copying files to another folder

In the past, I was able to copy (NEF, TIF, JPG) files from one folder to another by holding down the Option key button by dragging the thumbnail. All of a sudden, I can't do this and get a message "the operation could not be completed. An unknown operating system error has occurred. »

I suspect that this can happen because I deleted the plist because I had other issues with Bridge (constantly updated). Or maybe because I went from Leopard to Snow Leopard?

Suggestions on how to solve the problem of the OPT-drag?

(Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and bridge 4.0.4.2)

Thank you

-Greg

I feel that's what delete the plist file performs

Without knowing the difference between them exactly, it is not the same.

Sometimes resetting prefs is sufficient to cure bridge, if not then the

combination to remove the plist of library user and reset

preferences circled.

But when problems also with cache as you describe it, it can also be

allows to leave the bridge, remove also the file cache for the user bridge

library cache folder, then also the plist and also option + reset prefs for

The bridge is the solution.

The last method is left heavy and means you must recache all files

Once again. For my workflow not a big deal, follow these steps every now and then for fees

  • How copy/paste or copy/move a file to another folder in Windows XP

I need to copy/paste or copy/move the files from one folder to program existing to another folder.

Use the movement commands to copy do?

    Hi Jimmyjack1941,

I suggest you to read the following articles for more information.

These are the items if you use the Windows Explorer to perform operations:

To copy a file or folder

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_fcab_copy_file.mspx?mfr=true

To move a file or folder

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_fcab_move_files.mspx?mfr=true

You can follow these commands to move and rename the file or folder using the command prompt:

Moves files and renames files and directories.

To move one or more files:
    MOVE [/Y | /-Y] [drive:] [path] file1 [,...] destination

    To rename a directory:
    MOVE [/Y | /-Y] [drive:] [path] dirname1 repert2

    [drive:] [path] file1

Specifies the location and name of the file or files you want to move.

    destination

Specifies the new location of the file. Destination can consist of a drive letter and colon, a directory name, or a combination. If you move a single file, you can also include a file name if you want to rename the file when you move it.

    [drive:] [path] dirname1

Specifies the directory you want to rename.

    repert2

Specifies the new name of the directory.

    /Y

Deletes the request for confirmation that you want to replace an existing destination file.

    Y

Causes of request for confirmation that you want to replace an existing destination file.

The switch /Y may be present in the COPYCMD environment variable. This can be derived with / y on the command line. Default value is quick to replace unless is running of command MOVE within a command script.

    Example:

    move c:\windows\temp\*.* c:\temp

Move the temporary directory c:\windows\temp files in the root, this is of course assuming you have the windows\temp folder.

Note: Microsoft does not move the files/folders installed application.

    Hope this information helps.

Apparently, Windows has a problem to download files larger than 50 MB.  To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

In a security update, Microsoft has limited the size of files that can be downloaded from the remote folders to 50 MB. To increase this, you must change a registry setting.

    1. Download FileSizeLimit.reg
    2. Double click on FileSizeLimit.reg
    3. If necessary, enable the registry editor to run
    4. Click the Yes button to allow the changes need to be made
    5. Click OK
    6. Restart your computer

Before I'm going to reinvent the wheel again, does anyone know a LabVIEW feature that can perform the following operations:

    If I have a folder with files A, B, C, D, E, F, G

Is there a function that checks the contents of the folders against anothers, and then copy all files that do not exist in the other folder?

On the top of my head, I think I could write something that could do this, but if it exists, what's the point .

I recently put in place something like this, but probably too specific to my files to help you. Using the following screw, you should be able to establish a fast enough:

    2. check if file or a folder exists

If the file is located in a folder in your own user account and you want to move to another folder in your user account, simply open the windows and right-click/drag the file. If you want to make available to another user on the file system, copy in the Public directory. That's what the Public is for.

  • How to copy settings on a development folder and copy it to another folder containing the same photos

    Hello forum!

I kinda made a mistake. I hope someone can answer me this.

I have a folder under "Records" in the library. In this folder, I have 62 photos, which are also edited in lightroom.
A mistake that happened and I've added a new folder containing the same images, but there is more than 200 pictures in this folder.
Is it possible to copy my photos modified in my catalog to the new folder?

I hope that the question was not confusing.

    Thank you!

If you have two folders, which contains identical images, then you have the duplicate hard disk files.

In this case, you will not be able to move the images published in the largest file because the file on any computer system will not allow that.

Copy of the parameters is not the answer because that can be done individually (assuming that all the files have not the same settings)

Identify files duplicate in the large folder and delete them from your hard drive. You can do this in Lightroom by pressing the DELETE key and choosing the option remove the disc (not delete)

Select all 62 images in the grid, and then drag them to the folder you want to move them. Lightroom invite you you move them on the hard drive also. Ok.

  • Access to the files in another folder redirection

Is it posible to do that when virtualized application wants access to C:\program files\program\somedir, the request is redirected to another path?

I have a poorly written app that stores a large amount of data in program files and it is now virtualized inside the thinstall folder, but I prefer to see if I could move the data to another location, outside thinstall.

Problem is that I can't change this path in aplicaion as is hard-coded.

P.S. is there a list of all events in thinapp which can be used for the script.

  • Elevation of the files to another folder and when I do, I type the file name in windows search and says its still there.

Well first off this isn't a big problem for me, it just confuses me that I've never seen something like that happen. Second, turn off the computer in question has 3 antivirus programs and I ran them all without any problem. Sorry I don't want good average, but this seems to be a common response here, I did it before asking. Now for the question!

So my girlfriend recently downloaded a pack weight of remixes of video game of his favorite game (don't worry not all free), but there are 1000 + songs where love why shes separate his favorite songs in a different folder. For simplicity lets call the folder with notebook of songs 1000 + has and the folder in folder B, she is now the songs, both are also on the desktop. And I doubt that it will be useful info but the files are all MP3 now let me explain the problem.

So when she's going through all his songs in the notebook has and find one she likes, she drags it to folder B, now his file in B, it plays, it works great, its there for you. But here's the source of confusion, because of mass number of songs, part use the search bar to find specific ones, while doing this, she noticed that a song, she moved was always there (directory always said it is in folder A). She looked in the file one himself without research and MP3 is for sure not in the Outbox folder, but for sure in folder B. Once she saw this she sought other songs, she moved to folder B, for some songs, it shows always looking in the Outbox folder, other songs he does not, seems to be random?

So my question is why she do that? It is just the mass number of songs or is there a glitch. A kind of problem of research of vista bullshit? All the patches?

Sorry for the long question I wanted just to be thorough, and add as much information, so it can be solved.

    Thanks for your answers,

    Bran
