• EOP print server

  I installed the print server role EOP on a Windows 2012 R2 Print Server. When I try to add printers EOP in vWorkspace management console, I get to the point where you add the EOP printer and select it network printer is displayed with just the Microsoft Windows network. I tried to expand the network of Micorsoft Windows but nothing happens. I tried to disable the firewall to ensure that nothing has been blocked. I also installed printers on this server and they do not present either. No idea why I do not see a my network printers?

  What you need to do, is turn on and start the computer browser service on the computer running the vWorkspace Management Console.

  It is normally enough - in a few minutes, he should have found your print server.

  Otherwise, enable and start the service on your print server computer browser too and install vWorkspace here too - Management Console run the Console here and this will certainly find printers.

  The EOP printer driver is installed when you install the Terminal Server improvements or PNTools on VDIs.

  You have 3 main types of EOP printer redirection.

  1. you have redirection on the Client side.

  It is enabled in the settings of AppPortal/Web site. It will redirect printers that are present on the Client and make them appear in the session remotely.

  There is need of something more installed.

  2 management Console assigned universal printers.

  To do this, the EOP print server role must be installed on your existing network print server.

  This allows you to vWorkspace Management Console allows you to assign printers (you assign them with the same flexibility of managed applications as meaning that they can be assigned to users, groups, instruments, point targets etc.)

  3. relay EOP Print Site remote

  To use this option, it must be installed at each remote site.

  This strengthens the option 2. You can use it for users at a remote site connected to an RDSH/VDI in a central office can still print on their sites printers without using all of the available bandwidth. We are talking about a reduction up to perhaps 10% of the normal printing.

• vWorkspace AppPortal Desktop Integration does not start

  I'm trying to accomplish to publish applications published to the user's desktop / Start Menu on their VDI machines. Inside of a VDI machine, I installed bit vasclient32 and during the installation I checked the box, automatically integrated with Desktop, unfortunately it didn't happen at all. Even the search for AppPortal Desktop Integration inside the VMs VDI but I nothing shows up.

  Any help to accomplish this please?

  I solved this requirement by the presence of an AppPortal must be installed on the Machine of VDI model as

  • Office of Integrated Mode
  • Do the AppPortal in starting the Machine of model VDI
    
  • Configure the Connector Configuration in vWorkspace to use the Cache Mode of credentials. (So this will allow the user at the time where as it connected to a Machine of VDI, the AppPortal will launch and ask the interior/exterior configuration.) When the user selects the inside it will automatically connect to the Farm vWorkspace
  • Configure the connector - Office integrated to allow the shortcut on Client
    • Desktop
    • Start menu
    • Start menu / program
  • In each managed Application - under user experience, integrated - Office check you select where the shortcut is available.
    • Desktop
    • Start menu
    • Start menu / program
  • Under the user experience - Select window maximize use vWorkspace transparent window Mode

  The idea of this to provide a flawless application to any user especially in the office shared. I do not know this is the way correct to do so, or not, but most important it works which will allow me to reduce the number of VMs of office persistent I need for each user having different types of applications.

  It may be useful to others, any point or suggestion / recommendation, please feel free to add.

  Test vWorkspace 8, I find some problems with EOP redirected printers. Assigned by the broker network printers work, but I can't get local printers redirected with EOP. Same config and models that previously work in vWorkspace 7.6.

• Windows not vWorkspace connector via Config.xml

  I have configure config.xml to access android connector to my farm. VWokspace android app, I'm able to download config.xml file and load my closed setting. But I'm trying to connect to my farm every time I get the error message "there is currently no available connection server to process the logon request" that i believe that the problem of authentication with the domain controller.

  I put my domain name correctly and I have also a problem while accessing my (external) web access page. No matter what step I'm missing here?

  When you use the AppPortal you can easily create an internal as external connection affecting, however, for mobile devices like tablets and Smartphones, it is probably easier to simply set up the connection as a external route to make things easier.

  If you are using vWorkspace 8.5 you can now configure settings dynamic config.xml according to the OS device and a number of other variables, you can learn more on this subject in details on the presentation of the management of the connector to [View:documents.software.dell.com/DOC262859:550:0].

• EOP printer should not be default, possible?

  We have activated EOP printer for the userers who access it via the Web portal remotely or at home.

  EOP printer works fine, when they connect to the default printer home House is also a default printer in the vdi.

  but when the user returns to the office a login to the computer thinclient there is any printer by default, but not the one he loves.

  We have therefore no logon script to set the printer def. the user makes by himself. And a logon script would not work if it at home and at the office.

  So I'm looking for the ability to use the eop printers, printers must be connected, but not as default printer.

  is this possible? Otherwise > Feature Request

  I use the following settings on my VDI and it works perfectly.

  

  This always creates all printers, but it does not change which printer is the default.

• AppPortal error: remote access to the server is not enabled

  I'm lost on this one.

  Using the full client of AppPortal on a Win7 64 bit machine (version 8.0 of the customer)

  Double-click the icon, download authenticated - published applications show, then double click a published application, the end user receives:

  Remote access to the server is not enabled.

  This happens only on a single computer

  From this profile of users on the given computer I can MSTSC on the same server without problem

  The error also follows the profiles on the given computer.

  I have closed the Antivirus and Windows Firewall and still can not get this to work.

  Even uninstalled and reinstalled the client.

  From my computer, I can easily log in as this user.

  Customers get automatically configured through an XML file.

  After installation, I tested this laptop and he always gave the same error.

  I ended up him to give me the phone for a few hours.

  Uninstalled the version that was there (build 8.0.0.forget) and scoured the Windows Explorer for all left overs (a little here and there in user profiles and delete).

  Then scoured the registry for expressions; vWorkspace, Quest Software and Provision Networks and remove all instances

  Reinstalled all THE SUCCESS with the new connector to our servers (8.0.306.1427)

• Cannot connect to the farm with AppPortal

  We are unable to connect to the RDSH farm with connector windows (Portal of the app). We use vWorkspace 8 and the error won't happen on windows connector. Majority of customers are customers with WyseThinOS light wyse with integrated connector vworkspace, and from there everything works fine.

  But on windows we are able to connect to the farm, user that gets a list of published applications, but when they try to start nothing happen. It just displays the session starts, this race forever. After killing this user 'login window' get the error:

  We are trying with the version of the connector: 8.0.306.1167 and 8.0.306.1427

  In addition, sessions rdp to RDSH work OK.

  Hi Robert,.

  In the settings of your AppPortal you have enabled in the Firewall/Proxy section Proxy Server Traversal. If this option is enabled and a power of Attorney is not configured, then this might affect your ability to connect.

• Restrict the vWorkspace client connector version

  are there opportunities for the version of the client for users? For example, I want all users are able to connect via vworkspace connector 7.6.xx and when they try to connect with another version, they should get an error message and a hint of an update. Is this possible?

  Option 1 is the only website.

  Option 2 works

  Option 3 will work if you set your complete Client to get through the SSl gateway (this option is under Actions |) Manage connections | Firewall/Proxy Traversal. Enable RDP over SSL/TLS)

  If that is not set or not (for example, it is an internal user) people will not hit the SSL gateway so they have everything straight through.

  You can configure AppPortal via a Config.xml file and choose "Hide settings" for this would force them out the door. However, if you suddenly start to send all your internal users through the gateway, you will find that the overal experience is slower, so option 2 is the best.

  If option 2 is used correctly, they get all the Apps at all.

  As an idea, you can assign a single application to all older clients that has the name «please update your connector vWorkspace»

• Update of the EOP print server

  Hi all

  I have currently an EOP print server is running 32-bit Windows Server 2003. I was wondering the best way to go about the installation of a new Microsoft Server 2008 R2 64-bit server to replace the current server.

  If I create a new server ready to go. I could do the following:

  1. judgment of the old print server for decommissioning.

  2. rename the 2008 Server to have the same name.

  3 install the EOP.

  This then go and install all printers again on this new server without me needing to do more work? Or would it be better to have 2 print servers for the print server 32-bit for the guests of Session of Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) and 1 64-bit print server for Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit) Session guests?

  Assuming that you have shared printers installed on your Print Server 2003, you will need to create the same actions on your new server. VWorkspace installation of print server will not migrate print drivers or action.

  I would like to enlighten you with the fact that there are a few old existing devices and if you want to run in compatibility mode in Windows 7 environment outside the execution of each individual query, what we can do is to install Windows XP mode. Some USB devices in a Virtual Machine (VM) are:

  • Printers
  • Flash memory sticks
  • External hard drives
  • Webcams and digital cameras
  • Smart cards

  WVPC uses the Redirection Policy Manager (RPM) of the windows to provide USB redirection in a Virtual Machine. It loads another driver instead of the original driver to redirect the device to a virtual machine. WVPC creates a host controller virtualized in the Virtual Machine that is available using a channel of Bus of VPC.

  Following diagram shows the difference between the normal USB architecture and architecture of Virtual USB:

  

  Note: You might have had your automatic updates "turned on" on the Windows XP mode environment and this is the reason why the resulting virtual driver automatically installed.

  No, it's all the sense of the guest network... not the LAN access... in the case otherwise you may as well give them full access. Once they access the system printer and music they can access everything.

• Problem with smart connector

  Hi all

  I use my iPad Pro for a while now with the smart connector. Today, however, I noticed that the Smart keyboard did not respond to my entry and I kept getting the error message "This accessory is not supported by this device."

  When took a glance t the smart connector on my iPad I noticed some discoloration, almost as if it was burned. Can someone please help me understand how or why this might have happened? He never fell into the water or something else besides.
