conversion of ms cluster
Hi, is there other aspects when migrating a MSCS from the physical to the virtual. The goal would be that the cluster is converted into line to avoid outages.
In addition, vmware converter standalone can migrate the servers online?
Thank you, Mark
If I remember well MSCS is recommended to be used on RDM (Raw Device Mapping) between virtual and physical.
Alternatively, you can refer to these KB articles:
Good luck

Hexadecimal string of Conversion of the Cluster
Hello
I need to convert a string to a 32-bit integer,
the 32-bit Hex input is read from a file (ex: 0x0012334A). Since this value required to contribute to an inorder to Cluster Bundle send using CAN protocol.
How to convert this and pour into the cluster of data?
Someone please comment on this.

I have an Oracle database independent 11 GR 2 running on a server blade with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 operating system.
Is it possible to convert this database to a cluster RAC 11g on the existing server, or what I need to first install the Clusterware grid and then migrate the database to the new cluster? If the cluster and the cluster software are not present, these components must be installed and configured.
The Oracle RAC option must be added by using the Oracle Universal Installer, making it necessary to the existing DB instance must be stopped. Consider that the disks are already in stock, otherwise data (database) must be migrated to the storage.
There is no necessary changes on the user data in the database.Check this note on MOS:

An array of doubles of unbundling
Hi Forum,
I need to measure current of 20 channels, so I combined the values of shared variables (one for each channel) 20 tabular, then send to a network variable to transfer data of A.i to B.vi. And then on B.vi, I use 'ungroup by name' to unbundle the cluster in the twenty individual values and indicate one by one.
My question is, how do I know what value that is out of the twenty variables? I have connected 20 variables shared in the table in a particular sequence, and when I use "ungroup by name' the sequence would be compatible?
I have attached a screenshot just to explain things better.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Batistuta002
Yes, it's the same as the first element of the array.
But you shouldn't be the conversion to a cluster of unbundling. It's a Rube Goldberg.
You should use Index Array to get the individual items.

A descriptor of KING in an output file
What is the best way to export a KING descriptor to a file such that it can be read later during a test. I would like to export a number of descriptors of KING to say a file txt, excel file, or some other choice if there is a better option.
Thank you
Wade
There are numerious options, each with their own advantages and disadvantages:
for readable, use toXML writing / reading in XML, the only con is that you must use the schema of NOR. If you don't like their schema, you can make your own with a little work. Or you can visit some of the open source or buy packages for the conversion of a cluster in XML format.
A straight string might work, but would not as stretchy for structures nested as Kings which consist of paintings and subclusters and enumerated types.
Give the diagram OR a test and see if it works for you, it will only taka a few minutes to implement.

Problem of cluster Failover MS after physical RDM conversion to VMDK
Hello
Last week I had to migrate 7 x 2-nodes virtual MS Failover clusters to a new data center. All clusters have been configured with the configuration of the cabin and all shared disks were in physical RDM mode.
The target data center does not RDM disks so I had to convert all RDM disks VMDK files and use config before the migration of the IPC.
I used vmkfstools to convert VMDK eagdrzeroedthick RDM files.
5 clusters have been migrated successfully, but two cluster got strange question even if the procedure for all groups was the same.
So in two groups, I have a problem where the second node in the cluster can not put online some of the shared disks. The first nodes in the clusters have no problem with the disks/SSP.
But when I try to failover of all services, the second node may not bring online disc 1 or 2 shared, even if she can put the other shared disks online.
VMKernel.log is not errors or warnings. I checked the configuration of virtual machines and everything seems OK.
Any ideas what I could check?
Just in case anyone else is facing the same problem.
I could not find the root cause of the problem, even if it's without a doubt the conversion that triggered the problem. However, we found quite a simple solution - added new shared VMDK files, copied the files over and replaced the defective discs.

Conversion of Standalone put in Cluster Mode of interconnection fabric UCS
Dear all,
I have an environment, where the configuration is done on the stand-alone version FI. Now the customer has purchased another FI.
Ask that let me know the best practice to convert the stand-alone version FI in cluster mode.
If someone can share the document that would be great...
Looking forward to hear as soon as POSSIBLE.
Kind regards
Gopi G
Very simple. Connect to your existing fabric of interconnection of the field running. Type 'local-mgmt connection '. In this next command, the IP address is the virtual IP address of the cluster. You will use this from now on to use UCSM. Type 'cluster enable IPAddress '. Answer Yes to the prompt. Cable now your second interconnect with the ports of L1 and L2 as a normal cluster configuration.
You will need to rework your service profiles since you now have a side B available.

Conversion virtual cluster SQL 2000 to 2 knots to a data center different
Hello
I want to use VMware converter to migrate the virtual SQL 2000 cluster of 2 nodes existing to a different data center.
Existing cluster is on the same ESX Server. A 2-disc shared: quorum disks and data.
After that, I'll send to synchronize the data in logs.
can anyone provide details, best practices, concerns on how to do it?
If this is the only SQL server, I just set up a new SQL to the DR server and then manually import all the information from the database. P2V a server cluster with player quorum and etc is a delicate bif.

Reliability of the data in the conversion to &; from a Variant...
It is possible to convert any data type to a variant, and then turn it back on. In doing so, are there data types who will lose information during the conversion process? If so, why?
Yes, you can convert any type to a variable ranging and back. There is a VI called "Variant data" which will have a type as input. He continued to convert the variant the correct data. The side variant must know what type of data to expect. He can pull of the Variant. However, you can use a cluster of generic data that consists of a username and a Variant. Then you can have different types of data which can handle the side reception. It is a two-step process. One of conversion the variant of general type (data type and Variant cluster). The second would be a case statement uses the type then covert the internal variant to the specified type. This approach is used for generic messaging systems. The upper levels of the code will know what to do with the data. The lower levels are just generic data passing around.
I'm not aware of any information that get lost during the conversion of the data to and from a variant. Of course, I not had no problem using them.

Enqueue cluster for Labview Teststand, return a cluster by notification
Hi all
I get very very frustrated that I can't find a way to spend
an asynchronous VI with a cluster of Teststand reflecting a LV
cluster using a queue.
This works if wire you the cluster Teststand for the VI is there
an order appropriate to link to. Yet, the VI has no
Connector, he expects that a cluster in queue, read of the
PropertyObject by 'GetValVariant', do some magic
and is supposed to return another cluster using Teststand
a notification
I can read singular elements of the cluster in queue, but cannot
Run in a cluster of LV with, say, the good old 'VariantToData '.
which indeed works great inside LV
Same thing happens when I try to regain a Teststand cluster
using 'SetValVariant' even if both the Teststand cluster
and the cluster of LabView are the same format and structure.
The 'Wait' Teststand notifier action is linked to the right cluster
property, but Labview fails at the "SetValVariant", because not of
the right type, even if I have sunk the variant data.
I wonder if I do wrong or Teststand and Labview
are simply not designed to work together seamlessly.
Here's the example I'm putting in place, but the reading of the
cluster fails, while the alternative 'False' works (123.00)
Defining the notifier cluster fails too, but its definition the
elements indivualy also fails because Labview is
What are 'Compliance' and 'Comments' in
the 'True' alternative, although I tried all
hierarchy tree.
You might have figured out, but I really really need to
get this working, and I can't understand where the
default is (next between the Chair and the keyboard) because
the principle works in LabView.
David Koch
Okay guys, I give up all hope, that I had to do this work.
This is a WIP Teststand container/Labview cluster motor relay.
TestStand 2013-> TCS_main_2.0.4.seq (run TCS_teststand_2.0.0.vi)
LabVIEW 2013-> TCS_teststand_2.0.0.vi (run TCS_instruments_2.0.0.vi)
LabVIEW 2013-> TCS_instruments_2.0.0.vi (interface instruments)The main idea was to catch Teststand queued of containers,
convert a Variant, to analyze their structure and
to match with their counterpart of cluster of Labview. The engine is initialized to 'learn' the Labview
data structures, storing the data type and the names of the clusters
different elements, as well as the cluster hierarchy.A format of target data type and an associated action are also
stored for each identified cluster/container.Then the engine is waiting for incoming Teststand queue
containers, convert them to a Variant, to analyze their
structure and * TRY * to match with the stored
having been analyzed Labview homologous groups. This is what I call the "footprints".
The three main problems were... are:
1 - different naming convention (TCS_string_teststand_name_convert_2.0.0.vi)
2 - format of different data type (TCS_variant_tree_convert_2.0.0.vi)
3 - different (TCS_propertyobject_tree_parse_2.0.0.vi) data structureI think I was very close to resolving these issues, but I'm
short on time. As an entrepreneur, I've spent
more than a month of work on this value. Who is
too many given my dead line.I'm quite sad to be leaving this unfinished, he would have
was great to get the motor relay pole upward and
running, having just to place a container Teststand
to get something done automatically at the other end
and just wait for a notification sent for analysis. What's left to do is the following, as an exercise
left for the reader:To "explode" the data structure to correspond to of Teststand "
still more verbose simpler data formatThis means for example that a Labview wave have to
be transformed into a cluster of 3 datas. You can read the
suite of document, but it is not very clear on how
The LabVIEW data type formats are converted to their
corresponding Teststand counterpart:http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052N-01/tsref/infotopics/labview_data_types/
Beware, this involves a lot of trial and error, as
creating a large Labview cluster with all data
type of support, import it in Teststand and create
a custom, data type and then compare each converteda data type.
B point A would improve the adequacy between Teststand
containers and clusters of Labview. With a longer data structure mirrored, it will indeed
help 'TCS_fingerprint_search_2.0.0.vi' to compare
the structure of the Teststand container with the correspondent
LabVIEW cluster structure, the elements names
Always different Convention.Conversion of data format C - needs to be done, place holders
are ready to be filled. There are still a lot of work to do in 'TCS_variant_tree_convert_2.0.0.vi '.
Remember that the type of data "FileGlobals.tcscluster".
mirrors (wise Teststand) the 'TCS_instruments_2.0.0.ctl '.
type definition. This means that a string has not transformed a waveform.
Data format should be very close to each other. That's why
There is no need to focus too much on these "exotic" data
format conversions. Thanks again to all the people who have invested some time
in trying to help me solve this issue. Thanks to nathand for its cluster monitor not recursive.

What is the best way to convert an array of bytes or string cluster
I am writing a program that sends UDP packets and I defined the data I want to send via large groups (with numbers of u8, u16/u32, u16/u8/u32 tables and nested groups). Just before sending the data, I need to convert groups or chains of arrays of bytes. The flatten the string function is almost perfect for this. However, it is addition of lengths in the tables and strings that makes this unusable method, because as far as I can tell.
As I have many of these groups, I would rather not hard code the unbundle names and conversion/cast of strings or arrays of bytes for each of them.
Y at - it a function, or a tool that I'm on?
Thank you!
mkirzon wrote:
The program I'm developing is to communicate and to poll an external device that includes a Protocol well documented. The messages that I built in clusters contain components accurate that expected from the other device. So, if my program adds any additional info (such as this array/string lengths), monitor the device external won't recognize messages and returns an error.
Unfortunately, you have to ungroup your cluster and collect the individual channels to concatinate.

How to change a program refers to an element in a cluster?
Hello!
I'm trying to programmatically change the background color of text of items in a large cluster.
I'm using LabVIEW 2010 SP1. Attached is a criterion vi that I am expermimenting with. The test cluster has 6 elements and the final cluster will have 140.
All items will be the same data type.
Based on the rate of change of the value of the item, I have to change the background color.
Instead of creating a reference for each item in the cluster (as in my test vi), I'm looking for a way to change the reference programmatically. Is there a way?
I'm also planning to build a table of references as an alternative to brute force, but I would like to know if there is something more elegant and more effective first!
I am making sense?
Thank you
Mike
Hi Lynn!
You gave me the idea that I needed.
The AllObjs property node has the answer, but it must be type conversion "to a more specific class" go hand in hand - see attached.
Thank you very much!

I'm looking for more help with the conversion of an array of elements of the chain in a cluster containing elements named different data types.
I am importing data from an Excel worksheet. He is coming in LabVIEW as separate (channels) 3 tables: 1) Variable name, (2) three possibilities Int, double, String) data type and the value 3), with the clues in each table corresponding to a separate variable (I have about 180 variables to import). My ultimate goal is to convert the string array of 'Value' in a cluster. But I want the correct data type in the cluster and I also the elements of the cluster name to match with the string 'Variable name' table so that I can use the Unbundle based on the name in my main VI.
Please see attachment a Subvi for more details. I did the size of the new items of tables 5 for simplicity. I realize that labels property cannot be changed during execution and I don't think I need to do. I just want to use the production cluster (mainly the unbundle by name) to help design my main VI. I will need to 'read' and 'write for' the cluster during execution, but I won't need to change the names of the items.
I was also wondering if there is a better way to import data from Excel? Is it possible to import directly into a cluster immediately rather than put everything as strings? I have attached a Subvi showing how I currently bring in data (found on the forum somewhere). It comes as table 2D, which I divided into 3 separate tables that I mention above.
I am open to any suggestion. Thank you very much.
-Mike
Instead of trying to create a cluster, I think I would use only variant attributes.
