I work for HP, but does not speak for HP

Although I speak not of HP, I wanted to make you aware that Drive connected HP is currently offered for the trial of the first users.  It currently has no limit of total storage space nor the number of collected files (files added to your HP Cloud), but there is a 100 MB limit on the size of any single file collected in the clouds of HP. The ability to collect as many files as you want is an advantage to be an early user.  Unlimited volume may not last forever, but as the offering of the connected HP player continues to evolve, HP has the priority to ensure that your service is not interrupted.

  • Can I connect a drive hard thunderbolt to two Macs?

I have an iMac and my main storage device is a disk hard thunderbolt (double disk RAID).  I also have a mac mini as a server and I would like to set up the service of time machine, but only if it can store backups on the same drive external thunderbolt.  I know there are two ports thunderbolt on the disc, but I guess it can be used only with one computer at a time.  Is this true? Or is it possible to connect the disc both computers at the same time? (Even if it is only used for the service of time machine).

That's right the led drive only be attached to a single Mac.

You can have backups from two Mac on disc one hard, if you share the Mac disk drive that is connected. The second Mac then backup over the network to the first Mac who will write the data on the hard drive.

A friend of mine tried to do the same thing, but he used some external device and special software which are necessary for his transfer and editing. Please don t ask me how it works exactly.

  • Fixing of SSDS as external drive

    Hey,.

I own a 2012 MacBook pro with SSD. Last year I had a problem with my SSD SATA cable (the Mac showed gray

screen with a question mark and after reading this forum, I discovered that the cable is often a source of this kind of problems). After replacing the cable, everything worked fine.

I am now faced with a new issue where the Mac has become suddenly very slow, showing a spinning wheel, 95% of the time.

    (1) is it possible that it's still once caused by the SATA cable? Memory, CPU utilization, everything seems fine. A turning almost endless wheel can be caused by a bad SATA cable? (Maybe since IOs to SSD taking too long).

    (2) in order to check the number of cable, I connect the SSD drive via USB as an external drive. Can I detach the SSD at the jury, connect it via the external USB adapter and start the Mac? That will just work "out of the box"? Or do I somehow configure the external SSD first?

    Thank you

    AVI

Assuming that it is one of the 2012 with a removable SATA models, it is possible, it is again the same problem, but I would start more generally...

To solve this, please see hosting the  poster forum and also see my ad in another recent thread what to try and what to post here.  Safe mode and the Console.app and activity Monitor.app and related controls will provide a view of what is happening here, and if it is related to the connection of disc or not.   Etrecheck can also display errors that arise here and you can try hardware diagnostics and see what those report.

  • Why Autocheck.exe takes 3 + minutes at startup

    Salvation;

I've recently set up a new build (the end plug) and after installing the win 7 updates that were available, I started having a recurring problem starting sloooooooooow.  I seem to have two options now, and none of them are perfect, that's why I post here.

    1. I can restart and wait 3-4 minutes, and when windows starts, everything seems fine
    2. I can remove autocheck autochk * of the BootExecute registry entry, then it starts fine, but then windows is locked for about 3 minutes after logon. Nothing does.  After that, it works fine.

In the investigation of this situation, I blame first SMSSinit, but I discovered later that this routine is rather a chaperone for the other processes that are running before Winlogon support functions of escort.  With the help of MS SDK, I found that it is Autochck.exe who is the culprit, taking 200-220 seconds on each boot.  I have done the following (and more) for this problem:

    1. check all readers to forest Sales - none found
2 DAB check on all connected not discs - no error found
3 disabled Checkdisk in "task manager".
4 disabled Checkdisk on the register (when I do that, I get the scenario 2 above)
5 restart the computer in every way that I can imagine
6 tried a repair of windows with my stick UEFI (no love - don't say it found no problem)
    7. I tried to go back to a previous restore point (I only had one and it has not resolved)
8 deleted all the updates of windows that I did (and all Win updates are set to manual only)
9 autochk.exe caught another install and put it in the folder Windows/system32 (after correct ownership of both) with a new name autochk_safe.exe and made the registry BootExecute entry to this application checkdisk (thought that was a smart test I found on another forum)

    10A ran sfc/scannow - no problems found
    11 set the registry BootExecute entry "" autocheck autochk / k: C / k: M / k: S k:R k:G * '. "  I tried this (which should skip autocheck at startup for C, G, M, R and S readers), but it changed nothing.  And it's a deactivation of all disks in the system.

If anyone knows what steps I can take here to stop this autocheck scope and not suffer the consequences, it would of course be appreciated.  And Yes, I know that I can do a thorough cleaning and reinstall, but it isn't necessary that something is the cause and needs to be identifiable and solvable IMO.

    See you soon ~

At this stage of installation the installation program has not yet copied all files or written a basic configuration register.  You can see the drive because the drivers are loaded into memory to allow the Setup program see the disks at this time there hadn't even told it the installer where to install Windows, how he knew where to put the files?

  • H:\ is not accessible impossible to format

    Hello

It's Manu I have 16 GB SanDisk USB key when I insert my USB it showing windows want to format the drive when I clicked it again show an error IMPOSSIBLE to format how I can I solve this problem...?

    Have you tried formatting cmd.

First try this, type Format H:/q cmd (where h is the drive letter of your)

USB stick in your case it may be different). It performs a quick format.

You can also format the key USB by right-clicking Start to go on the computer

Management then disk management , then you can click right on your

    USB key for formatting.

If it doesn't not solve your problem, then try on way:

Right-click on the service Start , and then click the command prompt (Admin).

Now, in cmd type diskpart , and then type list disk you can see the disk

number and size to find you which disk is your USB. If you

don't have not connect another disc Disk 1 then maybe your USB key.

Type select disk 1 then type Clean . After that, type create partition primary

who creates the new partition, and then type select partition 1 to choose who

partition after the category active then format fs = ntfs quick where fs is the

system files of your pen drive now type assign to assign the drive letter.

    Get out now cmd.

You can also use the software Hp format or Format usb drive to format

your pen drive, search it in google.

This means that Lightroom cannot find the photos on one of your hard disks, because you (or a program) have moved or renamed or deleted outside of Lightroom. There is probably an icon of exclamation point on the picture, as shown in Figure 2 here: Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing , click the point exclamation and Lightroom live for the good location/name of the file of the photo.

It could also mean that the disk with the photo is unplugged, which case it connects the disc.

  • Support in ESXi 5 cassette player

VMware took support to fix a tape to an ESXi host drive and run a virtual machine with the tape drive set up?   http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC & docType = kc & docTypeID = DT_KB_1_1 & externalId = 1016407

The tape library features and backup together with VMware ESX/ESXi software are supported partner.

VMware ESXi supports the scsi tape drive but its a supported and validated by the seller, VMware doesn't validate.

If you look at the KB to say like that, and if you look at the page "vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-50-storage-guide" guide 35 its said that FC connected conical discs are not supported but scsi tape drives connected are still supported.

For more information, I suggest you open a request and deal with VMware.

  • Best options .vmx and config.ini for maximum security of the host

Hello.  The most effective way to keep your private data is by keeping it on a separate computer that is not connected to the internet.  Better yet, only transfer files to and from this computer using usb flash drives, not network.  I would do the same thing with vmware player.  The guest would be used for navigation and connected to the internet via a usb cable rather than fill the host's ethernet card.  The host would be the private computer that has a connection to the internet.  It will have all the tcp/ip or other network completely removed features.

The only means of communication between the host and the guest will be a usb flash drive.  The guest would be without a hard drive, a liveCD of linux, which would only have a disc temporarily when you connect the USB flash for it.  It goes without saying that you should not connect usb flash to the guest after navigation in a dangerous site.  Or even any site unrelated to download just one you want to record to the host.

But I've heard there are always ways to invade privacy, something to do with the Clipboard, pagefile, exploits, etc., and most can be combated by configuring the .vmx or config.ini for maximum security options.

Does anyone know what are the options in the .vmx or the config.ini file should be used for maximum security, to complete isolation of the host?

It is good to hear Hat based project.

    The problem with the on-board unit is often a wrong configuration (such as keeping the default values). These devices can be operated directly from distance or indirectly via a host operated on the local network. Otherwise, the router is vulnerable directly from outside, a host on the local network can for example be targeted by an xss attack that targets more your router. SPI Dynamics from their publication a portscanner of javascript for the local network (search google for it). At www.gnucitizen.org, they have a lot of router base articles (some of them mention mesing with dns via upnp (scary stuff). Some links on this stuff;

    http://SecLists.org/fulldisclosure/2006/Aug/0097.html

    http://www.shoaibyousuf.com/2009/04/ciscos-Linksys-router-is-vulnerable-to.html

    http://www.packetstormsecurity.org/0801-advisories/HomeHub-UPnP.txt

A misconfigured host on the local network can be devastating too. Remember a few years ago when the DreamBox became popular (it's actually a GNU / linux). No one hardly changed passwords by default and where wide open to the internet on port 21,22,23,80. Now connect to port 22 (ssh), meant you can use it as a proxy in the local network (to log into the router and do whatever, or target other hosts on the lan). Google search for it also.

On MOA, it didn't is nothing other than a server stripped 2003 running as LocalSystem. It means that it is not patched and can be exposed to exploits more than servers entirely patches. It will, also, a pain in the back to add patches to such an MOU. Ulli you agree? However, given that the system is a version of server, there also fewer services that may be potentially vulnerable to exploits. If you have two vectors in the opposite direction, such a system could be on the vulnerability. To run patched systems entirely in the eye of the ram at http://www.disklessangel.com . By passing as LocalSystem, means that once exploitet, the operator can make preatty although, as opposed to less than a user of privilged in expoitet. Also ongoing execution in a State without drive, limit significantly impact the feat will do for your system (at least to vm (with bootkits in head)) that the malware disappeared on restart. However, if you where exploitet in ram, the attacker could still get all your personal information that you presentation while boot (just like as if you where linking the local hard disk (only difference don't have the disk in the next startup).) Once the network connection is cut off, even attach flash drives, will leave malware what what to do for your flashdisk, as always, there are in ram, expect that connect the disc (but is resolved naturally if reboot before you connect the flash). How would you be able to download and save a file in such a case?

The next thing to worry about is the type of connection to your router. If through wireless it is a whole new world of expoits (xss for free/airpwn, breaking encryption, mitm, operator chipsets, etc.), so definitely go for ethernet cable.

The decision of virtualized or not, my vote would go to non-virtual, as there is at least an attack vector less to worry about IE EP-mode pure diskless as MOA.

BTW, what kind of project is this?

Couple of good link of your interest for:

    http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_models/
    http://www.tonymarston.NET/PHP-MySQL/database-design.html

The three levels of modeling data, conceptual data model, logical model of data and model of physical data are discussed in the link below:
    http://www.1keydata.com/Datawarehousing/data-modeling-levels.html

So, it just go through these data model theory, think of your data center application and match. Do'nt assumes that i / we will do this by that, simply note on them so you will know what was your approach at the time of the project, at a later stage; I mean using the pen and paper is a must; While we are in the design phase.
