Its around 500 zip file and I can not download it now. I want to know if there is any other way I can connect to other than DG4ODBC mysql.

You must use DG4ODBC to connect to a MySQL database. If you have already installed Oracle 11 database, dg4odbc is usually included in the Oracle_Home.

For a MySQl ODBC driver, see the web site of MySQL Web developers and search for connectors:

    I need to connect to oracle 10g db using shell linux files. Already I have username, password, hoststring and details is SCOTT/TIGER@TESTDB.
    I need to pass the values of this 3 (SCOTT/TIGER@TESTDB) at runtime only (i.e.) as PARAMETERS. Suppose that I'll give the wrong password or username, I need to capture this error in 1file and send the error details to our dba teams mail identification. • Connection to Oracle 11g with MySQL 5.1

    Hey all,.
    I have searched all over the web for this, and I can't find information that applies to my case. I have an Oracle 11 g DB on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 installer and installing the heterogeneous services ODBC driver. I want to connect it to a different Windows 2003 SP2 machine running MySQL Community.

    On the side of the Oracle, I set up the systems to MySQL ODBC connection, and it connects successfully. I also configured tnsnames.ora as follows:

    mysqlecommerce =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS =
    (PROTOCOL = TCP)
    (HOST = dvlps11.cosine.com.cy)
    (PORT = 1521)
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = mysql_gateway))
    (HS=OK))

    I have initmysql_gateway.ora with the following two lines:

    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = mysqlecommerce
    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = ODBC

    and I get the following in the listener.ora file:

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = mysql_gateway)
    (ORACLE_HOME=C:\Oracle11g\product\11.1.0\db_1)
    (PROGRAM = dg4odbc)
    )
    )

    I also created a dblink as follows:

    create the 'MYSQLECOMMERCE' of the public database link
    connect to MYSQLDB
    identified by '< pwd >.
    using 'mysqlecommerce ';

    Now when I try to run a simple SQL selection such as:

    Select 'id_category' ps_category"@mysqlecommerce «»

    I get the following response:

    ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:
    [MySQL] [ODBC 5.1 Driver] [mysqld - 5.1.36 - community-log] you have an error in your syntax SQL; consult the manual for your version of the MySQL server for the right syntax to use near '' id_category' FROM 'ps_category' A1' at line 1

    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of DG4ODBC

    Can someone please help me understand what is happening?

    Thank you in advance!

    The syntax error is caused by your database MySQL does not not in ANSI mode. By default, DG4ODBC sends a code compliant ansi in the foreign database, which means for column sensitive to case and table names it surrounded by double-quotes. MySQL DB not working not in mode compatible ANSI rejects them and uses a back tick to preserve the case - so it reports a syntax error in the case of double qoutes.

    To solve the problem please have a look to My Oracle Support note:
    Problems of selection of data to Mysql using 11.1.0.6 DG4ODBC - error in your SQL syntax [ID 553030.1]

    The db 10 g doesn't exist that I can connect using the oracle8 odbc, but have been told by the DBA I should use the odbc of 10 g.
    I even tried to install Oracle 10 g client administrator version to make sure that I had all the required client files.

    Everyone knows about a problem like this?

    Hi Martin,

    You may need to update your DataDirect driver. See this technote:

    Updated DataDirect JDBC drivers (version 3.5)
    http://www.Adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=42dcb10a

    This driver has support for Oracle 10 g.

    I tried to connect with SQL and TOAD, but the same error.

    Can anyone tell me the reason.

    Aqeel Nawaz

    The reason is probably that your client software is too old (and supported in the previous Millennium).
    Only 8.1.7.4 will work with 10 gr 2

  • Unable to connect to oracle 10g on the local computer without internet

    Hello

    I installed Oracle 10 g and toad on my laptop. Whenever I restart my laptop my IP changes as the network is shared by other machines too. Whenever this happens, I get the error "ORA-12541: TNS:no listner. So, I have to change the IP in tnsnmaes.ora whenever I restart my laptop to connect to the oracle database. Is there no workaround solution so that it is not necessary to edit tnsnames.ora everytime I restart the laptop? How can I connect to the database even if I am not connected to the internet (i.e. not an IP address).

    Thank you.

    Your best bet is probably the loopback adapter, which gives you a fake fixed IP of Workaround DHCP.

    Edit: I should learn to read what is better. However, the loopback adapter may still work in your case.

    What you ask is impossible. Oracle Forms is designed to interact specifically with the Oracle database. You can access the other tables in the database in an Oracle using Oracle heterogeneous Services database, but right ODBC is no longer supported.

  • Oracle 10g and Informix via DG4IFMX connection

    Ladies and gentlemen,

    I am a newbie to Oracle and I'm trying to connect my Oracle 10 g to a server Informix v.11.
    I did everything as it says in the manual (although many things is not well explained and even not included for example the informix database must have a transaction journal...) and I still have a few problems with the connection.

    I use oracle database gateway to informix (dg4ifmx).

    First of all when I run select * DUAL@dblink I have not a mistake at all, I just get a result X, that is, I realized that everything is well configured in tsnnames, auditor and initdg4ifmx.ora and the link to database.

    But when I write a table exist as select name * to enc_grid@dblink, I get this error:

    The table exists for sure!

    Then I opened the track and I noticed a strange thing. There is an error occurring: error ptr FILE: hgocont.c LINE: 2686 ID:SQLDriverConnect

    When you look at the trace of the gateway, the gateway that is looking for a table called "ENC_GRID".
    Informix tables commonly are case sensitive so please check your select statement, write the table/column names as they are defined in tables/columns Informix datbase and surround names in double quotes.

    For example the enc_grid table contains only letters of less than your Informix database, and then type: select * from 'enc_grid"@dblink;

    Test message failed: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.getLibraryVersionNumber () I

    Please help how I can solve it.

    Kind regards
    Shakur

    First of all, to avoid the UnsatisfiedLinkError you must make sure that the path to the shared library (.dll/.so) is included in your PATH environment variable.

    Secondly, no it does not change the JDev behavior.
