  I'd be happy to help you install your Laserjet P1102. I understand your description that the computer does not recognize the printer as the printer and instead identifies it as an optical drive.   My C4580 is connected to my iMac with a USB key.  The iMac is connected to the internet via a wireless router.  I recently bought my daughter a laptop HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit), including wireless.  My daughter connects to the internet through the router wireless set up with a SSID and WEP key.  Currently, I don't have a specific network between two computers.  What I want to do is set up so that my daughter can print wireless from his laptop to the C4580 without disconnecting the iMac.  I need to set up a home network and share the printer?  Can the laptop to send data direct wireless to the printer without losing internet or the iMac lose connection to printer?  Etc, etc, etc...

  Then as you said has given me an idea.  Basically, I have just entered the configuration of the printer on my iMac and entered the WEP key in the printer. So I did it with the USB connection. Once I added the printer to the laptop of my daughter... She now prints a charm are two computers.

  How to print from a laptop (Toshiba, Vista 32-bit) on a HPC6250 USB printer connected to a desktop computer wireless (Dell, Win 7 32/64 bit). My wireless modem is ATT U-Verse.  Printer has USB or ability of ethernet cable but not wireless. The modem is not printer ethernet connection is not viable.

  I activated the such LPD service indicated in your link, but it did not turn. When I sailed through the other answers the last one said to remove the spaces in the name of the shared printer. I did it and it seems to work.

  I'm trying to set up my new printer Officejet 5740 and I got to the stage where I need to connect the printer to a laptop computer or mobile device. I went to 123.hp.com and follow-up stages. My printer is correctly connected to the internet, but when I tried to connect it with my laptop via wifi, I got a screen that says "cannot find a printer". Before that, he asked me to put the IP address that appears in the settings of the printer wireless.

  I have a dual band wireless router, and it seems that my printer can connect only to the 2.4 GHz frequency range. My laptop can connect to the scales of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.   Good news! I thought about it. I have all my wireless settings to reset to the default factory settings and that fixed the problem. Something about the State of the router must have been extinguished when I put in place the first time. Thank you for helping me!

  Assuming that both of your computers are connected to your router, your best option is to connect the printer to the router for all to use.  If you do what you propose, you will only be able to share printing with your new PC laptop and it is difficult to do.

  Read starting on page 33 of the Manual on how to connect your printer to your router.  Basically, connect you to your router via the front of the printer (wireless configuration wizard), then load the software on your PC (from here) by following the instructions for installation "through the network".

• Password to connect the printer to the wireless device

  Nobody knows what the password to default to connect a device like a wireless phone to the PhotoSmart 6525?  Alternatively, how do reset you the password?  I can't find on the touch screen of the printer anywhere.

  Hi draftsman,

  I see that you are looking for a way to find the password or clear to the wireless directly on the Photosmart 6525. I managed to find a way to display the password, if it does not you should be able to restore the default values for the network.

  If you select Wireless > wireless Direct > show password, you should be able to see it there. If this does not work, go to Wireless > network by default. Restore the network default settings erases all settings, allowing you to turn Direct wireless and at this time, you can set a new password or not.

  I have some setting wrong my printer for wireless printing. It has worked well in the past, but with my new macbook air - this isn't.

  I can't access the function where to add the printer to the wireless network (my router does not support WPS so his password WPA).

  I remember setting this up on a PC - easy with the driver provided by HP, but on the Mac, the configuration tool does not appear to be a function where I add the printer to the wireless network - and HP did not provide a driver, because it is supposed to work with the mac built-in software.

  The manual says only: "follow the instructions on the screen", but the printer does not have instructions on how to connect - on-screen tests, only that it is connected...

  I understand that you have a problem to set up all-in-one printer wireless HP Photosmart (B109n) with your new MacBook Air OS x 10.10. I want to help you with this.

  Have you changed your router or your password since the MacBook Air? If this is not the case, your printer can still be connected to the network and the trickiest part of that place will be done for us already.

  We will print a Network Configuration report to see if it is connected:

  • On the Control Panel, press the button next to Scan. The Scan/Wireless menu.

  My pc has been connected to the ethernet to the internet modem and there is also a connected usb printer. I bought a laptop computer and a wireless router so I can use the laptop as such. I'm trying to make sure I can print to the wireless laptop, but the router has only ethernet connections. I found an adapter to change the usb from the printer to ethernet interface, and then you connect that the router, but this does not work either. Any suggestions?

  Probably the printer isn't wireless active.

  You must install the full software features on the site of printer manufacturers, or provided CDs, on the laptop, as well as sharing the printer on the PC its connected to. of course the share will only function if the printer connected PC is running.

  It might have been simpler to have bought a router with usb support :)

  Page 67 begins the section "to connect the printer.  After that connect you the printer to the network successfully, try to use the HP on Chromebook print soft again.

The installation CD supplied with the printer's 6, Win XP, and I don't know if I should be downloading drivers to the computer laptop dm4 and Pavilion PC or just one of the computers?

  For step 4 you have not need must be connected to the printer. As long as the printer is already connected by cable to the router it will be accessible wirelessly on the two computers during the installation of the software.

  Hi, I tried to connect my laptop (Windows 8.1-64-bit) on my printer (HP Deskjet 1050 all-in-One J410 series).  I tried to install the printer using the CD that came with it, but it shows a message "not compatible with this operating system". After reviewing previous questions here, I tried to download the software driver for this printer. None of these files have no effect with some presenting a message saying that the device must already be installed on the laptop for it to open. Anyone able to help?

  Since you have the Mac OSX 10.9.2 from a USB connection to the wireless is a little more difficult, only because there is no complete features of HP software to help us.

  First, you will need to restore the default settings of network on the printer. For that;

  • Press the Wireless on the product
  • Press the button next to the arrow down on the screen until restore network
    Default is highlighted and press OK.
  • Confirm that you want to restore the default settings of the network.
  • Press again the Wireless on the product
  • Press the button next to the arrow down on the screen until Turn Radio One or turn
    Radio Off is highlighted, and press OK. (Radio must be on)

  Now, on your Mac, click the wireless on the left corner ( ) and join hpsetup. Once the Mac is connected to this network, we need on the printer print a test report;

  • Press the Wireless on the product.
  • Press the button next to the arrow down on the display until wireless network
    Test is highlighted, and press OK.
  • Make a note of the IP address

  Open Safari on Mac and enter the IP address in the address bar, a page of the printer should load for you. Click on network > Wireless (802.11) > advanced, which should bring you to this page:

  From there you can enter the SSID of the network you want to connect, enter the WEP or WPA - PSK password and apply the setting. Once the printer is connected to the network, replace the Mac on your network and you should be able to add the printer.
