Copy paste & has stopped working Vista
I am on vista and all of a sudden my copy and paste into word and excel has stopped working. After some research, I think that its to do with the Clipboard, but I am unable to find it. Can anyone help? Thank you

Windows Explorer has stopped working vista 64-bit
This is a random error that continues to be. I wonder if I want to seek a solution, when I do, it seeks a minute then quits or restart the program, when I do closes. It's random, seems to happen with windows internal programs, it happens more with I click, right happens again and again, but I'm going to work if there is more then a why to open a program like: go to control panel and double click on Device Manager, I get Windows Explorer has stopped working, but I can't get to the system hardware tab Device Manager and it opens fine. I can do a restore and I don't know that I don't have a virus or spyware on my computer. I can't say at this point when it started, cause I just thought it was a freak thing. Maybe something to do with the UAC. There must be an easy fix for this. Please help, going nuts about it.

The problem is probably AVG which has caused a lot of problems lately for 8.x and 9.x.
Frankly, I would delete it. Download but do not install the replacements until AFTER you remove AVG

Explorer Windows has stopped working Vista Service Pack 2 has begun with October 2011 updates
I get the following message is displayed when I bring some lists of files in a directroy on my C: drive and also when you look at other directories on the other pc is my Vista machine. (other machines running XP and have no problems). I do turn Norton Antivirus without any problems, you run malware and no problems to speak of. This all started I think during updates October 2011 MS and I don't have any restore points left will support this far. See more about messages I receive. I was uninstall as many updates in October as it will unistall without effect. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem. ?

I have a WD external drive. I bought it 2-3 years ago and it works perfectly until a few months ago. My computer is using Windows Vista. The problem is that, although the external drive is detected when I open a pop up window appears indicating that Windows Explorer has stopped working. Then the window closes. I told you to do many things. What you have tried and what you are still trying (if we can get a happening of todo list and I can check it)? Have you managed to find the results of chkdsk?
Copy and paste so the formatting is good. It is a single line. If you get an error message, you can copy it by right-clicking in the window, choose the brand, by selecting the text, and press ENTER.
There are communes of false positives of SFC so do not assume that something is actually corrupted until we see what files it complains. Settings.ini, desktop.ini, tcpmon.ini and ending with mof files are false positives.
For the results of the SFCStart - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy and paste by clicking in the command prompt window and choose Paste).findstr/c: "[SR] cannot" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log|more "It will be able to see which files are corrupted.To see if therefindstr/c: "[SR] repair" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log|more -
On my installation of Vista, all windows updates no longer work. If I try and run them from Windows Update in Control Panel one starts to run but then it just hangs. At the same time, I get a message "Windows install Module has stopped working and closes". If you look in the services, it is crushed, but restarts. The update remains always hung. It doesn't matter what update I try and run, I always get the same result.
When the computer is shut down, it also tries to automatically install updates. These also hang on the first, which means that I have to force power off the computer.
Don't know if this is related, but I don't think that SP2 already installed - it kept if crush (don't remember what was the error message). When I restart in safe mode it tells me that I'm still on SP1. I followed all the suggestions on how to get SP2 installed for the error I received, but nothing has worked.
Do not really understand what I have really installed a lot of "_" on the PC, it is a "clean" installation (about 1 year now).
Any ideas? Really, I don't want to have to do a re-install, but I suspect that is where I'm heading unfortunately.

(a) did you try to temporarily disable the security software and check if updates are smooth?
(b) you are using a firewall in addition in instead of the windows firewall? If so disable (temporarily) of the third party firewall and look for updates.
It is usually caused by a 3rd party firewall that it blocks the internal ports.

(2) select "View problem history", under 'Windows identified problems' with the right button on a problem, and then select "view problem details. Click "Copy to Clipboard" export to text document
