CQ56-219WM: restoration of HP software

My hard drive failed in my laptop. I replaced the hard drive with an exact replica. I bought the restoration directly on the site of HP software. When you have finished loading (three disks) and reboot, I get the error mssg. : lack of File:\Boot\BCD...status 0xc000000f. If I take the hard drive and read it from another computer (usb connection) I find that startup in windows folder files are indeed incomplete, startup files in sys32. I have win7 home premium(64bit). I used an additional windows (7 Home premium x 64) installation disc and the installation worked perfectly. Reformat the hard disk and restore disks have tried again... same failure. I tried to use the windows installation disk to do the Startup Repair, but not chance it. I tried to replace startup files with the files from the DVD of win7 (using the command-line via the win7 drive), but I get the error that the op sys is incorrect. What is the probability that HP sent me the wrong disc game?, and how to rectify? I hate to waste $30 on programs that don't work.

Try a reinstall and recovery by top first and if it still does not have the phone number you have listed is the right to get in touch with us in North America.

  • Same product key of Windows7 on different computers mobile, CQ56-219WM and CQ60-615DX. Is this true?

I bought two laptops Compaq Presario used, a CQ60-615DX CQ56-219WM.  I used the ProductKey software to get the product key of Windows7 Home Premium for each machine.  The keys for the two machines were the same.  Is this good?  Can I depend on these keys, if I load Windows7 as part of a recovery for each machine?

Paul_Tikkanenanswer is correct, because you can not use the HP OEM SLP keys that you retrieved from the computer to activate Windows under normal conditions. As Paul says, you can use the Windows product key, which is printed on the Microsoft COA affixed to the computer to activate Windows.

However, there is another method that can be used to activate computers using the same HP OEM SLP key. This method requires the recovery of the HP OEM SLP key and HP OEM SLP certificate that was installed at the factory on the computers. The computer BIOS must also contain a table with HP OEM SLIC for the pre-activation works correctly. Please see HP Forum post "How to install Windows 7 without the disc" for more detials.

    Qoute;

«1 b) using a locator key, however, is useful only if the product key of Windows 7 was printed on the label affixed to your PC, on the documentation that came with your PC, or sent by e-mail from Microsoft (Microsoft Certificate of authenticity).» Assuming that your computer came among computer makers of big brand... HP, Sony, Dell, Gateway, etc... as do more, it uses an OEM SLP of generic key "massive activation". Try to use this key by itself is not going to work. This OEM SLP key should be used with an OEM SLP certificate and an OEM BIOS with a good table SLIC.

1 c) here's where ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support comes to the rescue. Follow the section 'How to use' ABR for Windows Vista for information and instructions on how to use ABR the steps listed for Vista as well apply to Windows 7. Run the backup 'activation' for 'backup' and record the OEM SLP key and the OEM SLP certificate. Save all of the ABR folder to an external location for later use. This will allow you to preactivate your installation of Windows 7 'clean' on the computer that you pulled the key and the certificate of. »

  • Restore the Touchsmart software

Updated my TouchSmart IQ507 vista computer to windows 7 Professional. Touchscreen still works, but most of the touchsmart software don't.  How can I recover it?  Thanks for any help!

    JRPT, welcome to the forum.

Here are the specifications of the computer.  In the 'Software' section, it lists all the programs supplied with the computer.  It also shows the programs that you can restore from the recovery disks.  However, this means using the original operating system.  Once switch you to Win7, many value-added programs are not available.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

  • How to restore the audio software for windows XP

original title: Audio for windows XP software

I must have accidentally uninstalled the program that runs the audio on my computer during the uninstallation of an another grosgrain. What should I do? I have absolutely no audio now! Is it possible I could still be on my computer somewhere? Is there a program I can dpwnload?

I did this for your hardware in particular, from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Otherwise, he would never install them for you.

The download link, then unzip it into a folder.

Open Device Manager and right-click on this point, identical to the front. Choose update driver software.

Browse my computer. Let me repeat. Have the disk. Browse.

Find and double click on STWRT.inf in the extracted folder. Click ok then next and it will install.

  • CQ56-219WM rebuilt for hard drive

Machine of Windows 8 that uses my teenage son.    He tried to turn on one day and have absolutely nothing. Honestly, I don't know how, but we have managed to turn and started IMMEDIATELY by pressing F11 as recommended by HP (hoping to be able to rescue/restore, because we were the bad guys and did not create the hot spare when we bought the new machine).  The machine hangs and will do absolutely nothing when we try this approach.

Suggestions please!  I might mention that my wife started having some problems with his machine, shortly after you install MINECRAFT on hers.  She has uninstalled and works very well since.  The reason that I mention that is because our son has MINECRAFT on the machine that we are discussing here.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL!

    Hello

Some of the things you can try:

    Hard reset: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768

Run a vast hard drive & memory tests, it will take time: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03463381

    Wait for the results.

If all tests pass, you could go for partition recovery in your system.
But as it freezes, I don't see what is happening.

    Post back with the results,

  • Win7 64 bit, System Restore deletes installed software and domain membership

Hello, we (me and my colleagues) have a strange problem with some of our Pc.
We have disabled the Systemrestore by policy.
But in some cases STILL done system restore full and removes all installed Programms, also sets the Pc up to a point before the domain join.
Data is not lost but they system is broken so the profile and we habe to reinstall.
How this could happen? The Systemrestore is disabled, but still he managed to him and to crack the system.
If you are looking for the settings for the Systemrestore, everything is disabled, also there is no restore point.

I have not discovered yet what causes this or how to reproduce the error.

I saw him only once, after i had started the system, I was aksed if I want to do a system restore and if you say yes, zam Programms everyone and everything disappeared.  Its happens on each Pc (Lenovo X 1, HP 2650, 8470).

Some else had this problem or is some has a solution?

  • WIN8 system restore half uninstalled software trail

    Nice day

Even though I know now that even if I don't get this problem, I don't think I'll be able to continue the trail... I need to fix this...

I need to know how to be

    (a) delete the program files that were left when windows has a system restore point, leaving the half installed dreamweiver (Application Manager Adobe thinks it is always installed, but windows thinks that his party (it is not listed in the start menu, in Control Panel, under programs and features, I can't find an exe file associated with dreamweiver).)

    (b) download the files needed for this half install to a full install, so that I can continue the trail period, so that I can decide if worth paying for it.

Unfortunately the chat support Adobe says that it is not covered by their support... (which I find strange that implementation could benefit them if I buy it...).

    Thank you!

Adobe support is not really something they are proud.  Many here will be attest to that.  The WIndows restore cleaner does certain things, not everything that make installers.  Have you tried the cleaner CS yet?  If this isn't the case, that is where I would start.

I guess I now need to rebuild the operating system but have only a USB CD drive. I contacted the support help line which can not tell me where I can get a CD PCMCIA drive to rebuild the laptop (I have the CD). Any ideas on:

-Otherwise, how to perform the task.

You will find a compatible readers and supported for R100.
I recommend seeing for readers of this and find an online store that sells players.
The other possibility is to order these parts from the Toshiba service partner.

I tried repairing the system when she appeared, did nothing. I tried to do safe mode, but I can't tell if it of in there or not. After loads of windows logo I get a blue corrugated (a bit like a curtian blowing in the Breeze) of the screen and the mouse shows but nothing else, start no button, no icon of shortcut... nothing. I've had a few years but it has barely been used and when it is used its especially for printing photos from my camera. HELP HELP HELP PLEASE!

    Hello

The error code will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with startup error.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

    Kind regards
