  • Hard drive, MOTHERBOARD?

OK, this is the second time to ask this question.

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 or something in that sense.

A few months ago my Dell started acting weird.

My monitor went into SLEEP mode (showed a black screen and an orange power light).

My CPU/Tower would be about 5 beeps and then stop.

And keyboard lights start flashing (power, number Lock etc.)

The only changes I made that possibly may have started at the time of my problem was that I got a new DSL modem through my phone company.

My brother who corrects and built computers tried to fix my computer. He had no problems with the computer except saying my hard drive was bad. But he never acted like he did while he had it in his possession.

My brother told me to buy a new hard drive, so I did. It has installed and gave it back to me. I brought home, started using it, it was fine. The next day, he did the same question. Keyboard Flash, like the Tower beeps beeps long and deep and monitor goes to sleep. You get no response when they hit anything on the keyboard, so I turned it off and move on to stick my head into the wall. I just don't understand. It will work for a few weeks or months, and then it will start to do that. What is a surge? Could it be the problem?

If the USB connection is not recognized, try the following steps:

    • Make sure a Memory Stick is inserted and recognized correctly by the camcorder;

    • Slide the MODE switch repeatedly until the PLAY/EDIT is on;

    • Value [USB SELECT] [Memory Stick];

    • Disconnect other devices to your computer;

    • Try a different USB port. If you are using a desktop computer, try the USB ports at the back of the CPU Tower.

    • Try a different USB cable, if possible;

    • Press the RESET button using a pointed object. The RESET button is located on the front of the lid of the cassette compartment.

    Hi storm36,

You must have the Windows XP disk to repair Windows. As the CD/DVD drive is not getting detected, we recommend you try the following steps and check the result.

Step 1: Check if the device is detected in the BIOS (basic input/output device)
    a. start your computer and press on delete key continuously to see the BIOS.
    b. check if the CD/DVD device is detected.
    c. If this isn't the case, then unplug the unit and he reconnected inside the CPU/Tower.
    d. check the result.

Step 2: If the device is detected in the BIOS, try the following steps:
    a. start your computer and boot to the desktop.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click ok.
    c. select my computer, click the Action menu and click scan for hardware changes.
    d. check if the CD/DVD device is listed in the list.

Step 3: If the problem persists, restore the computer
see How to restore Windows XP to a previous state .
    b. Once you have restored the computer, check if the CD/DVD drive is visible.

Hey im currently on windows vista, my front audio jack is broken on my compaq presario CQ3040AN because my friend is triggered on a Jack already plugged into it. I think that part of the Jack may have violated in there, causing the computer always recognize something hip and I am trying to use the back entrance, but it does not work.

is he still taking on reading taking back and if so is there a way to disable the front to operate the back?

    Help!

    Timm

    Hello

If you are comfortable to open the CPU Tower and disconnect the wiring for the front cable which goes from this Jack to the Audio card, you can go ahead and perform the same. You can also contact the manufacturer of the computer for support.

    I hope this helps!
  • Fan failure

I hear a squeaking noise coming from the CPU Tower and I'm receving a "512 - undetected rear chassis fan" error on initialize toward the top.  I guess this means that one (or more?) fans, or are in the process of, in default.  I have a service center that will install new.  I just need to make sure that I have order the most suitable?  Thank you!

Take a look at the fan to find the manufacturer and part number.

A Google or Bing search the specifications. Just buy one that has the same size of fan and moving the same or better air in CF/M.

The simple solution if you plan to do yourself is to take your desktop with you PC a true PC shop and ask the technician. They are generally quite useful in this regard. In fact, it does not much time at all to share the CPU fan when you know what you're doing.

You can find instructions on how to apply the material to thermal interface on sites like Arcticsilver.com. Don't forget and remove all the old pad thermal interface with a suitable solvent.

  • Processor upgrade: 8199-54U A30 for Pentium 4 Celeron

Does anyone have experience upgrading a Thinkcentre A30 or any model of a Celeron Pentium 4 processor Thinkcentre?  For the A30 8199, the motherboard for the different models is identical - FRU 88P 8477.  So I guess I can run a Celeron or Pentium 4.  Here's what I course.

I'm trying to upgrade my Thinkcentre A30 8199-54U a 2.4 GHz Intel Celeron processor to an Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz.  When I install the new PC P4 processor returns a 1-1-3-3 (CPU initialize registry) beep code and will not be DISPLAYED.  I re-installed the old processor Celeron, flashed the BIOS with the latest version of lenovo.com (May 2005), re-installed the P4 processor and still get the same 1-1-3-3 beep codes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

On paper, it seems, the 3.06 should work, but I suspect that you have a D1 walk instead of a C1 stepping, which is what is stated in the list items. (The A30 comes with a P4 3.06 on some models, so it should work)

The parts for your machine can be found HERE where it clearly lists at the bottom of the list of processors 3.06. Your motherboard is a 533 Mhz with AGP.

Check the number sSpec on the processor you have and add it to this list HERE on the site Web of Intels. If the processor you have indeed a D1 strengthens, that would most likely be the cause of the system not recognize. Find other treatment with the correct sSpec number and you should be good as gold.

  • Error 0x8007007B

I have a Hewlett Packard Compaq CPU Tower computer. It was new in 2010. I have a 500 GB hard drive and 4 GB of Ram. Everything goes normally, but I recently found that the free space on my

C: drive was disappearing at a rate of knots. For the C: drive partition size is 100 GB.

Factory drive, drive D:, has 194 10.7 GB GB. This doesn't seem not up and down and have not looked at what is inside.

I also have a f. It is a big drive, just for my stuff. I have free, 296 GB on my 345 GB total.  I have Windows 7 Home Premium. 64-bit and a quad core on my pc.

Until recently, I did not notice the problem that I'll explain. In the my computer window, I noticed that I was wasting space of data at an alarming rate. I've always had spare GB "s in the c: drive and it always appeared in a long green line, so I never worried.» During the last week it was back up quickly, pass a green line, zoom by becoming a RED line. I found this alarming. Never seen before. I found which is scary. I tried to uninstall unnecessary programs, Opera, Chrome, and others. I dumped all my internet history, defrags, did disk cleaning. I had a relief, got the c: drive in the green. But the next time I came to use my pc, he had fallen down in the red. Now I'm afraid. Google it. Watched a YouTube video about what to do. The person said he had the same thing and he found a solution. He said beginning botom left, bouton button start, then right-click on computer in the grey vertical section and click Properties. I had the configuration-system security and system board. Tell more in another post. Cordially Eugenia387

    [Merged from duplicate thread]

He went to start button, left, up to the computer, in grey vertical shading, right-click on it, went down to "properties and get the security role in the control pane.» On the list on the left, under control to the House Panel, he clicked the protection system.  The system properties of a window, clicked on his

C: drive on the list, and then click Configure. To his astonishment, the cursor button for how security to keep old stuff has been on 50%. He had almost a thousand Go on his c: drive that didn't need to be there. He then clicked on apply. He returned to his computer with a hard drive all shown, and that he had acquired a terabyte of space spar on his c: drive.

I tried it on mine, and it worked. I got 32Gb spare on my c: drive, which had been up to 850 MB, seriously in the red. But I had to continue to do as she glided upward again. So yesterday, I did once again, but a window emerged saying action has not worked because of an error.

    Error 0x8007007B

I google, don't see no easy answers, only of people doing me download apps to fix. Surely, there must be an easier way? I don't want a shonky software. Sometimes, I downloaded the software to fix something, but then cannot get rid of my pc off. I can not be able to do a disk cleanup. Thank you people who read this. Thank you for being patientenough to read. Regards Eugenia387.

    Eugenia salvation,

    Thank you for the update.

Let us diagnose once, if there is no problem with hard disk partitions. Please follow these steps to check the drive for errors:

    1. Tool command prompt open in the mode of the Windows recovery environment .
    2. You will see X:\Sources
    3. Type chkdsk c:\ at the flashing prompt to launch the utility Chkdsk. replace c:\ with the letter of the drive that you want to run the Chkdsk utility. If the hard drive is d:\, then type that instead.
    4. After the "chkdsk c:\. "insert \f command to fix errors on the disk volume or the \r to recover bad sectors and then press ENTER.
    5. Restart the computer once the chkdsk command has completed.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive, it attempts to repair this sector, if all available on which data may be lost.

Please post back your results for assistance.

  • Get files from a computer Gateway (... 2000?) using a USB device?

Well, it is probably a matter of "uh, do not"; but here goes: I have a computer Gateway (... 2000?).  The big screen and CPU Tower.  Without the help of the monitor, is there a way to plug in a usb device and transfer files?  All programs on this topic are Microsoft... I would prefer not to have to pay someone to do it.

    Thank you!
    DLB

Do you mean that the PC does not start or is it just that the monitor does not work?

If the PC does not start, simply, remove the hard drive, place the drive in an external enclosure usb, plug it into another pc to transfer data files. You cannot transfer programs.

  • (Redirected) Computer beeps during use. Maybe high disk or the use of the CPU usage?

New here and new to Dell computers. 1st stop, I have a Dell XPS 13 "i7 6560u 16 GB and SSD 512. When using the computer, I get a series of 2 beeps. It seems to be related to the high use of the disc or the CPU usage. I guess my question is possible to put these notifications for a longer delay or at least decrease the volume of the beeps. I am aware that when I use one of my CSD programs to open a browser and looking for an answer to the question about what there will be times where I could get high uses a of these, that's all just annoying and not really want to turn them off entirely (option I would) I would delay having more time this will happen to until I get through this ,

  • [Solved] Continuous beep T5500 Workstation with high CPU usage.

I have a T5500, and every time that I insist on processors the system starts a continuous and constant beeping noise.

The system still seems to operate normally and the time CPU are also under control, just the annoying noise.

I don't see a continuous sound anywhere in the manual, so I don't know what that means.

It is an old machine and out of warranty so if I can't find the problem, can I just turn off or unplug the speaker making the noise?

    Thank you.

Resolved, I feel like such a fool. Someone helped me to find the problem. I am turning on the PC with a UPS just next door and it doesn't clearly have the juice to power the T5500 anywhere near full charge.

So after the days of troubleshooting, I found it was a simple error of ID10T.

    Thank you.

  • Alienware 17 4 beeps after the replacement of the CPU

    Hello

My, one month out of warranty, and Alienware 17A worked well until Christmas morning.

When I tried to put one I had no sign of life except 7 beeps.

From my research it seemed like the CPU or the motherboard.

I decided to play and replace the processor i7-4710mq.

After following all the steps according to the owner's manual and carry anti passive gear, I have everything back together.

When I tried to start it again, it gives me 4 beeps which I believe is insufficient RAM or RAM read/write.

I have two laptops Alienware 17 identical so I replaced the ram in the laptop to work with this ram and it starts fine for ram, it would seem that the ram is good.

I'm looking for one direction a little bit to what else could be causing these 4 beeps please.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

This looks like a problem with the motherboard. A failure of the CPU is quite rare, and since you have already replaced the CPU and tested the ram with another system, which leaves the motherboard, which is the only other component that could cause this kind of problem.

  • BEEP running on 1 - CPU

Is it possible to install a BEEP on a server with a multi-core processor, if I buy a license, a processor? Will it work?

    Thank you.
    Andy

From a technical point of view:
    1. YES it is possible.
    2. remember that the BEEP is deployed on an Application Server which is the component that manages the processing power of your CPU.

From a license point of view, you will need to consult your Oracle sales representative.
