connect pro wireless Officejet 8000 from Linux

My wireless printer works very well with my Mac, it also works via a usb cable for my linux.

How do I configure cups/wireless on fedora 14 so my linux also uses the Wi - Fi connection to printer?

Interesting! I'll try that when I get home. If this way works, Kudos are clearly in order.

THX!

I'm chasing a well-documented problem of my printer lost network connection after a variable period of printing to do not. The only way to connect is to change the power supply, but the printer may take 5 minutes to blow and grunts until it settles and prints...

I put a static IP address on the printer (10.0.0.250) as well as an empty default gateway successfully, and the documents are printed after 5mins of blowing and grunting (save the regular lost connection which I'm hunting...).

I put what I thought has a static IP address on the router to match (see image below), but now I don't know if it was necessary, and if the 'hosting of the fixed DHCP server' is correct. It might be useless and missleading...

Using the configuration of the printer to 10.0.0.250 interface, it seems to accept the installation of the network when the default gateway is blank. With the help of 10.0.0.2 caused the 'page not found' error in my browser (Chrome).

However, when you try to reinstall the drivers, the installer has grumbled to the default gateway is set to 0.0.0.0, which currently is the only way it will work...

The Win7 PC is plugged into the router.
The printer wireless to the router.

ipconfig on the pc gives Ethernet card details below.

So basically I have no idea what I'm doing...!

    ==============

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

    The connection-specific DNS suffix. :
    Link-local IPv6 Address...: fe80::c8e1:63ef:85e0:7 24% 13 c.
    IPv4 address...: 10.0.0.249
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. : 10.0.0.2.

    Router config.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that I solved the problem of the default gateway. Time will tell if the remains of the printer connected through long periods of no use (see update below).

It seems that the configuration of the router of the "DHCP fixed existing host" has nothing to do with the device assigned a static IP address. In fact, it seems that this setting prevents the printer through a default gateway of the router address.

I noticed that when you give the PC a fixed IP, it connected through the router without any other configuration of router. If I reasoned that it may be applied to the printer also, so I moved the printer 10.0.0.251 and Bingo! the default gateway can be set to the IP address of the route.

Since then I downloaded to other updates, which is supposed to correct the common problem of wireless printers, loss of the connection.

I'll try to report in the next few weeks an update about the stability of connection network printers.

    UPDATED: May 23, 2016

And more of the foregoing, my router support suggested I increase a parameter "timeout" from 24 hours to 10 days. I did it more than a week. Today, the printer worked after the impression of not for about 5 days

  • Publisher cannot connect printer wireless Officejet 6500 has E710e and the laptop over the network

I just changed my ISP and moved to British Telecom, who sent me a new router. The new service is in place and working well and I reconnected my Officejet 6500 a E710e CN557A to the wireless network. But I can't connect the printer to my laptop no matter what I try. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on the laptop using the original CD and then updated to the latest drivers. I even reset the printer to default and then network related setting before attempting to connect the portable computer whose IP address of the printer without success. My laptop OS is Windows 7 32 bit and the printer is just over a year. He worked like a dream with the old wireless network.

I have already downloaded on my laptop HP - HP Print and Scan Doctor diagnostic tools and troubleshooting network printer connection. Printing and scanning doctor can't see the printer and I followed the instructions of troubleshooting without success.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

If it is a BT Home Hub, they don't play well with HP wireless printers.

You can try this - remove all instances of your printer in Control Panel > devices & Printers. Then:

    1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing. Get his IP address for a network Test printed on the front of the printer.
    2. click on > start > Control Panel > devices & Printers.
    3. click on add a printer
    4. Select local printer
    5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
    6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the IP address of the printer. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
    9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. we may ask you to share the printer. Choose No.

  • Streaming to Adobe Connect Pro meeting to an external drive

A live webcam Adobe Connect Pro meeting is visible from an external drive based on Flash (not a record, but the meeting taking place live)? If Yes, what is the API to use?

I didn't belive it is possibe. If for no other reason, it would be to protect/apply the licensing of your meeting room. Logisitcally it would be difficulut, because the Connect meeting is not a single stream, so you should have something that might capture and properly combine all the different currents. Whatever it is, it has no API to do what you ask.

The printer is connected wireless to my router, using a 'fixed' IP address

    Can someone help me, please?

    Thankx

These settings are to set up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, wireless devices stay better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers must always be assigned an IP (fixed) manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto off" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check the properties of your printers.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. If necessary and you have assigned a static IP address, try using auxiliary for the preferred DNS Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS server.
    5. Wireless printers work only on the 2.4 Ghz band.
    6. Make sure the printer is on the latest firmware by checking with the HP support site.
    7. Check all devices wireless in your home for interference. Check microwave, babyphones, phones, wireless and wireless alarm systems are a big culprit. Any of these will knock at your printer wireless intermittently.
    8. Make sure that your printer and router are at least 6 feet, independently of the other.

In the router: (refer to the manual of your router for more information)

    1. Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    2. Set the router to 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.
    3. Always use WPA2-AES encryption (personal), but you can try the "mixed" mode
    4. Disable the WPS and never use it and disable the UPnP for the security of routers. No one can hijack your system now and help with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, research on the web).
    5. If you have a router dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands), make sure the SSID is NOT identical, they must be different for all the bands, even for networks without comments.
    6. SSID broadcast should be enabled.
    7. Save all the settings. Food at the same time, wait 2 minutes.  Power on router wait 2 minutes.
    8. Marketing the printer and check that it reconnects to the router.

Windows 7/8/8.1 is discovered the system on or off?

    1. Control Panel/Network and Internet/network and sharing Center / advanced sharing settings.
    2. Under home or work (current profile) / network discovery.
    3. Select "Turn on network discovery" and save the changes.

Last resort effort - if your printer has an Ethernet connection, suggest you to get some adapters line and convert your Ethernet wiring for your printer.

  • Cannot install wireless Officejet Pro 8000

My wireless printer worked very well. Then it stopped working. I would like to send a document (from Notepad) to the printer & it would just sit there. Normally I would be able to fix this stuck printing by selecting the printer & using "Troubleshoot". But it does not work.

I tried to uninstall & reinstall several times. I tried the wash cycle (4 times running). I tried Print doctor. Tried to uninstall manually by the instructions from HP and no luck.

I was able to install USB but cannot convert or add a wireless printer.

I get the error that does not match the 0.0.0.0 gateway. I tried to set it manually, but it does not recognize my router name.

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell laptop. My printer displays a web page to 192.168.1.4. The blue light is on radio. My router is Netgear N600 Dual. I am connected to the network & connected via USB to the printer.

I had 3 "blue screens of death" for a few days before my printer no longer works. I'm unable to use system restore to a previous restore point when my printer process worked.

I tried to follow another post on the forum to change the gateway, but I can't seem to do. Help, please!

Right, I solved my problem (after 20 hours of troubleshooting), I was able to get Print doctor to run & used to check the firewall. My Norton has been disabled, but Microsoft has been activated. I have disabled the Microsoft Firewall & tried ("add a printer") of the control panel. It worked! I now have a USB Officejet 8000 & an Officejet 8000 wireless!

    Hello

My HP Officejet Pro 8600 cannot print from my MacBook Air. It keeps on showing "the printer is not connected", but the display on the printer connected. I often reset the printer "EVERY TIME" I want to use. I also tried to turn off my laptop and printer several times before printing. If I'm lucky, it will work maybe for one or two prints. If no luck then I have to reset everything again. Sometimes I reset the printer, the printer is not displayed on my selection.

This means that you can connect to your WiFi network at home without big problems?
This indicates that s laptop WiFi connection works correctly.

I put t know what Satellite Pro, you have exactly, but have you checked if you can update the WLan driver?

    What happens if you change the Wlan standard? (802.11 a / B / G or N)
This can be changed in the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab

    Hi Alan

    1.
Can you use IE and other applications if the WIFI network is not secure with WPA2?
    You can test using WEP?
Just to be safe because of securing WLAN.

    2.
You are right. Your model has Intel WLAN card and if you need a new driver just visit Portal Toshiba WLAn under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

I really don't know what service or upgrade of system you are using, but if everything works well you don't need any update to date.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 Connect USB on Windows 10

I've recently updated Windows 8.1 to Windows Pro 10. I lost connection to my Officejet Pro 8600. When I try to reinstall using the HP CD, the system does not recognize the USB cable is connected. The cable I use (which came with the printer) is not under any stress, so I don't think the USB cable is defective. How can I fix? Thank you!

    Hi @ThreeofSeven,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand that you have recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 to Windows Pro 10 and when you try to install using the installation disk supplied with the printer is not recognizing the USB cable. I want to help you with that.

I would like to start by uninstalling all HP Officejet Pro 8600 previously installed software and drivers.

    1. If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.

2 Windows search to uninstall a program, and then click the control panel to uninstall a program in the list of results.

    3. in the list of installed programs, click the name of your HP printer, and then click Uninstall or Yes to confirm uninstallation.

    4. follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation of software.

    5 restart the computer.

Then, use the HP printer installation wizard to install the latest version of the software and drivers for your printer. Note: wait until you are prompted to connect the USB cable.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

  • Intermittently lose connection WiFi. XP Pro, Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG

I recently recovered from a nasty virus and my computer seems back to normal except an annoying problem. Periodically, I lose my wireless connection. It happens on multiple networks, so I know it's the computer. I updated my drivers (all who were on the Dell support site specific for my service tag) and still not fixed. I used to be forced to restart, but now (after the driver update), I can use the Device Manager to disable, and then enable the wireless adapter and the connection returns every time... but its obviously annoying.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I have a Dell Latitude D630 running XP Pro. The
card is an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. Thanks in advance.

You may not say anything on the power saving mode, but the link you posted has done. None of these things worked anyway.

However, I found a solution that others may find useful. Apparently the Dell Web site is not exhaustive with regard to the pilots. I found a update for my driver wireless on a third party site, Drivermax.com

After the update, the problem has been resolved. DriverMax is an application that is free to download and much appreciated on download.com

Free version allows only download driver per day, so be sure to choose carefully.

Lesson learned: sites Web of manufacturers is not always the best place to find updates driver
