Stereo to Mono

Hi all

I've recently been conversion former years 60 tracks from stereo to mono CD, do I have to use the EQ button at all? Any help would be appreciated as this is all new to me

See you soon

Paul

Difficult to answer this question completely, sometimes with the hardware of the 1960s recorded in 'stereo', when you reduce it in mono by adding tracks, things disappear! Basically it's the same and out of step in each channel, it cancels the when added together. And I've heard some really weird to happen over the years.

But the direct answer to your question is that by nature, you don't need EQ anything . If you do not like the sound you have, then of course you can change this with EQ if you want, but my experience is that usually, it does not help with this stuff; If it sounds crap, then when you have EQ'ed, it sounds like crap EQ'ed - if you see what I mean...

There is more, you can do some of this material, which is sometimes useful - but I don't think that this applies to convert to mono - it's more to do in obtaining more reasonable stereo images.

  • Change audio from stereo to mono I have 14 items!

Hello world! I have a problem that I really need help!

I just changed my first Pro CC for first items 14 and I'm using a Windows pc.

Due to a sound problem, I would like to change the audio from stereo to Mono, due to a problem with noise of crackling on portable devices using micro RODE NTG - 2. (for more information on the problem of mic check this video Audio problems using a Rode NTG - 2 condenser shotgun microphone. - YouTube). This problem is solved through audio from stereo to mono installation and I did it with success on first Pro CC by hitting shift + g key and then to change to mono - I followed by reading this comment (below) on a video about this problem...

Use the right to fill with the left or left fill with right audio effect. This will take one of your stereos and apply it on the two channels.

  • Audio stereo and Mono - why?

I tink a feature the more annyoying of the first is the way it handles the audio tracks.  I'm curious to know if it's just me or if someone else out there he is disturbed by the same thing.

I work on show a mini with a lot of music, sound effects and often 4 different microphones for actors at the same time.  Given that I have record 2 microphones on each cam (R and L), I like to import everything as mono clips so it breaks to the top of my audio and I can label that is on what layer/track.

Sometimes, I find myself with 20 different audio tracks.  Not because I NEED 20 layers, but because some of my SFX and stereo music and others such as mono and I cannot put a mono-clip on a stereo clip, and vice versa.  This is the part that drives me crazy.  I might need to add a second 1 swoosh SFX for some text coming and I must go to the layer 12 (scroll down way), when just below the video, there are 11 empty layers 'available', but cannot be used because they do not accept the placement of this track because it is in stereo when the clip is mono.  Make sense?  So, really, instead of 20 tracks, I could EASILY shoot with 10 first HAD a way to not be so fussy on the question of whether a track is stereo or mono and capable of handling just everything you dish it.

Premiere Pro finally got away with format-specific effects.  Now, instead of 3 fill effects (mono, stereo and 5.1), it is fair to fill, and it works on any track.  It wouldn't hurt if PP is went even further in the next version and went agnostic on the tracks themselves.

Make ' em all mono, with a right of option 'direction' in the header.

  • In the first 11 elements, can I convert a stereo, one mono audio track?

The microphone that I use on my digital SLR when video recording is a mono microphone (Canon 5 d MkII dslr, Hama lapel MIC). When I import video in first items 11, audio playback in mono - is there a way I can convert the audio in stereo?

    Thank you.

    Tom

    Welcome to the forum.

In fact, you cannot convert a mono source in true stereo, because it requires two microphones., but you can convert it to 2 mono channels. The difference is that you have the same signal on both channels, unlike stereo ture, where signals differ according to the micro system.

According to Steve, you can fill out to the left, or fill right, or you can just drag another Instance of your Audio Clip to a different Audio track mono. In the Audio Mixer Panel, you can pan to the left and one right.

Also, just like pre your mono 2 channels output mix, it will give you 2-Channel Audio signal even in the two ways, if you let the Pan toward the Center.

    Good luck

  • Stereo to mono track? Elements 9

Software non-linear as Avid import all the sounds in the form of mono track. Adobe is not, for some reason any. Instead, everything is in the stereo form. I need someone to explain how to change the stereo track on two separate mono tracks. This action is possible in Premier Pro via a parameter. Elements is not clear about this.

I have a wireless microphone and a camera microphone simultaneously record sometimes. I need this noise in the form of mono track to avoid ambient noise. Otherwise, when you turn down the volume of the track it affects them both.

Duplicate the track to Audio_2 Audio_1. Then use the "fill right" on Audio_1 (this deletes the existing left channel sound and it duplicates the right channel sound). Then use "Fill left" on Audio_2 (this deletes the existing channel sound right and it reproduces with the left channel sound). You have now two mono audio tracks, which will give you a mono output.

    See you soon,.

  • Is it possible to set the stereo output to mono in Windows 7

Stereo to mono in Windows 7

I looked everywhere in the settings of the sound and the accessibility settings in Windows 7. I can't find THE settings for the computer stereo sound to MONO.  I have the card REALTEK sound integrated on my Gigabyte motherboard.  I checked the settings as well.  The ONLY thing I've been able to do is to change the balance, and it does not solve my problem.  You see, I'm deaf in my left ear, so stereo records that I listen to with headphones on, I miss a lot of the sounds within the music or movie or whatever I'm listening.  On my Mac, all I have to do is click on a button in the settings, and the computer will play the stereo sound from TWO speakers, which is what I want on my PC.  I can't believe that this feature is not available in Windows 7.  Any ideas?

Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar > playback devices > select device > configure > choose Mono > then click > click on finish

is theres another longer way to do this too just make a single lane on the spot but still running two-speaker MONO BAM

  • Convert stereo mono and play in the two lanes

I use a stereo to mono plug to convert the sound coming out of my rear jack Mono in the hope of getting the full signal (left and right channels) for play in each speaker stereo. When you use the form, I receive his mono out of the left speaker only and no sound from the right speaker.

I tried two different stereo to mono converters and do not think that is the problem.
I know that I can't simply mono audio in Win7 (wtf, btw?) and my integrated sound card does not either mono output.
Background: I am deaf in my left ear and needed a solution to this for the games while wearing a helmet. In the games that I play, the sound is directional (playback of sounds generated in the left channel to the left of your character) who, being deaf in one ear, I do not. The games allow either for conversion to mono output.
The ideal solution would be to play l/r channels combined on both speakers, but I'll settle for playing the left channel through the right speaker. Return the helmet is not an option because of the way they fit.

I had the same problem, I will use a hardware solution rather.

  • Pierce the stereo track on two mono tracks

First 12 items. iMac. I have records with mono on a stereo track, the other track is empty. How to divide the track stereo to mono sound on both stereo channels? By using both channels on my video camera for different sounds, for example two people talking with separate pickups is a normal way of shooting. But the audio ends up as a stereo track when they are imported into Premiere Elements, and I have found no way to separate the tracks so you can work with them individually.

Go to the effects / Audio and use effect or fill right or left to fill in to spread the mono track on both channels.

  • problem stereo mono audio sync

I am currently the sound synchronization for a short film about the first CC. I have synced all clips in the timeline and it all synchronizations and sounds good. But when I "merge clip" the audio clips in the change tray. The synchronization is still perfect, but the sound goes from stereo to mono and pieces are added. The audio on the set was recorded in two ways.

    (1) 1 stereo L + R

    (2) 3 mono track

When I merge the clips with the 1 stereo track, it's going to be a track two. And it is no longer L + R. The two tracks are centered. When I sync the mono 3 track he added 6 extra tracks. the top rail being the audio and the two bottom being empty. Then the 4th channel audio a followed by two empty tracks. Then the track 7 audio has followed by two empty tracks. Why I'm having this problem and how to fix it?

Tom if you are here I could use your help. Thank you!

    Dan

The question comes multichannel .wav files.

I worked on projects with multiple audio sources where the guy his record each as discreet .wav files. So if you had two light armoured vehicles and a boom for a particular shot, every shot would generate three separate .wav files. It took a little longer to align with the synchronization schedule, but when I performed the merge with them, everything worked fine.

But on my current project, I worked with a different sound taker who would record the multiple sources in one file .wav of unique multi-channel. They were mono everything recorded, but in some ways, it would be the result in 6 different saved mono tracks. First poster these multiple mono tracks in their own separate tracks, already lined up on the timeline.

But when I merge the audio with the image, the clip that results is crazy.

When the audio is synchronized and merged with photo in a clip, it adds exponentially empty tracks. The normally, during a merger, the stereo tracks are divided into two mono tracks separate, one for each channel and mono titles should stay the same. That's what's supposed to happen. But as we see here, goes one extra thing that should not happen.

Instead, with multitrack files, it treats ALL tracks as singular multi-channel tracks and tries to "split" by creating additional empty tracks. But the thing the most bizarre of all is that the number of dupes is equal to the total number if securities. So for a shot with two light armoured vehicles and a boom, there would be three tracks in one clip. But the first treats each of the three tracks as if each of them has three channels and creates three tracks for each of them; one with audio and two virgins, for a total of nine tracks. For photos with the three actors of LAV and with a boom, there are four tracks that are multiplied four times, sent me 16 tracks. I have even some takes where the five original mono tracks are transformed into 25 tracks. Again, only five of them have actually audio in them, and the rest are empty.

It is exponential. Had I received an 8 track file, it could be turned into 64 tracks but 56 of them would be empty!

To make it even more fun, real audio extends vertically on the timeline with the dummy tracks between the two also equal the number of actual securities. So a clip merged 4-track place the real audio on tracks 1, 6, 11, & 16, but the audio clip merged with 5 titles puts the audio on tracks 1, 7, 13, 19 & 25. I can't just make a blanket "change Audio Channel" on everything and remove traces of dead. Everything is relative.

After the clips were borked upward with additional tracks, I went Clip-> change-> Audio channels and off all empty channels, then recorded a preselection based on how many tracks he was. If in my images bin that I have been able to organize by Audio info and he listed the number of tracks, he had. So I could put all my clips Mono track 12 together, highlight all the, then apply my Mono '12' channel filter preset to each of them at a time. Then I dragged them back to the timeline, and they have been set. Technically, these blank tracks probably still exist, but they are no longer visible.

And better yet, it does not any vertical difference between them. So if my audio was really on tracks 1, 6, 11 and 16 he places them on the timeline in titles 1 to 4.

Now that I have the presets I can apply it to all other projects where I meet this. It's always silly and obnoxious, but not as catastrophic as I thought he was.

  • How to make two mono audio tracks in a stereo pair?

My clip video, brought in first CS6 of Final Cut Pro 5, the left regular and audio tracks right, but first, they are not related in a stereo pair. Thus the volume level must be set separately in each track.

In Final Cut, I can convert two independent audio tracks in a pair of stero selecting tracks and then by going to the Edit menu > stereo pair.  I can't understand how to do this first.

When two audio tracks are not related, the volume level must be set separately in each track that is slow. But after two tracks are linked in a stereo pair in Final Cut, or another track adjustment allows to set both, together. That's what I want to do now in first.

So, how do two separate audio tracks in a stereo pair in first?

    Tom

    Welcome to the forum.

Have you looked at the padding on the left and fill right Audio effects?

They should get what you want, or almost. Now, the result will be stereo double mono and not true, but will be 2 channel, and that is, I believe, what you really want.

    Good luck

  • How to stream stereo audio left side clip?

    Hello

I use audio of an old clip where the audio is way out of balance to the left. In old FCP, I think I could put the saucepan to 01 and he got out stereo.

How can I get audio in FCPX?

    The best

    Elmer

    This is a stereo component?

Select in the timeline. Go to the Audio Inspector, in the change from stereo to mono dual channel configuration. Now, you have access and controls on individual tracks. Uh, I don't think you can ever go back to a stereo clip, however, so try this on a copy of the clip problem first.
