Connection via extremely slow Listener

Hi gurus,

I had problems with the opening of connections at the base. The specifications of the machine of DB are OK and the use of resources appears to be low. However, whenever I try to connect to the database in the morning, it takes more five minutes to connect if you try to connect locally or remotely.

Sessions parameters and processes are great, the listener.log file also has not reached 2 GB so the log size is not a problem. I have however noticed that if you connect locally to the database without using the AMT connect descriptor, it connects instantly without any problems. So, I think there may be a network problem. There is nothing conclusive on the follow-up files either, no error is reported in the files. The workload on the server and the number of users accessing the system is the same.

The only thing I noticed is that the server you have designated as the gateway on the network settings was not running, could have an impact on the listener?
Encounter the error, I decided to re - route traffic to a different DB server (which isn't having the problem of the listener), when I did, she also started getting extremely slow response, the front door on the second server is identical to the front door on the main server. So, I would ask if gateways on the network adapters have an impact on the functioning of the listener.

Edwin

PS the DB is a database of Oracle 11.1.0.7 on Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL5 x 64)

There may be much reason this problem network viz, oracle, os etc. However the first thing I will check (had the similar problem in the past with AIX) - is the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora is configured with the Ip/hostname address.
If the host name, make sure of course correct entries are in the file entries and hostnames server is correct in /etc/resolv.conf (can be different in other flavours on unix).

  • [X 230] Extremely slow wireless connection

    Hi all

I just received my brand new X 230. The problem is as indicated in the heading "wireless connection is extremely slow.

I got my old SL300 of 4 years at the side of my X 230. When I test the speed to broadband, my SL300 yields 6 MB/sdownload and 1. 6 mb/s upload. However, my new gives a super speed reduced to 0.3 mb/s and 1.1 MB/s. So I think that my problem has nothing to do with my router.

I've already put my setting of the adapter wireless for maximum performance (power options > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > wireless adapter settings > power save mode > maximum power output). But it does not solve the problem.

    Here's my X 230 Specifications:

    any guy insight

    Thank you

    Hi Ibrahim.

My first suggestion to you is to follow the recommendations of Cisco, associated with latency problems.

    hostname (config) #-group attributes policy
    hostname (config-Group-Policy) #webvpn
    hostname (config-group-webvpn) select #svc dtls
    hostname (config-group-webvpn) #svc df-bit-ignore enable
    hostname (config-group-webvpn) #svc routing-filtering-ignore enable
    hostname (config-group-webvpn) mtu #svc 1200
    hostname (config-group-webvpn) #svc compression no

(a more recent version, you can use the command "anyconnect" instead of "svc")

If after this the problem persists please let me know when is the right time to reproduce the problem and collect the balls, debugs and catches. I also need the current configuration of the SAA (see technology in a txt file)

    Kind regards

  • Convert a physical box 2003 Server vm and the VM is extremely slow. Trying to connect again...

Convert a physical box 2003 Server vm and the VM is extremely slow. Trying to connect again...

This is my first time converting a physical box to virtual. This is Server 2003. The conversion took place and I try to connect to the box now but it's so slow. Currently, he sat to apply personal settings for almost 10 minutes.

My boss has converted physical to virtual several times before and never said that he ran into something like this.

Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

I think that it is always looking for active directory. the newly P2V'ed will operate all IP settings. Therefore, you will need to wait until it has expired, and then enter the IP that is (ip, dns and etc.) above. the other way to speed things up would be to disconnect your network and the thing that your OS to expired immediately.

  • Extremely slow printing wireless with HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m

I see extremely slow print speeds when printing from a Mac or a Windows XP system on a new printer HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m wireless. The printer starts printing immediately when I request a print, but it only prints one line. It will take about 15 minutes then to print the rest of the page, each print after a very long break line. Print demo page doesn't exhibit this problem, only documents of programs such as Word 2008, Safari, and Firefox (I tried firefox on PC and Mac) are affected.

If I connect to the printer via a USB connection it prints very well, so this problem seems to be the only wireless printing.

    Printer: HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m
Computer: Mac mini (late 2009 model) (also tried a Windows XP laptop, by comparison using the latest drivers from the HP website)
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 with all available updates installed
Method of connection: cable Ethernet connection to the router wireless
Printer drivers: version 2.2.1 (Apple provided, drivers HP never installed as system comes with 10.6)
Wireless router: Apple TimeCapsule (early 2009) 1 TB, honing a/d and modes of b/g on 2.4 and 5 GHz. TimeCapsule is in transition as the DSL modem handles DHCP service mode
Encryption: WPA2 Personal, no MAC filtering or hide the SSID.

IP addressing scheme: all addresses are distributed by the server DHCP without reservation of any kind

The TimeCapsule is sitting three inches from the printer and the printer indicates the complete signal. Connecting the printer to the wireless network and setup of the printer on the Mac went off without a hitch. Only when you print a test document discover us the problem. The wireless network will behave as expected when you access Internet from Mac and Windows devices (tested with a laptop computer Dell XP and a MacBook with OS X 10.6.2), so I don't see any problem with the wireless network together.

    Attempt to use:
1 reboot and power off, wait, restart the computer
2 reset the print subsystem, the printer off and on again and reinstall the printer

    3. disconnect the power to the printer and let it sit for several minutes before trying to print wireless.

    None of them worked.

I don't know exactly what is happening... I'll have to think about.

Looks like you're running with the current configuration.

    Can we call this resolved?

  • Sharing network of Windows 7 64-bit problem: other machines may very well write, but the readings are extremely slow.

I tried to access to the shared both directory a Vista and XP machine via cable connections and wireless to my Win 7 64 bit machine on the part and it is extremely slow to read, but not written.  Not only the directory never takes show all thumbnails, and then open a file that is a couple mb in size as a photo takes more than a minute.  However, if I try to write the same file sharing, it takes only 5 seconds.  This fine all worked until I went from the version release candidate for the final version a few weeks ago.  Shared directories exist on another partition for the relocation does not have their effect.

Maybe it helps diagnose the problem... I just make a copy of a picture of 4 MB on the part of win 7 on my win xp desktop and it took about 1 minute.  I renamed the file on my desktop and tried to write to the share and it took 5 seconds .  Now, it's strange.  So, this is the bed that would take forever.  The Scriptures are fine, which also explains why my nightly backups on the part of win7 are very good.

I have a machine to hit the share by using the name of the computer and the other using the ip address.  Both show the same problem...

I also tried to access files using a mapped network drive.

I can take a 4 MB file and just copy it on my local desktop and it takes about a full minute.  However, written the same file or even another file of the same size as the part only takes about 5 seconds.

I ran the Windows 7 network troublshooter last night and used the troubleshooter for incoming connections and he says that it found a problem but that he could not fix and he really had nothing to help me.  But I think he sent the information in Microsoft... not sure.  Next time, I'm at home, I'll run again and try to put all the gross results that I could not understand in this thread.

I've also updated my driver for the network card and redone permissions and actions several times.  The only thing that I can also say that something can highlight, it is that when I was using the RC of windows 7, I don't have this problem at all.  It was my first installation of Windows 7.  I reinstalled from the final version and all of these files already exist on another partition on the same drive.  I just had to move my public and directories user space on the D: partition and share everything.  Maybe the new facility with something on the existing structures of the file works well with the new facility of the former?  But this does not explain why a new directory and file that create displays the same behavior.  I'm thinking out loud a bit to see if it helps that anyone think that anything...

    I thought about it!

At least for me, it was a setting in the Advanced tab of the network adapter.  I have a Realtek Gigabit network card and one of the places must have been missed incorrectly.

I changed the 2 following settings to "disabled", and he immediately started working very well.

    Disabled IPv4 Checksum Offload
People with disabilities large send Offload (IPv4)

I have a suspicion that among recent updates of Microsoft for this driver he missed bad... but it was this or the latest driver from Realtek.

    Update:

In other research I have narrowed it down to make it just the Large Send Offload value.  Is located on "activated" whenever I update the driver Realtek to the latest version.  If I then go and set it to "Disabled", everything works fine.

  • Download of virtual machine using extremely slow browser data store

    Hello

Why download VM files totalling nearly only 8 GB in vSphere Client v4.1.0 (from 4.1.0 ESXi) via a Gigabit LAN would take more than 1800 minutes (30 hours)? Well now after about 5-10 minutes to download, it is said 1560 minutes but still, why is it so slow? I thought that perhaps is that the estimated time remaining is miscalculated, but this isn't the case. The download is just extremely slow.

Not only that but vSphere Client (VpxClient.exe) constantly uses 25-45% of my cycles while all CPU's do the downloading of files. This slows down the PC I am running vSphere Client. The local network on the server and the client connections are Gigabit too.

UPDATE: download time now has increased up to 1924 minutes back and it becomes difficult to use my PC for e-mail in Outlook, etc. because vSphere Client seems to use as many cycles CPU.

UPDATE 2: 2 hours for download via vSphere Client and remaining time jumped up to 2287 minutes. I'm going to cancel and try to download via the web browser interface.

    See the attached screenshots.

    Thank you

  • Extremely slow download for the El captain

Hi did anyone know why El download Captain is still extremely slow - I mean it makes sense, while he was in high demand but now *?

I have a fiber optic symmetric 250/250 and at the beginning of the download connection, everything seems smooth, no estimated that about 30 min download time, then to about 300 MB, things are * upward. And the loading screen does move, it is estimated to take about 2 days to download. I tried 3 different times, 2 times today and there is a time in 3 days.

It is quite frustrating and I think to keep yosemite now.

Try to download it in safe mode, or another admin account.

  • Extremely slow on my Satellite Z930 - 15 X

    Hello

Here is my problem (sorry for my English):

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Z930 15 X.

For several weeks, it is very very slow. If eco or normal mode, it is still slower than the eco mode. * Even without running any program *. When I look at the Task Manager, everything is ok and fluid.

    Is this a hardware problem?
I also noticed that the fan works far more often than the first months of use, even with just an open word document.

The only solution I found is to restart the computer.
After each restart, it is fast as usual, but only for a short period. But at one time or another, the extreme slowness often returns after a break.

    * I also noticed that it often occurs after a suspension or the connection / disconnection of the laptop from the AC outlet.*

(I said I have a few programs installed and no trace of virus and other software malicious (I'm very careful about that)).

Have you had this problem, where it comes from, what can I do?

    Thank you!

    Hello

On this virtual path, it is not easy to tell what exact reason. To be honest I don't think that there is a hardware problem. Fact is that many background processes can slow down the performance of s for laptop. Perhaps some context downloads and installation of the update may be reason your laptop reacts quite slow.

Please check the commissioning and disable all unnecessary applications. If you do not use some of them, they should not start with Windows and run in the background. Also check Windows update option. Turn off automatic updating.

If please do first and check if the laptop runs a little faster.
    Please post comments.

  • Toshiba STOR. E basics 1 TB - extremely slow

    Hello

I recently bought this Toshiba STOR. E basics 1 TB USB 3.0 HDTB110EK3BA and it's extremely slow, taking already about 48 h for a copy of less than 100 GB.
I am formatting it Mac Os more and using a Mac Book Pro with USB3

    Why is this happening?

    Thank you
    BR / Javi

    Why data transfer is slow?
Who knows there are several reasons for this, you will need to check some things just to get a response for this

Fact is that this HARD drive supports the USB 3.0 standard.
This means that the HARD disk works with USB 3.0 performance (~ 130 MB/s)

Still is it HARD USB 3.0 drive needs more energy than the common USB 2.0 HDD.
900mA needs of USB 3.0, USB 2.0 HARD drive must 500mA
That is why its recommended to connect the HARD drive to two USB 2.0 ports using the USB Y cable.

However the speed of data transmission can be limited to the laptop (chipset).
Maybe your internal HARD drive provides more performance for transmitting data to the external HARD drive.

I read some tests on this HARD drive, and many users got the great performance.
With the help of USB 2.0 ports: 31.8 MB/sec in writing; 31.5 MB/s read
    using USB 3.0 ports: 105,45 MB/sec in writing; 108,89 MB/s read

I recommend you install Disk as ATTO Benchmark tools to check performance using another computer.

  • Satellite Pro L500 - wireless connection is very slow and unstable

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro L500 a couple of weeks (Windows 7 and Realtek 8191SE). I have no problem connecting to public networks, but I can't use it at my place, where I have a broadband cable connection.
The strange thing is that, in the same room, I have no problem with my old A105 Satellite (Windows XP).

It is also very strange the fact that, even if the signal is good, sometimes excellent, the connection is very slow and unstable (it disconnects when I try to browse the Internet).

    I have already tried:

    -Update the Realtek drivers.
    -Disconnect the firewall;
-Modification of the properties of the Realtek card.

Maybe it's a problem with the software or, on the contrary, with the material?

    Thank you!
    Poncet

    Hi Patrick,

If you can connect to public networks correctly, I think that this problem is related to your router at home. So I would recommend updating the firmware on your router. You can get it on the page of manufactured goods.

Also try to disable WLAN encryption and MAC address filtering.

By the way: you can access the Internet at home via a cable connection?

    Hello

I just bought an Equuim P40 - when I connect to wireless broadband, the reception is very good but is extremely slow when it comes to load the pages of the internet - any suggestions on how to remedy this?
    Thank you!

    Hello

It's not easy to say why the notebook loads page s Web slowly.
For the most part, Web sites load slowly due to the amount of data.
If pages use flash animations or there is a big traffic on Web sites, the service could be overworked and loads of slower sites.

If the antivirus software is activated and control each transfer of data the sites could also loads slowly.

As you can see, several factors can affect the loading of the page!
