corruption of the CD/DVD-RW device

I have a dimension 8400 that fails to load the cd/DVD-RW drives, saying: the files are corrupted. Does anyone else have a simular situation or idea. I followed the troubleshooting guidelines to reinstall the files, but that did not work. Yet corrupted. I'm looking forward to having to reformat with the startup disk, but even in this case know that the machine would read this cd. Thank you. : smileysad:

Automatic update of Tuesday last Windows 7 has killed the mouse USB and almost all USB storage devices that I use on the system. I tried several mouse and all report an error that it cannot find a driver now and that I should replace the unit. Microsoft mouse works fine on other computers - tried on three other machines, 2 running Windows 7 that did not update and a Vista running. All USB storage devices work on the other two machines. It seems that the last update has trashed the directory or the USB driver cache because the system can not find more.

Tried to run the software "fix it" Microsoft with no luck. Also tried several other suggestions Microsoft forum without success.  I am a student and having papers coming due next week so need to fix this quickly.

    Hello

    (1) what is the Microsoft FIXIT you have tried to solve this problem?

    (2) who is the last (KB) update installed on your computer?

Method 1: Uninstalland reinstall the USB controller

Use Device Manager to disable and re-enable all the USB controllers. This allows controllers to recover the port USB of his condition does not respond. USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.

    Hi, James:

Most likely the media you use is incomplete or a bad burn to the DVD if you have the installation media of the ISO download on Digital River.

There is no missing drivers. W7 has all the drivers needed to install on your model.

Follow these instructions and see if you can get W7 installed in this way.

I would use the MS tool USB ISO.

Make sure you absolutely get the entire ISO file when you see the download complete message.

Sometimes, he reports the download is finished and your ISO file is a lot smaller that what he said was downloading.

Use the W7 pro product key you have.

Use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    c. There is a problem with the file I/O process.

    (d) a pilot that refers to an entry point in another binary file cannot load.

The recommended solution is to remove the device and reinstall the drivers for this device. As you have tried this step, I suggest you to try the steps mentioned below and check:

I recently brought lenovo s20 nootbook laptop with win8.1. now I want to change it for win 7 but at the start of the process, I am faced with the question IE a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing error.

    Hi Kothalanka,

We are there to answer your concern about the installation process of Windows 7 .

Here are the following reasons why a required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing error message occurs:

    • The installation DVD is removed during the installation process.
    • A bad quality DVD has been used to create the installation DVD.
    • The speed at which the installation DVD is burnt was too fast.
    • The DVD drive cannot read media.
    • The ISO file is corrupted.

    • Burn the DVD to install at a slower speed.
    • Best DVD quality to create the installation DVD.

    • Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool allows you to create a bootable USB key and then use the USB flash drive to install Windows.

If you still encounter the same error after doing one of the above resolution, here are a few troubleshooting methods that you can do:

    • Run the DVD on another computer to determine if the DVD works properly.
    • Test your DVD player using a Windows installation DVD official.
    • Attach the ISO file to a virtual machine to verify if it is corrupted.

  • BIOS does not detect the CD/DVD on Satellite A205-S4639 device

    Hello!

My laptop Toshiba works not very well, he has the following problem:

When I enter the BIOS program (by pressing F2) main 'BIOS hand', the CD/DVD device does not appear in the module.
Click on the link of the image: [main BIOS | http://softvaina.googlepages.com/BIOS.Main.jpg]

Then, I go to the BIOS boot module and the CD/DVD device appears in the list of boot devices, che the image link: [BIOS Boot | http://softvaina.googlepages.com/BIOS.Boot.jpg |] BIOS Boot]

Finally, I try to boot from the CD/DVD-ROM and it works (check this box [Image | http://softvaina.googlepages.com/BootMenu.jpg |]) Boot menu]).

In the environment of OS (Ubuntu and Windows XP), the CD/DVD device does not appear, and it does not work.
    The laptop features:

    Make/model: TOSHIBA Satellite A205-S4639
    T.O.D.: 160 + 120 GB
    RAM: 3 GB DDR2
    Video: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300
Optical drive: PIONEER DVD - RW DVR-K17LF

Note: I've updated the BIOS, but the problem persists.

    What is going on?

    > Then, I go to the BIOS start module and the CD/DVD device appears in the boot device list, click the link of the image: BIOS Boot
It is a boot menu and it always seems to know whether or not the CD/DVD or HARD disk drive has been inserted!

    Concerning

    Nick

    Hello

It seems that you are using Vista Ultimate and not the original Vista that was preinstalled on the Qosmio G30.

I think I know why Toshiba HD player produces this error message.
Always is that the Toshiba HD player that is on the page of the Toshiba driver is not a full version but only the update. The full version of the HD DVD from Toshiba drive did not appear on the page of the Toshiba driver due to some restrictions.

If you want to use the HD DVD player, you must install the Toshiba image, and then you could install the update of the page.
But note; the recovery CD Toshiba which contains the image will format the whole HARD drive.
This is why don t forget to back up your data.

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS. I tried this DVD in other laptops and it works perfectly, but when I insert in my laptop, it says "Please insert the disk".»
    could someone help please.
    Thank you.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    Hello mike salinas.

    1. you have any third-party burning software installed on your computer?

    2. have you checked if the external CD drive works on another computer?

I suggest that you check if your internal CD-ROM drive is detected in the BIOS.

Usually, you must press a key (for example, F2, F12, DEL, ESC) or a key combination whenever you turn on your computer, but before I get to the BIOS to start Windows. Check to see if there is the CD/DVD drive in the BIOS.

You can see the article for more information about the BIOS:

Regarding the external CD/DVD drive, I suggest you see if it works on another computer.
