CQ50-106au memory

Hi I have a cq50-106 that came with 3 GB of memory and I just upgraded to 4 GB, but it tells me that I can use only 2.75 gb of ram is possible to say 3 GB or more please

@dobie

Hello

You are using 32-bit windows 7, right? So like all systems 32 bits, it can go max 3.5 GB of Ram. Rest is always taken by (hardware) components such as graphics card.

  • CQ50-139wm upgrade

CQ50-139wm upgrade ram and windows 7 to 4gig is possible

It was a Wal-Mart Black Friday model since a few years back and has the Celeron 575 processor which is, believe it or not, capable of 64-bit. Memory max is listed as / 3 gb in the features of HP but crucial.com says it can take 4 GB and I don't see that would be incorrect:

    http://www.crucial.com/store/ListParts.aspx?model=Presario%20CQ50-139WM

So yes, I would like to install Windows 7 64 bit instead of Vista Home Basic and works for 4 gigs and it would be almost usable. The video is technically capable of Aero in Windows 7, but it will lag what it is demanding, even things like Netflix.

It came with a 160 GB 5400 RPM hard drive and it would be even better to slide say an 80 GB or 120 GB SSD in there and it would be quite a bit snappier. The problem is, I'm not sure the same profitability invest the sum of $75 or more for memory. That money would be better spent if you sold the CQ50 and invested a little more in a current entry with a dual core processor laptop level.

  • CQ50-210US

I wonder if someone can tell me if I can replace a motherboard 494182-001 with a 489810-001. I'm trying to put together a CQ50 with a bad motherboard (memory locations) and I have a good 489810-001 and would like to know if I could use it.

Thanks in advance for anyone to help

Installed the second Board. Worked for about a day. The same problem. I started testing in the provider and after several emails he admitted that he had some "issues" with these cards. So I guess what I'm saying, it's to look at where you get your parts and make sure you can return them.

Thanks again for your help. If I find a good advice somewhere, I'll post again.

  • Issue frequency RAM on CQ50 series

I have a pretty good knowledge of memory speeds when it comes to computers, but even I have a question about a specific memory. Maybe someone out there knows the answer.

My question is what is causing my main ram to laptops run at DDR2 - 667 mhz. I know for a fact it is PC2-6400 and is able to operate at an external speed of 800 mhz DDR2, but it won't. The default ram to 667 mhz no matter what I do.

The BIOS was my first choice to change this setting, but as usual the BIOS is locked.  Note to HP, you guys need to stop locking sections of the advanced features of the BIOS. This is a killer of the real deal for any future project, that I had to purchase more HP/Compaq computers. Not to mention the limitations, he puts on the system in general, in other words, it has a * beep * move on your part.

The system in question is the HP Compaq CQ50 and I modified it with updates of the game. Mainly changed the single core celeron 575 for a Core2Duo T7500 processor. The processor runs at a nominal speed of 800 mhz FSB and chipset GL40 says it supports up to bars of memory DDR2 800 mhz.

As for the memory, the system has had 2 gb (2x1gb) sticks to 667 mhz and I swapped those out for newer DDR2 800 mhz sticks (2x2gb) for a total of 4 GB. I was disappointed when then start the system and check cpu id to find the speed of the ram was the same, there was just more of it.

They are adapting sticks purchased at the same time and are registered as PC2-6400 (400 mhz), manufactured by Ramaxel technology with part RMN1740EF48D8W-800 number. Shot of another HP computer.

Which component on the system board is causing the RAM down the clock like that? I begin to suspect that the BIOS is the culprit because there is no advanced options, or really anything of use in there. Just, I want the memory runs at the expected speed, is there anything we can do about it?

    System information:

Name: Compaq Presario CQ50 103WM (its been updated since the installed equipment factory)

Processor: Intel Core2Duo T7500 2.2 Ghz 6 MB cache FSB 800 mhz (original was core Intel Celeron 575)

Memory: 4 GB of DD2 at 800 mhz (operating at 667 for unknown reason) (has 2 GB of ddr2 667 orginially)

Graphics card: integrated Intel Mobile 4 series (GL40 Chipset) (also a serious bottleneck, and probably why the ram runs at the wrong frequency)

    Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 sp1

This seems to be the revelant information that future readers will have. If need more information I'll post on request. I feel there will be little or no help here, but I have to try. Otherwise no one would know that the question is there.

    Hello:

  • Blue screen and bad RAM memory?

My MBP 2011 early all just stopped working yesterday, it worked very well without any problem of performance for the last 5 years, and then suddenly a blue screen (of death) and it has problems starting.

The official list of Mac compatible with macOS Sierra:

What are the requirements for Sierra.

Towards the end of 2009 or later

    • MacBook
    • iMac

    2010 or later

    • MacBook Air
    • MacBook Pro
    • Mini Mac
    • Mac Pro

If you do not meet the above, but respect what follows, then you can upgrade to El Capitan.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

    Upgrade to Lion

If your computer does not meet requirements to install the above, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

You can buy Lion to the Apple store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus taxes.  It's a download. You will receive an email with a redemption code that you then use on the Mac App Store for download Lion. Save a copy of this installer to your download folder because Setup deletes itself at the end of the installation.

    Lion system requirements

1 mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,

    or Xeon processor

    2. 2 GB of memory

    3 OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.6.8) recommended

    4. 7 GB of available space

    5. certain features require an Apple ID; conditions apply.

  • Why must the Finder 10.12 more physical memory

    Hello

I use the preview mode icons in the Finder feature to pre-select one or more images for later use in documents. The pre-selection spans more than 30-40 records, each a few images from 80 to 120. At the beginning just after the start of system-Finder takes about MB, 45-47. Working through records about 20 this is increased to a muscular 1.78 GB. Which is not a problem at the moment because I have 20 GB of available, but I was wondering why the Finder is the hungry.  And also, this increase in the number of forever with the number of records, I'm working through?

The only way I can "free" memory to baseline is to force quit viewfinder, but there must be a more elegant method.

Anyone know this method? Thanks in advance.

    Hans

Finder, as the system and other applications, will use unused memory in the file cache. It uses more memory, but it does not use what is available and who otherwise would be wasted. If something else needs memory, cache memory is reduced. There is no need to keep 'liberation' memory. The system will take care of him for you (that's why all apps free memory are unnecessary placebos that actually reduce performance).

  • "Your system is running out of Application memory"

    Hello

Since last week I have been having a problem where my computer screen appears with a reading of the question 'your system has sold out of the memory of the application.' This happens around every 20-30 minutes to use my computer, where the issue is resolved by restarting my computer. However, this message appears when I have 1 or 2 applications open (including the permanent Finder application). At my computer without a doubt a lot of memory left and I installed only 5 additional applications: League of Legends, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook. I used OS X El Capitan for the first half of the week and macOS Sierra for the second half, but the upgrade did not solve my problem.

    I run:

MacBook Air (13 inch, mid 2013)

1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor

    DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz memory

    Start drive Macintosh HD

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Your system is running out of RAM, not disk space. 4 GB is the absolute minimum of RAM. Try to remove all unnecessary startup items (Preferences > users and groups > you > login items) with the key less (not simply uncheck the boxes - which hide just the app but it still works).

You can also run activity monitor (Applications > utilities) to see what is using the memory.

I had just recently purgeable memory appear in my closet for my Macbook pro under OS Sierra 2015. What is this memory for and where it comes from?

Purgeable disk memory is disk with files stored in it. The most frequent creator of them is "snapshot backups" created during your regular backup drive is not available.

Purgeable means they will be deleted immediately if another Application requires you to file that isn't otherwise available space.
