  I downloaded my sim contacts on my pearl 9105, but if I get a text from one of them the phone does not recognize the number.   It could be one of the three solutions... Try these:
  1. make sure that you set your own code to the Dialer phone screen > Options > smart dialing.
  Set your country Code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
  * In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

  2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.
  * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

  3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
  OS5 devices: look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no
  OS6 devices: Home screen > Options > Security > encryption > uncheck encrypt.

  My 9000 does not illuminate. The red light turns on and stays on for about 1 minute.

  Then the screen goes to white battery with a red 'X' through it.

  I've tried other types of accumulators that have been verified to be good with the same results.

  I tried other chagers of wall with the same results.

  I have repeatedly let the phone charge for several hours, removed the battery and replaced after a few moments with the same results.

  This problem started after the battery became very impoverished after leaving the phone on mode bedside from one day to the next. The phone worked without any problems up to this point. It is about 2 1/2 years.

  All my contacts are on the phone and not have been backed up or saved on the sim card.

  Anyone have any suggestions to turn the phone so that I can download at least my contacts?

  Given what you describe, I assume there to be hopeless... nothing can get your BB to start considering what you describe. And all the tips recovery remaining would erase the own BB in the context of the recovery, and your data will be lost. It seems to me that, whatever happens, this old adage applies to you:

  • There are two types of computers of users of devices - those who have lost data and those who will be

  I fear that you are about to migrate from the latter to the former. Backups, quite simply, are not an optional activity.

  Let us know if you want some of the radical of the recovery tools (destruction of data) to try...

  Hello.  I have a torch 9800.  I was texting last night and my password has worked well.  Then all of a sudden I couldn't connect.  I tried the SIM card in an another blackberry and it was fine.  ATT have me try a SIM unlock access code and it changed nothing.  I'm sure it's the phone, but don't know how to fix it.  I am to 8/10 unsuccessful login.   I saw that you can reset if it spends more than 10 (but will lose all your info).  How do reset you?  Thank you!

  It certainly looks like the user created password locking device... only it will work. It can be a subtle thing to use keyboard... alt, sym, caps, etc. Or the keyboard can be somehow not in the correct state. A batt pull reboot can reset the keyboard to a normal state by default and allows you to enter your password as usual. But, again, be careful... only 2 chances left.

  As I said, it is only useful if you've done it before... If you have never done before in this way, you know maybe actually not quite what the exact password characters are (according to alt, caps, sym, use etc.).

  After the failure of 10th, the BB will wipe clean, including the removal of the password. It will be like it was when you first received it... Nice and new, with nothing about all things created by the user at all.

  Hi, earlier, I downloaded an upgrade to the blackberry app world and after downloading it asked me to restart, I clicked restart now, but the phone has not returned and the bar on the screen to restart is blocked in about 2/3 full and did nothing for the last 2 hours. is there anything I can do to recover my phone on?

  You cannot prevent the glitches.

  However, you can make it less painful with regular backups of your device using the BlackBerry Desktop Software and/or BlackBerry Protect, so that if you have a loss of data or failure of device, you all ready to restore again.

  Hello.

  Yesterday, I upgraded my poynt app, which seems to have causes all types of problems with my phone.

  (1) my email account icons have all disappeared, although it recognizes new messages, I can't access it.

  (2) the device does not allow me to access my texts all the time as well, and I get errors such as:

  Eception exception: application_net_rim_bb_message_app (231) does not.  I had the same message with several different numbers.

  I also have java.null messages, even if it is rare and I don't remember the exact error.

  (3) desktop manager cannot access the device, it does not allow me to backup my data.

  (4) I tried to reload the os, and applications but it fails because it cannot back up data...

  I'm lost and can't seem to find help on the net for this, and at this point, I want to just wipe the slate and start over from scratch.  Maybe completely reload the software or something.  I have most of my contact information on my sim card from my previous phone, data loss would be minimal...

  can someone help me please understand what to do.

  hard battery pull did not.

  Installed apps and their version if possible.  I have several apps installed:

  Poynt, bloomberg, score, xenozu, facebook, bablphone, CBS Spanish football, dictionary.com, anchor.  all are the latest versions, except for some reason any phone does not recognize that I have the latest version of home.

  but the last poynt update caused this, and I have already deleted poynt.

  Thanks for your help.  So a question I had was that my camera was unable to save all the data, and therefore loader did not work properly.  I read somewhere that you can stop the car to the top, did this and reloaded the new os.  I think that things are finally working

  Yesterday October 3 at about 13:30 my Blackberry Bold 9900 has just undergone a total failure, no warning at all. I went to use the telephone and he was quite dead. Before he was about 60% battery life.   I got my phone completely backed up a month ago.  I can't wait until Android Blackberry phones are available.  My question - is anyway I could get my backup information from the Blackberry Desktop Software for an Android phone?

  Hi I desperately need help with my phone... I have a curve 9360... It all started last Thursday 12 September 2013 when I started to do a software upgrade I started it and he got as far as 9% of backup software... I couldn't stop at all he kept it until Sunday...   Maybe your battery went flat. What you can do is first re-insert the battery and connect the charger. Wait up to 15 minutes to see if the phone shows no sign of life. If this is not the case, try removing the battery and then plug the charger. The phone should display an empty battery with red cross icon (can take a long time, too). Once this happens, insert the battery.

  Just install the free application PAndas vs Ninjas and now my phone does not restart.  Goes half way thorigh the process and then restarts.  Ive removed the battery then reinserted it but no change.

  You are able to reboot your device in SafeMode as shown in KB17877?

  I guess, because it is taken in a reboot cycle, when you connect to the desktop software it does not have a stable connection to reinstall your software?

  If this is the case, remove the battery and keep it off when you connect to the desktop software. You will get a pop up that the device cannot connect and there should be buttons retry, update and cancel. Select Update and you will then be able to reinstall the latest version of the device software.

  When the load progresses, you will see a step that says "waiting for initialization of the devices '. At this point, insert the battery and recharging must complete.

  In most electronic devices, the load will stop if it detects that the battery is above normal temperatures for safety. I imagine that the BB has this backup as well.
