Control ringer volume classic blackBerry

Hi, I love my new classic BB but I had no chance of finding ways to control the volume of the ringer. I sepcificaaly average how to silence the phone for meetings or when I'm in a movie. With "BOLD", it's simple, but I find it very confusing on the classic. Help, please!

Hello and welcome to the community!

Try the settings > Notifications. Then change the 'active' profile to "Silent" (or whatever you want). Alternatively, in these screens, customize each profile of works (LED, vibration, ringtones, etc) and can do so (for example, at a level of specific e-mail account, etc.).

Good luck!

  • Volume buttons control only the ringer volume

    It seems that the volume buttons on the side of the phone just control the ringer volume. On other Android phones, ringtone and Notification volumes have been linked together for ease of use.

    On the Droid Ultra/Maxx, there are four different volumes: media, ringtones, Notifications, and alarms. And none of them are interconnected. It is extremely annoying for many reasons, the main reason being there is no easy way to lower or increase the volume of ringtone and Notifications at the same time by using the volume buttons.

    The ring volume is adjustable to the max, but the text message sound will be very quiet. Or the ring volume can be set down, but text message noise will be very strong.

    Is it possible to fix this?

  • Grey ringer volume control

    I have a Z3 Compact with Android 5.1.1. The problem is that I can not change the ring volume. I don't have any other sound problems. As you can see from the screenshot, the ringtone volume control is grayed out. Any idea what could be the problem?

    You may need to perform a repair of software using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1 to 2 hours until the device has so at least 80% battery.

    Make sure that the device is not connected to the computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press the power button / stop and volume until what the machine vibrates 3 times or on some devices, it must push the small button near the tray on the back of the camera or SIM).

    Open PC companion-> support area-> update phone software / Tablet-> repair my phone/Tablet blue highlighted. Follow the steps, do not plug your phone until you are prompted to press volume down while plugging in the USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you may need to run Windows 7 compatibility mode (in some cases XP).

  • Helmet of blackBerry Smartphones do not control the volume?

    Got my PRIV - a few days ago gorgeous!  Still working on understanding all the features and very impressed so far. Unfortunately, I can't get the headset to control the volume of the phone.  The only option seems to be to physically settle on the phone itself.   have you tried with the closed Blackberry headphones and earphones Apple earphones ground Republic - none are able to control the volume on the PRIV.  Please advise - it is an important issue for me, so I may have to return the phone if I can't get one of these (or other) headsets to work right. Thank you.

    I am now using Sennheiser M2 OEG headphones with a cord android announced for the Galaxy.  All controls work properly when listening to music via BlackPlayer E.G.  This includes the volume, pause and move forward.

    Visually, I see no difference between the Sennheiser sheet and on the BB M-430 headphones.  in other essays of the M-430, I found that the controls on it would increase volume and advance and break functions worked properly, but the '-' grew up Google voice rather than reduce the volume.

    I also tried the headset that comes with the private which I had not unpacked I think friction pained headphones very comfortable.  The button on those will stop and start the music but do nothing else.

    So the private seems to be picky about this headset is used with it but the controls on some, but not all, headphones will work correctly.  Ironically the Priv do not take care of Blackberry helmets.

  • Phones ring Volume blackBerry smart - is there an easier way to adjust the volume?

    I just got my phone today and it seems that the only way to change the ring volume is to go through a series of 6 steps (according to the user's guide).

    Change the default volume for calls

    You can increase or decrease the default volume for calls. The percentage of volume is high, the louder.

    1. in the phone, press the Menu key.

    2. click on Options. 3. Click

    General options.

    4. change the default call Volume field.5. Press on the

    Menu key.

    6. click on Save.

    Has anyone found a faster way? I don't want to have to go through these steps each time that I have enter and exit a meeting not to mention the risks involved if I need to adjust the volume while I'm driving.

    I'd appreciate any help available.

    Thank you.

    After you set the default options, the easiest way is to go to the main menu, use the trackball to move up right and highlight the speaker, click on it and choose the setting that you want (that is to say strong, quiet, phone only, etc.)

    It's the fastest way I've found.

    I hope this helps.

  • Questions classic blackBerry Blackberry Classic compared to the features and functions of the Bold 9900

    I am extremely satisfied with the functionality of my Blackberry Bold 9900 and yet I am fun the idea of upgrading to a classic Blackberry and had a few questions, some of them functional, but one of them is technical:

    (1) I have granularily configured different contacts to the ring through "silent" while some people may sound through if I'm having a NAP or sleep. The classic allows you granularily configure the option of 'ring through' on a manually configured silent mode?

    (2) can the classic surely go to sleep and wake up one day of week / weekend schedule? My current phone doesn't sleep at midnight and wake up at 06:00 every night of the week and 02:00 to 09:00 on weekends.

    (3) back in the day of Blackberry older had a view "of today" where you could see the incoming email and tasks on the main screen. I couldn't get that with my Bold 9900, but I found this interesting app called BePopup which jumps to the top of my texts and emails on the screen as they come, without touching a button. Can you get automatically posted emails or texts with that with the classic?

    (4) the Blackberry plan I have with my provider uses the platform communications for my Blackberry RIM and so my e-mails are immediate, arriving minutes always quicker than other CC (iPhone and Android users) distribution lists. That being said, is the new classic uses what platform these other phones use for messaging connectivity?

    Any feedback regarding these essential functions would be greatly appreciated as it will help me in my decision. I am very happy with my 9900 and have little reason to upgrade... unless all of these options are available.

    1.) Yes, you can see: http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/67769/alc1334332742901.jsp

    2.) I don't think that this feaure is available, I'm not quite sure

    (3.) I'm not familiar with the view "today." To develop?

    Yes 4). 10 blackBerry smartphones requires more BIS data plan. Given regular or WiFi will work.

  • Control the volume of the multiple MediaPlayers - mediacontroller.h library of basic API

    Hello

    As I wrote

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/how-to-set-media-player-s-volume-in-QML/TD...

    I can't control the volume of a MediaPlayer object using myPlayer.setVolume ().

    I managed to set the volume to help:

    void ApplicationUI::setVolume(float val)
    {
        //audiomixer_set_output_level(AUDIOMIXER_OUTPUT_SPEAKER, val);
        mediacontroller_volume_set_level(val);

    }

    mediacontroller_volume_set_level() library of base API mediacontroller.h method.

    But it works on the single instance of MediaPlayer that I have on my QML, and I need to find a way to control the volumes of several players. How can I configure a specific MediaPlayer as "active" or "current" to call the

    mediacontroller_volume_set_level(val);

    Hi burakk,

    Please refer to your first forum post for the explanation and the code snippet on how to implement what you're trying to reach. I checked using the sample application 'nowplaying' that the MediaPlayer API setVolume method works as expected. I hope that helps!

  • How to control the volume of the MediaPlayer?

    BB:Multimedia:MediaPlayer has all the features of load, play, pause the music, but I couldn't find anything which could control the volume.

    Of course you can adjust the volume for the whole of the device, but is it possible to adjust the volume for this object?

    For example - if you have a background music in an application - it'd have to allow the user to adjust the volume of it.

    Hello djogon,

    It is certainly a valid use case. However, the API of MediaPlayer Qt (QML, Qt/C++), so far, is mainly designed for simple multimedia applications, for audio & video consumption (in local or streaming).

    This feature is currently doable by the low-level C API only; by mmrenderer:

    In other words, if you were to apply to your use case, you would have to implement playback using the C API and wrapper classes to communicate with the user of Cascades UI elements.

    The function to control the volume, in a context of mmrenderer (C API) is documented here:

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/beta/reference/mmrenderer_libref/topic/mmr_api/mmr_output_par...

    ---------------------------

    The best place to start would be to look at some of the native apps sample mmrenderer, high during the scanning level tutorials and documentation (pasted below):

    ---------------------------

    * Reading video sample application - code and tutorial with C API:

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/beta/documentation/video_playback_overview_2006471_11.html

    https://github.com/BlackBerry/NDK-samples/tree/next/VideoPlayback

    ---------------------------

    * PlayAudio sample application: https://github.com/blackberry/NDK-Samples/tree/next/PlayAudio

    ---------------------------

    To wrap the C/C++ API in QObjects and contact the QML UI elements, if you have not come across this already, there are other examples of applications which shows how to do this. Like this one:

    * Kakel, Cascades sample application: https://github.com/blackberry/Cascades-Samples/blob/master/kakel/src/kakelapp.h

    ---------------------------

    Some links to the relevant documentation for mmrenderer:

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/beta/documentation/com.QNX.doc.Mme.mmrenderer/topic/arch.html

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/beta/reference/mmrenderer_libref/topic/mm-renderer_client_api...

    http://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/beta/documentation/com.QNX.doc.Mme.mmrenderer/topic/about.htm...

    ---------------------------

    I'll try to convince the API team to include this feature in the MediaPlayer Qt API as well (for future versions of the operating system). If you can file a feature request in the Developer incidents handler, that would certainly help as well. (of course, more people asking for a function API - more chances).

    Hope at least part of this aid.

    See you soon,.

  • Treo800w does not use the ringer volume, I put

    I have my "phone: known caller ' setting on the standard Treo ringtone type ringer which is preinstalled on the Treo800w." I have the 'ring type' in the Ring, but no matter how high or low, I set the ring volume, that sounds only when the volume control low when a call comes in.  He is so weak that I miss basically every call. I tried to change other ringtones and the same thing happens.  The ringtone seems to work fine when the ringing type is set to 'Increase the circle' but that started to be so weak that it increases not the ringer volume enough before the call to your voicemail.  I need my ringtone to use a volume of your relatively high ring setting. Everyone knows this?  If so, what do you have to solve?

    I got an answer to this, of Paulcalif, in another thread: "have you tried"restart"by removing the battery and put it back in.. ' Try adjusting the volume all the way first, then it reboot. »

    Lil Red: This seems to have worked even though I still think that there is a bug in the software.  If I set the ring volume to a different volume level, the phone doesn't seem to not answer. Well, as long as it sounds strong and most of the time, I'm good to go.

    Message is about: Treo 800w (Sprint)

  • Cannot control the volume

    I have an Apple TV 4 (tvOS 9.2.1) with a Philips BDM4065UC 40 '' monitor (not TV) connected via HDMI. Everything works OK, except that I can't control the volume with the Apple Remote.

    In the volume control settings, I can choose between 'Auto', 'TV via IR' and 'Off '. Obviously 'Off' does not work. But not more than the other two.

    I asked Philips support if the BDM4065UC supports the HDMI-CEC, that I understand to be a sine qua non for Apple TV, and I'll make their response when I get it. However, I understand that the options 'Auto' and 'TV via IR' would not be displayed if HDMI-CEC was not taken in charge for the monitor.

    I can't form a new setting because the BDM4065UC is not a remote control to train with.

    I tried to use Apple's HDMI cable and the HDMI supplied with the BDM4065UC.

    Any thoughts?

    Steve

    I'm waiting for the volume of a computer screen (if it has speakers) to be flown by the device to which it is connected. The monitor is equipped with a remote control, otherwise I think he won't have the receivers to receive a signal from one.

  • Volume adjusts at random. Cannot control the volume with other software, ie iTunes.

    I have a HP Pavilion dv7-7000 Quad. The music playback volume goes up and down. Also, I can't control the volume in itunes or winamp. If I turn the volume in itunes there for a while, but back down. When I turn the volume to 1% in itunes, it says there for a few seconds and it slowly rises to the top.

    I tried a lot of things trying to get this problem resolved and spent over 2 hours with HP tech rep:

    1 uninstall the audio driver, restart, install the driver.

    2 bios flash

    3 reinstall the sound driver using HP Recovery Manager

    4 Windows repair.

    5 Chkdsk

    The only thing that worked was

    Uninstalled the audio driver in Device Manager and is looking for new devices and installed windows automaticlly refreshment and it fixed the issue... * beep *? I had my helmet in the decision-making when the driver installed.

    I'm afraid to turn my computer off now.
