Corsair TX650W will work on my XPS 420?

I have Powersupply Dell 325W at this time, I was wondering just Corsair TX650W or TX750W will work on my XPS 420. The dimensions are:

TX650W Dimension: 5.9 "(W) x 3.4" (H) X 5.5 "(L)

TX750W Dimension: 5.9 "(W) x 3.4" (H) X 6.3 "(L)

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • This block of power SUPPLY Corsair will work in desktop XPS 8700?

    Hello friends,

I really really wanted to buy the 8700 XPS because the tower is much better and lighter then the Alienware Aurora. But I wanted to know if this PSU Corsair AX760w will be perfectly compatible with the Dell XPS 8700? I wanted to update the 8700 460w POWER supply because I want to update the graphics card for a black titan Nvidia requiring 600w.

    THX

There isn't one, perhaps that's a Yes. It is perfectly well... a little on the tight side but he did it with a bit of room to spare. I know what I'm talking about. I installed the AX760 in February in my xps8700se and it has worked perfectly since.

Don't hesitate because this diet is one of the better ones.

The XPS 420 computer only supports BTX, BTX motherboards has been a very short not duration format and are no mothers of detail available, other than the motherboards of Dell XPS 420 that will fit the chassis XPS 420 BTX.

  • Just upgraded my XPS 420 to Win 7 64 - but where are the drivers?

As I said in the subject of my post, I finally get rid of this headache known as Vista and migrated to Windows 7 64 bit. The bundle of keyboard and bluetooth mouse (obviously) work on this XPS 420, however, that's about it. Although I was concerned by the prioir to connectivity to the installation of Win 7, I found that it wasn't the problem. In fact, the mouse is especially barely functional. It points, but that's all. Not cut and stick - no nothing. So I searched and searched the drivers for my keyboard and mouse set and were all that I find Vista 64-bit drivers that were not compatible with Win 7. I'm go to Logitech.com, the manufacturer of these devices, but had no luck here as well. So, does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can find the drivers for my XPS 420 computer?

    Mouse = UN733

    Keyboard = M/N: Y-RAQ-led2

  • What is the cheapest video card that will work in a Dell Studio XPS 8100?

Map of 5770 in my Studio XPS 8100 seems to be dying.  The screen keeps have corrupted and I can't do anything until I restart, then it happens after a few minutes.  I have a corsair cx430 power supply installed.

The only weird thing I've noticed is that when it is started in safe mode the display seems to work perfectly.

This machine is my server machine, so I only need to make a minimum of working directly on the machine.

I think I should just replace the video card.  What is the cheapest video card / lowest which will work in my 8100?

    Thank you

The Sapphire 6450 is a video card large budget.

  • Struggling micro does not work. Installed Chipset for Dell Xps 420. Has been upgraded from vista to 7 64-bit

Whenever I plug a microphone, the microphone taken none appears on the recording tab devices in the sound settings.

The audio jack works well and worked even without the chipset drivers.

I tried to download realtek but I get an error that says no drivers supported.

    Hello

I couldn't find an update for Windows 7 for your computer, which means that Dell has not all drivers for this OS on your computer XPS 420. However, there is a driver that is specific to Vista 64-bit, download here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/xps-420?driverId=4JDG5&osCode=WV64&fileId=2731098634&languageCode=EN&categoryId=AU .

Another option to consider is to update your video driver to the latest version, download here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-320.18-whql-driver.html (it was released on 23 May). I suggest as an alternative as video drivers often include audio drivers as well.

Those are the two pilots who appear to be more likely to adapt to your system, and if one or the other does not work you can restore the driver using the dialog of properties as follows:

    1. Go to control panel and click Device Manager.
    2. When that opens, click sound, video and game controllers.
    3. Select the audio driver / video, you have downloaded and installed.
    4. Right-click on the device and select Properties.
    5. When this window opens, go to the tab (on the top row) driver.
    6. Click the Driver Rollback button and left-click on it.
    7. Let Windows reinstall the older driver.
    8. Restart your computer.

If all goes well, one of these fixes will take care of the problem. Keep me posted.

    Kind regards

  • XPS 420 will not again boot SSD

I have a XPS 420 with BIOS A07. I bought a Samsung 500 G 850 EVO SSD. I used the software included to duplicate my existing HD. It worked without problem. I then installed the SSD, went into the BIOS. I found the place where I had to define SATA2 port where it is plugged into the motherboard, for on. After the reboot, I went into the BIOS and when I select SATA2, it now offers information on the SSD. I also see it in Windows Explorer. However, I don't see an option to make the boot drive. There is a section on the Boot order in BIOS, but it lists all SATA drive. It does not specify which.

In addition, in the section on SATA there is no AHCI option. Just ATA SATA or RAID. I found the instructions on the Web to enable the AHCI in the registry for this computer. I followed the steps and was able to change two settings by following the instructions. Check back shows them as changed. But AHCI still does not appear as an option in the BIOS. How can I make my new SSD boot drive?

    Thanks for the help.

    Robb

Looks like I may have found a solution, although I'm surprised that it worked, and perhaps something else is what actually works. I had assumed that the number of SATA port on the motherboard has no importance. But just in case where SATA0 was faster and possibly solve the problem, I moved my SSD to SATA0, my old HDD to SATA1 and SATA2 DVD player. I went into the bios to activate SATA0, which I had previously turned off as the old hard drive is plugged it and always started for her. I have saved and let it start and of course it is initialized to the SSD. I then restarted and went into the BIOS and made sure that he considered every car on the SATA port, and that each has been activated. Everything was going as planned and he continued then to start on the SSD. The old drive appears in Windows Explorer under E. The DVD player works, as well.

I guess most of the people must not do this, because they can set the boot sequence for the SATA via the BIOS drives. But since I could not, it seems, this method worked, and going in the order the SATA ports. And it's probably just as well use SATA0 for my SSD just in case it is faster. My guess is that all SATA ports are the same and slow in this old Dell. But it works and I'm happy.

I'm surprised that there are no answers to my questions or problems. I guess that my Dell is too old. However, I thought that I would get something from the community. Until about five years ago, Dell had a different provider for their forums with lots of participation. I think that the provider has been appointed the lithium. It seemed that when they changed providers people were disappointed and veterans left.  In any case, I hope that my experience will be useful to someone. I can't be the only one running from these computers. And now with this SSD running, I will continue to do so for some time more.

  • Studio XPS 9100 Radeon HD 7950 what brand will work?

Currently in research to upgrade the 5770 in my XPS 9100 with a 7950 and after checking if an upgrade would be possible for this machine I came across several posts that say I'm able to upgrade. After looking through several brands, I had made my mind up on top of the Gigabyte brand but after having looked more into it, I noticed several posts on different sites and a review on Amazon who said they had problems with this card specific gel. If you would be grateful if anyone knows of a brand of 7950 that will work. I know that I will probably not be able to get an answer from someone who has actually upgraded a 9100 XPS with a 7950 I prefer, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I have found no information on other cards installed in the XPS 9100 on the Gigabyte brand does not.

Maybe Sapphire changed this on Vapor X model.  If this is the case, I'd go just with those that are confirmed to use just two 6-pin connectors, so you have no worries as this one HERE.  However, I would also consider the MSI TF as a good choice HERE.  As in the case of Dell cooling is never the greatest, I would look too GTX 660 Ti EVGA of external evacuation models.  Depending on the game, these two trade just kicks back in performance so that you would probably never notice no difference between the two except that the Nvidia GTX 660 it can just play games today smoother than the AMD card.  But then again, 4 games free vs a free game is a big difference if you like what you get.

I'm going to guess that there is a problem that we're trying to fix with the Vapor X model if they are exchanging with two 8 pin after the first release.  Most HD 7950 s use only two 6-pin and the 7970 s HD using one 8-pin and a 6 pin.  GTX 660 Ti uses only two 6-pin for sure.

  • Window vista xps 420 problem with USB ports.

I have problems with window vista dell xps 420 machine, all USB ports are not recognized, unless the computer is restarted or rebooted. anyone has a suggestion.

    Hi Miguelsmith,

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer recently?

You can uninstall and reinstall all USB device manager entries and check if it helps.

    a. Click Start and typedevmgmt.msc and then click OK. Device Manager opens.

    b. expand Bus USB controllers.

Note: You will need to scroll down to find this point.

    c. the first USB controller under Bus USB controllers right click and then click on uninstall to remove it.

    d. Repeat steps above for each controller USB is listed under Bus USB controllers.

    e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.

    f. check the USB device to see if it works

  • drive eSATA on XPS 420

I recently bought a RAID battery external LaCie 2big Quadra to use among a few computers. This external RAID array has just 2 hard drives that I currently have in RAID 0. It can connect to a computer via USB, Firewire 400, Firewire 800 and eSATA. I need this because only my XPS eSATA and I need the eSATA write speed on my XPS while I occasionally have read data from USB on other computers. Read around, people say that the eSATA port is only intended to be used in RAID mode with an internal hard drive. This has never explained when I bought my XPS and he said that the eSATA port is for adding hard drives in the user manual. He said nothing about that only work in RAID. Read around, I also found people who had the chance with the Western Digital drives, get these work simply as another external hard drive only.

I currently have a single hard drive inside my computer and I can't clear all information (Yes, critical information is saved on a USB hard drive). I want to use my LaCie external hard drive with eSATA port, but not in RAID mode with my internal hard drive. The LaCie is already a RAID 0 array. It seems that this can be done. Dell has announced the eSATA port as an eSATA port for adding hard disks capable external eSATA, do not set up a RAID array.

As of now, when I plug in my XPS 420 via eSATA LaCie hard drive, he installed new drivers for the ATA Channel 1. and in the Device Manager, by looking at the properties of ATA Channel 1 shows that there are 2 devices supported on the channel. It must be LaCie hard drives, but... I do not see the partitions (I have 2 there right now) pop up in my computer.

I am VERY surprised no one has mentioned this clearly in another thread.

I decided to risk everything and go with my instinct.

I tried to update my downloads page of the Intel ICH9 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 with drivers ICH9 SATA AHCI of the package on the computer XPS 420 Intel Matrix Storage Manager. After that, so I got a BSOD and my computer restarted. During the restart, even before taking the trouble to solve the problem of possible new driver, I created, I went into the BIOS to RAID Autodetect / ATA Mode of RAID for the hard drive I had in my computer. Vista booted up, installed new drivers for HDD and other IDE like my DVD - RW devices. and wamo, everything works. I plugged in my LaCie external hard drive via the eSATA port, and now I see it as a hard drive in my computer. It didn't remove this device as the eSATA is like having the external drive as a hard drive is internal.

Now, when my computer starts, a new screen appears for a few seconds for the Matrix Storage Manager there. It says press Ctrl + I to set up RAID or RAID settings. I have just to leave the screen sitting there for 2-3 seconds and start as I always have.

With RAID in BIOS, Vista will not even use the ICH9 SATA AHCI drivers, I tried to install, it installed new drivers, it automatically finds when Vista starts after turning on the RAID. So the solution to my problem was simply turn on RAID in the BIOS... which, as a side effect, light the eSATA port.

So to be clear, you have a hard disk or several internal hard drives and uses a drive eSATA hard, but not in any RAID mode. You turn on the RAID in the BIOS, but simply never none of the drives set up RAID.

I did have to reinstall Vista or whatever it is.

NOTE: I have updated the BIOS version A03, A06 before doing any of this.

  • XPS 420 Raid Vista

Hello, Johnyik here: box have XPS 420 Vista multimedia Ultimate with raid 1, two 750 GB drives, which is a failure. My instinct is to improve and replace with 1 TB drives, but how this work with the existing software of Intel, IE. can I add a 1 TB drive, copy it, and then add a second procedure and repeat without Add - ons?

    Thank you very much!

    Johnyik

Unfortunately, no: If you do this, you will end up by with two 750 G readers again (a mirrored pair table cannot be larger than the smallest disk).

You will need to use a utility of cloning such as speakers or similar to make an image on an external drive, build the new table, and then restore the image.

  • Graphics card does not not on Dell XPS 420

    Hello

Recently, a problem has arisen. My graphics card has given me some very strange situations, when I run a game (in this case, Medal of Honor Airborne) the color palette goes nuts and everything pink and green and the tris. Now, if it wont start even upward normally, it looks almost exactly like this picture I found on the web (the picture is below. mine alternated between points and lines). Still I can't understand what is wrong with it. My Dell XPS 420 also works very well with my other card which I believe is the AMD Radeon 2400 pro. The card is the Nvidia GeForce 8600 Gts.

Any help would be appreciated thanks -Microvolt

Both the 8600 GTS and HD 2400 Pro are old cards so that they may or may not last forever.  The 8600 GTS is a best performance card, so I can understand that want to use it against the HD 2400 Pro.  You can try to uninstall and reinstall a new driver for it in case it is damaged.  If this does not work, it can only have gone wrong for a new purchase would be in order, unless you can live with the AMD card.  There will be a range of cards video today that would be better than the 8600 GTS and they cost no more.  HD 6570, HD 6670 or the TG 640 would all consider inexpensive cards.

  • cable connecting the sound card to before i/o Panel for XPS 420

I have a desktop computer XPS 420 I recently installed a Sound Blaster X - Fi Sound card on. I found that I need the cable that connects the new sound card to the audio of the front panel IO on the XPS 420. The sound blaster card appears to be a connector 10 pin but the plug on the i/o Panel seems to be much larger, as a 20 PIN... but I'm not sure. Anyway, I can't find a cable that works. There was a post for a similar situation for a XPS 410 computer, but I don't think that the solution to this post will work for me (not sure this is the right cable).
