connection of two monitor using hdmi cables

hp Hello Forum

I want to connect two monitors using two hdmi cables, hdmi to dvi cable and an external graphics card.  The problem is, I don't know where to start? (what to connect to what?) I can do if I have easy to follow instructions or illustrations would be gr8, thanks in advance :-)

Sorry... I just noticed that we have discussed your configuration before. May I ask if the previously suggested configuration did not work? What prompted the purchase of the USB graphic card?

Display USB adapters are designed mainly for the non-graphiquement intense... Adding screens for things like spreadsheets, documents word, daytrading, presentations, etc. The display adapter using USB can cause a lower performance than using the native chart AMD Radeon HD 7570 card. I suggest that you avoid using the USB graphic card, if possible. Depending on your selection of available cables, if suggests using one of the following configurations;

(1) computer > HDMI cable > monitor and the computer > cable DVI > monitor (recommended)

or

(2) computer > HDMI cable > monitor and the computer > DVI-HDMI cable > monitor

  • Can I use to connect to the monitor external hdmi

Can I use the HDMI port to connect to an external monitor while shooting video with my EOS 7 d? In addition, this monitor can be a 1920 X 1080 HD monitor? I would need to get a mini HDMI cable DVI, but want to make sure, that it would not harm the camera before trying.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello HowardLane,

Yes, you would certainly be able to use the EOS 7 d HDMI output to connect to an external monitor.  While a studio monitor is usually used because of their qualities of accuracy and calibration of color, any monitor with a HDMI terminal input would work.  This will not harm the camera.

My TV captures the laptops of screen cable hdmi soon an i plug it in but won't play no audio and I cannot work out how to get the audio working. Help, please

    Hi cus.

VGA, DVI and component video cables do support audio signals. HDMI cables are supported, but not all, audio signals compatible HDMI video audio support cards. If your TV has an audio input, you might be able to connect an audio cable separated from the sound card of your computer directly to the TV. Otherwise, you need to connect the different audio signal to an output device, such as external speakers or your stereo.

  • HPE HP8 1360t DVI connections and two monitors

I recently bought a new HP8 HPE 1360t directly from HP.

I finally got around to get set up last night. I like almost everything about it, EXCEPT to try to figure out how to make it work with two monitors.

Before buying, I contacted HP sales to confirm that this model could support two monitors in extended mode, which means that Office spans both monitors, giving me two times the workspace.

I have two monitors (1908FP) Dell that I got as part of a severance package from my last job (Yes, I know what you think) and down them as two monitors with the office in extended mode. They have both connected via DVI to a MOLEX splitter. They seem to be of DVI - D Single Link.

At the back of my new computer, there are three DVI ports:

-one on its own and it is DVI - I Dual Link (photo below)

-both grouped together and on the side. one looks like DVI - I Dual Link and the other DVI - D Dual Link

When you configure the workstation I naturally just assumed to connect all the cables DVI mail of my monitors for each of the two DVI ports on the side. Nothing happened.

I removed then each of them to test it on its own. Still nothing.

Then I plugged into the port at the top, and it worked. But it has only a single port.

So I went back and tried the other in each of the two and went to the panel display and but it does not recognize the second monitor.

At this point I don't know what to do. They told me this computer supports two monitors, but I don't see how it's done if neither of the DVI low ports to work.

Is there anything else I should do? Or have I not those who simply do not work?

I am running Windows 7 family Premium 64-bit (Service Pack 1), Direct X 11, and the graphics card is GeForce GT 630.

If it means anything NVIDIA control panel says my card and monitor are HDCP and it does not find the second monitor when I use setting up the functionality of multiple screens.

I would be very happy for any help and advice.

    Thank you.

    Lee

    This model uses a card mother IPMMB-FM (Formosa). The built-in rear I/O below;

    (5) - DVI - I (digital and analog output) and DVI - D (digital only)

When the computer is equipped with a dedicated graphics installed in slot PCIe x 16 card, this motherboard integrated DVI outputs are disabled. The only connections that you can use are those on GT630 discrete graphic card. This card must have at least a DVI and an HDMI output. Please post a photo of the back of your computer, centered on the graphics card. You may need to use a HDMI-DVI adapter to connect the second monitor.

  • Satellite L650-11F - how to connect to LCD via an HDMI cable?

    Hello world

I have the Satellite L650-11F with ATI 5650 and HDMI port and I want to connect the laptop via HDMI lcd screen so that I have some office using 2 * ATI Catalyst * and * software HydraVision, but ATI sites said that Toshiba notebook is not supported (Please check with your mobile phone OEM for support of the drivers for these laptops).

So, how can I connect my laptop to LCD screen to get 2 workstation?

Sorry for my bad English :)

    Hi thebluewriter,

I think you need to check only the other discussions of the forum on the connection for laptop LCD screen. You will find enough about it!

In any case, most recent display driver you can download on the official website of Toshiba, but usually it s preinstalled on your laptop.
If you are using a HDMI cable, use just FN + F5 key combination to switch between monitors. All that s! :)

  • Smaller with the 2511 X HP monitor screen HDMI cable?

Hi people, I have a desktop HP p6230f, Windows 7 64-bit o/s and a GPU ATI Radeon HD 5770. I had no problem with it until last night. Finally, I changed my DVI cable connecting the monitor to the computer during an HDMI cable.

I have a picture of a 1 "wide black on three of the four sides of the screen! For example; If I drag an icon on my desktop or one of the items in my sidebar to the outer edges of the screen, they begin to disappear behind a blackened by the section of the frame of the screen about 1 "of the actual plastic mount that make up the structure of the entire screen!

Now that 1 "size approximate but the width of the glass of the monitor is 21 3/4 but I can get about 20" of the real, usable, the screen display and 12 1/4 inches monitor glass vertically measured I can get about 11 1/8 inches of usable display! This means that I get less of 23 "usable display when measured diagonally.

I already checked the monitor to the HDMI settings and I don't see nothing wrong in the settings of Windows 7. I'm about to reinstall the driver for the monitor, but I seriously doubt that will work.

Also, I noticed that all my fonts and size of my desktop icons are smaller than they were before the change. I know how to enlarge them all but the problem is that they seem to keep back to the small size when I shut down the computer and start it back up.

Now, it is possible that the problem is not related to the HDMI cord and I'm only note this 1 "black frame on each side and the top of my screen for other reasons unrelated to the monitor HDMI cable.

So yes, I'll reinstall the DVI cable and see if that makes a difference, but even if it does, my question is; Why this would happen when connected to the HDMI cord, (I will also check the drivers of the HD 5770)

    Thank you

HAH! It wasn't my imagination! Just when I was about to throw in the towel and admit that I was imagining all this and he went even to pull demand for assistance on the site I found the problem.

For those who can run in this one day in the future, the resolution is in the "AMD Vision Engine Control Center" . I had lost my settings because I got an error of starting due to my inability to follow directions on a USB HUB, I added to the system last night*.

On the left of this Panel of the user is a number of adjustments, you can do on a good many things involving graphs including the monitor you are using. Just click on the box entitled 'My digital flat screens' and Tin the drop-down list, click on "Options of scaling (Digital Flat Panel).

You will see a slider that lets you adjust the scale yourself, or you can put a check in the box and have done automatically. If you use the cursor like I did, drag it over to the full adjustment right up to '0% overscan. As you do that you will see on the screen grow to fill the entire display window, (every 25 inches diagonal of it).

That's all! Click "Apply" and you're done. This issue is resolved.

** (that's another story, but the short of it is that you do not want to add devices to the HUB USB FRONT that the new hub will load its drivers!).

  • Dell XPS 15, using Dell U2711 external monitor using HDMI

    Hi all

Just thought I'd share how I connected my Dell XPS 15 (9550) to my Dell U2711 monitor to help and the HDMI cable

Go to control panel Intel HD graphics
Set a customized for Dell U2711 monitor resolution
2560 x 1440-55 Hz with CVT - rb option for standard synchronization

All update more than 55 Hz, the screen's burst of color. He looked washed out.

You need to go to multiple screens and apply a simple screen and choose Dell U2711 monitor as a single monitor. Then go to General settings and adjust the settings of the monitor display to 2560 x 1440, with a refresh rate of 55p.

Back to multiple monitors, and then click the extended desktop.

Go to General settings and make sure that the resolution of 2560 x 1440 with refresh rate of 55P is selected.

Another possible setting is to click on the desktop and select display, click Advanced display settings and select the resolution of 2560 x 1440 for the Dell u2711 monitor

    Hope this is useful.

    Thanks for posting this fix.

  • Satellite A205: Dynadock - how to connect to LCD TV with HDMI Cable DVI

I recently bought this product and had a problem when connecting it to my LCD TV.
I used an HDMI cable to DVI to connect to the TV. Only a small part of the display shows on the TV.

I did all the settings on the laptop (Satellite A205) but it adjusts only the laptop screen, not TV.
I also used VGA adapter, connected to the entrance of the computer to the TV, same effect. Can I use VGA output on the side of the laptop to TV ok.

Any ideas on how to adjust output dynadock parameters?

First of all, it would be interesting to know what dynadock you exactly; a DVI or a VGA port?

    > I did all the settings on the laptop (Satellite A205) but it adjusts only the laptop screen, not TV.

You should know that the dynadock has an own integrated graphics controller and video drivers to control the video stream.
Therefore, you should change the settings directly in the settings dynadock and not on the laptop!

  • My GT5481E can connect to my TV using HDMI?

    SDMI PORT ON IT 7550331

    RE: Windows Vista model GT5481E S/N CGM75 610 00085

This model is available to connect to the TV with an HDMI cable? Or how to connect to them.
I wouldn't find HDMI outport on the rear panel of the pc or no possibility to add it to change?
    Help, please.
    Thank you
    Eugene Kim

Starting from this reference here (and assuming that it is the correct computer), no, you will not be able to use the default HDMI.
If your TV allows, you can use VGA and audio cable separated, as described in the links above.

  • Unable to connect laptop to TV via HDMI cable

    Original title: unable to connect

I recently put HP G-62 - b51SE.I tried to connect to my HDMI TV using the HDMI cable but nothing works. Is there a way I can connect. What settings should I do in order to make the display appear on television. I have windows 7 ultimate.

    Hi Lovemicrosoft,

    1. first you need a video cable to make the physical connection. For a better image quality, you must connect to the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via DVI to HDMI cable provided your TV supports these ports.

    2. open the "display settings" in your Vista computer and activate the output to the TV screen. You can reflect the content of your computer on the TV or extend the display as a double screen control.

    3. pick up your TV remote and switch to "External inputs" in the menu. You need to change the value by default "Video 1" to a different selection which may be "HDMI 1" or "video 2" depending on how you made the connection. "

Important: Make sure you connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer, because sometimes it may not recognize the external display.

You may also change the resolution of your TV screen using the display settings in your panel of control remains the image may appear distorted.

  • resolution of the screen using hdmi cables

    I have a dell inspiron 15 3520. It has a resolution of 1366 x 768. The hdmi cable I have is a cable game and 4096 x 2160.

I use the hdmi cable only to watch movies from my laptop to my tv.

When I plug the hdmi cable, my phone tells me the screen resolution does not. It is said that my viewing can be affected.

Is it OK to use this cable or should I replace it with another?

Cables have no resolution, only screens/monitors/TVs do.

Most HDTVs have a resolution of 1024 x 768, but it can vary.  But it does not harm your computer, simply use the resolution setting that your TV manual recommends.
