Corrupt resettlement of my Pavilion a6009n desktop computer...

Hi all... I decided to do a reinstall of my OS Windows Vista(32bit). I have ordered from HP recovery disks when I forgot my Windows password. I did it several times before, but this time, something is very wrong! It went normally, but I noticed a few missing steps; He did not ask a key, it won't go to the part when he asks you for a user name and password, set the clock and time zone, a few other things that I don't remember now. It would reformat the HD, reinstall programs that are packaged with it (they miss you - trial Norton AV, all the extra crap that you never use as installation of AOL, eBay, etc.) While he would be stuck in the TFullScreen (the page that tell you to wait, he completed the configuration.  I started on about 3 times and same thing; fact the chkdsk and memtest came out OK (although the chkdsk completed but I find the results anyway there are a lot more, but right now it works but when I login, the annoying ProcessTimer appears in the upper right corner, something appears top of the screen that says: 72NAv3PrA1 (software build) Adobe Flash PLayer_9.0.28_01_ALL - ALL-WW and it gets stuck at 26%.) Clicked on it and it says something like break kitchen? I'm stumped...

Move a document of support... Your PC should nvidia chipset... check if it has a seagate baracudda or TeamViewer hard drive. If so, this is probably the part in red affecting your PC.

    jherbie77,

Are you sure of that model #?  I found it listed hereandhere as a PATA/IDE hard drive. Not a good choice!

That being said, here are my suggestions.

You need an internal Sata DVD + RW (there be DL mode) and the necessary cabling. Power supply not having a spare power cord Sata, but it wil have the molex 4 pin. You also need a Sata data cable.

    Player $18.99

    cable selection:

just a data cable, you have found a power cord Sata 15 pin $2.99

just a power and data in the drop-down list $3.99

  • Upgrade graphics card for HP Pavilion A6720Y desktop computer

I have the HP Pavilion A670Y desktop computer and was thinking of upgrading the graphics card GeForce 9100 integrated to a Radeon HD5850 and adding a new power which would allow this change. Power side is there a reason that my office would not be able to support the Radeon HD5850?

It's your motherboard.  Make sure that the slot next to the PCI-E x 16 card is open as 5850 is a wide double card.  Your PC has only a 300 watt PSU so 5850 is only in need of a much larger power supply.  Look at the 12 + rating required by the 5850 and then choose the new modular power supply.  Buy not only on power alone.

Your PC has a practice of small Tower and the 5850 will consume more power (wattage) compared to your existing integrated video processor which means more heat. Be prepared to deal with this issue.  The 5850 is perhaps too card for your PC.

Don't forget that your PC system BIOS is up to date.

Open your Pc and clean all the dust. Then a measure of your current diet and buy one that is modular with almost the same dimensions.  Then measure around the PCI-E x 16 slot to make sure that the card fits.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

  • HP Pavilion a6767c desktop computer: WIFI HP Pavilion replacement card

I have a 2009 HP Pavilion a6767c desktop PC (model name: FQ587AAR), in Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is that my WIFI signal is weak to 1 or 2 bars on a "good" day. Sometimes, I don't have any signal. Everything on my desk works very well. For comparison, I also have a HP Pavilion dv6t - 6 c 00 CTO Entertainment Notebook which is furthest from the ATT wifi router modem than the office. With the laptop, I still have 4, for the most part 5 bars. My smart phone Samsung S4 also has good Wi - Fi signal in the House. The problem seems to be with the Wi - Fi Office. My device manager says I have an adapter 802. 11 b/g.

Is simply a new card internal Wi - Fi? If yes what is recommended for my office to the brand and I should get? And it of just a matter of unplugging the Tower, grounded by static electricity, opens the box and try swapping in the slot?

Any orientation of this novice is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. I have a direction to follow.

  • How to set the resolution of the Viewsonic VX2235wm monitor with Pavilion a420n desktop computer?

    1 HP Pavilion A420N

    2 Win XP

3 Control Panel-> display, does not have the optimal screen resolution, 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz. The selections available only for a lower resolution without the proportions appropriate for this monitor and the screen image is severely distorted.

    4. installed latest version of the BIOS, video drivers, drivers latest installed monitor, the monitor is a Viewsonic VX2235WM

    Can someone help me out?

    Thank you

Here are the specifications of your HP a420n desktop and its card mother A7V8X - LA Kamet2-GL6E. The edge VIA Unichrome graphics adapter is old and does not support the extensions on the big screen. 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024 resolutions are more likely that will support the computer, which are all the 4:3 aspect ratios. Based on the above specifications, I would say that after buying and installing a AGP 8 X / 4 X (1.5V) graphics card, your system must manage a 16:10 ratio width / Monitor wide screen without problem.

  • a pentium Dual-Core E2180 processor will work in a Pavilion a1102a desktop computer

An Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2180 processor will work if it is installed in a desktop Pavilion a1102n?

    No, it won't.

The best you can do in this computer is a Pentium 4-650.

  • What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a pavilion d4790y desktop computer?

What is the maximum size of hard drive, which can be installed in a desktop pavilion d4790y?

It would be a secondary drive, not the boot drive.

The operating system is Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.  The version of the BIOS is 5.08.

Are there any changes or upgrades that would allow an internal hard drive 3 TB to install?

Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion d4790y and here are the specifications of its card mother P5BW - THE (Basswood2). Based on the specifications and the age of the computer, I would expect you to use a hard drive 3 TB as a secondary drive on Windows Vista (DISPLACEMENT SP1 or SP2) and Windows 7. Formatted as MBR would require the drive to use with a minimum of two partitions. Formatted as GPT would require only a single partition. In no case will you be able to use the 3 TB as a boot device drive because your computer does not support a UEFI BIOS that allows booting from a GPT formatted disk. No changes or updated should be held.

  • Windows XP Home Edition on HP Pavilion a708n desktop computer stops during power on, reads disc once then powers

Hewlett-Packard Pavilion a708n with Windows XP Home Edition operating system.  I press the power on switch, HP light lights, then a flash of light yellow for the access to the disk, and then off as if I had pressed the on-off switch.  No display on screen.  Power switch is turned off unless I unplug the power supply cord until the green light on the back of the unit turns off.  If I reconnect the power cord, the computer starts as if I had pressed the button / stop playing a disc made, then turns off.  Only change I made before, was that I plugged the power cord directly to wall outlet instead of a surge protector. Maybe a power surge corrupted a file?  The computer is running daily since 2003 without incident, then, of course, that I don't remember what I did with my Wincows XP Recovery disk.  Is it possible that I can make a recovery CD, or do I have to take my computer in a store?

    Hi windbill,

It seems that there is a power supply for the computer problem.

I suggest that you wake the computer to the local computer store and check if all cables are connected properly and the computer power supply is correct.

    I hope this helps!

  • How to restore the system recovery files to their original location? (HP Pavilion p6540F desktop computer)

I have a desktop HP Pavilion P6540F under Windows 7 Home Premium. A few days ago there was a problem with windows that virtually wiped out my OS and I had to restore my computer to factory settings. Before restoring my computer I backed up all my files on a disk. After Reinstalling windows, I placed the drive with all my files recovery on it in my computer and running the recovery .exe file that has started downloading my files. All of this worked perfectly well but the problem is that these files only stored in a file on my desktop and has not been restored to its original location. Is it possible to get these files to restore to the correct locations on my computer without having to manually, drag the files to their old location? Honestly, I don't know where many of these files were located before the restoration and many items such as preferences for certain programs are impossible for me to move. Thanks for the help.

The backup that is used to recover only restores the files in a folder, leaving the owner to move. I agree, not the application of backup more useful, but better than nothing I guess.

  • HP Pavilion s5570t desktop computer: single SATA hard drive configured as RAID in BIOS

Our small computer lab has two offices of Pavilion Slimline s5570t that we have recently upgraded to Windows 10. I noticed that in the configuration of the BIOS for the SATA hard drive, it is defined as RAID. I don't know why. The thing that brought this to my attention, is that the software Intel Rapid storage technology constantly shows about 25% CPU use and there high usage of the disk when computers start first which makes them unusable until the software installs.

My question is can I change the setting of the BIOS SATA AHCI with no problems and that will solve the problem? The Intel rapid storage technology software version is v9.5.7.1002. It is obviously old and I could update, but I wonder if the real issue is the BIOS setting.

    Thank you

    JohnD

Thank you for the additional information.

I'm not sure it tells you, but I changed these settings without having to reinstall the operating system.  I suppose it could be correct.

  • I have a HP Pavilion a1020n desktop computer, 519J. I have upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 32 bit. I have also

    Hello:

You're right about the Cedar Mill running cooler than the Prescott.

But I don't think that level 650/651, there will be much if any difference in the production of heat.

When you get to the 660 vs the 661, it's where you'll really see the difference.

I would like to make the change for the following reasons: 400 MHz faster, faster FSB (800 MHz) and double cache L2.

For any reason, you can then run a 64 bit desktop OS. Your 3.06 is capable of 64-bit No.

I enclose a link so that you can compare your current processor, the 650 and the 651 side by side.

Visiting the graphic issue.  You cannot change your screen resolution to anything other than what is there.

Also your graphics acceleration is disabled. Play one of the Microsoft games group and you will get an error, you need to close before you can play.

Nor do you have Windows Aero.

I hope that you can install this driver, so you can change your screen resolution regardless of your monitor/video card used to be able to manage and activate the graphic acceleration again.

This is the first you can try:

I think that you will get an error when you run the file that says OS not supported.  Close it and click on your VGA adapter in Device Manager. Click the driver tab click on update driver. Select travel it my computer for the software method and navigate to C:\SWSetup\sp34550.  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

If the office driver does not work, try the driver for laptop. Make the method to browse, then navigate to C:\SWSetup\sp34749.

If none of these video drivers work, you're stuck with what you see, unless you buy a Windows 7 capable PCI video card that works within your power.
