Conversion of a mono * multitrack * clip Stereo

I have a multitrack project that was exported from Premiere Pro that contains the rough changes to the audio studio raw.

Many of the clips are mono, having been captured by the microphones of LAV. What I have to do is to convert these clips in place in stereo before finalizing the mix.

While I can easily convert any clip stereo Waveform Editor, the clip in multitrack session does not change. Even if the clip is on a stereo track, the clip still mono. By dragging the clip to a new stereo track does not work either. The clip still mono.

If I drag the same item in the files Panel to the timeline, it will be stereo, but then it's not in the right position and (due to the second 1 "margins") not easy to align with the original mono clip. It can be done, but there are many single elements to do.

What I want is a way to convert a stereo mono clip since breast of the multitrack session, or a way to "recharge" a clip in the same position in a multitrack session, resulting in the stereo clip.

If there is no way to do it, what should be done?

Thanks for any help!

I want back to the basics and ask why you think you need to convert a track mono mic in stereo?  By definition, all the MICS are mono (still called microphones stereo ones just several mono grouped).

Convert a mono track to stereo waveform can give you a 'stereo' file, but, in reality, there is nothing more than two identical pieces of mono.  Everything you do is double the disk space you need and adding to your load on the processor.

In any case, this is why I ask the question - it is possible that, instead of having to change your stereo track false that there could be a means of better work around any problem you want to solve.

Right now I am working around routing the outputs of the railroad to a Bus, and then sending that bus to another bus, the related adjustments.

Anyone know how to activate the Pan in the Panel of the shipment?

If twirl you down the button "view envelopes on the track after controls introduced a bus and sent your way, you will find that you can configure the control pan as an envelope under the window, under"send 1 Output. "

  • Color of multitrack Clips

    Hey guys -.

First of all... I LOVE hearing CS6. Tried and this improvement.

My question may be a bit stupid, so please forgive me.

I am constantly squinting in mutitrack view, because unless the clip is selected, it appears extremely bleak. Is it possible to change this? It seems that the only thing that changes when playing with the "appearance settings" is the waveform view. I want just the clips to show up a bit more in multitrack view without first having all select them.

    Gavan-

    Hi Gavin,

Is there a chance that you can attach a screenshot of your multitrack environment?  While the default global interface is dark gray, multitrack clips should display of waveforms in color, you can adjust by clip or by group in the Properties Panel.

You can also adjust the default color of waveform in Preferences > appearance who will adjust the default color for multitrack clips.  When they are disabled, the clips ARE dimmed, but the waveform must be visible on its background color.

  • Satellite A100 - recording control - no Mono mix or stereo

    Hello

I have this RealTek Audio Drivers installed in my laptop and when I go to check the registration, it has only 'Volume of the CD', 'Mic Volume' and 'Volume line' available. I know if I need to record sound directly from my laptop without using the microphone, I need "Mix-Mono" or "Stereo Mix" in my control recording, but I have this two components. How can I add these two things. I hope that I clarify my issues here. We hope to get solutions here. Thank you very much! =)

  • Seeds of inconsistent reading on multitrack clips?

    Hello

I have some problem in multitrack playback that I saw not described elsewhere. It seems to happen more often (or more) with very short clips, where a glitch is sometimes heard at the beginning or end of the clip. This can sometimes be explained by the fact that the clip does not start or end at a zero crossing, but it does not explain other cases where:

-The glitch is different each time that the section of the mixture is read - in a case where I used a lot of very short extracts (sous.25s), these also included artifacts in the final mix.

-The clip in question has a curve of applied melted (do not use the envelope volume, but one where you click and drag the icon to fade in the clip to add fade).

While testing this specific point, I found that using the volume envelope for the fade out instead of click-and - drag fade out seemed to eliminate the glitching, but it's a lot more time to add fade out in this way.

Note that I have both "smooth" limits options enabled in the preferences, did not have in-depth tests, but these options don't seem to have an effect on the question of whether or not the glitches happen during playback.

Here are some of my features:

-L' hearing 5.5 (version 4.0) on Mac OS 10.7.4, using the integrated sound card

-Tampon e/s is highest (2048 samples)

-J' have 3 GB of RAM and about 170 GB of free space on the 7200 RPM internal drive

All the world experience, and is it possible to eliminate or minimize this problem glitching?

Glitching was raised in the past in conjunction with Audition CS5.5, and it has no clear consensus on what could be the cause of it.

Honestly, the thing the most sensible thing to do is to spend hearing CS6 (aka hearing 5.0) - with which these problems do not seem to be the case. The buffer size setting won't make any difference to anything other than reading – it is an audio device problem, rather than anything else. Since you say that these defects make in a mix, that totally excludes buffer.

  • How to export multiple multitrack clips - I don't want to mix

Hello. I can't understand how to export multiple clips in multitrack view. The screenshot should show what I want to do: I have three long pieces, several hours each. I want to cut a part of each track to a single selection. I could do this for every song in my record and then customize the level and EQ for each song, and not for the duration of the track.

So, how can I do? How to make a selection in the multitrack view and use this selection to produce separate tracks that start and stop at the same place? I don't want to mix. Thank youaudition.jpg

After you make the selection, file-> export-> Audio Mixdown (Ctrl-Shift-Alt-M).  In the dialog box:

    Mix options

Source: click on the radio button of the track and ' all titles and master (separate files) from the context menu.»

Range: choose "Selected" from the context menu.

If you want to see the exported tracks to change immediately, check the box "insert Mixdown into:" and select "Edit View" from the context menu.

I'm not in the studio at the moment but if I remember you must uncheck "enable Clip Time Stretching" under the "View" menu. "

I'm sure that clips of blocking time will do the same.

  • Stereo to Mono

    Hi all

I've recently been conversion former years 60 tracks from stereo to mono CD, do I have to use the EQ button at all? Any help would be appreciated as this is all new to me

    See you soon

    Paul

Difficult to answer this question completely, sometimes with the hardware of the 1960s recorded in 'stereo', when you reduce it in mono by adding tracks, things disappear! Basically it's the same and out of step in each channel, it cancels the when added together. And I've heard some really weird to happen over the years.

But the direct answer to your question is that by nature, you don't need EQ anything . If you do not like the sound you have, then of course you can change this with EQ if you want, but my experience is that usually, it does not help with this stuff; If it sounds crap, then when you have EQ'ed, it sounds like crap EQ'ed - if you see what I mean...

There is more, you can do some of this material, which is sometimes useful - but I don't think that this applies to convert to mono - it's more to do in obtaining more reasonable stereo images.

  • Pierce the stereo track on two mono tracks

First 12 items. iMac. I have records with mono on a stereo track, the other track is empty. How to divide the track stereo to mono sound on both stereo channels? By using both channels on my video camera for different sounds, for example two people talking with separate pickups is a normal way of shooting. But the audio ends up as a stereo track when they are imported into Premiere Elements, and I have found no way to separate the tracks so you can work with them individually.

Go to the effects / Audio and use effect or fill right or left to fill in to spread the mono track on both channels.

  • Stuttering playback of mono ogg-vorbis files

    Hi all

I recently bought a Sansa Clip 4 GB and updated to the latest firmware (v02.01.32a). I am happy to use obb-vorbis files, but have met stuttering playback when you listen to mono ogg-vorbis files. In particular I listen to an audiobook on librivox.org page:

    http://LibriVox.org/Walden-by-Henry-David-Thoreau/

The first ogg file works, but all others stutter. After a bit of inspection using ogginfo, I discovered that the first file is stereo, while the remaining files are mono. I tried to re - encode using oggenc as Audacity using the nominal flow of 80 Kbps. All mono files I did expose the problem of stuttering.

I then did a stereo version of the file by duplicating the mono track in Audacity. The stereo file I did read correctly. Creating a file mono downmixing the stereo file new work with oggenc produces a file that stutters during playback.

All files read correctly in Windows Media Player with the official DirectShow filters installed.

Anyone else having this problem or know of a work around? I really want to use ogg format!

    Thank you

    Tyler

I decided to reformat and reinstall the latest firmware (using the MSC approach instead of the update of the firmware on Windows). All the ogg files play correctly now.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

  • How can I set up stereo audio tracks as default in first using the ProRes 422 codec?

Forgive me if this has been asked several times before. I searched but can't find anything that explained in a language that does not require a degree in computer engineering.

I'm a new convert to our beloved FCP 7. I'm learning to love dear first - but the audio part of this is driving me crazy.

I exported from FCP files as ProRes 422 movies with stereo audio tracks. I want to put first in the same way. But when I do it all crashed in a single audio file.

It plays havoc with the Pan - especially in mixtures which have a mix of stereo music. Apart from this it just confuses me.

Also. When I create a new project from scratch in the first and I select the custom ProRes 422, this setting doesn't allow to ProRes 422 audio mono. I don't see a codec for something else (ie. stereo).

    Am I missing something?

I looked in all areas of preferences and can not find anywhere to change this. I just want to import audio data from simple, basic two-lane (and let appear the same) that I would be in FCP, ProTools and the myriad of other editing programs that I use.

I also want to be able to set up a base of two-way stereo timeline/sequence without having to reinvent the wheel.

Thanks a lot for all the help and patience. I'm slowly pulling my hair and spend long periods sitting in the corner, hugging my knees and crying.

My characteristics. Preferred codec installation: ProRes 422 codec

    First pro version CS6 (6.05)

    Thanks again.

In the project Panel, select all the clips and rightclick/change/audio channels.

Set it to 2 tack and mono.

When you drop the clip on the timeline the stereo turns on two tracks.

You can also set by default in the preferences under Audio (before you import the clips) (stereo to mono).

  • Different ways of handling stereo

I have a number of mono audio clips in a project with a lot of mono audio tracks that act in the way of strangely. When I drop them into the best 7 titles they play from only the left or right channel (I thought they rotated, but not quite: track 1 s, 2 R, 3 L, 4 R, 5 L, 6 L, 7 R). When I put in any less than track, they play two channels.

It seems to me that there is a kind of audio output card which has defined for each track, though still more bizarrely this seems not to apply to * each * mono track. Can't seem to find something that would sort this, however.

This inconsistency is quite annoying, but I'm a fair way in this edition - is a short that was brought in FCP - and I really do not have to go back and change the audio mapping of each clip from scratch. Any suggestions?

Take a look at the controls to pan the audio mixer Panel, perhaps some are going to pan and some the other.

Another thing to check is to make sure that they have imported as mono on mono tracks and not as mono clips half a stereo track.

  • Problem hearing with files of Olympus PCM multitrack

I recently bought the Olympus LS-100, and I have serious difficulties with the audio files in PCM format when you work with them in Adobe Audition CS5.5. I used Adobe Audition for many years.

When inserting a PCM file recorded in the LS-100 and Audition multitrack session, the file is not inserted at the beginning of the session - as is normal, but rather to an unexpected situation. For example, a file has been inserted to 18:00:50.541; It's 18 hours, 0 minutes, 50,541 seconds. All the LS-100 PCM files I've tried have been inserted to unexpected similar positions, several hours in the multitrack session, rather than at the beginning.

The files from my Olympus DM-901, recently purchased, PCM has a similar behavior.

However, the mp3 files on both machines exhibit normal behavior, insert at the beginning of the multitrack session.

PCM files saved in other audio recorders insert at the beginning of multitrack sessions. In fact, I had never known anything else until I started working with files from Olympus. Can you please explain to me what is happening, and how can I solve the problem?

    Thank you.

By default, we insert clips at the location of their embedded timecode.  In your case, I bet that the olympus recorders are embedding time of day when the recording has started.  You can disable it in preferences, or you can manually drag + drop at their insertion in multitrack clips:
