    Hello

One thing you might check is firstly to ensure that the SERVICES' print spooler is started, and bidirectional Support is enabled...  If this does not help, you might have uninstall\reinstall.

The 'print spooler' can be found in the Panel... Administration tools... Services.

To find the bidirectional Support, right click on the printer in devices and printers, select the printer, PORTS tab properties and it will be near the bottom...

If you attempt to reinstall, stop the print spooler, REMOVE your printer from devices and printers and pick up your computer and uninstall the software\drivers.

During the reinstallation, check that the print spooler is disabled... Resettlement should turn it back on... It is supposed to start automatically.

Contacted HP support line.  Apparently, even if my computer is new, he had a lot of viruses on it, causing it to be lazy, etc.  I paid a tax, the computer cleaned by HP online.  Computer works fine now.  I went back to 8.1 for Microsoft.  He suggested that I wait a few months than 10 has been out a while before trying again 10.  Focus on the upgrade of printer to 10 at the time.

  • Computer laptop 13-4193nr x 360 spectrum: when I connect the printer for laptop HP spectrum x 360, Windows 10 treats like CD/DVD-ROM, no printer

I recently bought a laptop convertible spectrum HP 13-4193nr x 360, under Windows 10 Home. When I connect our printer (HP LaserJet P1102w in black and white laser printer) port USB to the laptop, Windows can see the printer and he knows his name correct ("HP LaserJet Professional P1102w"), but does know that the device is a printer. If I go to the Panel and then devices and printers, the printer is displayed in the "Devices" line (with the laptop and the mouse) and not the line 'printers '. If I select the printer entry in the "Devices" line, Windows displays the name of the exact model of the printer, but for the "Category" field, it indicates "optical drive".

How can I tell Windows that this device is a printer and not an optical drive?

    Hi @RHodnett,

I'd be happy to help you install your Laserjet P1102. I understand your description that the computer does not recognize the printer as the printer and instead identifies it as an optical drive. Even if you don't see one of the errors mentioned in the following document, I think that the solutions presented may help you find a solution: Printers HP - "device installation failed" or "unknown device" message during Installation USB (Windows).

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance. If the question is indeed solved, please click Accept as Solution button below. If you need additional assistance, please include any details you think could help me help you and I will do everything I can to help. Thank you.

  • DeskJet F4580: Compatible printer for Windows 10?

After you have installed Windows 10 on my PC I noticed that my printer driver is not compatible, so I did some looking on the Microsoft Compatibility Center and they said that it is compatible for Windows 10. I'm going to support HP driver and search Windows 10 driver for my printer and there was a result for the download of PS_AIO_06_B209a-m_140_408 - 5.exe. Means of PS Photosmart but I went ahead and downloaded and as I thought was not for the Deskjet F4580 even HP it clearly lists under him. I guess HP downloaded the wrong driver and I don't know that there is a driver F4580 for Windows 10 there. But my concern was that the driver for the Deskjet F4580 listed is for a different printer.

Just checked today updates for printer drivers and looks like they downloaded correct. Tested and working. Thank you HP

  • HP LASERJET P1005: HP LASERJET P1005 WILL NOT PRINT FOR WINDOWS UPDATED

The last 2 times that Windows has updated I got problems printing. The first time, I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and also led printing HP and the Scan doctor. No one fixed the problem successfully and I ended up back to before the update.

Now, with a new update, I'm having the same problems. The printer works fine for a couple of jobs and then I get only print error messages.

    Hi @54981 ,

I see that you encounter printing problems after the update of Windows. I'd love to help you.

More likely with the update of Windows is to install a new driver for the printer, what causes this problem.

I would like to remove the updates of Windows on the computer.

Very probably these two KB2982791, KB2970228 updates are the culprits.

You may need to do a system restore to get the printer working again.

I would say to disable automatic updates for Windows, then you can manually go anytime and uncheck that everything related to the printer before performing the updates, so that continue to occur.

    Turn automatic update or disable.

Manual installation of updates of Windows in Windows 7.

Feel free to click on the button under the thumbs up if it helps.

    Have a nice weekend!
    Thank you.

  • Where can I get drivers for my printer for Windows 8 OS iP3300?

I recently bought a new laptop and it came with the Windows 8 operating system.  I can't find drivers for my iP3300 printer.  Much of what I read insists the drivers for Windows 7 installation in "compatibility" mode should work.  After you follow the instructions to install this way, nothing happened. I need help :)

Looks like my first answer was a bit premature :(  Unfortunately, the test page was going well, but when I tried to print a Word document with a jpeg it came out weird.  The photo printed several times on the page and in various combinations of colours, shades of blue to shades of yellow!  My printer is in fact a 3300 and I installed the 3600 series I'm sure that's where things went cross-roads.   Can you help me solve this problem?

    Susie

I would like to buy a new printer that is supported under Windows 8 by its manufacturer.  In view of the possible age of this printer (6 to 7 years possible) and how long the latest drivers were released for it by the manufacturer (March 2010) - it would be cheaper and less frustrating in the long run (and probably in the short term) to buy another cheap, which may equal or faster and perhaps more efficient replacement.

  • Help! Computer connection issues / printer after Windows 7 upgrade

I HOPE THAT SOMEONE HERE CAN HELP ME!  I am frustrated beyond belief.

I have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.  My computer is a hp dv5 pc, 64-bit.  My wireless printer is a hp OfficeJet J4680c.  Before the upgrade, wireless printing was perfect.

Since the upgrade, when I try to print, two things will happen:

    (1) when I try to print, there is a mistake that the document cannot print.

    OR

    (2) when I try to print, the printer icon appears that the document will print, but nothing happens.  When I right click and open the Active printer, it shows that it is "printing", however the number of pages displayed is n/a.  After 2-3 minutes, the document simply disappears from the print screen, as if it printed.

I went through the troubleshooting steps on my hp PC help & support, I have read the forums for hours and tried various fixes, I went through the center of solutions hp printer troubleshooting steps...

The final diagnosis is that the computer is unable to 'find' the printer. Here is some additional information:

I was able to print occasionally during the troubleshooting process (see below for more information)

All the drivers are up to date.

Computer and the printer are connected to the same network wireless in my house.

Whenever I have manually print the "HP Network Configuration Page," it shows that the printer is "ready".

    Windows defender is OFF

    The Windows Firewall is DISABLED

3rd party firewall Vipre has been RUNNING, with the same results to be

What follows can offer anyone a clue as to the problem:

Four times during this process of troubleshooting, I completely uninstalled printer and then reinstalled using the updated driver and instructions on the hp Web site.

Whenever during the installation process, the computer does not find the printer, and I have to manually enter the IP address of the printer.  Then, the computer does not find the printer, and the installation continues.  Until he comes to the end, when it is completed at 98%. Then, I get a message:

"Rediscovery printer detected problems. Maybe your PC is not able to track changes in the online status of your printer. If you use firewall software, make sure the port UDP 427 is unblocked from your printer at 192.168.0.5 for your PC. To resolve the problem, try to feed your printer market. »

(of course checked summer port and the printer power is turned and the...) I followed all steps completely).

Then, I give myself a choice or continue installing the software without connecting to the printer, or to continue with the installation of the printer.

When I tried the first choice, install the software without the printer, then I went back later to install the printer. During the installation of the printer, I'm at the same point at 98%, with the same message.

I also tried to install the printer in any case and it ends up all right, and then the printer worked for a day or two. But after a day or two, I'll be once more cannot print, and I will either receive the error message, otherwise it is not only print (SEE the BEGINNING OF THIS POST).

I've tried everything I know to do and no message forum or troubleshooting is now offering me any new information.

    Can you help me???

Have you tried the 'updates' on this page?  There is a couple who look like they would help.
