Connect to the not not in instance using Oracle Net

I'm looking for an answer to a question how to connect to an instance not mounted by Oracle Net.
I know it's possible to make a static record on listener.ora file and it will be ok. But I also knew that we can do this through dynamic registration, but there must be an entry in tnsnames.ora (something like ux = i). I was looking for this entry and can't find it. Can someone help me?

I'm following the instructions provided in the document Oracle DBA for 2 days.

Page 8-9, he gives instructions on how to configure net service using Oracle Net Manager names. Following the instructions, I created a new Identification of spare (by selecting the Naming Service and pressing the green button (+)). Using this method, I've created a new descriptor as shown below:

As an exercise, I wanted to use Oracle Net Manager to create a descriptor that uses the SID instead of the SERVICE_NAME, just as I did in EM, but I can't find a way to do it. I be getting the SID of grey field (locked) or various errors.

The question is: Should what steps I follow in Oracle Net Manager to create a descriptor like the one I created in EM?

SID's ancient mechanism of the sqlnet. EM allows you to do so by an option button, but all other oracle tools are now using the mechanism of the Service only as the new standard that is used when the client tries to connect to the server. SID asks that the service must be available on this ony node where you try to connect without additional installation as failover, load balancing services in order to provide you with. So I would say you respect the service mechanism only and as far as I know, there is no way to put a SID by using the Oracle networking tools.

Nothing to do on the side of the EBS.
Compare to Siebel, load tests using more memory agent, don't expect not to run too SAW with a single agent. So depending on the number max of SAW, you must properly size your CA.
Linux is a more scalable system to manage the memory usage. (you can not do that with siebel since the lib of correlation must run on windows).
According to the script (web or forms, mix, short or long), you will be probably limited to 200/300 users per agent.

Q re: test a Config name except. using Oracle Net Configuration Assistant

I use Oracle Net Configuration Assistant to test connectivity to a service name.

If I specify the username SCOTT and password valid, the test completes successfully, however, if I do the same test with user defined as 'sys as sysdba' name and his password, I get the message "ORA01017: name of user and password invalid; connection refused '.

If I use the same credentials using SQL * Plus, I can connect without any problems.

Question: Why am I not able to test connectivity to ONCA using "sys as sysdba" as well as his password?

I believe that when you give, 'sys as sysdba', this set is treated as a "username" which is not really. This is why the error is generated for you. If you would like to try just give Sys, you'd see he comes back with an error connection sys must use clause "as sysdba. Then fate of a kind of the story chicken egg. The netca text box has the possibility to enter the credentials of the user as user Sys OMI.

HP pavilion model dv9910us: unable to connect to the internet with hp laptop using xfinity router/modem

I have a hp pavilion computer model with windows vista premium OS hom dv9910us. I have a wireless modem/router xfinity gateway device. I got it somewhere else and it worked using verizon with a router and a separate modem. I also tried a location xfinity with a router and a separate modem and it worked. I had a separate wireless adapter and installed and disabled the atheros ar5007 adapter in Device Manager. This 2011 atheros adapter will work with this model computer using the operating system windows vista Home premium. If so, could I leave the disabled ar5007 and install the 2011 to make sure it's ok before you uninstall the ar5007. I'm really a novice and stumbling just my way through it. Any help is appreciated.

We have customized Oracle Forms Application; The current production version is 10g (9.0.4.3).
We are trying to upgrade to 10.1.2.3.

I have installed on the same server at separate oracle 'forms and reports' 10.1.2.0.2 + Patch 10.1 .2.3;
We use exactly the tnsnames.ora or sqlnet.ora file in the production version and the new version. When I me sqlpus using oracle version of production House that he takes 3 seconds running connects to database and when I execute sqlplus using the new connection to the oracle home in the same database takes 30 sec.
What is the problem?

The trick is that img src can point to an image in line with the cid: syntax, where you use the value of the Content-ID header.
If you have multiple images, you just repeat add blobs as above with each their own unique Content-ID you can then use as img src tags in your HTML code.

All this is not tested and I leave you to encapsulate in a procedure and to BLOB handling etc.
But you get the idea, I am sure - just mix your solutions with Billys ;-)

How to get the webservices project customer specific use Oracle.
I have a Web services project I developed in VS2005 where I use the Oracle.DataAccess.dll provided by Oracle 10 g ODAC to connect to an Oracle 8.1.7.4 database. I add a reference to the dll in the folder c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\ODP.NET\bin\2.x. I create and publish Web services and checked that Web services are working correctly. I ran into problems when I installed the latest version of the ODAC for Oracle 11, where the webservice Gets the following error ORA-03134 - this version of the server connections are more supported. Based on what I read here and ther panels, it seems that when I installed the ODAC for Oracle 11 he installed a policy file that redirects all calls to use Oracle 11 components data access rather than that I've specified explicitly in my project.

Is it possible for me to always have the components of Oracle 11 working side by side with Oracle 10 g and forced my project to always use the components of Oracle 10 g?

I just did a quick test with binding in an app.config file redirection, and has precidence over policy in the gac file.

Here's my app.config. I compiled with 2.102.2.20, the app ran with 2.111.7.0, despite the 2.111.7.20 policy in the gac file.

sdsql does not connect and does not give any useful diagnostic.

What is the point of sdsql? It does not connect, it gives no clue as to why, and it doesn't seem to be any documentation.

Hi, I am new to Oracle BPM and I have a doubt.
I can attach files and notes and view them in the process, but I also need to view when the process is complete.
I record on the database, the process Id and the ID of the Instance. I want to review records and notes associated with the ProcessId and InstanceId I already save to the database.

Unable to connect to the network in Windows 7 using the Boot Camp via Fusion 2.0.4 partition

I know that Windows 7 RC is not officially supported, but I was wondering if anyone had ideas regarding my current situation. I'm running the RC 32 - bit of a Boot Camp partition, via merger on a unibody MacBook, and whenever I'm in Fusion Windows cannot connect to my network. Previously, I had a vm file-based and it worked normally, and in Boot Camp, I can get online without problem. I went to training Camp to see if the Aero effects would work (they did after I ran the test of Windows experience). I tried mode Bridged and NAT and any Windows does not see my wireless network.

At the time current Windows 7 in any version is not supported by Apple on the Boot Camp partition, nor is it supported in any way under Fusion.

Take a look at the configuration of the Virtual Machine's .vmx file and make sure that the NIC is showing that "e1000" as in the following example.

To get the location of the Machine configuration file virtual .vmx take a look at the Beginner's Guide has VMware Fusion or gather Information for VMware Fusion.

Note: You should make the change while Windows is shutdown, not suspended and merger closed.

You can use TextEdit to edit the .vmx of the target Virtual Machine configuration file and locate the file...
