  • If any software is uninstalled, the registry contains all references to this program?

    Original title: registry - Windows 7 and 8

    This is a generic issue, not a specific problem.

    If I uninstall a program using the control panel (the uninstall has been total, which means that no parts of the show were asked to hold), the registry should contain all references to this program?

    If the answer is YES, why?

    Bill S

    The answer is none, but some programs leave stuff behind.  The uninstall program has a list of things to delete, and sometimes the developers who build the program do not remember to list everything in the Uninstall list.

    It is a big reason for the new model "app" of Windows 8: stand-alone applications that can be neatly installed, managed, and removed.  More like how Apple and Linux.

  • screen problem, black 2009 m after the login screen

    Since I downloaded the updated HP I noticed my monitor freezes for like a minute after the Windows 7 log on screen. The log on screen is visible, but after that it fades to the transition to the desktop, the screen stays black for a minute and the only thing visible is the pointer. Office windows load after that and is visible, working properly, etc, but since the update, it takes more time to load. I checked the monitor, the monitor display settings and driver windows display settings - everything seems to go well. I can't find a solution to this annoying problem.

    My pc is a HP Pavilion p6110y, running Windows 7 64 - bit (upgrade from Vista), Pentium Dual Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60 GHz, 6 GB Ram, 500 GB HD

    The monitor is an HP 2009 m.

    Any help would be great!

    You can try to use msconfig to prevent some programs from starting automatically.  It can be a process or service that is causing the delay.

    Here is a document describing the msconfig (it is for Vista, but the program is the same in Windows 7): http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00819747

    The first thing I would try is start diagnosis, reboot and see if the delay is gone.  If it is, then reload msconfig and go through the startup items tab uncheck a few at a time and restart to see what elements cause the delay.  This, until you have reduced the offending program.

    If start diagnosis does not remove the delay, then it might be something else in the system of the cause.

  • Blue Screen stop Codes, failed to start the laptop at all the

    I have an Inspiron running XP Media Center edition.  Something strange happened last night where the power was interrupted during the closing down and the laptop has become something weird Media Center Genuine Advantage. I don't know what it was, I was half asleep at the time.

    In any case, this morning, I can't start the laptop.  It brings me to a screen where I have the option of waiting for Windows to start, start Windows normally or start in safe mode.  None of these work.  They bring me straight to a blue screen with stop code: 0 x 00000024.  Then, in parentheses, there these: 0 x 00190203, Ox8651F288, 0xC000102, 0 x 000000000.

    I searched a bit, and seems the only solution that I found the recovery utility, but I have a few questions about it.  One, I lose my data? Two, it says it's for advanced users, and I'm not an advanced user.  I'll be able to use it?  Three, you need a CD of the OS to run it, and I don't have a CD when I bought my Dell laptop.  I don't think I even offered to pay extra to get a copy (it was awhile I bought it).  Can I get a CD of the OS through Dell?  I know that you can burn a backup copy of Windows, but I only learned after the beginning of this problem.

    Any other maybe solutions?  Thank you.

  • That is the stupidest question, all members of this forum going hard today. : can I buy Photoshop elements 13 without any monthly charges to Adobe?  I want to buy the product and "walk away."

    After my last visit to Adobe, I was under the impression that I couldn't buy this product sound; I had to pay a monthly subscription.  I got this wrong in a first time, or changed?

    Photoshop elements 13 is available as single product Stand, which comes with serial number, only

    It is not available as monthly or annual subscription.

  • Upgrading Toshiba PX30t to win 10 - HID touch screen problem

    Hi all

    im not an avid touch screen user... I rarely use when necessary or when the batteries in the mouse dies in the middle of my work and I have to continue with the screen.

    When I bought my PC it was win8 and everything worked fine... until yesterday and after about 2-3 months because I upgraded to win10, I realized that the touchscreen does not work!

    I looked at the forum for all tracks on this issues and I have seen that many complain of being unusable after upgrade win10 function keys. However I don't have this problem. that the screen has got the contact rendered useless item.
    probably, during the win10 update the system decided to disable this feature, so no accidental contact on the screen could interrupt the upgrade process...

    If anyone is aware of this problem and how to fix it... I would be really grateful.

    Thank you

  • My computer when it is turned on will not past the blue screen of Windows Vista, not able to see the start with all the icons page

    Had to restart the computer and turned on will not go beyond Windows Vista of the screen blue, not able to see the start with all the icons page

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
  • Compaq Presario CQ70 screen problems advice please
    Hi guys I have a Compaq Presario CQ70 and the screen guard sparkle power on and off when I move the upper part of the phone backwards and forwards (see photo below) has seen this before his arrival on my laptop as well (even mobile) dads so got 2 of them to try to trouble lol must be a fault with this model I think.
    any help would be thank you very much
    Thank you, but I've now sorted. If anyone has this problem as it seems to happen for a lot of these models, all I had to do is take off the screen and theres a card below the screen theres a black wire with a white contector of this card that seemed to be attracted to the lifting up & down the screen. all I did was to pull the wire through which gives him a bit of slack to move and I recorded it down and everything was fine
    I hope this helps if someone falls on this problem
  • WinXP split the screen problem
    Brand: Compaq Presario
    Model: V6444US
    OS: XP sp3
    Problem:
    When the computer is turned on this morning the entire screen (from the beginning of initialization) was split into tiled copies of iteslf. Even when I go into the BIOS screen, it is too divided in copies in mosaic. When Windows starts, the entire desktop is tiled. Each tile has its own cursor, taskbar, desktop icons and programs. All the tiles to work at the same time (not individually), so when the mouse moves, all cursors are moving the same direction and click on the same icon in each tile. When a program is open, it opens all the tiles. No new programs have been installed and no updates since the last use (the day before).
    Attempted fixes:
    1. simple restart - no change
    2 system restore - no change
    3. updated - graphic driver is not necessary
    4 anti-virus - clean
    Someone at - it clues on how I can remove the split and make normal again (apart from complete reinstallation)? Any help is appreciated thank you.
  • Notebook Compaq CQ50 - 107NR PC-not to sound of the laptop without headphones
    No sound from the laptop without headphones... help?
    Until today, I was perfectly able to hear the sound in my Compaq CQ50-107NR notebook PC with or without headphones plugged. I have not upgraded or anything and I don't know how to fix it. It shows everything works well, but is not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Hi rajiv puri,.
    Because that did not fix the issue, I suggest delete and then install the sound card and check.
    It may also be that the sound card may be disabled in the BIOS, probably only the edge can work.
