XP installation CD and the CD is drive X, unzip the file
    leave the CD-ROM i386 folder to the c:\windows\system32 folder by entering this command:

    Expand x:\i386\userinit.ex_ c:\windows\system32

    Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file and then you should see a
    message 1 file (s) has been expanded.

    Remove the CD and enter the command "exit" at the Recovery Console prompt to reboot your system.

    Report your results.

  • connection iSCSI delivers or not?

    Hello,

    I'm encountering some issues with iscsi connections in my vSphere environment and my Equallogic group and wondering if I could get some input from you all. I'm curious to know if what I'm seeing is an Equallogic MEM or NLB event or if I actually have some type of issue. Here's a bit about my environment:

    3-ESXi Hosts - 5.0 U1 (623860)Each host has four 1Gbps cards dedicated to the iSCSI network (2 Intel and 2 Broadcom).Storage Heartbeat VMK configured and is the lowest vmk on vSwitch.Delayed ack is disabled.Dell MEM 1.1.2 installed

    2-HP 2910al-24g switches4 ports are dedicated to a LACP trunk group for the interswitch connectionjumbo frames enabledflow control enablediSCSI VLAN is not VLAN 1Switch logs look good with very few drops or errors.

    Should I expect to see the re-balance event noted in the vmkernel.log file? From other logs I've seen online, it appears as if they all show an entry that states a re-balance request has been received from the array, but I'm not seeing that in my logs. I've provided the relevant entries from both the Equallogic group and vSphere host below. Thanks.

    Thanks for any information you can provide.

    When a connection is moved either by the table for IO balancing through interfaces available on the battery, page movement when you have more than three members in a pool, or with installed MEM it will periodically move connections, you will see redundancy lost messages.  As you have noted, at the time wherever you check paths, that connection has already connected as it should.   For this shorter periods, less than a second in general, this session is gone and again one is created at the same time.  The volume is always accessible via the other sessions.   Therefore, a message of info, not an indication of a problem.  When the table of balances of the slices for a new Member in the pools only three, expect to see many, simulaneous messages from all hosts to connect to the data store.  This whirlpool is quite normal.

    Thank you peter and jovinz

    I think I have problem in httpconnectionfactory with several url parameter, as peter says

    so now I have usr post url as the code below

    the first issue of priority celluler TCP post code is also more WAP2 then

    Thus, each transport time select TCP when BIS, WIFI not presend and need for apn

    in any case, once again, thank you Peter and demo tools network dignostic is awasome...

  • CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 exporting bulk Configuration

    Hello

    Does anyone know an easy way to bulk export configurations off Ciscoworks LMS 3.2?  The only thing I found is the cli command export config u cwcli.exe - p-unit %, but it exports in XML format which is not very readable.  Prefer a text file format.  Someone at - it suggestions?

    Thank you

    Brian

    Hi Brian,.

    CLI, it is the only option, but what you can do to get the files in TEXT format is, you can connect to the server and

    go to this site: NMSROOT\CSCOpx\files\rme\dcma\shadow

    and

    NMSROOT\CSCOpx\files\rme\dcma\devfiles

    Thank you-

  • Problem connecting to the server by using the url with the logical name!

    Hi all!

    I looked for information on this subject, but have not seem to found a solution.

    I'm developing a Smartphone application that needs to connect to a server to retrieve data. Then I use a direct connection with the correct settings (I hope):

    URL = "url of the server" + "deviceside:true" + "AFN:...» »

    The problem is that the connection should be done without Hardcoding the "apn". These are the tests I've done so far (assuming I'm always add the ' deviceside: true ' parameter):

    URL (logical name) + AFN OK!
    FAILURE of the URL (logical name)
    URL (static IP) OK!

    * by logical name, I mean a url as www.google.com

    What I need is to use the logical name, without the parameter apn!  Maybe I'm missing another parameter that I don't know?

    Some additional info that might be useful! :

    -The server is a server of Vodafone, which, as has been explained to me, should be on the list of white of the RIM (not sure what that means, but I guess it has to do with the fact that BB connection through the RIM at one point servers, and be in this list gives a sort of 'privilege' when you browse servers of RIM) , and I don't know it is publicly accessible as (see following)

    -An android version of the application works fine without Hardcoding the AFN and using the logical name (I guess it has to do with the RIM servers!)

    Any help or ideas towards the solution that it is greatly appreciated!  If I'm missing some info that you think I should add! Please tell me!

    Thanks for your help!

    Juan

    Thanks Peter!

    I could solve it by looking at the code of the alternative of the Api network in the link sent you me!

    The solution was the addition of the ConnectionUID parameter to the url String!  as to why this solves the problem I still don't understand it! (If you can enlighten me with the reason, I would be very grateful)

    This value is found in the service books!, I have the zip code just in case it helps someone!

    Hogshead string = null;

    Full book sb = ServiceBook.getSB ();

    Reviews [] ServiceRecord = sb.getRecords ();

    for (int i = 0; i)< records.length;="">

    {

    String cid = records [i] .getCid () .toLowerCase ();

    String uid = records [i] .getUid () .toLowerCase ();

    If ((cid.indexOf ("wptcp")! = - 1) & (uid.indexOf ("wifi") ==-1) & (uid.indexOf ("mms") ==-1))

    {

    Hogshead = records [i] .getUid ();

    }

    }

    then add the parameter: ConnectionUID = Hogshead

    Once again, thank you!

  • Connection HTTP - tried and tried, but I still can't make it work!

    I am building this application that needs to get a XML from a web server. I got to work on the Simulator successfully, but were unable to make it work on my 8310. I have read on different transport and used the following code to try and choose the appropriate option.

    Simple function to obtain the registration of WAP service.

    private ServiceRecord getWAP2ServiceRecord() {
            ServiceBook sb = ServiceBook.getSB();
            ServiceRecord[] records = sb.getRecords();

            for (int i = 0; i < records.length; i++) {
                String cid = records[i].getCid().toLowerCase();
                String uid = records[i].getUid().toLowerCase();
                if (cid.indexOf("wap") != -1 && uid.indexOf("wifi") == -1
                        && uid.indexOf("mms") == -1 && uid.indexOf("browser") == -1
                        && uid.indexOf("push") == -1
                ) {
                    return records[i];

    The logic in the code above was added successfully; deviceside = true; ConnectionUID = secure WAPtrans

    I'm ideas here any help would be really appreciated.

    Ask a really stupid question, if you look at what he told you to use this article I mentioned in my last Post

    How - to specify APN information for a direct TCP connection
    Article number: DB-00532

    and compare that with what you actually used, did you notice a difference?

    May I suggest that read you the two articles again and specify either direct TCP APN values or WAP, not both?  In fact, I'd forget the WAP values, you are better using the code in the article to extract a COnnecitionUID and use the WAP 2.

  • BlackBerry network connectivity

    Hello

    I have problems intermittent attempt to download data in JSON format using http. I understand, much has been written about this issue, but anyone who has used below class to connect to HTTP?

    http://www.sameernafdey.com/2009/08/HTTPConnection-over-bis-WAP-10-11-WAP.html

    I tried above class for formatting my URL and it seems to help a little, because connections are not to be allowed to fall as well.

    Here are the class-
