Connection to the wireless network invites you to connect to the domain

I have an Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista.  I am able to connect it to my router wireless at home without any problems.  When I bring it to another location that is configured in the same way and the attempt to connect to the wireless router, instead of getting the prompt "enter security key or password", I get a domain login prompt.

I connected a number any XP machines to the second router without any problems and can not understand why Vista does not recognize that it is looking at a peer-to-peer network security is enabled instead of a domain.

I put in place the second the same router first, so I know for a fact that no domain controller or server is available.

Someone at - it ideas?

After this attempt, I am still able to connect to my wireless network at home with my laptop, however, I cannot access the internet.

Other computers (macBook, my Galaxy Tablet) have no problem with the wireless network, only the laptop that ran the Setup program.

I restarted the wireless router and my laptop several times. I then unplugged the WRE54G - no difference, Iam not able to access the internet.

  • HOW THE AIRPORT TIME CAPSULE WIRELESS NETWORK IS PROTECTED?

I implemented the airport Time Capsule, using a DSL modem connected to the internet as its bridge.  MacBook Pro was used for initial set up by the bolt of lightning to Ethernet connector and then disconnected and works perfectly.  Now, I would like to use Wi - Fi for my Samsung phone not iOS.  On the Samsung wireless I connect to my home network using a password.  Well, I don't think that a password was never set.  How can I configure my wifi at home to establish a password?   I don't think that the modem settings should enter in solving this for me, but I'll add that the modem required a static IP address be entered for this connection when its router features have been disabled for the connection of bridge.

If the Time Capsule (TC) provides the wireless network, then you can secure it using AirPort Utility, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the TC and then, select change.
    • Select the wireless tab.
    • In the wireless security, select the type of security. I highly recommend that you choose: WPA2 Personal
    • Enter a password in the field password wireless. Enter the same password in the verify password.
    • Select Update.

  • How to connect a USB-wireless printer to a wireless network without PC

Some HP printers do not have a Wizard of wireless configuration integrated into the façade to connect to a network.  These models install to a computer via a USB connection and the software then sends information wireless via the USB cable to the printer.  However, you do not always have a present computer and still need to connect these printers to a wireless network.  You can use a wireless, like an iPad device, to do this.  For the example below, I used an iPad and a printer Deskjet 3510.

The first step is to make sure that your printer is aired at an (Ad Hoc) network.  To do this, turn on the printer and press the wireless or wireless Tower, and then in the Setup menu. Connect the iPad (or other wireless device) to the signal being broadcast by the printer wireless.

Once the iPad is connected to the printer as long as a network connection, open the Web browser on the iPad.  Type 192.168.223.1 in the address bar and go to this site.  Printer status page should load and look like the picture below.

Click the network at the top of the status page.  You can get a quick warning while being redirected to an HTTPS site.  Click Ok in the message box to continue.  When you click OK, you can get a warning about the identity of the server or the certificate.  Select the option that allows you to continue.  The wording can vary from a browser, but there should be an option to continue anyway.

Network status page should now be loaded at this point.  Select Assistant wireless to start the installation of the wireless network and click Next.

When then is selected, it must list the available wireless networks.  Select your network from the list and click Next.  When the network is selected, it should be noted.

Enter the network password if necessary and click Next.

A message should be received indicating the name and if security is enabled.  The message below which must indicate that the settings have been saved successfully.  If it indicates that the settings were saved successfully with an error, the configuration of the network is more than likely operation.  Click Ok at the bottom.

After selecting OK, select status to check that the printer is connected successfully.  It may take a few minutes for light wireless to the printer to stop flashing.  Once it is a solid blue, the printer must be on the network and operation.

Once this is over, then you will be able to reconnect to your wireless (wireless router) normal signal for internet access.  Now, the iPad and the printer are on the same home network.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 recognizes a wireless network; trying to connect but can not

My laptop with Windows 7 detect my home wifi network. I typed in the access code and my computer attempted to connect with him, but it still fails. I ran the store and followed all the steps, he gave me. I unplugged unit, waited 10 seconds, plugged it back in, and represented the resolution of problems, and it came with the message "Windows cannot solve your problem of wireless connectivity."

How can I fix it? If necessary, I can provide more information in the troubleshooting report.

    Hi Mellodramatikk,

-You receive an error message after you type in the access code?

You can try to start your computer in safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the wireless network.

. To boot to the desktop in safe mode with network keep tapping key F8 during restart. Once you see the option to start it in safe mode with select network and press ENTER.

Access the link to learn more about how to start the computer in safe mode:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Also, check if you have any third party security installed on your computer and try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and try to connect to the wireless network. If you are able to connect to the wireless network after you disable the security software, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.

Post back with the above information and let us know the result.

  • Satellite L500-13z - Windows 7 does not recognize wireless network adapter

    Hello

The Windows 7 RC Device Manager does not recognize my wireless network adapter (for example: Atheros, Intel or Realtek). I tried to install all the Toshiba support drivers, but none of them work:

After installation, they ask me to connect the unit to my computer (of course it is still on the motherboard!).

=>, Is there a way to know what is my Wifi adapter?

that one failed: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD7201PO000SR01.htm (this is the only Word to say "network adapter" with a yellow exclamation point).

-Online someone knows when will be released Windows 7 drivers on the website?

    Hello

Before you begin to install all drivers WLAN you can find on the Toshiba site you must make sure that wireless network card, you have exactly. You can check in the Device Manager-online properties-online Details of the local network adapter device.
Need you an information like PCI\VEN_XXXX & DEV_XXXX

If you have based this information you are looking for with these terms on this site in order to determine the exact WLAN card:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

After that, you can download the driver appropriate for your laptop. Before installing, you must uninstall all other versions and restart the laptop.
Also, make sure that the WIFI is enabled with the hardware switch and FN + F8.

  • Equium M40X and a wireless network

    Hey all,.
Just got my new satellite Notebook and when I try to connect to my home wireless network, I can handle only communicate with limited connectivity or not (it cannot refresh the IP either).

I am positive its nothing to do with the network because all my other computers work well.

I have all the right passwords and as far as I can tell all my setting are correct, I tried the internal wireless adapter and an external both without success.

Can anyone offer no indication to this problem?

    -Steve

    Hello

Your problem is very strange for me. Usually, if you are able to make any kind of connection, which means that the WLAN, card functionality is OK and there may be a problem with the WLAN settings.

As far as I know, it can happen that there are periodical performance decreases with the wireless network card you have, but it should not happen with an external. If you have the same problem with two different cards, there are some wrong settings.

It is not easy to explain what can be the problem.

  • Satellite Pro L510 cannot access my wireless network

The laptop recognizes wireless networks are available but requires a 'logon domain' with my user name and password.
Where can I find the logon domain? What is it?

    Hi mate

I don't know how you are trying to connect to the WLAN, but generally you n t need no user to connect to the WLan router password.

You need, it's the right SSID (wireless network name), Wlan encryption right and good WiFi encryption password.

First of all, ensuring that the WiFi network has been successfully activated!
Key combination to select Wlan using FN + F8!
Also read the manual of use of laptops for more details how to enable the Wlan!

Then, you must configure the Wlan router every router supports a configuration different procedure but normally you should always have a manual with your router.
There should be a step by step instruction how configure it!

  • Linksys WRT54G2 router: I can't guarantee or remove unsecured wireless network

    1. never use the default SSID "linksys". You should also do a unique SSID. If not, try your computer to connect to the router from your neighbor instead of your.

    2. Windows remembers wireless networks. You must remove the old unsecured network in the preferred networks list to get rid of him. After securing the wireless, you do not "have unsecure Linksys network. It's just that see Windows network called "linksys" and shows that all saved with this SSID wireless networks.

So, the problem isn't the router or that a computer "picks up" a signal not secure (except even once, you really another router linksys with the default settings in the district), but the computer has a list of networks, he knows and shows that.

Remove all linksys (SSID linksys) networks in the list of favorite networks on all of your computers. Make sure you set up a unique SSID instead and ensure that. That should do it.

If the computers still captures a unsecure linksys network after you clear the list of preferred networks, it may be a different router. Unplug your router to power. Then again search for networks in the neighborhood. If the linksys appears again (probably with a weaker signal than before) is not your router.

  • How to check who is using my wireless network?

I just want to be sure that no one is using my wireless network... I know I did a password to get access to it, but is their way to check if its working?

In addition, when I went under network settings

I found something that is called gateway residential... don't remember really see it, but when I go in there, it shows something called teredo... and it has an IP different than my router... no idea what it could be?

Disabling Wireless SSID Broadcast will arrange this?  making it not visible by anyone but me?

If you are using WPA or WPA2 and a strong password, nobody is your wireless network, except you.  Anyone who has the skills, computer power supply, time and determination to break into such a system is busy breaking in banks, not your home router.   Then don't worry about this.

You can check that your router is using WPA or WPA2 and your password by:

    (1) connecting your router 192.168.1.1 and ranging in the wireless section and check that the WPA or WPA2 encryption is turned on and that your password is entered.

    (2) you can check that the router is working by connecting wireless using the password.

    (3) you can check that you have connected to your router first getting a wireless Internet connect, then unplug your router and check that the Internet suddenly not working.

"teredo tunneling" is a way to move to IPv6 info from an IPv4 router.  Don't worry about this.

Do not "SSID Broadcast" set to 'off '.  With modern methods of piracy, that old thing of security is now worthless.  Furthermore many wireless adapters have problems connecting to routers that broadcast their SSID not, so it might cause you problems of network.   If you are using WPA or WPA2 and a strong password, who cares if someone sees your SSID?   Without your password, they cannot connect wirelessly to your router.

I mean, strong password, at least 24 characters random, including uppercase, lowercase and numbers.  Although I recommend 24, or 12 is almost impossible to crack.

  • Wusb54g v2 - problem with Linksys Wireless Network Monitor Software

I have a card Linksys USB wireless (WUSB54Gv2) that is currently used with an old HP Desktop running Windows XP Service Pack 3.

I also have a Linksys Wireless PCI Adpater (WMP54Gv4.1) that is currently used with an old Dell desktop running Windows XP.

I have a wired and wireless home network... My broadband provider is Verizon FIOS; I use their supplied router because the coaxial cable that provides the internet connection plugs only into their wireless router, not in a modem and a router. I have an encryption key for 128-bit WEP on the side of the network wireless; It is even once managed via the Verizon FIOS router via a web browser (like most routers).

Two other computers I own are a desk custom-made to date with a direct link to the Verizon router and a laptop from Apple. These two computers are NOT having internet connectivity problems.

I've updated to the latest drivers for my USB adapter and the car PCI.

    ---

    Here's my problem:

When I try to connect to the internet using the Wireless Network Monitor software provided by Linksys, computers, I can connect to the "access point", but not internet. This product only when I don't have the key WEP 128 bits in place, when security is disabled.

If I right click on the Wireless Network Monitor icon in the taskbar and select "Use Windows XP Wireless Configuration", enter my network through windows manually information (including the WEP key), I can connect to the internet perfectly.

However, when I restart or stop two PC, the Linksys Wireless Network Monitor reactive software itself, where it automatically attempts to connect to the internet, but fails, after which I right click on the icon of the monitor again and select «Use Windows XP...» "and then I connect to the internet.

Is anyway to disable the Linksys continuously monitor software WITHOUT uninstalling the software or drivers? (I tried this; Windows cannot use or recognize the network adapter).

    ---

I might just re - activate the Setup Wireless Windows XP every time I close / restart, but other users of PCs on my network (my family) are exceptionally illiterate computer/network and would not be able to learn how to do whenever they want to connect. There is very little practice.

If there is a way to solve this situation, please help! If all goes well there are other solutions I am open to suggestions.

I must emphasize that our Apple laptop connects fine when the WEP key is set.

Once more, looking for quick help!

    Thank you advance!

Remove the Linksys adapter and uninstall the Linksys software menu programs... Re - install drivers insert the CD of Linksys install in your CD-ROM drive, when the welcome is displayed click on exit, connect your USB adapter now... When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click on install the software automatically (recommended) and then click Next... Click Finish when the installation is complete.

NOTE: The hardware installation screen may appear indicating that the adapter has failed the Windows Logo test. Ignore the window and click on continue to continue the installation because the adapter has been tested and it works with Windows XP. When Windows has finished installing the driver, click Finish.

Click Start and open the control panel and double-click on network connections. Right click on wireless network connection, and then select view available wireless networks "-If you see your network wireless in the list, the highlight by clicking 'single' on it now, click on the 'Connect' button below-if your wireless network is secured, it asks you to provide the network key - provide the wireless network key and confirm again in the confirmation box and click 'Connect'." It should work...

  • Wireless network does not work when I put a password

Well actually, I use a wireless network at home, and when I try to put a password, it won't let me connect to the internet, but my xbox connect when there is a password there and other laptops don't. When I try to connect by using a non-secure network it connects to the internet, but on any other laptop but mine it asks me to set up the connection, while on my laptop, it goes straight to a connection.

If you guys can offer me a solution to this problem, I would be very grateful

    Hi Sh4dow,

You can check out the following link and check if it helps:

    View your preferred wireless networks

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/view-your-preferred-wireless-networks

You can also temporarily disable the security software and firewall installed on the system and check if the problem persists. If this resolves the problem, then you may need to update or change the settings of the security software.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Hope this information is useful.
